Blizzard at Blue Ridge Inn by Pat Nichols is a charming story. I was quickly drawn in and I was curious to see how the three ladies would handle their predicament. I like the author’s engaging writing style. The characters are developed and relatable. The three women are different based on first appearances (age, clothing styles, abodes), but we soon learn they have quite a bit in common. I enjoyed watching the relationships develop between Amanda, Erica, Wendy, Abby, and Morgan (and Dusty too). The women along with the teen girls will need to be strong if they are going to handle what lies ahead. The twists kept coming for these ladies. They have their work cut out for them. I like the town of Blue Ridge, Georgia. I look forward to meeting more of the friendly town residents in the next book. Blizzard at Blue Ridge Inn is about trust, friendship, strength, courage, and family. I hope the next book in the series will be out soon.

Blizzard at the Blue Ridge Inn left me with a profound physical discomfort. I have never experienced the depth of physical illness simply from reading a book. The book's central theme, where women form a bond over their relationships with the same man, had me feeling queasy throughout. The more I delved into their shared experiences, the more I found myself physically ill. It's a testament to the author's skill that such a storyline could evoke such a strong reaction. If you're someone who is sensitive to narratives that might induce a sickening knot in your stomach or a feeling of unease in your bones, be wary when picking up this book.

Blizzard is another winner for author Pat Nichols. There are several women’s fiction books on the market, but this is the first one I’ve read with twists and turns you can’t see coming. It starts off with three very different women who have planned a trip to an inn in the mountains with their husbands who will meet them there. They soon learn their respective husbands will be unable to join them for various reasons. And from there these ladies form a bond and enjoy their time there together, at least until…
You’re going to love this book! Excellent character development, which is a special talent of the author.
I received an advanced copy of the book Blizzard, but opinions expressed here are mine alone.

With Blizzard at Blue Ridge Inn, Nichols brings us a new series.  While I’ve enjoyed all her previous work, this one has me anticipating subsequent books  perhaps more than previous series.  However, for the first quarter of the book I wasn’t sure that would happen.  Conspicuous consumption and immediate gratification were apparent at the start.  After all, one character has a coat with a fur collar!  Wendy was consumed with money and what it would buy. Erika (in spite of the fur) and Amanda, however, seemed to have realized money lacked the satisfaction they once thought it would bring.

All three women traveled to the Smoky Mountains with hopes of a magical vacation with their husbands.  A delay in the arrival of their mates allowed the women to begin forging a friendship that was mostly convenient at the time, but, through a challenge they all soon faced, a deep  connection was forged by the end of the book.

Blizzard is perhaps the best example of Women’s Fiction that Nichols has produced, the type of women’s fiction I most appreciate as it is the relationship between the characters that matters, not some possible romantic issue that sometimes makes us act less capable and intelligent.

Nichols has themes that run through all her works and some are a little muted with this offering but present none the less.  The community Nichols depends on in previous works is not readily apparent, we see instead the community of these three strong women and the daughters of Amanda and Erika.  While there is no character ostracized for past mistakes, all the women have a past that had to be overcome.  I suspect we’re going to see more of these themes developed in the next book in the series and I am more than ready to see if I’m right

A great read that has me excited for the series!

Review by a Christian reader:

Synopsis:

Three women. One inn. And a storm that reveals more than anyone bargained for.
Amanda Sullivan is clinging to the final threads of her second marriage. A romantic anniversary getaway to the Blue Ridge Inn is supposed to be a fresh start. But when her husband’s arrival is delayed, Amanda is left with too much time to wonder if she’s been fooling herself all along.
Erica Parker can’t shake the feeling that her husband is hiding something—and not just the usual secrets. With suspicion growing and her trust unraveling, she arrives at the inn determined to uncover the truth, even if it means facing a betrayal she’s not ready for.
Wendy Peterson is pregnant, pampered, and perfectly content—or so she thought. Until one unexpected moment in a small-town boutique unravels the illusion she’s been living in.

