As the best running back in the league, I have no shortage of women wanting my attention. And I’ve eaten that up since being drafted to the Boston Blizzard…until now. Ever since I met Dia Spencer, I haven’t been able to focus on anyone else. When we find ourselves outside a Vegas wedding chapel while celebrating the biggest win of my career, I shoot my shot and end up married for a night to the girl of my wettest dreams. But when I get the chance to keep her as my wife a little longer, I have to figure out a way to convince her to stay forever.
DIA
My life has been a series of unfortunate events. Aside from my best friend, everyone I’ve ever trusted has hurt and used me. I decided a long time ago to protect myself by never getting attached to anyone, no matter what. So, when Dalton Davis asks me to be his wife as part of the ‘full Vegas experience’, I give him one night. Then, it’s off to Splitsville. But when getting married proves to be a lot easier than getting divorced, I have to do everything I can to protect my heart from getting broken again…even if my new husband is showing me all the ways he wants to keep it safe.
I’m so freaking confused with the rating this book has.
HOW?! There is so much wrong with it.
First off—it’s the most unbelievable case of instalove. The guy SAW the girl and immediately decided she was the one, different than any other girl. Before she even opened her mouth? I got it, she was hot, but he slept with a ton of beautiful girls, so that made no sense. At least let them have one conversation before he decides to fall head over heels for her. Otherwise, it’s purely physical and impossible to be taken seriously as anything more than teenage hormones of some very immature adults. Oh, and not believable in the slightest.
Speaking of believable: how is it legal for parents to take credit cards in the name of their minor child? And why do those kids have to pay it off later on? That doesn’t sound very believable either.
Second off—Dia’s character arc makes no sense. She’s so independent she cannot have someone pour a bowl of freaking cereal for her, but she’s okay with taking a shit ton of money from him, from the sale of the ring he bought in the first place? Make it make sense.
Also, where is the snarky, witty and self-confident girl we met in Mads and Blaze’s book? This one is anything but. It’s like a completely different person all of a sudden, just for the sake of a plot. She’s acting absolutely stupid when it comes to her parents (really? After a lifetime of them being nothing but a disappointment, she lends them 100 grand, believing that this one time was going to be different? Based on what??). And then she meets a guy who likes her even more than she likes him, but decides to not even give them a fair shot, even though that’s all she wants and there’s no real obstacle standing in their way. But no, because ONE time she had a shitty boyfriend and her parents are assholes, so even if everyone else she holds dear loves her and cares for her, she decides she’d rather be broken and single foreva and eva. Make it make sense. Also, ever heard of therapy?!
I don’t say it often, but this mfc did not deserve the mmc and for the love of me, I can’t understand why he stood by her through it all and let her treat him like shit. She should have done some serious groveling at the end, at least. She didn’t and nobody in her life gave her any shit for that. Everyone was so freaking understanding (including his parents!), instead of telling her to stop acting like a teenage brat and get her shit together. Or, you know, get her ass to therapy.
Honestly, that was the most infuriating mfc I’ve seen in a long time. Liked her in the previous book, can’t stand her after that one. Dalton deserved so much freaking better.
To end on a positive note—the smut was smutting just right. Not thanks to the mfc, though.
Ok, now bring Tanner on. This one I’m actually excited about!
Dalton Davis is my favorite Boston Blizzard and this is a hill I am very willing to sacrifice myself on! I LOVE this man, like want to wish him into existence, LOVE THIS MAN.
Well the whole book really, because I ate up every single word of this. I didn’t stop, I didn’t breathe, I just devoured this. CL put some kind of actual witchcraft into it because I was hooked. I was also overheating because GOOD HEAVENS this book brought all the heat.

Dalton and Dia are in Vegas together with their friends after the Boston Blizzard wins the Super Bowl, and they impulsively decide to get married in Vegas for one night only. However the law has different ideas and they have to spend 6 weeks together before they can divorce. Dalton is determined to use that time to get his wife to fall in love with him.
Y’all this one is so good! I love these characters, Dalton is the perfect himbo golden retriever with just a hint of bite to him and Dia, our beautiful mess of a black cat tries so hard to resist him. As much as I ADORED Dalton, I related so much to Dia and felt her struggles. And I loved how much Dalton just plowed through them all. Like he didn’t care, she was his and he was going to keep her.
