It's like a 2.5 star book. I got this on accident thinking it was another billionaire's baby cause there like a million out there. Anyway, this book is not bad but I wasn't expecting great or even good. Every now and then I anticipate a book, wait anxiously, read it and get so disappointed I'm lost. This is where these books come in.

They're simple, cheesy, over the top and a lot of omg how stupid! Who does that?! Do people really talk like that?! moments. So, because books like these are my rebounds from my main books that have broken my heart, I'm not going trash it.

Max was a Asshole! Ugh I don't know why Sophie put up with his crap, but she was a total doormat so it was expected. I enjoyed the book for what it brought me. Even the over the top ridiculousness and the all of a sudden you are my whole world. I did finish the 4th book as well so I could have closure on the couple.

That is all.

This was by far the worst thing I have read, don't get me wrong I'm not criticizing the writing but the story..

We have Sophie this innocent 22 year old virgin who has been crushing/in love with her best friends older brother.. I SWEAR TO YOU NOT..she is sucking his dick two hours after he picks her and her sister up from the train station.. now this is the virgin that blushes when she is in his presence..this is the girl who has never done anything more than kiss a boy..
The worst part?
So, 2.5 hours later he is ready to stick it in, do his business without a condom..asks her are you on birth-control and this bitch lies and says she is.. she doesn't just lie that one time, she loses her virginity and sleeps with him 6 more times that night each time without a condom?! This book was worst than the maury marathon!!

That's worst than putting holes in condom.. sweet innocent Sophie stayed sweet for the first two sentences..and supposidly this book is free on amazon from 5.99 original price, I'm ready to ask for a refund for the time wasted reading this!

i read 30% of this book before i gave up. i'm sorry but the characters are majorly dimwitted - sophie repeatedly has unsafe sex and then hopes to christ she isn't knocked up! are you kidding me?! maxwell treats sophie horribly, he is hot and cold, pushy and rude and yet she continues to fall at his feet and have sex with him whenever he wants it. that shit is pathetic. she's a doormat and even if their relationship progresses once she's pregnant (oh sophie, you fool) NOTHING can make the early way he treats her okay. it's gross that women find characters or couples like this sexy and regard them as 5 star romances. if this was done in real life i should hope these women and young girls would use their brains or at least have friends/family members around to give them advice and help them realize they are worth more than that.

this entire book is poorly written and could also do with an editor.

The Words He Wanted to Hear:

I liked the 1st part but there were a few things that I didn't like:

1. It was too short of a book especially for the price
2. Needs to be edited

My biggest problem is the shortness, it's a great plot and story but it could have been so much more had the story been polished and lengthened.

The Words He Didn't Want To Hear:

Okay, so this book was better than the first, I still think it could have been longer...or maybe just made into one full novel and not 3 mini novellas, but with that said I did like this one a lot better than the first.
I am looking forward to reading the 3rd book to see how this ends.

No Words Left to Say:

Okay, so the last book was great...I still think it should have been just one full novel, but I am glad I took the time to read it. I am looking forward to the New Beginnings book coming out to see even more of the story unfold.

All in all I loved the Series in a whole, but these were my reviews for the individual books.

Extremely hot!
Maxwell will make you want a best friend's brother to be just like him! Dominant, sexy, and hiding a deep dark secret! When he encounters Sophie this winter holiday, he is unable to control himself and it's Hot. As. Hell!!!
Sophie, who has been in love with Maxwell for years, decides to entice the unattainable Maxwell to see if their spark will lead to more. Even she is not ready for what all she releases inside him. With his hot and cold attitude, she is even more confused as what to think. Sophie decides to take matters into her own hands to try and figure out what Max is hiding but she is not ready for what she reveals....
A very enticing, sensual story with a wonderful ending!

Not the book I expected.

I jumped at this book as soon as I noticed it in the free list, the blurb sounded great and it had three reviews all 5 star plus it was the complete collection, I couldn't wait to get started.
As we know from the blurb Sophie has been in love with her best friend Ella's brother Max forever so as she travels to spend Christmas with Ella's family she's excited at the prospect of seeing Max again, Sophie's is a young love, verging on obsession she dreams of Max and keeps a journal and writes poems about him. She's too young to understand that Max may also have feelings towards her and that's the reason for his almost Jekkyl and Hyde behaviour.
All sounds good, yes it does but when put together it just didn't work for me, the three 5 star reviews suggest I'm in the minority but I thought it was a bit of a mess, I'll try to explain without spoiling the book or giving anything away.
Firstly Sophie seemed much younger than her Twenty-two years, she's shy and quiet so that could be a part of it but it's more than that, anyway the first night they go out she's nothing to wear and she's a size 8 compared to Ella's size 2 but she squeezes herself into a very short tight stretchy black dress, it's shorter and tighter than anything she's worn before so she's naturally uncomfortable, we discover later that she's worn this dress to a bar and not put any knickers on, this should have been the point at which I stopped reading. I mean knickers are not just something you forget especially when the dress you're wearing is barely covering your butt. Like I said I should have stopped there, I did pause but then I continued on, my mistake.
I have to say that only someone blindly in love could have continued to have feelings for Max after the way he acted and treated her and Max...I can't say more without spoiling it but the bones for a decent book were in here somewhere but for me anyway it didn't work, I'm not remotely tempted to continue on and read 'New Beginnings'

