If you like taboo, age gap, ex’s dad who has a dirty mouth then you’ll enjoy this book. Ariana is headed for vacation after finding out her boyfriend was cheating on her. While there she runs into Mr. Bentley and from there the it’s on!

2.75—I liked the premise of this book but it fell flat
To me… idk what is it that makes a book really come to life for a person? For me there was just a missing ingredient here. Arianna recently caught her bf cheating. They break up. She goes on the birthday vacation she had planned for them alone but is surprised by her two bff’s on the plane. There’s a lot of girl banter which I don’t prefer. I think the book would have been better if the two bffs had stayed at home. This took up a lot of page time. Anyway she spots Her exes father- Mr. Bentley-at the airport too. He’s headed to Mexico too. He’s hot and there’s an attraction. They eventually hook up after a lot of girl banter and friend involvement…. Boring. Also some of Mr Bentleys inner monologue’s gave me woman vibes. I did like him but it was off putting. Otherwise he’s a dirty talking sex machine. This book is mainly about sex in Mexico. The rest is surface level with no character development. We are told at the end of the book how the fmc grew. Hmm would have been nice to see it. Also I think this book needed some angst. Can we discuss this cover? I mean hello silver daddy. This book called to me once I read the trope. Taboo as in ex-boyfriend's dad so I knew I needed to read it. Lukas and his mouth made this book delish making me eat this book up. Ariana deserved this attention and needed a night of Lukas. The fact these two fit together like a puzzle made this book so hot. I can't wait to see what this series brings.

Arianna discovers her boyfriend cheating on her and promptly dumps him and goes on a tropical vacation that she had planned. It's here she runs into her ex's dad and the chemistry is undeniable. Lukas tries to deny the attraction but Arianna wants this silver fox and Lukas decides to give into the sexual tension brewing.
This was taboo and smutty but not quite as angsty as I was hoping it would be. I also was a little bummed Lukas wasn't as kinky as he kept implying. I wanted a little more filthy. Arianna was a decent heroine but there wasn't anything super unique about her. Lukas was swoony and I enjoyed reading their love story for the most part.

Honesty moment. I saw Wander on the cover and that was definitely what had me checking out the book. Then I see that it’s an ex boyfriend’s dad, age gap romance. Yeah, absolutely intrigued now. But then, from page one, I was smitten. Not only with the storyline, but this author’s writing style. Positively brilliant.
Then there was the romance. Man was it hot and intense and everything. Yes. It. Was. Everything. But I hated that they both internally fought their chemistry with one another for so long. They both deserved to feel loved and be loved without all the outside forces getting in the way. And with this being a new to me author, I wasn’t sure if they would find their happily ever after or if she would have them go their separate ways. Fox had me on the edge of seat wondering and waiting.
I adored this new to me author and will be looking into her other books. I can’t wait for the next one is this amazing Taboo series. If you love age gap goodness like me, this is the book for you. Steamy and well written, Mr. Bentley owns my heart. 5 Stars.

This book had all the ingredients to be a really good book.. but it fell flat for me. I don't think it was one thing I think it was a culmination of many little things that I didn't vibe with. The FMC and her friends did not act 28 more 17/18 so I didn't really care for her POV.. I did semi like Lukas' POV but I also got tired of hearing how much he gets around.. the first 50% of the book is the same phrases just written differently which made me want to stop reading.. but I pushed through it since it was a short book. I would have either liked this book as more of a novella 150 or less pages or halfed the first 50% of the book and it's repetitiveness and replaced it with a deeper dive into them as a couple because what we got was a very surface level relationship on page but the author semi touched base on their getting to know you's talk and I would have liked to see them as a couple not just in bed. Overall I wouldn't peg a 48 year old with this 28 year old with the immaturity of late teens.. I wouldn't have the patience 🤷♀️

The first book in this Taboo series has really set the stone. It’s sweet, a little complicated and spicy. Complication goes hand in hand with a taboo book but the writing of Mackenzy Fox eases it into a fun-loving and emotion-driven story by the end of the book.
What will you do when a vacation fling becomes more than you expected it to be?? It’s the dual POV with the raw emotions Ariana is facing and I am glad with the steps she takes to have control over her life. Applauds.
Lukas is a gentleman and is a silver fox. His description is mouthwatering and Mackenzy did Justice with both the characters and the story. I was hooked from start to finish. And I’m eager to see Ariana’s friend’s stories too.
It’s a 4.25⭐️ for me.

This is the perfect light hearted, fun and spicy read. I loved the friendship dynamic between Arianna and her girlfriends, they had me laughing out loud so many times! They have this sisterhood friendship everyone wishes they had and their banter had me cracking up.
Forget a vacation to get over your ex, Mr.B will make you FORGET YOU HAD AN EX. Now that I think about it, don’t bring this book on vacation with you if you’re single… because no vacation fling will even hold a light to that man.