Also these characters are all hilarious sass-holes and I am here for the entire friend dynamic they have going on. TOP NOTCH banter all around.
And can we talk about spice! It was SPICING! All I’m going to say is read CH 26 and come back and thank me later (IYKYK). I love when the sweet ones are just a bit bossy, and Dalton is PEAK bossiness with a FILTHY MOUTH!
Now I’m just feral for more of these guys and need Tanner’s story because I LOVE these characters so much.

C.L. Rose is back, giving us yet another perfect man to drool over. I was in love with Blaze Beckham from Hot Route and absolutely FERAL for Maverick Moran. Now I can't get enough of Dalton Davis!
Run Game is the second book in the Boston Blizzard Series. We were introduced to Dalton and Dia in Hot Route. When Dalton meets Dia, he feels something for her he just can't shake. His vision is forever changed because all he can see is her.
While in Vegas celebrating, Dalton decides to give Dia the full Vegas experience, complete with a one-night-only Vegas chapel wedding performed by Elvis. The plan is to have it annulled the next morning, but they find out it's not that simple. This is great news for Dalton but not so much for Dia.
C.L. Rose has a special gift and creates amazing characters for her stories. Dia is one of the most relatable female characters I've ever read. I was super emotional reading about her childhood struggles and her relationship with her parents.
Despite the terrible cards dealt, Dia is resilient, dependable, and works hard to improve her life. It really broke my heart that she had to leave behind her dream of becoming a dancer because of the selfishness of her parents.
Dalton is everything. It's hard to put into words how much I love this man. His genuine concern and unconditional love for Dia are beautiful. He is patient and tries to show her she deserves real love. Dalton refuses to give up and wants Dia to be his woman forever.
I loved Dalton and Dia so much! They were perfect for each other. Everything about this book is perfect! The banter is top-tier, and the spice is spicing! Dalton speaks straight filth, and I loved every second of it.
I dropped everything I was doing and devoured this book. I've said it before, and I'll say it again: I will read every single thing C.L. Rose writes. Period, no questions asked. I can't wait for Daddy Tanner's story!
C.L. Rose, thank you so much for this e-ARC. Opinions expressed are my own.
Ok so devoured this; absolutely loved it. This is probably one of my favourite accidental marriage books I’ve read. Accidental but deep down on purpose for Dalton.
Man was DOWN BAD for Dia since he met her. He was an absolute golden retriever with the mouth of the devil. Holy damn; his mouth deserves 5 stars alone. CL Rose definitely didn’t come to play with that. I loved how he was all in with Dia, determined to keep her as his wife and show her exactly what he thought of her. Spoiler; he thinks she’s an absolute queen.
I loved Dia and I really felt for her a lot in this book. She’s been through it and she felt so lost and unworthy. But I loved that Dalton was able to show her her worth and literally worshipped the ground she walked on. I loved them so much and I am so glad she got her happy ending.
This book was way more emotional then I was thinking but i absolutely loved it. Such a great combo of plot, banter and spice.
I’m so ready for Tanner and thankful I’ve stumbled across this series!

Dia✨ Dia is my spirit animal. She has a witty mouth and is very independent. Unfortunately, she had a tough childhood with parents that didn’t care for her nor show her any love as a child. She had a shitty ex that made her feel she wasn’t worthy to be a wife. She has such a strong luck around her heat and the key is yet to be found until Dalton.
Dalton🤤 Dalton is a football player for the Boston Blizzards. He is the ultimate filthy, rich, sexy, thoughtful caring, patient, and PERFECT fictional man to ever exist.
From their first meeting, Dalton has been smitten over Dia. It was love at first sight for Dalton however for the Dia it was nothing but the opposite. Dia continuously rejects and insults Dalton’s flirtation and heart eye daggers. This does nothing to Dalton but encourages and makes him try even harder.
The Boston Blizzards win the Super Bowl and celebrating in Vegas. Dalton and his teammates are partying it up. Most of his teammates are accompanied with their girlfriends. Dalton and Davis end up hanging out alone that night. Dalton and Dia explore Las Vegas, where he leads them into a wedding chapel. Dalton quickly convinces Dia to get married which she agrees to only because it will only last one night. Little does she know, marriage to Dalton is far from one night only. In their one night, they give into temptation and lust 😻lord have mercy. The next day they find out their marriage can’t be annulled and they will have to stay married for 6 weeks.
