I loved this book! Damien is unlike most of the male characters in recent books I have read. He is amazing and the way he struggles with his feelings and the promise he made was heartbreaking. I love that this book is told from a dual POV and there were some really great supporting characters. I'm so excited that Maggie is getting her own book! Really enjoyed this book and highly recommend it!

From page one I was engulfed in this book I loved it so much, and Damien his thoughts are pure man, "there she was. And holy eff she was wearing a bright red bra under her sopping wet shirt. Had she walked to work in the rain? Had she purposefully done that to drive me crazy?" Early on in the book we could tell Damien has some jealous issues to work out, "it was going to look super hot? Where the hell was she getting this tattoo? Visions of a male tattoo artist eyeing her sweet body filled my mind and a jealous rage boiled through me." Like any red blooded male Damien isn't one to like being interrupted while business is being done, "Damien didn't ever bother to move me from his lap as he nearly yelled, "Be right there." I scrambled off his lap and fumbled with the zipper to his sweater as he ran his hand over his face in obvious frustration. "Sh**. Sh**. Sh**," he muttered, as he gulped down air. "Worst effing timing." Of courses Damien thinks Temperance is taunting him with her body, "she looked so hot today. So effing hot. She was wearing skintight pants, and a shirt that showed off way too much cleavage. Not to mention those come eff me boots. Holy hell. How was I supposed to make it through the entire workday with her?" Did I mention them jealous tendencies Damien has yeah they get worse as the book goes on (it's quite hilarious) "I nearly swerved off the road. "the hell you are. I'm not discussing the pros and cons of what you did if you're just going to go blow some other guy." I wasn't about to give her tips so she could rock some other guy's world. Hell no. I wasn't that nice." But one thing is for certain his girl knows how to get him riled, "sh**, Temperance. You can't say that to me," I said, adjusting my now hard co** in my pants. If I was going to make it through practice I needed her to tone that sh** down. Or else I'd have to excuse myself and run one out outside." I'm hoping to see some other characters get stories like Maggie, Jonathon, Jed, and Nik.

At the time I read this book, I was in a book funk. I couldn't find any book that held my attention for more than a few chapters, so when I saw this book a book page recommended, I decided to give it a chance. I have to admit, it was a pretty decent book. It kept my attention, I enjoyed reading from both the hero and heroines point of view, and I liked the overall concept of the storyline. I highly enjoyed this book and I recommend it to all those who enjoy a great romance novel!!

Temperance Cole has had a crush on her neighbor, and fellow co-worker, Damien Swift, since the moment she saw him. But there's only one thing keeping her from him. Damien himself. Damien seems to want nothing to do with her, and often ignores or snaps at her for no reason. He started treating her worse once she gained her independence from her controlling parents and started living her own life, being who she always wanted to be.

Damien Swift can't help his attraction to his annoyingly beautiful neighbor. It was easier to ignore her presence when she lived under her parents thumb and was shy, but now she's more outspoken. More independent. And more beautiful than she was before, if that is even possible. Despite his promise he made to someone he loved in the past, he can't stay away from her. But it's too soon. It's only been a year. Too soon to jump into a new relationship, but he can't seem to keep his distance from Temperance, especially after they share a steamy kiss. After that kiss, he wants more. One kiss was never enough, but with guilt weighing him down, will he be able to be the man Temperance needs? Or will he end up breaking her heart, with his as well?

Like a mentioned above, this book was wonderful! I really enjoyed reading from Damien's point of view, even though he frustrated me with his guilt at times. He acted like a idiot most of the time with Temperance, but you still love him as he sorts through his feelings. I really liked his character, and Temperance's as well. She was brave, outspoken, and I could relate to her. Overall, it was a great novel and I recommend it to all book lovers.

My favorite quotes:

"Sometimes we don't get what we want. Sometimes it stays just out of reach. Just know you're worth it, Tempie."

"I could feel Temperance's eyes on me, but I made no effort to be more polite. Her little crush could bite me."

I did not expect to like this book as much as I did. I'm new to these contemporary romances, but I found it sexy, real, and funny. My favorite part was how down to earth it was - just two people working in a coffee shop with sexual tension which boils over into more.
