Fighting to survive, Mystic Elton takes one look at the man standing in front of her and knows she needs to make a decision – does she want to live? Discovering that her boyfriend is storing enough drugs to supply a small country, she looks for an escape route. He’s standing in the doorway – standing in the way of her freedom. Mystic has nothing left – no family, no friends, no one she can rely on. She is all alone and frightened. Managing to get past her ex, she flees, running to the other side of the country, landing in Seattle, she changes her appearance, her name, her life.
After a year, she begins to feel safe. Her ex won’t find her. She’s beginning to pick up the pieces of her once shattered existence and carve out a new world for herself.
That is, until a tall, well-dressed man shows up at her job and tells her they need to talk – and he knows her real name. Fleeing to get away from him, she rushes to the back room and grabs her Taser. When she hits him with it, she thinks she’s home free.
She’s not.
All Mystic has done is really tick off Bryson Winchester, and all he’s trying to do is help her by getting her scum of an ex off the streets.
Mystic has a choice to make. Is this a man she can believe in? Is any man worthy of her precious trust? She’ll find the answers, though they may not be what she expects or wants – her entire world is about to be turned upside down, because not only will she find there are some men out there worth trusting – she will find out the secret of her birth – the reality of who she really is.
Some things should stay in the past – and others… Other things will come back with a vengeance.

This book is so different than the others in the series. I'm happy the author decided to give us this book!! Yet I'm disappointed with Misty's story. There was way too much narrative and not enough dialogue!!! Why wasn't Damien and the Anderson's introduced sooner?????? Why did the book focus mostly on issues with Jesse??? I became bored and started skimming.
This is the fifth book of the Tycoons series from Melody Anne.. and to me the best so far...From Misty I felt every feeling.. every fear. all her mistrust... At times she is broken and at others she is strong... As for Damien boy oh boy who would not like him in their life.. I loved catching up with the Anderson's and especially the Matriarch of the family scheming Joseph... When Misty first met Damien made me cry.. I stayed awake all night reading this book I just could not put it down.. I will not give the story away I detest spoilers.. You really have to read this series.. you cannot go wrong.. Thank you Melody Anne for writing such awesome books.. as an author YOU ROCK !!!
I really enjoyed this one! I loved the crime, running, witness protection, and bad cop aspect.
I loved Bryson! I want a Bryson. :)
This story had something going on constantly and I was never bored. I loved the Anderson family meeting, the bad guy /witness protection aspect, Bryson and Misty's romance build up.
For me this book was a disappointment. The Lost Tycoon did not live up to the other four books in the 'Baby for the Billionaire' series. The main problem was the redundancy of the self talk by the heroine. The same statements were used over and over again thus the reason I began to skim and skip, but I did push through to the end as I don't like to leave a book unfinished.
In this book we have Misty Elton, a woman who grew up as an orphan and has no one or nothing left in her life. For years she has been controlled, raped, beaten and abused by a dirty cop and has been unable to get away from him. (I don't buy that! The guy had to work forty hours a week, and personally, I think anyone with some ingenuity could manage an escape, especially when she had a job as well.) So I didn't buy that part of the book. It just didn't appear to be realistic.
And then there was a gorgeous FBI Special Agent by the name of Bryson (made me constantly think of Bison) who is trying to put the dirty cop away. He is protecting her in a safe house of sorts and at a certain point he swore he would not leave her side until the guy was put away. But after a small trip he receives a call and decides to leave her to go take care of someone else and she walks right into a trap. I guess I should mention that he is in love with her and wants to spend the rest of his life with her but, yet, he leaves her at the airport to find her own way home...after promising not to leave her side. That pretty much did it for me. It was just too formulaic.
I was also hoping we may reconnect with the others from the previous four books but that really didn't happen. Yes we met one couple and a cousin but I was hoping for the whole shebang. If you have been reading the series then I would recommend you read this. If you are reading this as a stand alone then, if it were me, I would skip it.
This was book five, in the tycoon series. I loved all the books in this series. Each book is a stand alone. I have read all the books, but out of order, and I didn't feel lost, or confused.
This was the third time I have read this book, and I enjoyed it as much this time as I did the first.
