“Shadow Blind” is the first instalment “Shadow Warriors Series”. This book grabbed my attention from the first chapter - it had me totally intrigued and I could not put it down. I enjoyed the fact that the military terminology and acronyms were not “dumbed down” in respect of her readers. The story is quite intense but is most definitely worth reading - cannot wait for the next book in the series. It does sort of end on a cliffhanger but mainly the elements that I am assuming will be continuing in the series.
Aiden and Demi’s relationship is not in a good way. Demi is finding all the secrets, both work and personal, wondering if he will come home or not and that she wants more - the house, the family and a husband that comes home every night - to hard. Mind you, she has the relationship that she told Aiden that she wants - sex and that is it. Aiden is an elite Navy SEAL and can be away for days, weeks, even months at a time and not able to tell Demi where he is. Unfortunately, communication outside the bedroom does not seem to be good - neither of them being honest about what each other want from each other.
Aiden and his fellow Seal Team are “infected/attacked” by an unknown weapon that affects the brain and results in him being the sole survivor. He is rescued by Wolf, his half brother, who leads a covert Native American Special Ops team from the mysterious “Shadow Mountain”. When the supposed “rescue team” arrives, they find Aiden and the bodies of his team members nowhere to to found. They are after him now. He must ensure Demi’ safety as well - she is also bought to Shadow Mountain with her feral cat Trident.
The book has so many twists and turns - from page to page, chapter to chapter, you will not be able to put it down! The story is intriguing from the start and I could not put it down. A thoroughly enjoyable read from page to page, one chapter to the next - at times you are metaphorical “on the edge of your chair” wondering what will happen next. Overall, I would highly recommend this book and you will not be disappointed 😊

Shadow Blind is the first book in the new Shadow Warrior series by this talented author. My first encounter with this author was years ago with her release of Forged In Fire and I was hooked. In this current read we get to see her past Seals who are now part of the Shadow Warriors. I enjoyed that aspect of the book very much. You are immediately immersed in this book as Aiden's Seal team is attacked by a weapon they can't combat. This leads us to the Shadow Warriors stepping in for Aiden, the lone survivor. This book is complex and covers many different genres. Seals, Psychics, Psy Fi, and Native American (a tribe the author created) to name a few. It ends in a cliff hanger, the author tells you this so this aspect is NOT a surprise, BUT her books are worth the wait. Aiden and Demi will get their second chance at love, and this is another aspect to this well written, can't put down read. Aiden has resisted being a part of his native heritage but his half-brother Wolf (who is awesome by the way) keeps trying to get him to understand the importance of his role in the tribe. Then there is O'Neill... this one intrigues me. I can't wait for the next book!!! I was given an ARC for an honest review.

This is the first book in the spin off series Shadow Warriors. We revisit beloved characters and continue on the journey of the men and women at Shadow Mountain. This story is action packed from page one and never stops pulling us on Aiden and Demi's journey.
Aiden never thought anything could be worse than loosing Demi until he lost his whole team. Trying to survive his guilt and keep everyone clear of this new weapon he still can't stop himself from keeping Demi safe. Aiden has to decide if he will continue to battle the future he fears from his dreams or take the plunge into the unknown and fight for the survival of everyone.
This action packed story has everything you could hope for. It takes us from the ups and down in lifes relationships to struggling to find your place in a world you don't feel you belong in. We learn so much about his Native American heritage and their beliefs. We meet new characgters that we just can't learn enough about. This is an amazing start to the new series and I just can't wait for the next installment.

