Corrupt Intentions

Rate this book
Lacey: I’m barely alive. One of the men I fell in love with died in front of my eyes. And I got caught, thrown into a place where the other one is never going to find me.

Koa: I’m barely breathing. Ledger stands at death’s door and Lacey is gone. I am the only one who can find her. I can’t look my best friend in the eyes until I have her back. Because I knew she was going to be taken - this is my fault.

Ledger: I won’t survive. My body is fighting, but my soul is dying. The first woman I ever loved was abducted and my best friend left me to fend for myself.

Corrupt Intentions is a full-length, why choose romance. It is the second part to a duet - The first book is Legal Intentions,- which ends with a cliffhanger.
It is recommended you read that first. Corrupt Intentions ends with a HEA.
Please note that it contains explicit language, violence, kidnapping, trafficking, murder, and surprise pregnancy, as well as multiple graphic sexual scenes.

Holy buckets what an emotional roller coaster. Corrupt Intentions picks up right where Legal Intentions left off and it was right to the races with drama and suspense. It’s darker than the first book and I think held my breath for most of it. The multiple POVs moves the story along and kept me interested while everyone works through their trauma. There are less steamy scenes than the first but the ones we do get are 🔥

Overall really enjoyed the duet - this is darker so make sure you check trigger warnings.

Review of both books

The first book I enjoyed about 3/4 of it. The plot of how easily the FMC found herself to be in a relationship that was controlling I thought was honest and open, how gradual you can find yourself in these relationships but can’t as easily leave.
I thought the premise of the initial plot was good, the FMC having left one relationship with a cop and not trusting another but that’s about all before I lost my enjoyment of it.

I think maybe some more character development might have helped but there wasn’t much before the FMC and MMC were randomly going at it. It had been about an hour after leaving a long term relationship with DA and she’s being tied up and used by another cop…. In a storage room in a bar.

Then we have the lock of concern with any of her SA reports by her boss, who was the police chief, and also the boss of the man she was reporting.
I understand and know that not every case is treated the right way in life but the fact that there seemed to be zero action from reporting something like that occurring in the police station from the chief just seemed hard to connect with.

The second book for me became implausible and just dramatic to write words than to lend to the story as a whole. I just didn’t connect with it

This book picks up right where book 1 left off. Seeing how Ledger, Koa, and Lacey dealt with their own trauma was very emotional, especially when Lacey was found. The spicy scenes were great, and the ending was very satisfying. I thought for a minute Ganzo was going to join the club. On the other hand, the pace was a quite slower. About 70% of the book is angst, which was a bit disappointing as book 1 was exquisite and fast paced.

THIS BOOK HAD MY HEART RATE UP LIKE I WAS ON CRACK

I was lucky enough to read an ARC for Corrupt Intentions and it is the perfect conclusion to Legal Intentions (which you absolutely need to read first). I change my previous comparison from Law & Order SVU to Criminal Minds. Adrian is f**cking INSANE. The definition of insane.

I was on the literal edge of my seat trying to get through this book, to the point that my husband kept asking if I was okay because my heart rate monitor kept going off.

The spice doesn't even need to be mentioned because just take my word, it's top tier and you will be changing your panties. But LORDY the corruption and drama had me envisioning a movie the entire time. The detail that went into the descriptions was perfection .

Anastasia Wight is a talented new Indie Author and I will definitely be continuing to read her future works.

You pick up immediately where Legal Intentions left off and are thrown to the gators. This book is much more heart wrenching and suspenseful than the first. You’re left waiting and wondering until the very end. The trigger warnings for this one are much more than the first but they really elevate the book to the next level. I don't want to give too much away because it's easy to spoil the book with a few words.

This one picks back up where book 1 left off. It is much darker than book 1 so definitely check the trigger warnings. It also is slower paced, with more angst, and less spicy scenes this time around, but when there are spicy scenes they bring the damn heat. It does get right to the drama at the beginning though. I really enjoyed the multiple POV’s and getting to see everyone work through their own trauma. PS: My hate for Adrian is forever solidified and written in stone. That man had me feeling SO much anger and resentment words can’t even begin to describe it.

