Rate this book
Internationally respected astrologer, Sasha Fenton explains far beyond the basics of the zodiac signs and explores the true nature of our ties to astrology. There is a lot more to the story than just Sun signs and Fenton tells it here, gleaned from more than four decades of experience. You’ll see the other side of the signs that suffered from "bad press" as well as those that are supposedly "soft"; learn some of the various ways the zodiac can be charted; discover what those born under different signs really think of each other; and get numerous fun factoids, tips, and trivia. Of course, charts appear throughout and each sign receives a rich and full analysis, with myths debunked, information on body and health, and lists of favorite colors, gems, metals, and romantic attraction. With the unexplained explained, and the inside story revealed, you’ll finally understand the signs and how they affect every facet of your loved ones' being and your own.

I’m an author, speaker and publisher. My husband, Jan Budkowski, and I run two publishing companies:
Stellium Ltd (www.stelliumpub.com) for fiction, digital and self-publishing services, and
Zambezi Publishing Ltd (www.zampub.com) for Mind, Body & Spirit titles.

I became a professional astrologer, palmist and Tarot card reader in 1974, but I tailed off my consultancy business when my writing took off. I’ve written 136 books, mainly on mind, body & spirit subjects, with total sales of around 7 million copies, and translations of some titles into twelve languages. Like an addict, I still write, most recently a trio of time travel, action romance novels – the Tudorland series (Sophie’s Inheritance, Lucy’s Dilemma and Emily’s Mistake), a gentle spell book (Spells in Focus) for our publishing company, and In Focus: Astrology for Quarto.com

I’ve taught, broadcast and lectured all over the world, and written for many magazines and newspapers. One of my favourite features was a detailed Chinese Astrology column in Prediction magazine, starting with the January 2012 issue, until the magazine sadly closed a year later. I’ve been interested in Chinese Astrology for some time, and I concentrate on making it more accessible to our western minds.

As a past President of the British Astrological and Psychic Society (BAPS), past Chair for the Advisory Panel on Astrological Education and past member of the Executive Council of the Writers’ Guild of Great Britain, I like to think I have contributed to the writing and mind, body & spirit communities in the UK.

More recently, Jan and I created MBS Professionals Ltd, a unique, international accreditation/certification home for Mind, Body & Spirit professionals. (www.mbsprofessionals.com)

Although I still love to write, Jan and I now spend more time in running our MB&S publishing business (Zambezi Publishing Ltd), and in our brief spare time, a spot of fly fishing in the beautiful South West of England is a great way to relax...

Unexplained Zodiac : The Inside Story to your sign by Sasha Fenton
November 2015
2,5/5
This book won’t make you a believer in astrology. Sasha Fenton uses many examples to prove many points but truly, any of them could apply to anyone regardless of their signs. Judging someone based on their sign still seems to me like branding someone, like a form of discrimination. You can say every black man is a violent an aggressive creature, but we all know that is not true, so why should all Aquarius’s have conflicted personalities? Anyways, if that’s your jam well I guess, good for you? Just by looking at what Leo’s are supposed to be like and my own personality, less than half the things apply to my situation or the Leo’s around me. I know the author has written many books, but I found it awfully badly written. It was arrogant in a non-charming way. I will say I rated this book 2,5 only for the fun factor. The day my boyfriend brought it back from Florida for me (he knows I’m into weird spiritual things sometimes) everybody was asking to get their signs checked and how their sign was compatible with their best friend or their worst enemy, and it was awesome to see how it compared to real life. It is a great conversation piece since it captures people’s imaginary because of how mysterious this science all is.

I’ve read this book so much and one thing I’ve noticed is it’s anti-Pisces and like uhm makes me hate myself for being a Pisces (double Pisces here). I wouldn’t recommend this book

I wish I'd checked this book out from the library instead of actually buying it... At a first glance it looked interesting and intuitive, and I guess it was... But...

I don't know. A lot of the stuff in this book seemed like it was based off of stereotypes of the signs, and that really bugged me because (1) I'm tired of all the Aries stuff being like "you're kinda an angry asshole and you don't make calculated decisions" and (2) i was under the impression that the book was supposed to be based off of unexplained or not necessarily well known aspects of the signs... So like... The opposite of the stereotypes. I thought it was going to be different.

It did offer some interesting insights on the "what the signs think of each other" things, and I liked in the beginning when she talked about the elements and the houses and what the different terms mean and stuff like that. That was super interesting. And I honestly liked reading the book until it got to the part where it said "what Aries likes in a girlfriend/boyfriend" bondage? Big fake boobs? Seriously? Super stereotypical and I was honestly a little offended.

I guess I was just expecting more, since the author was supposed to be one of the better/more famous astrologers in the world and has apparently written tons of books. Maybe her other books are better, but this one just wasn't for me.

So, definitely don’t take this book seriously at all. All it does is sh*t on every single sign. 😆

Very weird wording, contradictory at times and just filled with the author’s own personal feelings about each of the signs rather than focusing on the astrological history.

Example: (in reference to Cancers) “Astrology tells us that this sign is particularly interested in history and that they enjoy coin and antique collecting but I can’t see it.” lol.

Many of the “stories” the author uses, specifically when discussing a sign’s negative traits, don’t have anything to do with their sign and more so highlight that individual’s mental illness or other personal problems.

Honestly, it seems very rage-baity but don’t take it to heart. Astrology is interesting but, at the end of the day I don’t think your sun, moon or rising sign has anything to do with whether you’re an a**hole or not. 🤷🏾‍♀️

Inconsistent, misandric, empty, lacking logic, sloppy writing, and altogether extremely frustrating. The popularity of the zodiac has me reading up on it sometimes. I want to understand why people believe it so passionately. If not that, then to have a framework of what they believe to be true. This may be one of the most irritating things I have read. Much of that has nothing to do with astrology at all, but the authors own fixed mindset, apparent prejudices, and arrogant written voice. It's clear that we would not get along. MAYBE... it's in the stars.

Sasha does it again!

Sasha is by far one of the best astrologist since a Jeanne Dixon here words are plain and her points are always valid. If I could only have one astrologist in my library it would be her.

I didn't dislike this for its overstatement and vagueness. That's par for the course with astrology. I disliked it because of its deep misanthropy.

This book offered a unique perspective into sun signs with a twist. I laughed outloud at some descriptions and didn't care for other portrayals.

Was a super fun look into all the zodiacs. Her writing is very entertaining so even when you aren't reading about your own sun sign, you don't get bored. Only really talks about sun signs.