Misty was in a abusive relationship with a dirty cop. She knows she has to run away from him, and hide, or he will kill her. Bryson is a FBI agent that wants her ex off the street, and behind bars. He needs Misty to testify against her ex. He is there to protect her. I love the action, and suspense to this story. Misty pulled me right in to this story. My heart went out to her. She is one strong, and brave lady. I said Bryson was there to protect her, but Misty protected herself when push came to shove. She was not going to die without a fight. This book had action, suspense, a solid plot, and romance. This is one of my favorite books.
Warning must have a strong stomach for some of the abuse in this book.
Raised in foster care without a family or a name when she was abandon as an infant. Now Misty is an adult and life isn't must better. Running and hiding fearing for her life. Jesse, the bad cop, ex-boyfriend taught her not all cops are good and you can live through a lot of abuse.
So when she meets Bryson the FBI agent she isn't coming easy.
These two fall in love while not in the best situation, toss in some action, a secret, and some excitement and there you have it.
Fantastic story!!! Another well-written story by Melody Anne. A touching, heartwarming and bittersweet journey to finding true love. . . I love how the romance between Bryson and Misty came about. You will feel all the emotions the author has put into words. Great book!!!
While this book was different from the others in the series, I really enjoyed it! I love when the bad guy gets what is owed him. The suspense throughout was just enough, and the romance was endearing.
Misty Elton had lived her entire life never feeling love, having been shipped from one Foster home to another and finally living on the streets, she never had anyone that cared for her other then the fact that they were getting paid to so. She thought that her life was looking up when Jesse started paying attention to her. Cops are good, they are there to protect and serve but Misty learned very quickly that not all cops are good. In fact there were way too many that would turn a blind eye when one of their own had gone bad. She knew that her time was up when she accidentally discovered his secret stash. She had to get out now or she wouldn't make it out alive and would be just another that he had killed like he had claimed to have done to so many others.
FBI Agent, Bryson Winchester knew the minute he saw her that it was the women that he'd been looking for for the past year. She couldn't hide under makeup and color contacts. Now that they had found her came the tricky part though, getting her to testify against her ex boyfriend so that they could put him away for a vary long time. He didn't count on her fighting back thinking that he was just another crooked cop and he really didn't count on having a hard time keeping his feelings in tact.
This was by far the best book in the series. Books 1-3 were nothing like any of the other books that I had read of Melody Anne's and I wanted to give up in the series. Book 4 was better but this book...a five star read all the way. Misty had been through so much and she was still fighting. She fought for her freedom she fought for love.
Favorite Quote: “Sometimes, things aren't always black and white. Not everything can be placed in a box and neatly tied together with a pretty bow. Just know that, no matter what, I have your best interests in mind.”

The Lost Tycoon is the final installment for Baby for the Billionaire by Melody Anne. Misty Elton recently escaped a very bad relationship and started living her new life hiding. Bryson Winchester is an FBI agent assigned to investigate Misty’s ex-boyfriend Jesse. What I like about Misty is that she is a survivor and a fighter. As for Bryson, he is loyal and dedicated.
Misty has been through a lot and it’s nice to see her fight for herself not just physically as wells as emotionally and mentally by being a witness against Jesse. This kind of gives inspiration to other women who are being abused and wanted to fight for themselves. I also like it when Damien and Misty met for the first time it its very touching and sweet. Most especially the Andersons they are hilarious.
Like the previous books in the series, this is a nice sweet story. I suggest you read the Billionaire Bachelor series to know more about the Andersons 😉.
Melody Anne is a very good author. The Lost Tycoon is my 5th book I have read by this author and I have loved everyone of her books.
The Lost Tycoon is about a young woman named Misty. She grew up in foster care having had her mother leave her at a fire station when she was a baby. There was a note left by her mother that stated that Misty had a brother named Damien. When she became an adult she was in a abusive relationship with a dirty cop.
I would give the sensual level to this story a 7 out of 10. Strong story with likable characters, how can you go wrong.....
It was a torture journey to finish it. I didn't like the heroine's monologues, too much negativity it caused emotionally drained. Also there was no chemistry between Misty and Bryson, the romance felt forced. The half star is for the suspense at the climatic part and admittedly that is the only best scene in the story.
Great book Melody Anne I loved the story of Misty and Bryson there was so much drama in the beginning of the book I simply couldn't put it down. I hated to stop reading for a couple of hours so I could go somewhere. I don't want to give anything away so I will just say, you have to read this one it is great
I enjoyed this book so much! OMG I'm following this series for like, years, and I couldn't get enough! Melody Anne's writing is always superb but one thing that irked me, simply the plot I think. I want more drama and more intensity. Hopefully Melody Anne could deliver them again just like she used to.
