Lords and ladies are no match for irresistible kittens in these three Lynn Collum's A Purrfect Christmas for the Marquis, The Rose and Shadow by Jenna Jones, and Judith A. Lansdowne's The Magnifikitten, which mix romance and the holiday spirit with feline mischief. Original.
All three are purrfect Regency romances focused on kittens and Christmas.
My favorite is "A Perfect Christmas for the Marquis": Two orphaned sisters (one of 'marrying age', the other under age 12) live with their aunt, uncle, and very spoiled beautiful cousin, who is also marrying age. It's nearly winter when the sisters' cat has kittens, and their aunt orders the furry babies gone! The sisters take the kittens to the nearby house of the Marquis, hoping the caretakers will want the little cats. The sisters meet the Marquis and his young daughter, while there, and things progress--and the sisters' cousin gets jealous and tries all manner of things to meet the Marquis, hoping to trap him into marriage! Luckily, the two youngest girls and the kittens have other plans....
The other two are also well-written, and are worth reading. In all, great short stories!
The Christmas Kittens is a delightful, happy story. The story has a happy ending without long, drawn-out chapters. I highly recommend this story to brighten up this difficult time.
I enjoyed this novella about two orphan sisters, an oblivious Aunt, a wretched but beautiful cousin, a Marquis and his sweet young daughter. It was a Christmastime when a Marquis and his daughter flee his matchmaking Mother to a quiet estate for some alone time. They meet the two sisters on the neighboring estate who just happen to be the perfect ages for the Marquis and his daughter. Enter the wickedly spoiled cousin who has a clueless mom and the stage is set for the romance, garlands, and a happily ever after. A sweet but short good read.