Dalton makes it his life mission to prove and show Dia how much they are meant to be and how much he loves her. Dia was so scared, didn’t believe she was meant to be a wife, nor worthy of love. Throughout the book Dalton proves her wrong and shows her what love really is and how it feels to be loved.
This book was filled with so much spice and everything nice. It was so heartwarming to see Dalton, never giving up on Dia and consistently being there for her despite her frustration, fear, and pushback of their relationship/marriage. I’m happy Dia was able to heal from her past trauma from her parents and ex.
I would do anything to read this book again for the first time. C.L. Rose!! You are now on my favorite author. You write such beautiful smutty stories with hot men. I thought Maverick and Blaze were perfect but then you created Dalton😻
I am a fan of your work!!! I’m ready for the next book🫶🏽💙
Dnf’ed at 90% because I HATE when the couple break up for the most stupidest reason alive And I find dia soooo annoying especially after that divorce paper thing oh my gosh she doesn’t deserve dalton at all
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I feel like this book was made for me and me alone. There is absolutely NOTHING I love more than when a man is soft for her, completely down bad for her, and simply just cares for her. In all the ways. Every way. That’s what I found in Dalton and Dia.
Dia has had a shit life. No other way to put it. She bends over backwards for parents who only use her for financial gain, then again to bail her out when they need money. Her boss was a douche. Her ex boyfriend was a complete loser.. and now Dia feels like she’s unloveable, not wife material, and doesn’t deserve anything good in her life.
Enter Dalton. This man has been calling Dia his wife since THE DAY they met. The MOMENT they met. So when they’re in Vegas one night, why not marry her? It’s just the Vegas experience. No harm, they’ll just get an annulment in the morning.. right?
Well no. Not so simple. They must live together for another 6 weeks before they can officially file for divorce, and Dalton is determined to care for and love Dia so hard for that 6 weeks that she won’t want to leave.
This story was so sweet. There were multiple times Dalton made me tear up with his pure heart, his soul. You could tell he really was a great guy, and he loved Dia so much. Their banter was hilarious. Their sex was HOT AS F (no surprise there). And this was just the most beautiful story of true, pure, unfiltered love that I’ve probably ever read. They took the windy road to get their HEA, but man was it worth every second.
I’ll never forget them as long as I live. They were so so fun, and so sweet. If you’re looking for a “he cares for her” rec. this is one of the TOP books for that trope. One I’m quite fond of myself 😌🩵
if you all could hear my clapping- it would make my freaking day... but, you can't so just imagine it. I. AM. FREAKING. DEAD. FOR. THESE. TWO. (every . is a clap) haha
Seriously though, who died and said C.L. Rose gets all the badass words to write and create this amazing series, and I just wanna scream it from the roof tops. DALTON DAVIS UN FREAKING MATCHED.
Dalton is the star running back for the Boston Blizzards. He seems to be pretty keep to himself, and when he met Dia Spencer, he knew he she was going to be his. No matter how much she fought it, he was going to do everything he could to show her how loved she was despite her crap childhood, and actually adulthood.
Dia Spencer, Mads bestfriend, is closed off. She has locked her heart up so tight- it's never letting anyone in... until she finds herself alone- in Vegas with Dalton Davis- and he's asking her to marry him. When the day after plan backfires, and he gets her to agree to his terms before they go their separate ways, she just might find out how loved she is.
Honestly- ya'll can come for me ( haha no pun intended ) but- Dalton is my favorite. He shows up. time after time. he puts his heart on the line. and im just utterly in love with him. & he just may be the dirtiest boy ive ever read.... & im not mad about it.
The men C.L. Rose writes are just so freaking perfect. Like I cannot pick a favorite. Dalton is all the things. Sweet. Patient. Intuitive. Sexy. Just know that he is a simp and I love him.
Dalton is head over heels for Dia and doesn’t care who knows it. Even as she relentlessly shoots down his flirtation, he just keeps coming back for more. When the two end up getting married in Vegas and then have to stay married for 6 weeks before they can divorce, Dalton vows to use that time to prove to Dia that they could have something great, a love she’s never before experienced in her life.
From a young age, Dia has gotten used to having to do everything on her own. So when Dalton shows up being all “let me take care of you,” she freaks tf out. It really was so beautiful to watch him break her walls down as she slowly allows herself to trust someone with her heart.