(4.5) Book 1 in the Shadow Warrior series and if the blurb on the book peaks your interest I highly recommend grabbing it. This is a multi facet, multi genre read that you want all the ground work for. There are layers of Native American, psychic, SEALS, ex Seals, Sci Fi and all meshed together with a second chance romance for Aiden and Demi. We are horrified when Aidens team is taken out, the way they go. We are immersed in the mystical aspect of the Shadow Mountain Warriors and their heritage. We root for Aiden as he pursues Demi. I also wanted to smack him with his stubbornness regarding Shadow Mountain. There are some losses, some twists and a cliff hanger ending. The author shares the ending is a cliff hanger, at least to those who grabbed an arc, so no dissing when your told that up front. Thank you for the opportunity to grab book 1 early. When I picked up this book, I didn’t realize that even though I’ve read many of the author’s books, I hadn’t read the series that directly ties into this one: Red-Hot SEALs. However, I never found that to be detrimental to my understanding or enjoyment of this book. I loved Aiden and Demi. I adored watching them both come to some realizations about their relationship, and their needs and desires for it. Both of them had a lot of growing and changing that needed to happen, and I think Aiden might have even more on the horizon. The suspense kept me on the edge of my seat and I’m desperate to know more. Please note that this ends on one heck of a cliff-hanger, we have a resolution for our leading couple, but the danger to their world is definitely not over yet.

Really liked the other stories in the previous series, but this one seemed to drag for me. The tribal phrases throughout became jarring to read for the flow of the story, as my mind had to keep on trying to decipher the meaning of the word as well a the pronunciation...
I wasn't a fan of the Aiden character (which is my own personal opinion), and found his character arrogant/ignorant to half his culture; which I get, but it just rubbed me the wrong way.
The technical/tactical of military vocabulary was also lost on me, even though I have read Ms McCallan's other books and I sure many other readers... We are all not military officandos where their terminology is an everyday occurrence for us ordinary folks.
Hope her next installment of the Shadow Warriors series is more pleasurable and fluid to read.

I usually steer clear of things that are paranormal based. Well I enjoyed this authors other works and I decided to give it a try. I didn't know exactly what to expect but I really got into the story and have to have the next one! I can't believe it ended like it did (cliff hanger for sure) and I can't wait for my friends to catch up so we can talk about it. So I'd say if the blurb peaks your interest then you should go ahead and give a read. If you're on the fence about paranormal, I'd love to hear if you were into it or not. I have found from talking to authors at book signings that the paranormal world is a vast genre like romance. You just have to figure out what you enjoy. You'll get action, suspense and romance but it's so much more.

This is book one in the series and what a world we have entered into. When Aiden and his team are on a mission that goes terribly wrong, and the only survivor is Aiden what caused this to happen and who is responsible? Who can he trust? When his brother Wolf and the Shadow Warriors come and rescue him, we start to learn a lot about the Shadow Warriors and what they believe in and the powers they have along with their heritage. Demi has broken up with Aiden what will it take to get her back. Will someone have to change to make it work? Lots of twists and turns, losses, second chances, and what role will Aiden have with the Shadow Warriors?

I loved the Forged series, and was looking forward to this, but found I did not have much patience for Demi *or* Aiden. I was happy to see Aiden starting to get some character development, but I wanted to take Demi over my knee. Six years since her husband's death and 3 years into a new relationship and she still acts like it was yesterday. Get some counseling, girl. The intrigue storyline is fascinating, though, and the Stargate easter eggs cracked me up!
I'm happy to be in the second book, which is focused on O'Neill and Muriel, with hints of Wolf and Jillian (can't WAIT FOR THAT BOOK!!). I'm also anxiously trying to guess how the author will solve the pending apocalypse!!

A great story. Aiden is a Navy Seal, he and his team are sent on a mission that goes FUBAR. He watches his team kill each other. He in the lone survivor. His team became infected with something that made them kill each other. His brother comes to his aid, takes him and his team to Shadow Mountain to figure out what happened. He starts to investigate what killed his buddies and things get weird, and he has to protect the love of his life that is getting ready to break up with him. What will happen. There is a cliff hanger. The next book picks up where this one ends.

Gripping from page 1! Having read Aiden and Demi's novella, plus the other books by Trish that feed into this world (Red-Hot SEALs) and this new Shadow Warrior series, I was definitely curious where she would lead these characters. I'm a paranormal fan and enjoyed her other paranormal books, loving how she melds my love for PNR and military, so this one didn't disappoint. Crazy revelations, new characters introduced to raise my curiosity, action, danger, edge of your seat suspense, love to salvage, new beginnings, and holy moly that cliffhanger!

