When Roger solves the Riddle of Fives, he has an epiphany, and comes to understand the motive for the destruction and chaos that has occurred. Vengeance for Gabriel by Robert Borneman is a well-written crime thriller about attacks by an international arms dealer against the FBI. The bad guys are bad, the good guys are good, and the main protagonist and his female fellow agent are heroic. The plot revolves around revenge against the FBI, and the narrative twists and turns with the usual genre format requisites. Characters are stereotypical, but well-drawn, and the bad guy is evil--also stereotypical. If you enjoy this sort of formulaic thriller, you will enjoy this book.

The Scary Dark Side!

Borneman starts the story off with a bang or an explosion targeting an FBI building. Agent Roger Quaid watches the building collapse from his penthouse. He is powerless to do anything and fearful his son is inside. The situation worsens when threatening messages appear on Agent Quaid's phone for only seconds and then disappear without a trace. The FBI Artificial Intelligence (AI) gurus go into a tailspin when they realize their agency was hacked, unable to determine how or by whom!

Agent Quaid and his partner, Michelle Woods, are battling against time to find the demon perpetrating the attacks on FBI buildings, resulting in the deaths of key personnel.

It's an intriguing tale you don't want to miss!

Vengeance for Gabriel by Robert Borneman, starts with a bang that grips the reader down to the last page, as the author delves into the mind of a psychopath who uses his hi-tech skills, and the dark web as his playground, in an attempt to bring down the FBI.
The story has mindboggling twists as agents Roger Quaid, Michelle Woods, Susan Harlow and a large assembly of agents from different law enforcement agencies, pit their minds against this archcriminal, know to some as 'The Christian' after he carries out a major bombing attack, taking the lives of many of their friends and colleagues.
This is a fast-paced thriller with well-crafted twists that kept me turning the pages, as I followed the team in their efforts to put their minds together and solve the riddle of the three fives, before 'The Christian' can claim more lives and destruction.

fascinating tale

Vengeance For Gabriel is a taut, intelligent thriller that delivers nonstop suspense from start to finish. FBI agent Roger Quaid is thrust into the most explosive investigation of his career, racing against a shadowy adversary who leaves behind riddles and chaos. The “Riddle of Fives” adds a brilliant layer of complexity, leading to a chilling revelation that transforms the case into an international manhunt.

Author Robert Borneman masterfully balances psychological intrigue with high-octane action, crafting a story that is as emotionally compelling as it is thrilling. With sharp pacing, a deeply human protagonist, and clever twists, this is a standout read for any fan of modern crime fiction.

The FBI is under attack

An international arms dealer begins a 5 act play of revenge on the FBI for the death of his twin brother.

Explosions targeting sensitive FBI buildings followed by the kidnapping and torture of an agent, broadcasted on the dark web, pressure from a selfish uncaring President and the urgency of the next 555 attack drive
the agency team to find the culprit fast.

This book has a great plot, decent characters and plenty of action

amazing!

This was a wild ride from start to finish. There were twists I never saw coming that kept me turning the page. It got a little intense at times, but that only added to the mystery. Characters were well developed. I especially liked quaid. He was smart while still being believable.

Decent Read, Details Slow the Pacing

I feel the prose moves a little too slowly for a crime thriller. The writing isn’t excellent, but there are far too many details to keep the pace up. The protagonist, Roger Quaid, is a strong character and perfect for the leading role. However, much like the details, there were far too many characters to keep track of.

I liked the international flavor of this novel-- from the villain to the good guys -- with a splash of FBI vs. CIA intrigue. I enjoyed the two main characters and the family connection between them (father/son). Looking forward to the next one! Good read.