As usual, Tanner is also in the background helping his friends through their lows, and I’m so glad his book is next because I can’t wait for his story!
I don't know if this just really hit the nail on the head for me or what but I was silently crying for a good third of the book. it was really good though and I think it hit on some very important points about love. im a hopeless romantic at heart and this book made that painfully clear.
This book was no different than the last in the series, I was also not able to put it down! The characters are just so lovable and you want them to live happily ever after.
I love a man obsessed book and Dalton is obsessed at first sight when he meets Dia. They are the respective best friends of the main characters from book 1, hot route, and they meet through them. Dalton is a super sweet and kind, thoughtful man and he just wants to show Dia that he’s not like them, meaning the people in her past who never showed her love and what she was worth. Dia is strong willed and fiercely independent. She never wanted to rely on anyone and kept people at arms length to protect her heart after being burned every time she let someone in.
They get married in Vegas because why not! And then they have to deal with the consequences since things in the morning don’t go as planned. This is everything Dalton could have hoped for since all he wants is a chance with Dia.
Also hi Cam Hardy👀 I love a cameo from another authors world. As soon as she said his name I was like could it be our very own puck boy!!!! It was
Dalton has become my new favorite MMC in the Boston Blizzard series. I couldn't put this book down. The chemistry and banter between Dalton and Dia is some of the best I've read. I laughed so hard at them at times. Not only was this book funny, but it was also emotional. I cried. Okay, I sobbed.
Dalton loves Dia so much. He knew what she needed at all times. Dia had a lot of trauma to work through and it made my heart ache for her. She deserved so much love and Dalton was perfect for her.
Also, the spice in this book. It was hot. That's all.
I'll give her every piece of me if it'll fill the holes others have left behind.
Awww my heart! Dalton is perfect - patient and understanding, and also very filthy… Dia is precious - seeing her realising her worth and learn to be loved was both emotional and heartwarming!
Genre: Contemporary romance Tropes: Vegas wedding, football off season, boy obsessed, grumpy x sunshine (he's sunshine), forced proximity, "my wife", (sort of) friends to lovers. Trigger warnings: No
"Fine, I'll go along with your stupid rules. But I have one of my own. While we're married, you're mine. I'll kiss you how I want. I'll fuck you how I want. And you drop that bratty little attitude and let me show you what it's like to have me as your husband."
ARC review: I couldn't keep the tears away at the last part of this book… This book was the perfect balance of banter, humor, emotion and spice. The characters were layered, wonderful and so damn lovable. The found family with the previous characters in this serios and Tanner was just amazing (and I can't wait for Tanner's book now)!
"I know you don't want me as your husband, but let me be your friend right now, Dia. Talk to me." "I thought it would be easy. I wanted to know that I was capable of being someone's wife, but I wanted it to be over before anyone got hurt."
Diamond 'Dia' Spencer had a difficult childhood and carries a lot of baggage from it, which especially causes her trouble with low self-esteem and the belief that she is lovable and people will stay in her life. Dalton *freaking* Davis, ladies and gents! He is a huge cinnamon roll, all the green flags, and completely obsessed with his 'Wifey'. Seriously, he is so swoony, and I just want him to be mine in real life, please and thank you. The way he had endless patience, a lot of understanding and just showered Dia in love was the perfect mix she needed in her life.
"What a fucking sight. My perfect wife spread across the kitchen table, dripping from every hole while she lets me do whatever depraved things I can think of to her body. You're a fucking dream, Dia."
It was very pure and sweet, as was the connection and bond they formed, when Dia slowly started letting her walls down. They became each other's best friend and closest confident, while also having a lot of fun, tension and incredibly chemistry! But don't let his swoony-self foul you, the dirty-talk and dominance spice-wise was on point! Seriously, the spice was spicing, and very imaginative… Dalton definitely could give both Blaze and Mav a run for their money.
The character growth in Dia was emotional to watch unfold. I really felt her struggle, her pain, but seeing her slowly realizing her worth and cutting out the toxic baggage was worth all the heartache. She really soars when she lets her walls down, and seeing her gravitate towards Dalton was just swoony - he stood at the ready, and something in her subconscious definitely recognized that.
I vow to myself that no matter what happens tomorrow, this woman will never face a single thing alone. Even if I can't convince her to give us a shot, I'll always be there. She deserves way more than this life has given her so far.
