Justice done by 'we the people' where the courts can't or wont. Not many surprises but a great read nevertheless, with a thoroughly satisfying ending.

This is the first Brenda Hill work I have read. It came in the mail, as a Father's Day present, from my Father. I wouldn't know how he would come to do that, until I open it and find it is inscribed from the author, and the first person thanked is my Father. So congrats to Dad as a source to this Author.
This was a fast read, I relaxed, enjoyed the easy story. I like the detective characters more from a long term perspective than just in this story. I think I could like them as they grew in a series, but in a stand alone story, maybe we have too much character development and not enough plot twist to our conspiracy laced murder mystery.
I've read a few hundred murder mystery's, and the conspiracy/group killing field is full of good works. So I am going to only go 3 stars on this, as I wasn't surprised by anything. That being said there were at least 4 ways this book was going to come out, so it wasn't entirely transparent and if you don't over think it you'll enjoy.

What are they putting in Geritol these days? A super-secret organization dispatches senior citizen assassins to terminate ne'er do wells who've literally gotten away with murder. They have gone undetected for years until a traumatized food critic puts it together. Unfortunately, the conspiracy strikes close to home and puts the critic and her beloved Grandmother in danger.
This is a silly but readable book. Entertaining but unbelievable it is a fast read. I did not care of Madison the critic who lost her parents to murder at a young age. The dubious parentage plot was unnecessary and the bickering police detectives wore thin. I thought the sub-plot about Madison's potential love interest was creepier than a band of senior killers. A man who wants to marry a seriously troubled woman after two dates is a problem. That is not romantic; that is worrisome. Still a fun read with an entertaining plot.

Original plot
For me it was an original plot but one I worked out in principle at the halfway stage. Still it's an enjoyable read and at least they didn't finish up saving the world from total destruction by a megalomaniac so there was some reality to it.

The book was well written and enjoyable to read. It must be extremely frustrating to be a policeman and see a murderer or abuser get back into society after serving a few years of prison time, if that. In this book, the Ruby Red Society took care that these felons no longer lived in their society. I think they did a good service.
Madison Young survived the brutal murder of her parents but heard nightmare of her mother screaming. When she was asked by the editor of the paper she wrote for to handle the scene of a shooting, she tried but the screams were heard in her head. Her detective friend Dexter Quinn saw her and pulled her away. He had been the one who found her hiding in the closet when her parents were murdered and knew she shouldn't be here. As he investigated the scene, one witness said that an elderly woman was near the victim but did not know where she went. Then Madison found evidence in a canyon near her grandmother's home that caused her to wonder if her grandmother was a killer. This caused her to investigate killings linked to elderly people and caused her to go to Dexter with her findings. The links went back some 30 years all across the country.

This is the second Brenda Hill novel I’ve read. I enjoyed this one even more – it’s not quite as intense as Ten Times Guilty and the reading is effortless, the writing more assured.
Hill’s strength is her character development. The author explains it best when she says she writes about women in crisis, celebrating the inner strength women sometimes forget they possess. And it’s this growth that we see with Maddy Young, haunted by the murder of her parents when she was only six years old and the promise the killer made to return for her. I cared as much for Maddy as her grandmother and Detective Dexter Quinn did.
If you’re looking for a fast, easy read that packs a punch, then I highly recommend With Full Malice.

I loved this book. Riveting and suspenseful.
Madison is a restaurant reviewer who stumbles upon a murder in a parking lot of a place she is doing a a review on. From there on it's a whirlwind of emotions and action with twists and turns every chapter. As she struggles through her own emotional past, she is also growing and learning to deal with those emotions.
The characters in this story were well rounded, the best part of this book was the limmited amount of description used to get the feel across. For some writers, this could have been a 500+ page book, but Ms. Hill keeps the descriptions to the point without over doing it.
I recommend this book.

Page turner....
The book kept me guessing and wanting to turn the page!!! I'm from Yucaipa so it was a lot of fun reading about my town and knowing every place the author was talking about!! I gave it 4 stars because, while the story was good, the writing was a bit choppy... Almost as if the author wrote down exactly what they thought... Maybe I'm just used to purple prose and an extra flourish to what I've been reading but at times it just felt disconnected... Also, it was a little hard following who was talking about whom because it kept jumping from the different nicknames people had.... Just my two cents.... I did like the story though!!!!

MADDIE HAD A VERY TRAMATIC EXPERIENCE AT THE AGE OF 6 THOUGH AN ADULT NOW IT STILL HAUNTS HER. THIS REALLY SHOWED JUST HOW FLAWED OUR JUDICIAL SYSTEM IS, IT’S BROKEN AND I DON’T THINK THAT IT’S FIXABLE. OUR PRESENT DAY SYSTEM IS FRIGHTENING AND IT HAS BEEN PROVEN TO WORK BETTER FOR THE PRISONER AND NOT THE VICTIMS. VIGILANTE’S MIGHT BE WRONG BUT IT SURE FEELS SO RIGHT. I LOVED THE COVER BEAUTIFUL(cover shown is not the one on my kindle) BUT KINDA SCARY AT THE SAME TIME. THAT’S HOW THE STORY-LINE RAN.;D

A fragile blonde heroine, a seasoned weather-beaten cop with a heart of gold, sacrificing loving, cookie baking grandmother, a long suffering yet supportive, understanding, perfect boyfriend and a few one dimensional vigilantes. The characters were flat, a little too perfect a la Danielle Steele. Wish the author had fleshed out the backstories of the vigilantes more. Would have been a more interesting vantage point in my humble opinion. Ok read to pass a few sunny, or perhaps rainy afternoons
