I don’t really know what inspired me to ask ChatGPT about the quote ‘Friends, Roman’s, Countrymen…’ one afternoon recently, but whatever force it was that drew me to enter the Roman Empire rabbit hole I am grateful for. I was looking for a very light introduction to Ancient Rome and after all of the glowing reviews for this book I decided to give it a go. Wow, such a great way of translating dense history, spanning centuries into a digestible, exciting manner. Of course much credit goes to the source material too!! All in all a fantastic way to learn about the Roman Empire from the rise to fall. I am looking forward to reading more from this publisher.

Good information.

This book provides a good overview of the history of the Roman civilization. It does not go into depth on any aspect of the history but is intended to provide a basic knowledge of Rome to anyone with a limited understanding of the society.
