It was a good emotional end to the series. It felt like all the storylines ended in a way that made sense. The final battle was really good, but I’m partial to hero’s who dual wield and that was how he fought for most the book.
Only dislike was the common anime trope of everyone just getting super juiced up powers just because it’s the final fight. Some of the power ups did not feel earned.
I held off posting a review until I finished all the volumes of the book. I picked this up since I enjoyed the anime quite a bit and wanted to see how the story would progress past where the anime dropped off. Overall it was a great story, the progression was not too boring and the story was engaging enough. But the ending did leave me wanting more, I was a bit disappointed by how the story ended since I expected a big reveal at the end. It could have been just my expectation but all the hype seemed to build to nothing. There is no mention of what exactly the skills of deadly sins are for, or the holy beasts and their existence and several other plot points. It could be that there is more but it did feel like the end and I felt the power system lacked the foundation that would have rounded it all off. To summarise, I enjoyed it quite a bit though some volumes felt a bit long, I didn't mind the slice of life all that much.