5 Stars

Oh this was such a lovely read! I totally loved the story plot and the characters. It's a fast read, romantic and sexy. The book needs editing though, but I enjoyed it so much that 5 stars are totally deserved.

Maxwell Van Harkel is a 30 years old billionaire...sexy, blue eyes, dark hair. He's the brother of Ella, Sophie's best friend. The Van Harkel's are one of the top 100 richest families in the world. Max lives in NY and is the CEO of his family empire.

Sophie is a 22 years old student of Columbia University in NY, green eyes, brown wavy hairs, with freckles in the nose and cheeks. She lives with her best friend Ella in an posh apartment in Upper West Side in Manhattan that Maxwell bought for Ella while studying there. Ella is more than a simple friend and roommate to Sophie, she's family...they have met in a boarding school when they were 7 and never separated from each other. Sophie is an orphan since she was 7 and Ella's family became like her second family...and so began her love for Maxwell since she was a kid.

I loved Sophie so much, she's such a kind heart, pure soul. Sometime though I wanted to slap her for all the times she permitted Max to treat her like shit...but on the other hand her love for him is so consuming and he has meant so much in her life as orphan kid that I kinda forgive her and him :D
I wanted to kick Max's ass many times...but you know deep down his hiding his feelings for her.

I totally loved this book, Max and Sophie's story continues in the second book "New Beginnings" New Beginnings (The Billionaire's Baby) by Helen Cooper

Sophie was in love with her best friend’s brother from the day she met him. Max is a hot heir to a billion company and he is the usual womanizer guys like him are. Every time Sophie sees him he has a different girl with him. Now she is all grown up and things get steamier between them. Max’s moods though change all the time and for a second he wants her and the other he says what they are doing is a mistake, pushing her away.
I liked the trilogy and the story. I will say that this is the recipe which sells now. Sexy possessive man unreadable, who gets what he wants and makes you want him.Still I am a sucker for stories like that so I liked it.

I did finish this book, but that was not because it was good. The characters are flat, jumpy and unlikeable. The authour made the women seem like naive, stupid, silly idiots, while the guy was either an a**hole or whiny like a girl. The plot sounded promising, but the execution was bad. a lot of potential wasted on characters that kept changing their minds every five seconds and never went through with anything. If you are looking for a nice read...this is not it.

An interesting read. I see how they have been in love with each other for years. But some of this story was just a little bit too unbelievable. I am a fan of Ms. Coopers though so I will try again with the next in the series.

This book was horrible! The narration was awful and very monotone. The writing was poor. The characters are flatter than flat. The main characters are not people you want to root for what-so-ever. I’ve read and enjoyed better fan fictions. So much telling and the writer is addicted to adverbs.

Has a number of grammatical errors including missing words and just incorrect words used. The story itself was ok but not something I would recommend as a must read.

More like 3.5, but oh well. It was still great!
I thought this book series was actually pretty good. I was just reading it to past the time, not thinking that I'd actually like it, but I did.
I thought the plot was fast-paced, but it still captured many moments. A lot of things happened, and the book was never boring. Though, there were a few moments that took a totally different turn than I thought it would, not in a bad way, but in a confusing way. Of course, it straightened out right away. Also, the sex scenes were...whoa. A little overboard. I felt like there was more sex than actual conversation, which lead me to think the love between the characters wasn't very strong.
But, even though there were quite a few flaws, I couldn't find myself to really care about them that much.
The characters were okay. Sophie was really naïve about so many things, and she got on my nerves a lot throughout the entire series. But I loved her determination and love for the people around her. Then there is Max. He was scary at times, but also oh so sexy. He confused me most of the time. One moment he was calm and collected, the next moment he was sex-craved, and then he was angry! I didn't really get his feelings of anything until the last, like, ten pages. Even so, I did like him. He was still caring in his own way.
So, I did like this little series. It was super short and only took me about two hours to read, so if you like a book series that is filled with sex and more sex, give it a go.