I love Misty and Bryson story. I hope you enjoy it too.💜Here is a highlight from the book!!!💜💜💜
“Oh, that sounds beautiful, but something like that would be priced far too high for me. Plus , it would probably be wiser for me to be close to town so I can get a good job while I go to school.”“It’s only about a ten-minute drive to town, Misty, and the roads stay plowed in the winter. It only gets bad when a freak storm hits.”“Still…”“The price is right, too. It would only take one piece of paper and you could own the place,” he said, unbelievably nervous as he lay down next to her and looked into her eyes. “What? I’m confused,” she said as she reached up and ran her fingers through his short hair. “Marry me , Misty. Come home with me and live in the mountains of Montana. Let’s fill our log cabin with a dozen pets, and hopefully a few two-legged creatures as well.” Her eyes grew big , and he couldn’t believe how frightened he was that she might turn him down. His heart was in his throat. “Are you sure, Bryson? I mean, maybe it’s just the adrenaline from the situation, or maybe you think you love me and you don’t, or maybe —”“I love you, Misty , more than I could ever show you. Yes, our relationship has been intense, but that’s not why I love you. I love you because I can’t go a single day without thinking of you, and when I thought I could lose you, my world stopped having any meaning. I love you because you make me want to be a better person. I love you because you’re you.” The truth of his words shone brightly in his eyes. She was silent for a minute, and his heart thudded as he waited on her verdict. “I love you , too, Bryson, so much more than I thought I was capable of loving anyone. I want all of that and more.” Tears of elation welled up in her eyes and a bright smile flashed across her face. Bryson pulled her into his arms and held her close, knowing that his future was now set. There wasn’t anything they couldn’t accomplish as long as the two of them were together. He planned on a lot of beautiful tomorrows.
Didn’t feel any chemistry between these two, no heat or connection. Though this starts of differently in nature and is done reasonably well, it does start off with an abuse situation which could be a trigger for some readers. I just never felt any real sympathy for Mystic, (stupid name, no wonder everyone calls her Misty). She has apparently tried to escape from the corrupt policeman who enjoys brutalising her once before, with dire consequences. The fact we don’t get a clear and concise telling of everything that she has already gone through prior to starting this story, makes it hard to feel anything other than contempt for her. Why has she not attacked Jesse, or tried to contact the CIA as she asked a fellow employee to do. By not knowing all these parts of the back story, you do not know if she has earned any respect by trying to save herself. Bryson was likeable but his leaving her at the airport, after promising to always stay with her and protect her, was too contrived. Yes, he has a valid reason for having to rush off and does make sure her safe house is checked, but that didn’t end well for the poor agent involved. You knew at that point that Jesse was going to get his hands on her again. I fully agreed with Bryson about doing the DNA test on the quiet. No point getting everyone’s hopes up or emotions mixed. I loved the interaction between Misty and Damien, especially when they met for the first time, it was so sweet and heart-warming. We get the baby part right at the end to have this fit into the BABY FOR THE BILLIONAIRE series. I was more pleased to read about Damian and Selena than I was invested in Bryson and Mystic. Read in the box set through Kindle Unlimited but I have to say I have not enjoyed this series half as much as some of the others by this author.
Overall opinion: I liked this much better than the last two books by far! My only major gripes are:
1. The State or Government prosecutes a case and the charged use defense attorneys to defend against the charges! Got a kick out of the error! 🤣
2. The H realizes something about the h, quietly finds out if he is correct or not so she does not get her hopes up because she has bad anxiety. Once she finds out, she blows up and acts like an idiot, even though her life will be changed for the better because of it!
3. The h constantly goes nuts over thinking and falling to the negative side, then immediately finds out that all is good. Must be exhausting to be her brain! 😉
Bad guy is evil bad. Good guy is solid good. The h is a rabbit who always runs easily.
Brief Summary: No need to expand on the author's summary.

Additional Thoughts?
This would have been a 3.5 star book but the author mentioned my favorite author that cemented my love for reading - Dean Koontz!