Broken relationships

Lacey is missing, and Koa and Ledger are not speaking. This is where we kick off this conclusion to the Moral Crossroads Duet. Everything has fallen apart, and emotions are high af. It's going to take love like no other to fix this rift between them. Adrian is still out there threatening everyone's lives. You must read to find out how this concludes. It's truly awful and beautiful in equal measures.

I thought I was gonna scream at the first few chapters of the book, and then I almost cried of happy tears. This is the second book in the series, and I am so glad I started this series. Anastasia, you have done it again... I definitely need more of these characters.

Corrupt Intentions picks up right where Legal Intentions left us with Koa, Lacey, and Ledger finding themselves in a bit of a predicament to put it lightly 😅

Lacey is kidnapped, Ledger is left for dead, and Koa doesn’t know where his best friend or the love of his life are. He’s going out of his mind with worry, and he has no answers.

This book was emotional with Lacey being taken, everything she saw and went through, and continued to be an emotional rollercoaster through the book when you find out she’s keeping a bit of a secret from her boys 👀

I loved the drama, I loved the excitement, I loved the mystery, and I lovedddd the spice !

I would definitely recommend this series to anyone who’s looking for an easy, fun, spicy, (touch of darkness) read ! I enjoyed them and I will definitely read more from Anastasia in the future ! 🖤

Again I absolutely loved it!! Where the first book was very heavy on the spice this one had more plot to it (we don’t actually see any spice until about 70% through).

This was such a gripping read!!

Again check TW before going into it but highly recommend!!

I’ve been eagerly awaiting this book as I couldn’t wait to find out what was next for Lacer, Koa & Ledger and it didn’t disappoint. My heart was all over the place reading this book, one minute it was in my throat and the next it was breaking before being put back together again. Lacey really comes into herself in this book and I enjoyed watching her grow stronger and learn to stand up for herself but I was so glad she learnt to accept the love that Koa & Ledger wanted to give her. Absolutely brilliant read!

This series had me caught up. I'm so happy I was able to finish this wonderful series and find a new author to worship. Koa, Ledger and Lacey are back. Some doing better than others. I'm not going to get into the nitty-gritty of the story. Just know that it gives readers exactly what they want. If you read the first book, you will be happy with the conclusion of the series.

Ms. Wright knows how to create a world that readers can immerse themselves in. I gladly jumped in and enjoyed the ride. This dark ride will have readers on pins and needles with everything the main characters went though. I fell in love with this throuple and I know other readers will as well.

Oh my god! They way I DEVOURED this book in basically a day should be illegal.

Book 2 of this duet picks up right where book 1 left off- Lacey has been kidnapped, Ledger has been shot and Koa is a mess! This book could not have started at a lower place- you have no idea if anyone is going to be okay and there are so many questions that you have as the reader that are left unanswered. There are so many twists and turns in this story that finding the words for me to leave my review is difficult due to my fear of giving anything away but let me tell you- this book grips you from the beginning, especially if you are coming off of reading the first book and need to know what happens next and keeps you on the edge of your seat from start to finish!

What I particularly loved about this story was the tenacity and fierceness that Lacey displayed. Her back is literally against the wall for a good chunk of this story and she is determined to fight to not only protect herself, but also Koa and Ledger. That determination to fight does lead to some tense borderline heartbreaking moments throughout this story, but I think without that tension and fear that all of our MC's feel, this story would have fallen severely flat and would not have been such an entertaining read. I also really loved to see some tension between Koa and Ledger. They were such close friends in the beginning that I didn't think that anything could break them apart but the beginning of this story certainly proved that even they had their breaking points and it was really interesting to see them navigate their hurt and problems with each other just as they navigated the same with Lacey.

I also really loved that we got to see our characters grow their relationship. While not conventional, they certainly grew closer to each other as the story went on, especially with the chance to get to know each other. It was really nice to see all of the fear that went into their thoughts on their relationship- some being could they all love each other and some of that fear being how society would react to their relationship. I think the detail that was put into that growth was fantastic and really made me fall in love with each of them all over again.

This was certainly one of my top reads for this year and while I am sad to see this duet come to a close, I am excited to read more from Anastasia Wright.