When a rare snowstorm strands the women at the historic Blue Ridge Inn without their husbands, the isolation strips away their polished facades. Over two emotionally charged days, strangers become confidantes as each woman confronts the truth about her marriage—and herself.
But just as the snow begins to melt, a stranger arrives with a chilling message. They were brought here for a reason, and it’s only the beginning.
Book One in a gripping women's fiction series where secrets unravel, destinies collide, and nothing is as it seems.

Warnings:
Language: None
Spice: None
Triggers: Mild - book discusses the following topics in some plot points: suicide (very limited), child neglect related to foster care system, divorce, drinking, fraud

Review:
This novel was written in a 3 person POV, which I really enjoy because that POV gave a lot of insight into each character and their own struggles and journey. All of the characters were relatable and I want to know more of their stories, so I am super excited that this is the start of a series (with at least 9 books published at the time of this review). As for our 3 main characters, Amanda, Erica, and Wendy, they were well developed characters that are relatable. Without giving spoilers, I can say that the twists had me gasping out loud. I couldn’t put the book down, rooting for these 3 women through the ups and downs. Overall, the book did have a happy ending. There is a bit of a cliff hanger since it is part of a series.
I would give this book a solid 4.0-4.5 stars because the writing was well done and creative, deep characters that kept me engaged, and overall clean (which is important to me). Already looking forward to book 2.

Christian side notes: I am not sure if this is classified as a Christian fiction but 1 main character is Christian and exhibit that throughout the story, including things like talk to her pastor, pray over meals and situations, and ‘step out in faith’. No characters or discussions of LGBTQIA+ topics.

Blizzard at Blue Ridge Inn wasn’t described as a Christmas book, though it is set in the weeks before Christmas.

In this story, three women end up at the Blue Ridge Inn at the same time. Amanda Sullivan has been married to her second husband for nine years. She knows she doesn’t love him as much as her first husband, her soul mate, who was killed in a car crash. She’s hoping this romantic get-away will revitalize their relationship.

Erica Parker fears her husband is hiding something, possibly an affair. She’s on a mission to find the truth.

Wendy Peterson is in her twenties and loves having a rich husband and the ability to buy whatever she wants. She’s pregnant with her first child and is a little immature and naive. She can’t wait for her husband to join her at the inn.

However, all three husbands are delayed by work. And then an unusual blizzard traps all three women at the inn for a couple of days. They have nothing else to do but get to know one another better.

When the snow begins to clear, they’re informed that a stranger wants to meet with them together. They learn that they are not at the inn by accident. And it’s no coincidence that none of their husbands have arrived.

What the stranger shares will turn their worlds upside down. Each woman has to decide how she will navigate the changes to her life.

I didn’t know when I started this book that it was the first in a series of six about the women. I was frustrated to find that Wendy doesn’t have her baby until the third book, and apparently the antagonist still hasn’t been dealt with by the sixth. I don’t feel inclined to read the rest of the series–at least, not any time soon. The story was compelling, but the writing didn’t really grab me. It wasn’t terrible, but it just didn’t resonate with me. I have too many other books stacked up that I really want to read to spend time with some that I am not into.

I also wasn’t sure if this was meant to be Christian fiction or not. About 80% of the way through the book, one of the women meets with her pastor, who gives her some good advice.

According to the reviews, though, lots of people love the series. So you might get more out of it than I did.

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK
This women’s fiction starts off with three couples going to the Blue Ridge Inn. All are strangers and at the Inn for different reasons, but they all are stranded buy their husband’s. When a snow storm hits the area, the three women are stranded alone at the Inn.