This is a great start to a new series. I strongly recommend reading the previous linked series to have a better idea of the various characters. That said, the author does a good job of explaining the backstory and bringing the reader into the storyline. Aiden and Demi struggle with their feelings about each other and their fears. I thoroughly enjoyed the mashup of romantic suspense and paranormal genres in this book.

I haven't read the series that led to this one but holy cow what a way to start it of. Aiden a Navy Seal down to his bones , can't balance his career and his love for Demi at all. She's making decisions, he's focused on putting down evil, throw in a evil genius, and a whole lot of scary scenarios and you've got a story that will knock your socks off. I had to take my time reading this because if not then I would have missed pertinent parts. I'm ready for the next one.

Interesting🤔
Wow this was different. I wasn't expecting this story at all. Honestly it was very difficult to follow with all the authors new native language. I almost stopped reading but something pulled me into the story. The native language was not only difficult to understand but difficult to pronounce. The story itself was interesting and action pack. Very little romance but strong undercurrent. I will definitely be reading the next one and hopefully I Will understand it better.

Aiden and Demi. A new weapon. His team died. He was spared. He learns the world is in danger. And he must earn the love of Demi back. This is intense, intriguing, danger, in depth, suspensful, second chances, family, mystery, grabs your attention from the first page till the last, will have to wait for the next book. Aiden and Demi's story continue this great series. I love the world that has been created by the author. Aiden questions everything and I love how his character is developed until he finally accepts who he is in this world. His relationships with the other characters is just as I would expect it to be. And his goal to win back Demi? Absolutely love how these two realize what they are to each other.

The world Trish has created needs your undivided attention to understand it. We have so many things going on as many personalities impact each page. Aiden's role is big & has many facets to it. You feel for both Aiden & Demi 's love struggles & get super happy when they figure it out. Definitely a world to follow! Honest review.

WORTH THE WAIT
So many mysteries. So many shadows. Some illumination, but lots of darkness. The light is murky, and the answers are convoluted.
This book is the beginning of the Shadow Warriors series, and presents more questions than answers, more problems than solutions. It definitely kept my attention. Very highly recommend.

Very nice storyline. As always by this author. But the books in this series must be read in the sequence. They have cliffhangers. No independent, complete stories.. One single story thru the whole series?

OMG I can’t believe it ended here. The tension has been building. We’ve gotten to know the characters and grown to like them or hate them. Things are becoming clearer and bang it ends on a cliffhanger. I need the next one now.

I am so excited for this long awaited book.
The new threat is truly terrifying and the Shadow Mountain warriors have a fight on there hands.
We get to see our Red Hot Seals in their new lives, the loss of a team member brings grief and Aiden’s continued refusal to accept his role at Shadow Mountain amps the tension.
I can’t wait for the next book.

SHADOW BLIND Shadow Warriors Book1 by Trish McCallan
This is the start to a new series and I have enjoyed every minute of this book! Guys from the Red Hot Seals are there. This is Aidan & Demi’s story. After giving it much thought, Demi decided she was not happy with the Friends with Benefits thing they had going, she wants more, so she broke up with Aidan.
Aidan is forced to face his future without his teammates. He wants to work things out with Demi, he wants to understand more about Wolf’s (and his) native American way of life, BUT without getting sucked in to it.
Trish McCallan has been one of my top favorite authors since I picked up the 1st book. This book is extremely well written, full of romantic suspense, action, chemistry, paranormal activity and second chances. I hope O’Neill is the next book in this saga. He is intriguing, I am looking forward to the rest of this series.
As a friendly reminder, this does end on a cliffhanger. It is definitely worth the wait for the next book. I am giving this 5 stars, while wishing I could give it 10!

Aidan is forced to face his future without his teammates. He wants to work things out with Demi, he wants to understand more about Wolf’s (and his) native American way of life, BUT without getting sucked in to it.
Trish McCallan has been one of my top favorite authors since I picked up the 1st book. This book is extremely well written, full of romantic suspense, action, chemistry, paranormal activity and second chances. I hope O’Neill is the next book in this saga. He is intriguing, I am looking forward to the rest of this series.
As a friendly reminder, this does end on a cliffhanger. It is definitely worth the wait for the next book. I am giving this 5 stars, while wishing I could give it 10!