The Lost Tycoon: Baby for the Billionaire Book 4 is by Melody Anne. This book is different from the others in that it is not about one of the three cousins; but from a lon- lost cousin. Misty Elton was tired of being abused. She was determined to leave as soon as she could; but she made the mistake of looking for a sweatshirt. She found cocaine instead. Now Jesse was angry with her. She managed to get away from him this time and headed somewhere to hide. Could she keep away from him? If he found her, he would kill her. Special Agent Bryson Winchester and his partner Special Agent Axel Carlson had finally tracked down Misty Elton. She was wanted as a witness to the corruption of Police officer Jesse Marcus. It was their duty now to keep her safe if she decided to testify against him. Could they do this?
Disappointing and Depressing Series. I liked the Anderson Billionaire books and was looking forward to reading this related series. However all of the Tycoon books seem to be disappointing and depressing. Battered women (and abused children) are important issues that deserve to be addressed, but these stories do a disservice by not addressing the issues realistically. The "bad guys" are psychotic, the heroines are naive to the point of stupidity, and although this book's hero was the best in the series, the Tycoon heroes often act like jerks you wouldn't want to know. I kept hoping the next book would be better, but I'm giving up and would recommend that other readers avoid all of the Tycoon series. I hate to give bad ratings but 2 stars was the highest I could give any of the Tycoon books.
This story is an emotional rollercoaster it is engaged and full of amazing moments with some of my favorite characters. I love how understanding and caring Bryson is. He knows that he has to be patient and understanding. He brings excitement into Misty life.
Misty has suffered and doesn't know how special she is. She's beautiful and smart. A true survivor. I love her connection with Bryson. They build a friendships that turns into a steamy love match.
This story is amazing and connects all the books together. I really love and enjoy this series. The characters are mischievous, loving and so much fun to read. This series teaches us that family is important and that together beautiful dreams can be accomplished. I absolutely recommend this amazing story.
I’ve loved each book in this series. I felt for Misty as she has to escape and hide from her ex. Loved how quickly F.B.I. agent Byron falls for her. He can’t wait to close up the case so he can be with her. Loved how shocked she is by who her family is, it’s very heartwarming. But will she stay safe? Loved getting updates from prior characters and loved their happy ever after. I highly recommend this book. I also own the boxed set that has the 5 books in this series. Now there’s a 6th book and I’m going to read it next. These books are worth re reading.
I have submitted this review after listening to the audiobooks for this series.
This isn't the Tycoon lavish lifestyle, as per other episodes. This is the day to day struggle for survival, warped by the power hungry cop, Jessie, that uses his uniform to lull women into a safe security because of what the uniform should represent. However, this particular man, shames that uniform, by his sadistic use of his power over people. Off course we have the good guys, fitting the good fight, as well as a mutual attraction. They make this tale well worth reading or listening to .
Baby for the Billionaire book 5. Misty was abandoned as a child. Then she fell in with a bad cop. He abused her. She escapes and goes into hiding but it's a bewildered journey. In steps Bryson, badass FBI, on the hunt for her ex. He needs her help to put the monster in jail. She is stronger than she knows. There is a super special attraction between the two. As they fall for each other, she finds out there is a family out there searching for her. This is a beautiful story. Gut wrenching, angsty, dramatic smexy and hopeful.
This book is The Lost Tycoon, book 5 in the Baby For The Billionaire series, written by Melody Anne. In this book we meet Misty, who has had a rough life and is currently being held in an awful situation by a very unsavory man. This book has more twists and darkness than the others. Nothing like taking the sexy FBI guy within the first few minutes of meeting him, huh? Bryson is the poor man that gets stunned while only trying to help Misty. Don't miss this one!
The whole series is incredible. I love it and I know you will love it too. Melody Anne creates a wonderful world for the Andersons and their friends. I love the family and how they’re for each other. For them friendship is an extension of the same warmth and love the show to each other and are friends for life. It’s beautiful and if you haven’t already read the Anderson’s books this would be a good time to start. Until the next one. I’ll be waiting...
Bryson and Misty's story is a very good story. I had been disillusioned with the first three books in this series. Damien and Sierra's book started the redemption of this series for me. And now with Damien's lost sister and her tragic life...and Bryson Winchester coming into the picture makes for a suspensful read. The title of the series has not stuck with the last two stories. They are having babies too close to the epilogue, so it does not match as an important part of the plot.