Mr. Bentley is that book, the book that has some of my all time favorite tropes and I would be lying if I said I didn't relish every minute of it. The angst in this book is top tier, but it's nothing compared to the passion and chemistry between Lukas and Arianna.
Their relationship started out simple but even exchanging pleasantries and conversing about mundane topics you could tell, almost feel the connection between them and as time progressed their connection grew so did the sense of comfort and security and though they tried denying the signs, the all consuming love and the craving to be close to each other even if they're apart for a minute it were as plain a day that they were falling for each other and when they finally embraced their feelings it was beautiful and effortless.

“Mr. Bentley” was incredibly hot. He was the epitome of a silver fox. He’s Arianna’s ex-boyfriend’s dad. The ex cheated on her, so Arianna and her friends went to Mexico to celebrate her birthday. They run into Mr. Bentley/Lukas, and the attraction races back and forth. However, Lukas holds back when they are “together” because he doesn’t want to scare her off. In addition, there’s the whole ex-boyfriend’s dad thing. When they return home, a misunderstanding leads Arianna to believe Lukas has moved on.
” Mr. Bentley” was a short read, but I enjoyed every moment. Lukas had all the right moves and said everything without trying. The story is perfect for those who love the big age gap with a touch of forbidden spice.

This is my first read from Mackenzy and after seeing her posting about it on instgram that it was age gap, vacation romance with exboyfriends dad - well, I knew I had to read it. (You all know when I see age gap, it instantly gets downloaded)
The story follows Ariana going on vacation after her breakup for her birthday, what she didn't expect to see was her ex's dad at the airport and staying at the same hotel as her. I love Mackenzy’s writing, but I gotta say this is my least favorite so far.
I’m a sucker for an age gap romance the bigger the gap the better for me, but I did not like this very much.

This story follows Ariana, who recently caught her boyfriend cheating. She had already booked a trip to a resort in Mexico, and what was meant to be a romantic getaway turned into a solo trip. However, it quickly became an unforgettable surprise—and a forbidden fling—with her ex-boyfriend’s dad.
I had so much fun with this book! First off, Ariana’s best friends are absolutely brilliant and made the story enjoyable beyond the love interest. Ariana, the FMC, comes across as somewhat mature, beautiful, and confident in her worth. And Mr. Bentley—wow, this man is something else. He had me swooning. The way he treats her, listens to her, and absolutely devours her was perfection. I loved how his character was written: well-spoken, mature, and someone who knows exactly what he wants. The tension and buildup were fantastic, and the story is more character-driven than plot-focused, which I didn’t mind
I also want to mention the taboo label, as it’s part of the series name. Personally, I’d classify this more as forbidden romance. To me, forbidden means something that shouldn’t happen but can—like an ex-boyfriend’s dad (he’s an ex for a reason, after all). Taboo, on the other hand, feels like something completely off-limits that shouldn’t happen at all, like step-sibling or more extreme relationship such as relation romances.
Overall, this was a fun, spicy, and delicious read!

Lukas Bentley is definitely that and Ariana is in for a special treat. Who cares if it’s her ex’s dad. I mean when you look and talk like he does, your worries tend to get tossed aside.
But seriously these do fit perfectly together and their scenes are intense. I needed several jugs of ice water to cool off because of it.
Age gap romances are a hit or miss for me. Some just are ick no matter how you look at it. But this book is not that and I can’t wait to read the next two with the same theme.

I won't lie, what drew me into this book was the cover. Because holy cow it's gorgeous. Then I found out the tropes and it made me want to dive in even more. Fox is a new to me author, so she definitely hit the marks there with gaining new readers.
Now. The book itself. I wanted to love this. As I said, it had all the tight tropes to pull me in and the right amount of taboo. Unfortunately the execution of it fell flat for me. There were a few things that just made it tricky for me to connect with the characters; the biggest part being their ages.
Ari is on a holiday to Mexico to celebrate her 28th birthday after an awful break up (which happened a month or two prior to the book starting). Love it. Loved the independence, the "f you" to the ex and the sudden twist to girls trip that it takes. But Ari and her friends... they don't sound like people in their late twenties; they honestly sounded like college girls and this actually kinda irked me, as at times it made the taboo almost... borderline ick.
And Lukas. Oh man, I love the idea of this sharp dressed, take no $h!t business mogul hiding a buff bod coated in ink under suits, but again. He did not sound like the 48 year old he's supposed to be. His chapters also felt repetitive in the sense of talking about his one night stands, his workaholic-ness, and this "event" that led him to Mexico.
The characters also felt really surface level to me. We could have had a deep discussion about Lukas' issue that had him hiding in Mexico. We could have seen the scenes where Ari and Lukas got to know each other - this was a very tell, don't show book, which I often struggle with.
The spice.. yeah, okay. The spice was good. But again, it feel very repetitive. We're promised taboo, k!nky sex, but again, it fell short on those promises. It became almost a rinse-and-repeat of scenes, and I struggled to feel chemistry between them some of the time. And when that sexual chemistry evolved into romance... yeah, I really struggled there.
I did love the girl-gang-esque nature of Ari and her friends. I always love an FMC who feels supported in her friendship group. I just wish I loved more of this book.

