In the shadowed depths of the Netherworld, a dark and forbidden romance unfolds...
"You killed my husband and kidnapped me, I will never love you!"
Persephone's fury knows no bounds as she confronts the enigmatic Hades, ruler of the Underworld. Yet, beneath his veiled intentions lies a secret so profound, it could shatter her world.
"You may remember it now, but you are my Queen. You are fierce, feared by all, and the only woman to put me on my knees and quiver."
Haunted by fragmented memories of a love once powerful, Persephone finds herself torn between her past and her present. Hades, the king she loathes and yet desires, is the key to unlocking the mysteries of her stolen memories.
After a century of reigning as Hades' queen, Persephone is taken, her memories wiped clean by a sinister curse. With his beloved stolen away, Hades embarks on a quest, determined to break the curse and rekindle the flame of their forbidden love.
But Hades and Persephone discover that the curse that binds her is darker and more malevolent than they could have ever imagined. Their love, their very existence, hangs in the balance, and they must defy the fates themselves to rewrite their tragic tale.
"Vowed to Hades," is a haunting and seductive dark fairy tale romance, where forbidden passion and ancient curses intertwine to shape a love story that defies even the gods. This is a standalone novel written for mature audiences only.
I’m so frustrated with how many lores and myths have been shoved into this series. It’s becoming too overloaded.
It took me so long to get through this book it felt like it dragged on. And when I tell you how disappointed I was that it wasn’t the last one in the series. Maybe the author is doing some good because I still want to find out what happens to the characters, but I don’t know if that’s just because I’ve committed to this series for this long that I feel like I can’t quit now.
I was bamboozled into thinking this was only about Hades & Persephone (& yall know I eat that up every time) … which is my fault for not reading more about the blurb or the other books in the series 😭
It was good, but wasn’t enough to really capture my attention — my reading slump is mostly to blame for that, but the plot was going at a snail’s pace 🐌
When I tell you I DEVOURED this book! I’ve done nothing but think about it and reading it the past couple days!
Like the rest of the series it is centred around our main characters for each book with a larger storyline going on in the background and the larger storyline in this had me on the edge of my seat as well as the current one!
I can’t wait until book 5!!! ❤️❤️
I read the other books in the series towards the start of the year and LOVED them.
A massive thank you to Athena Rose for sending me an ARC of this book!
I’ve read this in a day and I’d say it was a bit slow to reach the interesting part but i’ve loved the end and where it’s heading! can’t wait to read more
When I tell you I DEVOURED this book every chance I got to read it!! Ok that may be a bit dramatic but it was soooo good. This is my first ARC and I was so pleased to be allowed early access. I read this on BookFunnel which is a great platform to read on.
Ok, gushing over….maybe….so I adore this book series. I stormed through book 1 and the rest definitely weren’t far behind. The series has been so person centred around the main characters who are so beautifully written and book 4 certainly did not disappoint. I imagined I was there and felt the raw energy and emotion of each character and I had a clear image in my head of what they looked like. It really helped to summarise my overall thoughts and experience of this book!
The storyline has me gripped throughout and I love that it has carried across all of the books and still not done. Huzzah!! As someone who adores Greek & Norse Mythology, this was such a joy to read and I highly recommend this. I felt that Athena really did her research on the mythology side including the story of Hades x Persephone. I’m now finding myself wishing to read the Touch of Darkness series to see another take on their “love” story. I adored the writing style of this book’s predecessors and this was no exception. Simply marvellous!!
Can we also talk about the cover? It’s gorgeous and giving me Disney Hades vibes with the blue with the beautiful design of the blade. I cannot wait to add the physical copy to my ‘Romancing The Seas’ collection!
I’ve really enjoyed this book. I’ve not read many dark romance books but I was so so hooked!! My only criticism is that it was not long enough. However, it felt it ended with me wanting more, so that is always a plus!!
A huge huge thank you to Athena Rose 🌹 who sent me this ARC. It was a pleasure to read this and I can’t wait for Book 5!!