I have read several books by Pat Nichols and was excited to read this one. I’m glad it is a first in the Blue Ridge series. It will be fun to read the next three books in the series. Blizzard at Blue Ridge Inn is a fabulous setting for this book. I love the blankets of snow over this town and the way the three women form a friendship that stick together. There were several twists and turns, but the one that destroys the three ladies and their marriage has to be the worst. I like how these three pull together, helping each other out as they try to navigate their life after their devastating news that ripped their marriages apart and tried to destroy their lives. The gall of that horrible man. I was happy for Amanda, Erica, and Wendy as they helped one another get over the deceit and get on with their lives. The support from each other was heartwarming.

This is a sweet story that anyone who loves Women’s Fiction will enjoy. You will also enjoy if you love good clean inspirational reads. Being the first in a series gives you the opportunity to stay up to date on the entire series. I’m giving this book Five Stars!

A special thanks to the author/publisher for a copy of this book. I am not required to write a positive review, the opinions here are mine alone. I am disclosing this with my review in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 255

I was lucky enough to receive an advance copy of “Blizzard at Blue Ridge Inn” and just finished reading it. “Blizzard at Blue Ridge Inn” is definitely a must read book.

Pat does a wonderful job of weaving together three diverse women characters through an intriguing plot. It begins simply enough with the early chapters devoted to getting to know the three women, gradually revealing enough of their lives that you might begin to label their stereotypes and imagine how their stories will evolve. But not so fast!

No sooner have you begun to predict in your mind, Pat brings the three women together and allows them to interact at some deeply personal levels revealing unexpected similarities among the women. And, as a reader, you might begin to wonder if you have perhaps made some snap judgements on each of them.

Just as the reader is processing this possibility, Pat throws an exciting bizare twist into the tale. As the plot continues to unfold, the women discover hidden strengths and begin to bond as a family. Pat creates many heartfelt insightful discussions among the women. So, not only is “Blizzard at Blue Ridge Inn” a mesmerizing exciting read, but a source of insights the reader might be able to apply in their own life when conflict happens.

You simply don’t want this book to end. There are so many more possibilities for what these women will do. It is great to know that a sequel will be available soon.

Blizzard at Blue Ridge Inn by Pat Nichols is Women’s Fiction. Three women come to stay at an inn, expecting their husbands to join them. Little did they know, but a rude awakening waited for them. The three women found themselves stranded at the inn without knowing how their lives would collide.

Amanda Sullivan desperately wants to save her failing second marriage. Erica Parker suspects her husband of being unfaithful. Wendy Peterson early awaits the birth of their first child. A once-in-a-century storm strands the three women at the historic inn without their husbands. But a lawyer leaves them struggling to move forward after it is revealed that they were all married to the same man.

With inspiration, faith, hope, joy, and finding a sisterhood amid trials, these three women work together to make a future for themselves and their children. I loved how the author wove the stories of these three women into a beautiful tapestry that I loved reading.

As the book ended, I found myself wanting more. Hopefully, the author plans more books in this series. I know I would read them. So, if you are looking for women’s fiction, check out Blizzard at Blue Ridge Inn by Pat Nichols. I recommend it.

I received a complimentary copy of this book, but this in no way influenced my review. All opinions are my own.

Pick up a copy of Blizzard at Blue Ridge Inn and be instantly immersed in this story of three women who discover a common bond while waiting for their husbands to join them at Blue Ridge Inn.

The setting immediately intrigued me as I made a long-ago day trip to the town of Blue Ridge, Georgia when visiting not far from there. The three women, each of whom call a different southern city home, come to life for the reader so vividly that I felt like I knew them. There is a surprising plot twist that connects these ladies in a way that they realize that they must support each other.

The author captivated my attention with this story. Blizzard at Blue Ridge Inn is the first book in a new series and I felt I was provided with plenty of background knowledge about the lives of these ladies and why each was visiting the town of Blue Ridge. I have to admit that the town description has made me ready for a return visit.

I received an advance copy of this book from the author with no promise of a positive review made or requested. Blizzard at Blue Ridge Inn meets the high expectations I have after reading her other books, so it is easy to highly recommend this story to other readers.