This book is the first in the new Taboo series from Mackenzy Fox.
It has Age-gap, ex’s dad, silver fox, vactation fling, finding yourself, praise kink, spanking kink, tattooed MMC in a suit, And as always a HEA.
Ariana is going to Mexico, on a vacation she bought for her and her ex, before she found him cheating. So she decides to go away alone and relax and find herself. Her two best girlsfriends surprise her on the plane and now it is a birthday-getaway girlstrip with alcohol, tanning by the pool, food and gossip. And what else is on this trip. Oh right.! Ariana’s EXs HOT as F*CK SILVER FOX DADDY. Yes pls..and thank you. Hot business man in a suit and when he takes it off his body is a tattooed work of art🥰
Lukas Bentley doesn’t have the best relationship with his son. And now he is even more sure that he is an idiot for letting a girl like Ariana get away. Lukas want to devour her. Give her anything and everything, treat her like the Queen he think she is.
Lukas wants Ariana, he want to seduce her. Making nice gestures, taking her and her friends out for dinner, upgrading their room, little touches her and there. And we are all falling for it. Not just Ariana🤭
This age-gap trope is still new to me but i am so here and i am staying.!
I love the whole chemistry of this book. The relationship between the 3 girls is so well written and i think every girl should have friends like Ari’s. They are funny, caring, pushing her out of the comfortzone and are there to catch Ariana if she needs that too.
And then there is the chemistry between Lukas and Ari. My oh my. I think these two burned the sheets, curtains, tablecloths or whatever fabric around them. Wow. FIREALARM. And the dirtytalk. Yes yes yes!!!
I am off to Mexico to find my own Mr. Bentley✈️

Hot damn I have no words!!
Going into this I knew it was going to be good. Not only is my Daddy Wander on the cover but everything Mackenzy Fox writes is just perfection! If you’ve been with me for any amount of time you know I absolutely LOVE Mackenzy’s writing shes hands down one of my favorite authors! So I am not surprised at all that she knocked this one out of the park! These tropes are some of my favorites and Mackenzy did them so well! I just loved the whole feel of this book. This is one of those books that I could read over and over and still not get enough of it. I just loved everything about it. The plot, the characters and especially the spice! Mr. Bentley is so filthy and I wouldn’t have it any other way!! This book has made me so excited for the rest of the Taboo series! I can’t wait!!!

Ariana e Lukas - lido em 17/02/2024 - A Ariana é ex-namorada do filho do Lukas (James). Eles se encontraram apenas duas vezes. O Lukas e o James não se dão bem. O James não libera a herança dele, porque acha que ele tem que trabalhar para isso. O livro começa com a Ariana indo para o México, passar duas semanas de férias, no seu aniversário. O James a traiu e ela terminou o namoro. As melhoras amigas dela dizem qeu não podem ir e ela vê o pai do ex no salão de embarque, mas foge dele. As amigas a surpreendem embarcando no avião e no México, o Luckas a vê no aeroporto mas ela não conta que desmanchou. Ele é 20 anos mais velho e um CEO super poderoso. Ele é um mulherengo off page. Ele fala bastante de ter transado com muitas outras mulheres. Eles se sentem atraídos um pelo outro e tentam se afastar. Mas ela o procura e eles ficam juntos. No dia seguinte, ela se sente culpada e vai embora. Ele a procura eles conversam e ele deixa claro que quer ficar com ela, mas apenas enquanto estão no México. Ele volta antes para Seatle. Quando ela volta, ele manda flores mas fica sem entrar em contato com ela por duas semanas. Eles se encontram no café onde ela passa todos os dias e uma mulher passa a mão no braço dele como se eles estivessem juntos. ela fica super chateada e vai embora. Ele manda mensagem dizendo que não é o que ela pensa, que ele sente saudades e ela fala que o que eles tiveram foi apenas um casinho e que eles devem seguir em frente. Ele a procura e diz que nas últimas duas semanas, ele ficou no café olhando-a entrar no trabalho e a mulher apenas apareceu lá - uma ex-namorada. Ele fala que quer namorar com ela. O epílogo, é um ano mais tarde. Eles falando com o James que estão juntos e eles vão para o Hawaii e ele a pede em casamento. Eu pulei várias páginas. Os outros dois livros são das amigas da Ariana - a Imogen e a Mr. Petrov e a Charlize com o Mr. Devereaux.