Even with low self-esteem/self-worth she was feisty and sassy and she definitely challenged Dalton. The way Dalton believed in Dia, and just supported her wholeheartedly was beautiful. He wasn't trying to change her, he just was there, believed in her and saw what a queen and badass bitch she is! He is the perfect hype-man! Also, 'Wifey' - seriously swoony!
ugh dia and dalton have my heart. i ate this book up but my heart also broke for dia and what she endured with her family.
dalton is the definition of love at first sight. i think they both just felt it the moment that they looked into each other's eyes. while they are in vegas celebrating their super bowl win, dalton takes dia around vegas to do things that she never had the chance to do. suprisingly enough, dalton ends up telling her they should get married because that is what people do in vegas and then they will get it annulled the next day before they leave. they go the next day and they cannot get it annulled since there is no valid reason. they end up going back home and keeping it a secret from their friends. they have to stay married for six weeks before the state can give them the divorce papers.
i love a good vegas wedding. this man is OBSESSED with this woman. he knows everything about her. the spice was there. the emotional parts. reading about dia's family and how they treated her (my poor baby) loved to finally read about dalton. dalton buying her her dream home. they have an amazing connection.
Highlights:
No matter how many times we're in close proximity, my heart always skips a beat when Dia's skin touches mine.
"Will you marry me?" "Depends, do I get half your shit?" "Baby, say yes and you can have all my shit."
I want her to stay and agree to be my wife. I want to show her how good I can be to her. How I can treat her the way she deserves.
My hope for him is that one day, he marries a woman that can give him everything he deserves. Someone that hasn't been broken and jaded by her past. Someone he can be proud of. That's not me. He deserves more.
"I'd spend a fucking lifetime undoing all the shit that people have done to hurt you. Proving to you that you're worth so much more than you think."
To my wife, I miss you. I hope these flowers brighten your day the way thinking of you brightens mine. Love, Dalton
"Do you love her?" "How can you love someone if they won't let you?"
The heart that I promised myself I'd never give away now belongs to Diamond Davis. And I'd let her break it time and time again if it meant that I got the chance to shower what being loved feels like.
Tropes: 💙 Vegas wedding 💙 Boy obsessed 💙 Reverse grumpy/sunshine 💙 "My wife" 💙 Forced Proximity 💙 Miss "I can do it myself" meets Mr. "Sit tf back down"
I am a massive fan of Blaze and Mads in Hot Route, the first book in the Boston Blizzards series. For a hot minute I thought that no man would ever replace him as my favorite Blizzard, but that was until Dalton Davis entered the chat. We first meet Dalton in Hot Route as Blaze's absolute delight of a best friend who is knocked a little bit off his feet by Mad's best friend Dia. As Run Game begins we see that he wasn't just knocked a little bit off his feet by her. He fell flat on his ass and was halfway in love with her before he was able to regain his balance.
After the Blizzards win the super bowl, Dalton, Dia, Mads, Blaze, and the rest of their friends head to Vegas to celebrate. On a whim, Dalton and Dia get married - a move that Dia is counting on lasting just for one night and that Dalton desperately hopes will last longer than forever. Obviously they can't get the annullment that Dia was hoping for, and they return to Boston still married - giving Dalton six weeks to convince Dia to give him a chance at forever.
Dalton is absolutely everything. He is kind, patient, and loving with Dia - who has had a hard life and is convinced that she is no one's forever and that she has nothing to offer anyone. He loves Dia enough for both of them, and tries his absolute best to give her everything she needs to feel safe and secure enough to give her heart to him. In Dalton, Dia finds the love and unwavering support that she has been looking for her entire life. And Dalton's steadfast refusal to be anywhere but by her side helps her slowly lower the walls she has build around her heart and finally let him in.
I loved Dalton and Dia with my whole entire heart. I loved them so much that I read this book from start to finish in one single night - absolutely unable to put it down until I had turned the last page. I love this Boston Blizzards universe so much, and I am so glad that Tanner's story is coming up next because I just want to live in this world forever.
I am completely addicted to this series, all of the characters, the author's writing. I go into each book just knowing I'm going to love it. I was blown away by Hot Route and I swear they just keep getting better.
