A founding leader of the Latin American Theological Fellowship (Spanish: Fraternidad Teológica Latinoamericana), Escobar was widely recognized as a key architect of contextual theology in Latin America and a vocal advocate for integrating evangelical faith with sociopolitical responsibility.