Athena Rose’s "Vowed to Hades: A Hades and Persephone Dark Fairy Tale Romance" is a spellbinding reimagining of the classic Greek myth. This dark romance captivates with its vivid prose and intricate world-building. The novel follows Persephone, a vibrant goddess of spring, as she is abducted by Hades, the brooding god of the underworld. Their relationship evolves from mutual distrust to a passionate love, set against a backdrop of political intrigue and divine machinations.
The strength of this novel lies in its richly detailed settings and the emotional depth of its protagonists. Persephone's journey from innocence to empowerment is both inspiring and engaging, while Hades’ complex character adds layers to their dynamic relationship. Rose skillfully balances the power dynamics between them, exploring themes of transformation, control, and redemption.
However, the book does have its weaknesses. Some sections suffer from repetitive descriptions and uneven pacing, which can occasionally disrupt the narrative flow. Secondary characters, including other gods and goddesses, sometimes lack depth, leaving readers desiring more substantial character arcs. Additionally, the novel relies heavily on familiar tropes of dark romance, which might feel overdone to seasoned readers of the genre.
Despite these shortcomings, "Vowed to Hades" offers an emotionally charged and immersive reading experience. Fans of mythological retellings, dark romance enthusiasts, and fantasy lovers will find much to enjoy. The novel's blend of intense emotions, rich world-building, and transformative journeys ensures it will resonate long after the final page is turned.
Overall, Athena Rose delivers a compelling story that breathes new life into an age-old myth, making "Vowed to Hades" a must-read for those seeking a dark and passionate escape into the world of gods and goddesses.
so the story is kind of all over the place and doesn't really follow suit with the other ones like it's almost its own story and only connects to the storyline of the series a few points. but it does seem to be more on track with the first two books in the way it's wrote. this is Hades and Persephone story and where she forgets her memories and is on her way with Hades to retrieve them. Hades makes a deal that he'll help them retrieve the body parts if he helps for Stephanie's retrieve her memories. but it seems after she kind of receives her memories that he kind of stops helping until the very end when there's pretty much going to be forced to because now Loki is going to play a role. story kinds of ends seems like there should be another book.
This book honestly felt rushed to me, I had high hopes for this one. I don’t feel like it ended how it should have like the ending made no sense like I’m glad persephone got her memories back but like what about the curse on Serena and Georgette did it get lifted can they have babies? Did Poseidon get resurrected? Are they free from Isis’s hold on them? Like I’m so confused? And the book that said continues the journey I can’t find anywhere I feel like we never get answers to what is going on in the books we just get thrown into and other book about someone else’s journey and the other characters plots get thrown in there but never answered.

This one has me thinking Hades wasn't all bad. There are so many sides to the conflicts in this book. I'm not sure who's side to be on. There are so many secrets, lies, and manipulation. I am hoping it all gets resolved in the next book.
What an amazing spin on sirens, demigods, deities and other mythical creatures! Our hero’s are still searching for truth and secrets, but the gods have other ideas. Can the gods be stopped?
This one was awesome! I am a sucker for Hades and Persephone retellings, especially the spicy ones. Just wished there would have been more of their side of all this instead of jumping around to everyone else.
2.25 — so much, TOO much, happened. what do you MEAN this one left on a cliffhanger?? i read this one with the expectation that i’d have finished the series.
Well I felt like the book was jumping from story to srory. There where side characters or stories that make the book hard to comprehend. Maybe because I didn't read previous books but still
this didn’t feel like a persephone and hades book at all, and everything seemed disconnected. we got a bunch of plot that probably ties into the other books of the series with crumbs of persephone and hades. i hoped for more
Hades was the brooding, mysterious love interest - powerful, intense, & impossible to ignore. His dynamic with Persephone? So much tension and chemistry.
Their relationship had that perfect slow burn with push & pull, and watching Persephone grow into her own power made their love story even more satisfying.
What sets this book apart is Athena Rose’s ability to seamlessly integrate the dark and intense themes associated with Hades into a compelling love story.
There were twists I didn’t see coming, the pacing was spot-on, and the stakes kept climbing.
If you’re into dark fantasy, drama, and myth-inspired romance, this one’s definitely worth picking up!