Dalton has been pining for Dia since meeting her, but she has some thick walls built around her keeping him at a distance. While they are all in Vegas, he takes the opportunity to talk her into a quicky wedding. A way for them to have the full Vegas experience. The expectations are that it can be annulled the next day. Things aren't quite that simple though and they end up having to stay married for 6 months before they can file for divorce. Dia isn't happy about the arrangement, but Dalton plans to use that time to convince her that she should give him a real chance and stay with him.
Dalton is seriously perfect. He's incredibly thoughtful and supportive; and he can read her like a book. He just seems to know what she needs, when to push, and when to back off. The small things he did were so swoony worthy and the big things he did were huge. I also have a thing for a vulnerable hero, especially if they show a lot of emotion. I'll just say that Dalton gave me that in spades and ate it up. Dia had pretty terrible parents and was used and tossed aside for most of her life. She never really felt loved or knew the full extent of what it entailed. She has closed herself off to anything more than friendship, completely afraid to let anyone get close to her. It was heartbreaking to see how unsure of herself she was, how little she saw her value and worth. A man is not going to magically fix a woman's life and give her everything she needs to see her own self-worth. But this book did such a wonderful job of showing how Dalton created the foundation that created the support system and found family that helped her build the confidence she needed to thrive.
I can't say enough amazing things about C.L. Rose, or this series. I am well and truly obsessed.
C.L. Rose always finds a way to hook me into her books, and this one was no different.
I will start this by saying this one was different because it was hard hitting. It was hard hitting because it hit closer to home.
This book was so much more than I ever thought it would be. I thought it would be about a football player and his girl. Check and check. But this one went way deeper than I ever imagined.
Dalton is a man that so many women wish to have. Well, let me rephrase that. He is a man that so many women wish to have because he is so much more than a man with money. He is a man that cares. He is a man that lives with his whole being. He has been shown what love is whole life and he knows how to reciprocate. When he meets Dia, he knows that she is it for him. No one else could ever compare. He doesn't care about her past, or her future. Because he knows that he will do anything and everything to prove to her that he is the only person she will ever need when it comes to her husband.
Dia is such a great person. She has such a a great heart, and see nothing but the best in everyone. She wants to be loved by the people who should love her the most. She has struggled most of her life due to the environment she has grown up in, but she refuses to let that hold her back. She continues to perseverez but struggles personally to let people close to her. In comes Dalton, he gets under her skin in the best way.
At times I had to take a break and kind of gather myself and let myself feel my feelings. I knew what she was going through and at times I still struggle with those feelings. Being able to see it from an outsiders perspective gave me a better perspective. I was able to see that I am worthy of so much more than I think.
Like I said this book not only made me feel all the feels but made me think so much harder than other books that I have read. It made me see myself in another light. This book is held in a different regard than so many other books that I have read just based on that alone. This wasn't just a feel good book.
Let's Talk About 🌶️🌶️🌶️ Baby:
🌶️🌶️🌶️ STEAMY- If it's not for you- Skip Through This has some great scenes that I was like how could she top this? Then she did. Point. Blank. Period.
Thank you so much to C.L. Rose for making me feel so many things and helping me see myself in a better light.
Also for the complimentary copy. All opinions are my own, honest, and voluntary.
I am a complete fan girl for C.L. Rose after this book, and I will read anything and everything she writes! I can not believe I missed out on her first two books, but you best believe I will be going back and reading them ASAP!
Dalton has had a major crush on Dia since the moment he laid eyes on her. Dia is someone who doesn't let people in easily because she has been burned by too many people, including her own parents. So, she has kept Dalton as far away from her heart as she can. After Dalton's football team wins the Super Bowl, a group of them decide to celebrate in Vegas. Dalton sees an opportunity to get close to Dia and convinces her to a Vegas wedding with the promise to get it annulled the next day. She gives him one night, but when obstacles get in the way, one night turns into having to wait 6 weeks. Dalton sees it as an opportunity to show Dia how he can love her and care for her and maybe get her to fall for him, too.
THIS BOOK!! This freaking book! I went through all the emotions! Dalton had me smiling so much and then fanning myself the next! I was laughing out loud, giddy, and then I was crying so hard! C.L. broke my heart and then put it back together!