I didn’t expect this story to have so many twists in it. Three couples all heading to an Inn to celebrate for different reasons. They don’t know each other but will soon find out they have someone in common with each other. Each wife finds out that for some reason their husband has been delayed in meeting them there. I loved the setting and how the three women became friends. They begin to find ways to entertain theirselves when a blizzard keeps them trapped at the inn.

When it is discovered that all three wives have been deceived by the same man, I was very shocked. I didn’t see this plot twist coming at all. What impressed me was how they came together to support each other. Their finances are gone along with cars and homes but they don’t give up. How could one man be so deceitful? His disregard for others is evident as he flees the country.

As the women try to put their lives back together they form a bond that illustrates that there is good in people. I loved how they helped each other out and found a way to overcome what could have devastated them forever. Nice story about not giving up, trusting God and forming lasting friendships.

I received a copy of this book from Celebrate Lit. The review is my own opinion.

I really enjoy Women's Fiction books and I enjoy books by Pat Nichols. Blizzard at Blue Ridge Inn by Pat Nichols is Book 1 in the Blue Ridge Series.

I was blown away by the storyline of this book! I have always wanted to be "stranded in a snowstorm" with strangers, so having this book have that storyline was what drew me to this book. The main characters in the book are Amanda Sullivan, Erica Parker and Wendy Patterson. The woman are meeting their husbands at Blue Ridge Inn and then a snowstorm hits the area and the woman are stranded together without their husbands. I LOVE how the book focuses on the age, personality and lifestyle differences between the women. The snowstorm has the women "bonding" and learning about one another. The women were anticipating the arrival of their husbands, they were shocked to get a visit from someone else and the news were shatter all 3 women. The book is filled with Twists and Turns, a couple that were definitely a shock to readers. The storyline flowed wonderfully and I am excited to read more books in this series. The book is one of friendships, LOVE, knowing God's plan is greater then our own plan, and strength and perseverance. I HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone who enjoys CLEAN Women's Fiction. GREAT BOOK!

This is an encouraging novel showing the strength of women. What a devastating situation each of the three women finds herself in. They are forced together under very unusual circumstances. The novel illustrates, no matter how difficult situation, “women who pull together can overcome anything to create positive futures.” (2873/3422)

Nichols' writing style is clear and easy to follow. She creates a very good picture of women devastated. I cannot imagine being in a situation where so much you thought good turned out to be terrible. Rather than giving up, however, they slog through each obstacle, creating a new future.

Within the story are explorations of the flawed foster system, of surviving an abusive marriage, and the true definition of family. There is also a subtle faith message but the power of surviving is attributed to the inner strength of the women, not their faith in God.

I enjoyed this novel of women surviving and thriving. And the best part is that there will be more in this series. I'll be watching for the sequel.

I received a complimentary egalley of this book through Celebrate Lit. My comments are an independent and honest review.

There’s some things I would love to tell you about this story, but I’m going to be very careful about spoilers that take would away their impact as you read through this book with a very unusual storyline.

Author Pat Nichols draws us into this book by introducing each of the main characters to us before they meet at the Blue Ridge Inn. She skillfully sets the scene for the major bombshell twist that occurs a few chapters into the story and that changes the trajectory of the story from that point on. This book is not about romance, but shows the impact that true friendship can have on lives. I will be looking forward to reading the next book in this series and see what happens next for these three friends. Their path takes a turn that none of them could have imagined.

This book has only a couple of mentions of faith. It reads more like clean general fiction than contemporary Christian fiction. There’s nothing wrong with this, but I’m hoping the author will consider incorporating a stronger thread of faith in the next books, as I think these storylines would easily support that.

I voluntarily received this book from Celebrate Lit. All opinions are my own.