This could have been good and the first 10% wasn't bad. Max really was a jekyll and hyde but not in a well executed way. He started off being sort of Alpha and Dominant but I didn't buy it. I can see where this was going but it didn't end up well. The whole Alexis thing had me confused. Literally Max did a 360 when they confessed their love for each other and it was so out of character. He turned to mush. Also the whole "What he did years ago" had me interested but when you find out it was....meh. I was expecting more.

I had been eyeing this series for a while and pieces of it were on my TBR list, so when it went on sale and I had an Amazon gift card, I bought it and read it that night. I really wanted to love it. It was good, but I guess I was hoping for more. Not more heat, because there was a lot of that and if you want heat, ignore the rest of my review and snag this puppy now. You will not regret it. What I wanted more of was glimpses of their past or many be more of the "why we love each other" that I love finally ever after stories for. Will I read more by this author? Probably. It was a good story and having them all together in one volume was really a great way to read it. It was seamless and you did not feel like you were reading multiple books.

Sorry to confess but this is the worst read I have read in as long as I can remember. I kept reading after past caring, to see how bad it could get. The plot is very poorly developed, the characters are extremely bipolar given the way they are written, POVs sporadically change from heroine for most, hero for a snippet, and a random librarian for a minor scene. The heroine loses her virginity in a kitchen pantry for god sakes, and characters make comments that are out of left field (when Sophie meets Alexis for instance?) Needs much editing and the help of beta readers to flush out plot, characters and story construction. Nothing personal to author, just would let it bake a bit more with supplemental help before pushing print.

This story started well but little by little went downhill. I don't think the problem is with the story per se, I believe the problem are the characters and the way they were developed.
Max is an absolute mess. At one point I thought his big secret was that he was bipolar or something similar, the reader never knows where to stand with him. His mood changes were a bit too much and honestly, I wanted to smack him more than once.
Sophie was nothing more than a doormat to Max. He treated her like crap and she allowed him to do it over and over.
The whole mystery with the neighbor and her threats were never resolved leaving things hanging.
I wish the author would re-write this because it truly has potential to be a good book.

It's hot, it's steamy and it's my best friend's brother?!?! This book was hot, I give it four stars just for that. I can't give it the full five stars though because the big build-up about his past was such a major let down and as much drama as she had going on in this books, I would have thought it would have at least ticked her off a little.
The steamy scenes made up for that though. I know there are more books in the series, which I am thankful for as this one left me wanting more.

Ive read a book by this author before and thoroughly enjoyed it so i jumped at the chance to nab this while it was free. Now im glad i didnt pay for it. Although the two female characters are supposed to be in college, they sound like a pair of 15 yr old dimwits. Sophie is a naive twit who thinks that wishful thinking whilst having countless unprotected sex will prevent her from falling pregnant. Max is an arrogant, emotionally abusive pig who treats her like shit and yet she keeps going back. Surely his ability to give her orgasms can be that incredible? Sorry to say this book was horribly written with bad character development.

Oh my, my, my....I seriously am in love with Sophie and Max. Even though he was so hot and cold in about half the book, it was so real! I could truly feel how torn he was. I felt every bit of his turmoil. And Sophie, well let's just say that I love someone that knows what they want and fight tooth and nail to get it. And never give up!! Helen Cooper you have made me a lifelong fan and I truly admire how you have made these characters come to life. Can't wait for New Beginnings & to read every single book you have out!!

Loved these books. Can't wait to read #4. Sofie and Max have secretly loved each other for so long I was so happy when they got together. Of course Max has a dark past that they have to deal with and is a billionaire. For some reason when the men in books are filthy rich it makes them seem so unattainable. I was glad Max was so in love with Sofie. I was scared her love for him was going to unrequited. This is the first Helen Cooper book I've read, but I've read all her other books as JS Cooper and have loved them all.

Okay, I usually try to always be nice when I right my reviews even for books that I did not like but I am not sure how nice I am going to be able to be in this review. Okay, that was my disclaimer. Here we go... I did not like this at all the only good thing was it was short. The girl was just a dimwit that I wanted to knock some sense into. This girl acted more like a twelve year old girl than a 22 year old woman. I felt like a was ready some messed up teenage pregnancy book. Now, I kind of feel bad that I had to go off about this book but man...

I was on the edge of my seat with this book. I can't explain why, but I found myself hanging on every word that came out of Sophie and Maxwell's mouths because you can feel that there is so much more to what they say. the most annoying aspect of this book that gave it a three instead o four stars was all the grammatical errors and misused and misplaced pronouns. This bothers me! it interrupts the reader's train of thought.
