A Single Rose

Rate this book
A Cat Burglar is at large...

...and he always leaves a yellow rose at the scene of his crime.
Florist Marissa Hughes becomes suspicious of Wadleyville's newest resident, a handsome Latino who routinely requests a single yellow rose when he visits her shop. Marissa believes something's amiss---could he be the town's notorious thief?

Antonio Ramirez is starting over after a less-than-stellar acting career in Hollywood. He's traded in the fast-paced, West Coast life for a quiet existence in rural Ohio. Soon, though, he's starstruck by the timid owner of the local floral shop. But why won't she allow him to be more than her friend?

Is Antonio guilty of stealing more than Marissa's heart? Can the Lord's truth overcome some incriminating coincidences?

Pamela Griffin lives in Texas with her family. She fully gave her life to Christ in 1988 after a rebellious young adulthood and owes the fact that she’s still alive today to an all-loving and forgiving God and to a mother who steadfastly prayed and had faith that God could bring her wayward daughter “home.” Pamela’s main goal in writing Christian romance is to help and encourage those who do know the Lord and to plant a seed of hope in those who don’t.

I don’t usually hate on books because Ik how hard they are to write and how proud of a finished piece an author is…

But.

THIS WAS THE WORST BOOK IVE READ IN YEARS 😭😭

Main character? INSUFFERABLE.
also a pick me which made me want to claw my eyes out.

Love interest? Reminded me too much of Richard Ramirez. Also everyone was fawning over him for absolutely NO. REASON. BRO DIDNT EVEN HAVE A JOB TILL LIKE PAGE 100! HE WAS A DEAD. BEAT.

There was some cute stuff, sure, but overall their entire relationship was creepy asf.

And the scene she had ‘him’ pinned down screaming about how he can just turn to god to stop stealing?? BE SO FUCKING FOR REAL 💀💀

This was 170 pages of pure cringing and second hand embarrassment.

Also, the ‘end of the mystery’ part as a whole was severely lacking in my opinion. Was left extremely unsatisfied with the outcome.