Phew okay real talk.. this was rough for me to finish but not in a bad way at all.

We pick right back up from Legal and I was holding my breath because we can't just start to get him and wham, he's taken away. I almost through my kindle until I realized.
Except then I got angry, I felt alll the emotions right along them all.

I never expected this to go deep into a thriller and be what it was but it was soo good and kept me interested from the beginning. I did have to stop and take a breather a couple times because the details are so specific.
I loved the dynamic in this one, although Lacey rubbed me the wrong way with her selfishness in the beginning, I was able to see past it and until Ledger. His confession had me tearing up and for good reason. I am glad that Koa was there in this book but he was almost a secondary in this book and it became about Lacey & Ledger where Legal was about Koa & Lacey. Each book built up the individual relationships and they come together in this book seamlessly.

Did I expect what comes next? Kind of, it is a why choose, but also it doesn't have to always go that way. That was my one take away from this book but it ultimately added to the banter between them and it makes sense and its a good call back to book 1 when it is discussed or rather blurted out.

As with the first one there is plenty of everything that was in there but them spicy scenes in this book -fans face- all I will say is prepare for that hot tub ;)

The triggers are HEAVY so please please read them before reading. The warnings are there for a reason, although this book touches on things that are dark and some may find disturbing it doesn't take away from the story but those things are needed to make this what it turned out to be.

Job well done Anastasia, you are a new author to me and I cannot wait to see what comes next!

Please do not come for me, I know a lot of people loved this but I just… it didn’t do it for me.

There was so so so many inaccuracies that ripped me out of the storyline. Can I just say the biggest one being: Glocks do not have safety buttons nor do they have hammers. Every time I read that I cringed. That would have been a very very easy thing to search.

It felt just super rushed compared to the first book. Some of the plot resolutions were left with holes. How did they get into witness protection? They went into hiding, not WP because they would’ve had all new ID’s, new documents, literally nobody would have had their new phone numbers, and there would have been way more security measures in place. Why was Adrian trying to buy a gun to hurt them when he was a cop? I’m fairly certain Lacey said she knew Adrian had weapons, but even if she didn’t most cops have at least one personal gun. There was no reason for that subplot to be introduced it just furthered the “Adrian found us” narrative which could’ve been achieved with him being seen at another gas station or shopping center.

These are just like… the first few things that come to mind. The fact that he turned out to be some deranged serial killer didn’t sit right with me either because that was literally just a blip in the first book. The serial killer was mentioned like maybe twice, and for it to play this big of a role feels like it should’ve been a bigger deal but then at the end of this book there’s just zero mention of that case being closed. Idk idk idk. These are all my personal feelings about this book. There was again more smut than I felt was needed to push the plot along.

I just felt like the author could’ve done a bit more research into some of the aspects of this story.

This book picks up right where Legal Intentions left off. Anastasia may have left us with a MASSIVE cliffhanger, but luckily we get answers relatively early in this book. She did a fantastic job with this story. It was fast paced, well written, and the plot wrapped up so nicely. It was the perfect conclusion!

I loved reading how each character navigated the events that occurred at the end of the previous book. It was nice to see them all need each other in some way. Lacey was so strong in this book and it was beautiful to see her own her life. Luckily she had amazing people in her corner, including her best friend Bri. They had some of the best interactions!

“I’m covered in hickeys and bite marks. I look like Bella Swan when she got turned.”

I am officially OBSESSED with Koa and Ledger. Two insanely attractive, possessive, and protective men? SIGN ME UP! They were the perfect balance to one another, and they both loved Lacey with everything they had. And the spice?! While it may have been more of a slow burn in this book, it was still HOT!

While this is a romance book, there was definitely a suspense aspect that had me on the edge of my seat!

I will definitely continue to reading Anastasia’s work and can’t see what else she has in store! Thank you so much for the arc opportunity!

👯‍♂️Why choose?
🤰🏻(towards the end)

Do yourself a huge favor and read Legal Intentions before making your way over to book #2, Corrupt Intentions.