I loved Dia's growth through this whole book and how Dalton gave her the space to feel all her feels but made sure she knew how she should and would be taken care of with him. Dalton was the absolute best! He was attentive and supportive, and everything Dia needed. Dia, bless her heart, she tried so hard to push Dalton away, but that man wasn't going anywhere. She just needed to catch up! LOL. The banter between these two was perfection! And this spice!! WHOA! Get ready for it!
C.L. Rose!! What a fantastic job! You handled these hard topics so well, and I feel like you did Dia's character justice! Thank you, thank you, thank you for this ARC! And thank you, Wordsmith Publicity!
I have been patiently awaiting my girl Dia’s story and I just KNEWWWWW Dalton was gonna pull through for me. The definition of “if he wanted to- he would”
Dia has been through a lot in her life. The only person she’s ever been able to rely on being herself…and her best friend Mads. When the team travels to Vegas and she tags along for the celebrations, her long term admirer and Blaze’s best friend, Dalton, decides to turn his fun nickname for her into a reality. “Wifey” becomes a reality when these two find out they’ll have to stay married for a little longer than anticipated.
Alexa, play Down Bad by Taylor Swift because HOLY SH*T this man loves this woman with every fiber of his being. I feel like Dalton looks at Dia the way I look at a crispy Mcdonald’s diet coke….like it will literally cure my depression. TBH- I think Dalton could cure my depression too. As this man slowly works to break down Dia’s walls and in turn Dia starts to learn to trust and rely on someone else I SWOONED. I kicked my feet. I giggled. I gasped. Because not only is Dalton the epitome of a golden retriever but he has a FILTY (in the best way) MOUTH. OOOOOF 🥵
These two honestly had me feeling a full roller coaster of emotions. I laughed with them. Cried with them. Literally wanted to scream at them and shake them (Dia mostly). These two turned each other’s worlds upside in the very best ways….even if it took one of them *cough* DIA *cough* some time it was the most beautiful journey of love and acceptance and growth.
Ok all of the hints, nudges, easter eggs and nods to Tanner’s story have had me chomping at the bit….I cannot WAITTTT for this next one!!
Well, this book has been quite the surprise! This isn't one of my usual reads and I haven't read anything by this author before but something told me to pick this one up and I am so glad I did! This has been a fantastic read! The characters are so well written and each and every one of them bought something different. They were all so likeable and very enjoyable to get to know! Dalton was a such a Golden Retriever but has a dominant side and I am here for it! The way he felt about Dia was so sweet! Doing whatever he could to make her see that they are perfect for each other. Given Dia's childhood and the way she grew up, she has put up such big walls. I feel sorry for her, she doesn’t want to get close to anyone, because to her, everyone leaves. Dalton, was persistent and never gives up, he wants to show Dia what it is like to have someone take care of her and be there for her the way she deserves. It scares Dia how Dalton is making her feel and she uses wit and sarcasm to keep him at arm's length. I loved her character and I think there are a lot of us that relate to the struggles she goes through. The banter and the connections of all of these characters was first rate, everything about this story was fabulous! It had everything and was such a well-rounded book! These two characters had such a connection. I loved that they had formed this bond and had become friends, even if they did things backwards. This author will definitely be on my radar going forward and I can't wait to read more!
This book had me in a chock hold from the beginning! I swear I binged "Run Game" in just a few hours. The spice and depth of the characters Dia and Dalton are so relatable.
Dia comes from a broken family and is strong and independent. She does not trust or let people in easily. Dalton is kind and sweet and refuses to give up on Dia. He shows her what it's like to be loved without needing to give anything in return.
It all starts with a Vegas Wedding. The spice and chemistry between the two main characters is off the charts! I had to keep a straight face while reading this book with my husband in the same room!!! lol.
The struggles and triamps of Dia and Dalton's relationship blossom pulled at my heart strings. I laughed and cried while rooting for Dia and Dalton to end up together in the end.
Dalton: "And I'll do whatever it takes to make her happy. Even if it breaks me completely in the end." 🥹

“I vow to myself that no matter what happens tomorrow, this woman will never face a single thing alone. Even if I can’t convince her to give us a shot, I’ll always be there. She deserves way more than this life has given her so far.”
I knew from the moment I met Dia + Dalton they would be my fav couple.
Dia’s character is so relatable. She’s fierce, resilient, and extremely independent. She struggled with a difficult childhood growing up on top of dealing with a crappy ex, who made her feel unworthy, but life slowly falls into place when she reluctantly agrees to a Vegas wedding with Dalton. I adore Dia so much and was amaze at her growth throughout this book. She eventually let her walls down and allowed Dalton into her life.