The strength of women in adversity
Three women book into quaint Blueridge Inn for a romantic getaway with their respective husbands. Amanda and Erica, both having been married before, hope to revive the romance that seems to be declining with their husbands, while Wendy, as a younger high-spirited woman, is excited about spending time with her relatively new husband.
A shocking revelation unites them into an unexpected and unusual friendship and, as the shocks continue to affect them after they return to their own homes, they decide on a courageous course of action.
Ms Nichols keeps her readers fully immersed in her story as she describes how each of the friends deals with the adversities she is faced with. Amanda’s young adult daughter, Morgan, emerges frequently as the most decisive member of the group.
The story ends with a gratifying outcome for the friends and, although it is written in a manner that invites readers to continue with further books in the series, the author has skilfully avoided the typical and annoying ‘cliffhanger’. I am sharing my honest opinion of a review copy I was given by the author.

Fortunately, I read my advance reader copy of Blizzard at Blue Ridge Inn over Christmas. This meant I had the luxury of long, interrupted periods to read. And boy was I happy about that because I wanted to keep turning the pages to find out what was going to happen. Pat Nichols has written an intriguing story of three women, Amanda, Erica, and Wendy, who meet at an inn in North Georgia just before a blizzard hits. As the snow comes, so does daunting trouble in their lives. Can they turn tragedy into triumph? The curveball life throws at them is a real plot twist, but it allows friendship to blossom, hope to bloom, and determination to grow. I was under no obligation to give this book a favorable review, but my honest opinion is that it is a realistic and uplifting view of life. Just like these characters, we will all have troubles in our lives. How will we respond? This tale urges us not to give up.

Pat Nichols continues to bring heartwarming and page-turning contemporary women’s fiction to us. Blizzard at Blue Ridge Inn, first in her Blue Ridge series, highlights Mrs. Nichols’ emotionally charged novels and her knowledge of life in the South. The Blue Ridge Inn is an actual place, and long before you reach the end, you may find yourself packing your bags for your own retreat in the beautiful mountains of northern Georgia. Filled with lovable characters and unforgettable storylines, Mrs. Nichols’ books deliver unexpected plot twists every single time.

When three women of varying ages arrive at the Blue Ridge Inn just as the weather turns, they cannot imagine the life-altering situations that will affect each of them, individually, and collectively. I look forward to the next books in this series. Highly recommended.

In full disclosure, I received an advance reader copy of this book with no expectations. These opinions and words are my own.

Blizzard at Blue Ridge Inn is a wonderful novel with great value. It was such a good read and I would definitely read it again.

There are three main characters. They’re women at an inn. But then a blizzard comes and they’re stranded together. They’re all different and unique in their own ways. They’re in different seasons of life. What could they possibly have in common? Each also has something they’re worried about and an issue they’re working on.

I loved getting to know the women and seeing how they were able to figure out their problems and work towards solutions. Plus the setting was gorgeous and I loved it.

I have voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from Celebrate Lit. All views expressed are only my honest opinion. I was not required to write a positive review nor was I compensated in any other way. All opinions expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the FTC regulations.

I could feel the tension mounting from the very beginning. I knew what was going to happen and then it did. But, now, how was it going to be resolved?

This book captured me from the very beginning. Three women are meeting their husbands at the Blue Ridge Inn in Georgia. Each one is excited for the possibilities. Unfortunately, a blizzard plays havoc on all the week-end plans and the ladies spend time getting to know each other. They soon discover that although they are very different, they also have a lot in common.

I was completely enthralled with this book. Pat Nichols has done an excellent job of developing the characters and the storyline. The great thing is, there is more to come. I’m so excited for the next book, and ready to follow Erica, Amanda and Wendy on their next adventure.

I received this ARC from the author and am giving my honest review.

Blizzard at Blue Ridge Inn is the first book from the Blue Ridge series. It is, also, a great introduction to author, Pat Nichols. It was a pleasure travelling to the mountains of North Georgia. The unlikely trio of Wendy, Erica, and Amanda were thrown together and had to learn to overcome their differences. It was heartwarming to meet these three women and seeing how the blizzard changes their lives. I thought it was a great read.

