I love to write cozy mysteries with fun, quirky characters, talking cats, witches, small-town communities, and puzzling stories with clues that give you a chance to solve the puzzle before the sleuth.
Magic realism, cozy witch mysteries, and new ages witches are how I'd probably shelve my books.
Kate Brody may have things together at work, but at home, she’s anything but organized. Her silverware drawer is a jumble of forks and spoons that don’t match, her desk is littered with enough sticky-notes to start a campfire, and her closet resembles the aftermath of a rockslide. After her mother and family force her hand, she begrudgingly works with a professional organizer to get things in order. It seems to be going well, until the woman keels over in Kate’s bedroom closet. Not good! She’s stiffer than an 80’s hair style that’s been glued into place with five bottles of hairspray. It doesn’t take long for the tragic news to spread like wildfire. All eyes turn to Kate. Now, locked in the local detective’s crosshairs, she scrambles to find answers before he concludes she’s the guilty party. It could be anyone but it's inescapable that it isn't her. This is an interesting book. The mystery is a scary one. I borrowed this book from Kindle Unlimited. This in no way affects my opinion of this book which I read and reviewed voluntarily.
Who knew a gift would become a nightmare. Kate closed the cafe excited for time off while renovations were being made and her family and friends gave her the gift of a home organizer to make her home as organized as her office. Kate wasn't thrilled but decided to just let her do her thing and just change anything back she didn't like when Sharon the organizer was done, a short time later Sharon is dead in her closet and Kate is the main suspect. With the help of family and friends they figure out who was the killer and Kate can finally go back to her life. Great read.
This was an interesting book that I read in 5 days. I enjoyed it. These are light hearted books that are fun to read. Yes there are witches, and talking cats, and tea. A little romance, but mostly just a mystery to solve!