Dalton is a football player for the Boston Blizzard. From the very moment he met Dia, he fell head over heels and was 100% all in, and it love at first sight for him. After winning the super bowl, Dalton and his teammates, as well as the girls head to Vegas to celebrate, which leads to him + Dia, secretly getting married.
As Dia + Dalton get to know one another, Dalton tries to prove to her that she’s the one for him. He tries to show her how worthy and important she was. Not once did Dalton give up on their relationship/fake marriage, despite Dia pushing him away not once, but many times. This man was willing to make it work and promised her the world. I devoured and was loving every moment of the “MY WIFE” scenes.
C.L. Rose, you have truly outdone yourself. I swear each book in the series gets better than the last. I truly fell in love with their story and I am looking forward to Tanner’s book!
What to expect: 🩵 Vegas wedding 💍 Reverse grumpy x sunshine 🩵 Boy obsessed 💍 Forced proximity 🩵 “My wife” 💍 Miss “I can do it myself.” meets Mr. “Sit tf back down.”
This book is so darn good I finished it in a day and a half. @authorclrose writes it, I’m reading it!
Dia Spencer, Mads bff (Hot Route), has a troubled past and because of that has no desire to open herself up to love or a relationship. Dalton Davis, running back for the Boston Blizzard, fell hard and fast for Dia the moment he laid eyes on her. When they’re in Vegas celebrating a Super Bowl win they decide to go for the full “Vegas” experience and end up married assuming they could get it annulled the next day. Well, it can’t be that easy right?
I’m obsessedddddd with Dalton & Dia’s story! He’s the yin to her yang! The banter, the spice, the LOVE…all of it was so addicting and fun to watch unfold on each page. I mean, the way it almost had me sobbing in bed at 2am should tell you something. I swear he might be the perfect fictional man 😂 but we’ll see if I change my tune once Tanner comes along!
I am OBSESSED. C.L. Rose did not come to play with this one!!!
Dalton and Dia find themselves in Vegas after a Super Bowl win with all of their friends.. but after they find themselves alone they start coming up with an unhinged plan. Get married for one night and forget all their responsibilities and then get it annulled in the morning right?? HA
Dia doesn’t do relationships… but something about Dalton has her not being able to say no and going along with this crazy plan. After their nights of bliss they go to get it annulled and they can’t. Now they have to go back home, move in together, and get divorced in 6 weeks. (But not if Dalton has anything to say about it). Dalton wants Dia forever. She is it for him.
This book had me giggling, swooning, sweating ( the spice doesn’t come to play ), and don’t forget how many times I freaking cried. This is such an emotional read in some parts but it was so beautiful and I loved every freaking second.
This one releases on 4/25/24 and you NEED to read this. (If not, you’re missing out)

Dia and Dalton are adorable, but to be honest Dalton stole my heart from start to finish!
Dia’s character has had several obstacles and challenges thrown her way since she was young and therefore built walls around her heart in order to protect herself. But Dalton, this kind, passionate, caring wide receiver wants nothing more than having the opportunity to show her just how much love she deserved. I loved him from start to finish! Dalton has a spontaneous side, he wanted nothing but the best, and was willing to give Dia all the space she needed in order for her to process and be supported!
Can’t wait for the next part in the series as C.L Rose has done a fabulous job!
I loved this book! The energy, the love, the past hurt. All of it fit so well so make Dalton and Dia’s story complete. Dia is a head strong, independent, takes no shit kind of girl with a lot of hurt from her past that caused her to build up walls. Dalton is a free spirit, funny, charismatic man full of light that came barreling through to break down all of Dia’s walls. Their love took time but grew so strong from love and support. The spicy scenes were hot as sin! These two were the definition of opposites attract. I am soo ready for Tanner’s book next! Ive been waiting to read his story since I first read Wild Pitch!
Dia and Dalton were a great addition to this series 🩵 the two decide to get married in Vegas for fun and plan to divorce. Dalton has been obsessed with Dia since they met, remembering all of her favorite things. Soon the two discover it’s more difficult to divorce then they thought. Dia has a lot from her past to work through before these two can have their HEA!
I’m really enjoying this series and can’t wait for more 😍