I am giving Blizzard at Blue Ridge Inn five stars. I believe lovers of clean Women's fiction will not want to miss out on reading it. I am looking forward to the next installment from the Blue Ridge series, The Inheritance.

I received a copy of Pat Nichols' Blizzard at Blue Ridge Inn from the publisher, but was not required to write a positive review. This review is one hundred percent my own honest opinion.

Adversity into Opportunity
Three women, strangers, are excited to meet their husbands at a bed and breakfast. Similar stories, husband travels, so excitement is in the air. They meet, compare stories, worries abound. Two become suspicious, but the young mother-to-be is not going along with their thinking. What happens when the truth is learned? Is survival possible with such crushing news? Learn how Three women and two young daughters prove what strength can be found in the worst of circumstances. A small-town story, a show of strength and courage, and the chance to see that justice prevails. Highly recommend Blizzard at Blue Ridge.

I received an ARC of this book.

Blizzard at Blue Ridge Inn is a quick, cozy read that reveals how three women find themselves snowed in at a B&B and the mystery that ties them all together. While each woman believes she has her life "figured out," what, or more importantly who, they discover brought them to the inn soon unravels their identities. What they understood about themselves and each other melts like snow in the sun. They each must decide how to move forward and reinvent their lives in order to survive the "blizzard" that brought an avalanche of heartache before healing.

It will be interesting to see how these characters grow and change.

I loved the cover of this book! Who wouldn't want to stay at the Blue Ridge Inn in the middle of a snowstorm? That's what happens to Wendy, Amanda, and Erica, three women who have no connections -- or do they? Each arrives for a few days away and is waiting on her husband. But soon they learn a shocking secret. This shocker drops at about the 25% mark, and after that the story tells of the women's efforts to bond together. There are a few passing mentions of Christianity and characters praying. If you enjoy chick lit with lot of descriptions of food and social drinking that feature strong women with a "you go, girl!" attitude, I think you'll enjoy "Blizzard at the Blue Ridge Inn."

This is a story about betrayal. It is also a story about strangers becoming family. I want to read the entire series. While reading this book I wonder if I was faced with the same obstacle if
I would have or could survive. This is a clean read and has a good paragraph about forgiveness and justices. I recommend this book to readers who likes clean reads without alike of religion mixed in. There is one talk session with a pastor and prayers before meals but not a lot of preaching. So this story is a good read for readers who likes both Christian or clean reads.

I received a complimentary copy from the author and Celebrate Lit and these opinions are my own.

I think that this book has to be my absolute favorite by this author. It is a story about learning to trust each other when your life changes suddenly and adjusting to new beginnings with people you just met. The women in this book share some realistic aspects of their lives and I love how this story intertwines from the friendships made between them. I can't wait to read the next book in this delightful series and read what happens next!

I am so loving this first book in this new series. Blue Ridge, GA is an awesome small town. What an interesting story line this is about these three women. In a gripping departure from her usual warm family-oriented series, Nichols exposes a scenario pulled from every woman’s worst nightmare. Page-turning and gasp-worthy, Blizzard at Blue Ridge Inn takes the reader on an oh-my-goodness-this-could-happen-to-me journey of harrowing heartbreak. No worries, though; Nichols never fails to bring light to the reader. This story beams with a delightful redefinition of family. I’m hoping this is the first of a series.

Women prevail

Blizzard at Blue Ridge Inn is a good read. Now I need to read the second book, so I'm not left hanging. 3 women find out they married the same man. They don't take the news sitting down. They band together and make the most of what has happened and become one family! I think this is the first book that I have read from Pat Nichols, and I'm glad I picked it up.

Friends to Family

A big and unpleasant surprise hits during what should have been a week in a winter paradise for three women. What follows is a tale of heartache and deception. The three find their way as you would expect, but finding their way is worth the read. Wendy's leap of personal growth is a bit unrealistic to me, but its part of the plot. I will certainly look forward to the sequel.