Lacey finds herself in a relationship with the hot cop of her dreams… until things quickly start to go south. God, I wanted to 👊 him so many times. After he gets physical, Lacey leaves and ends up in the hands (literally 😉) of Officer Koa Maverick and his best friend & partner, Officer Ledger Hyde.

baby girl goes from losing her 🍒 to Officer Ahole months prior to experiencing spice galore with the two men 🥵

However, Officer Ahole isn’t willing to let her go and she’s a very important piece to a much larger puzzle. Well aware of his reputation of äbusïng women and it’s personal 👀

Will Koa & Ledger be able to keep Lacey safe?

When I tell you I was RAGE reading and SCREAMING at the end 🫨 *this does end with a HEA*

I just finished the Moral Crossroads Series and I am in love. Ledger and Koa are literally book boyfriend material. If cops are your thing, this is a world based around it. Just ask our FMC, Lacey 🤭 who gets not just one but both, together, if you get what I’m saying. I absolutely powered through both books, they were absolute page turners. I don’t really want to say too much about the second book because honestly I’d end up spoiling it all. But if you’re looking for your next read and want a touch her and die vibe this is it. Take a dive and fall in love with Ledger and Koa like the rest of us.

This book did take me on an emotional rollercoaster ride that I was NOT prepared for however, the ending was justi beautiful! It was a very slow burn but the wait was so worth it! I absolutely loved how perfect the ending was for Lacey, Koa and Ledger! I cannot wait to see what book is next for Anastasia! I’m obsessed with her and her books!

We picked up right where we ended!! Which I was so thankful for. But also, I had much anxiety because Adrian was so unpredictable 😭 I want to fight him so badly!!! And don’t get me started on Hanes 🤮

I think I went through all the emotions with Koa, Ledger, and Lacey. I was routing for them the whole time!

I love this series! I’m so glad things ended how they did 🥹 it was a bumpy ride, but they definitely deserved their happily ever after after what they all went through!

Can’t wait to see what Anastasia has next for us!

After the cliffhanger on book 1 I couldn’t wait to read Corrupt intentions and it didn’t disappoint! My heart broke for Lacey and what she suffered at the hands of Adrian and Hanes and that poor girl Mara 💔 I love that Lacey got herself out of that shack and escaped Adrian! When she was reunited with Koa, I cried!! I love the relationship with Lacey, Koa and Ledger and I think it made the book more realistic that they went on a break after Lacey was found. Loved that Adrian and Hanes got what they deserved after terrorising everyone for too long! I’m happy the throuple got the happy ending they deserved! The writing in this book was fantastic, such a great read! Can’t wait to see what comes next!!

This book picks up right where Legal Intentions left off. The first few chapters are intense, but it's so good to have a book full of spice that also has a strong storyline.

I would have loved a bit more at the end after all the suspense and drama, but honestly, I would have just loved more of everything because I am absolutely invested in these characters and their story.

Also, I really hope Bri gets her own story cause she is wild, and I think she would for sure keep any man (or men) on their toes.

I look forward to more from Anastasia Wright ❤️

Amazing book. This was the 2nd book in the series and it wrapped everything up that happened in the first book. All of the same characters were in this book. Lacey was taken at the end of the first book. This one had the outcome of all of that. Adrian had something to do with her being taken. If you can handle the darker side of books this is a great series. I highly recommend it. I love how it all played out. I loved all of the characters especially Bri. She is a firecracker. I can’t wait to read more by Anastasia. I hope she writes more about these characters especially Lacey and what is next for her.

The Wild Ride Continues!!

This book starts off where book 1 ends - so make sure you read book 1 - it’s a duet!  This story has twists, turns, emotional angst and moments that make you gasp. I yelled at these characters because at times they pissed me off and oh how I wished I could hug them.  Koa and Ledger are two of my favourite book boyfriends and I hope there are more books to come that they visit in because I want to know more about this throuple

I really really enjoyed the 1st book of this series, Legal Intentions. I appreciate that this book wraps up the story and solves/resolves the outstanding issues. Parts of this book were super exciting & intense. I felt like some of it was dragged out a bit to fit in some extra spice. Don't get me wrong, the spice was great! But it did make the story lag just a bit. Overall still highly recommend the duology!

First half of the book had me yelling, second half had me swooning. Thank you for the opportunity to read again! ;)
