When I'm not up to my knees in nappies, I write children's books. I also spend a fair amount of time eating chocolate. I try to write funny, read-aloud books that parents will enjoy as much as children - after all, if you have to share the same stories umpteen times, you may as well enjoy them. I hope you like my books enough to read them umpteen times. Thank you - Michelle.
A guaranteed way to get kids to interact with the book as you read it. SUPER fun and exciting! And the best part is that they all go to sleep at the end so it’s a perfect bedtime book to get out that last bit of energy before nighttime.
“He stood up on his tiptoes and he slashed his giant claws. ‘Now open wide,’ he shouted, ‘let’s all chomp our dino jaws!’ Chomp, CHOMP, chomp! Let’s do the dinosaur! One, two, three and Everybody ROAR!”
I've read this book so many times, so I think it should count towards my book challenge. This is one of my kid's favorite books. It's a bit longer than the books he usually likes, so I've always been surprised by his excitement with it. Now that he's gotten a little older and more expressive, it seems like he likes the contrast of the characters on the big pages with plain backgrounds, the rhythm of the story (lots of rhyme and repetition), and the really big, red T-Rex.
This was a free book that we got from nursery as part of the book trust programme and we really enjoyed. We love rhyming books but a lot of books don't do the rhythm and flow well. This one does! It a humorous story which encourages the reader to copy the actions, which my son really enjoyed doing and getting me to do. This is a story that can be re-read loads of times and my son absolutely loves. We would definitely recommend it for your little one.
This was so stinking cute! It reminded me a lot of the "Walk the Dinosaur" song by Was (Not Was) with the repetition and copy-cat style of speaking used in the book. I think this would make a fantastic addition to my upcoming dinosaur themed storytime and the kids will love following along with Tom and the other dinosaurs as we read.
Today was my first day with my very first class!! One of the lovely girls I’ll be teaching brought this in from home to share with the class! They all loved it and joined in when the dinosaur “ROARED” 🥹🥰
Tom (a boy dressed in a dinosaur costume) invites his dinosaur friends to copy him and "do the dinosaur." The reader will have fun playing along doing the actions. This is a fun and beautifully illustrated story in bouncy rhyme, and with a surprise twist.
