The FBI's infrastructure is under attack. Roger Quaid is the agent thrust into leading the most significant bombing investigation in the history of the FBI. Roger is tasked with identifying and locating an adversary who always seems to remain a step ahead of him. Roger struggles to make sense of riddles and clues left to intentionally torment him. The challenge of locating his suspect becomes even more agonizing when a near-death experience slows him down, while the bombing attacks continue. When Roger solves the Riddle of Fives, he has an epiphany, and comes to understand the motive for the destruction and chaos that has occurred. He also uncovers the fact that the perpetrator of these heinous acts has a much more sinister objective than the FBI had initially believed. Eventually Roger learns the truth, as his investigation morphs into an international manhunt in an attempt to apprehend his elusive suspect.
Vengeance for Gabriel by Robert Borneman is a well-written crime thriller about attacks by an international arms dealer against the FBI. The bad guys are bad, the good guys are good, and the main protagonist and his female fellow agent are heroic. The plot revolves around revenge against the FBI, and the narrative twists and turns with the usual genre format requisites. Characters are stereotypical, but well-drawn, and the bad guy is evil--also stereotypical. If you enjoy this sort of formulaic thriller, you will enjoy this book.
Borneman starts the story off with a bang or an explosion targeting an FBI building. Agent Roger Quaid watches the building collapse from his penthouse. He is powerless to do anything and fearful his son is inside. The situation worsens when threatening messages appear on Agent Quaid's phone for only seconds and then disappear without a trace. The FBI Artificial Intelligence (AI) gurus go into a tailspin when they realize their agency was hacked, unable to determine how or by whom!
Agent Quaid and his partner, Michelle Woods, are battling against time to find the demon perpetrating the attacks on FBI buildings, resulting in the deaths of key personnel.
It's an intriguing tale you don't want to miss!

Vengeance for Gabriel by Robert Borneman, starts with a bang that grips the reader down to the last page, as the author delves into the mind of a psychopath who uses his hi-tech skills, and the dark web as his playground, in an attempt to bring down the FBI. The story has mindboggling twists as agents Roger Quaid, Michelle Woods, Susan Harlow and a large assembly of agents from different law enforcement agencies, pit their minds against this archcriminal, know to some as 'The Christian' after he carries out a major bombing attack, taking the lives of many of their friends and colleagues. This is a fast-paced thriller with well-crafted twists that kept me turning the pages, as I followed the team in their efforts to put their minds together and solve the riddle of the three fives, before 'The Christian' can claim more lives and destruction.

This book has a great plot, decent characters and plenty of action
This was a wild ride from start to finish. There were twists I never saw coming that kept me turning the page. It got a little intense at times, but that only added to the mystery. Characters were well developed. I especially liked quaid. He was smart while still being believable.
I feel the prose moves a little too slowly for a crime thriller. The writing isn’t excellent, but there are far too many details to keep the pace up. The protagonist, Roger Quaid, is a strong character and perfect for the leading role. However, much like the details, there were far too many characters to keep track of.
“Vengeance For Gabriel" is a gripping read that kept me on the edge of my seat! The plot twists are masterfully crafted, and the characters are deeply relatable. I couldn't put it down, racing to uncover the truth. This thrilling mystery is a must-read for all crime fiction fans!
I liked the international flavor of this novel-- from the villain to the good guys -- with a splash of FBI vs. CIA intrigue. I enjoyed the two main characters and the family connection between them (father/son). Looking forward to the next one! Good read.
The book has a lot of action with several hair-raising moments . I had no idea what was going to happen. If you can suspend hour disbelief, you will find it a hack of a ride.
Compelling characters and a suspenseful ending will leave you wanting more as dark truths are uncovered. A great story that reads true. I really enjoyed this.
