A civilian contractor for the Department of Defense has created an implantable brain-computer interface that will make the fiercest warriors on the planet exponentially smarter, faster, and deadlier.
Codename: iSEAL
After years of painstaking research, the device is finally ready for human trials.
Desperate to be reinstated as a Special Forces candidate, Nathan Brennan reluctantly volunteers for the study. Four weeks as a lab rat and his military career will be back on course.
Unfortunately, by the end of day one, he finds himself on the run from the police, the CIA, and a mysterious criminal mastermind named Oberwand.
With no memory of his past, and with little hope for a meaningful future, Brennan must utilize every weapon in his binary arsenal just to stay alive.
Fully enjoyed Codename! Fast paced, totally believable sci-tech thriller. Even when the action slowed down, it didn’t get boring. Kept me reading to find out what would happen next to Mike, Nika, and even Slick. It had levels of bad guys, from misguided to trully evil. Mike is such an all around good man. And I really like Nika. She turned out to be such a bad ass when needed. Slick, seemingly to cats, knew exactly who to choose. And last, but not least, finally! A love story without explicit sex scenes. Hope this won’t be the last we hear about them.
This is my first read by this author. It is excellent in my opinion. Starts slow but keeps your attention glued to the book. The story is about a want to be Navy Seal. He is about to flunk out of training and is recruited by a company as a guinea pig. He will get brain module implanted. He now has impossible powers of brain and body. And guess what, everyone wants the technology. Lots of action!
Another fast-paced thriller from Jude Hardin who gave us the Colt series. I am not familiar with the futuristic military drama genre so I felt like the dialog and vocabulary used was too "military hand bookish" for me. It made me skim over those technical parts and want for more "civilian" type words.
However, the story was good and it flowed nicely. I am not a fast reader and a novel of normal length usually takes me a couple of weeks to read. With this book, I was done in under a week.
Would I continue to read the iSeal series if it came to be? My honest answer would be probably no. But for the die-hard military person who loves to read this genre, I highly recommend it.
Great reading, a combination of the perfect male mated with artificial intelligence, but the world's leading manufacturers weren't the only one wanting a new type of warrior, there were those who wanted an army of their own and would go to any length to get it. What goes wrong, is they forgot about the moral standards of one employee and the that subject selected to be that perfect warrior and what love for another can accomplish. Thanks for letting me get to see what happens. Now it's your turn. You won't want to miss out. Get your copy and start turning pages.
Although somewhat futuristic isn't normally my preferred reading genre, "Fused" is one of the best, most riveting novels I've ever read. There no slow down in its action from the start to finish.
While the setting of this book is interesting and leaves a lot open for action and excitement, it felt rushed and poorly put together. The characters don’t develop realistically, and the progress is erratic and unfeasible.
The action in the book began quickly and kept getting more intense by the minute. The plot was well developed and included some surprising twists and turns. I"m looking forward to reading the next book.
Good plot, interesting characters and good action. Pretty consistent characterizations. Would have liked it to be longer, if there is a follow-along, I would be interested in reading it too.
