A single dad sheriff doing his best to protect his town. A gorgeous stranger caught trespassing. A love never expected…
So, it turns out the town sheriff is a total cinnamon roll. A big, burly, grumpy, hot as sin, cinnamon roll. He found me hiding out on private property. Trespassing. I lied and told him I was only there because I was out of cash and had to sleep in my car.
I thought he’d give me a ticket and send me on my way.
Instead, he insisted that I stay at his guest house—right next door to him and his three kids.
I know better than to let them get close. I’ve been betrayed too many times to put my trust in anyone.
Too bad the air crackles every time he comes near, and I feel like I’m going to burn up every time I look at him.
All it takes is one reckless night to completely spiral into the bliss of the man and his big, capable hands. One dinner with his little family to completely fall.
Only I never told him why I really came to Time River. Now I have to choose to trust him with my secret before it’s too late for both of us…

3.5 stars rounded up because this is the first book I was able to finish for a whole freaking week (not for lack of trying)! Plus, adorable kids, a mystery, and two good people who’d dealt with loss and trauma finding love with each other. This book is part of a series but worked well as a standalone (I personally haven't read the others).
This was my first book by AL Jackson and I loved the characters! Ezra (H) was a giant, overprotective, kind, and genuine man who adored his kids and cared for his town. He's the sheriff and it's while he's checking out a report of trespassing that he meets Savannah (h). His nickname for her is Little Trespasser and hers for him is Hot Cop. Savannah first impressions. Savannah was a tough nut to crack at first because she's full of secrets and has barriers that she's built to protect herself from others. However, she's also naturally a softer person who wants to feel those connections that she denies herself. When her background is shared, it's also clear that she was resilient and just as protective as Ezra.
Savannah's in town looking for information on her sister, who she believes was there, but she's certain that her sister's in trouble so her investigation is covert. Ezra immediately wants to give Savannah a helping hand (not just because of an immediate attraction between them) and Savannah tries to do things on her own while also being enticed by Ezra. She doesn't immediately share her reason for being in town and it was completely understandable, even as I wished that she'd brought Ezra in earlier. There's a mystery involving what happened to Savannah's sister and Ezra's ongoing quest for justice regarding his wife (he's a widower).
Written in first person, dual POV (though there are flashbacks of H and his former wife showing their challenges that are written in third person). There are also journal entries included from a book that h is using to try and find her sister. No ow/om drama and neither are virgins (both appeared to have been celibate for a while, H had been since right at the time his wife was killed and h's history was sparse). Regarding the widower element, H's marriage was headed for divorce at the time of her death. It was rough to read though how everyone thought that H had been grieving his wife because they were so in love, when in actuality their marriage had fallen apart and he was torn up by his inability to save her from what was haunting her.
I did have a hard time in places with the author's word choices and flowery language. For example, some words that were used fairly often were used in a way that didn't feel natural and would make me pause. This is also a pretty long contemporary, which fit the fact that both main characters had trauma they were still processing and felt intense guilt over, along with the slow resolving of the mysteries of what happened to the two women each were trying to find resolutions over. But I did skim some closer to the end because of the length. Thankfully chapters are shorter so the flow there worked. Despite what didn't work as well for me, I really enjoyed this story and how Ezra and Savannah slowly opened up, exposed their vulnerabilities and secrets to each other, and built a strong, loving relationship. The steamy times are also slowly built to but man were they hot. Ezra might have been a caretaker, but he had a dirty mouth, he's a behemoth of a dude, and he likes it rough. Respectful in the streets and dirty in the sheets if you will.
There were many side characters in this book, some that were in earlier books in the series and some with books to come apparently. Plus important members of the town and possible suspects. Then there were Ezra's three kids (his daughter and twin boys) who were absolutely adorable. They adored their father and embraced Savannah immediately. His daughter was a little matchmaker too. Ezra was surrounded by love and support and Savannah also found her place quickly with friends of her own.
While moments do cause the main characters to have to sort themselves out at times, once they're together, Savannah and Ezra worked as a unit and there's no third act breakup. The climax of the book and the reveal of what had been happening in this small town was suspenseful with some darkness (triggers are below). All of the plot lines are tied up and resolved by the end of the book and Savannah and Ezra get their HEA in a lovely way. The epilogue is six months down the road and it was so precious. I was very happy that these two beautiful characters found where they belonged with each other.
This was a cute single dad romance with an outside who has come into the town with a secret. I do think the middle was a little drawn out with the romance, but I loved how the suspense came into play and unraveled at the end. The hero had adorable kids and I really liked how the heroine didn't want to get too attached, especially with how the town was treating her like an outsider who was just going to leave. And I loved the narrators!! Definitely check out this audiobook!
Wow! This book was the best out of the other two in the series. I was surprisingly shocked in the end of the book. I thought I knew what was happening but boy was I wrong. There was mystery, drama, suspense, love, spice, some tears, and a lot of cute moments. 🩷
Ezra who lost his wife two years ago happens to find Savanah sleeping in her car. Ezra (hot cop) decides to help her out because that’s who he is, and something about her just makes him want to help her. ❤️😍 Savanah who comes to time river is trying to find her little sister. That’s how their story starts.
What both these characters had gone through was so sad and raw to hear. Each having their guard up to protect their walls because they’ve been hurt before. 💔 Seeing these break their walls for one another and share their dark secrets was so beautiful. ❤️🩹🥲 I was hesitant on reading this one because I was afraid that it was going to be repetitive like the other two were, but the author did really good with writing this book. It kept me on my toes, and while I was getting close to the end that’s when all the secrets, drama, and action began. I couldn’t put the book down, that’s how much I loved it. 🥰
You can read this as a standalone but to get more of a feel on the town and characters, i definitely recommend reading the first two books. ❣️
this book was starting off SO good. the chemistry was in all the right places, their attraction was strong, very sexy single dad vibes… UNTIL we get some info on how the H’s wife died.
- H’s wife was murdered - H and his wife were having major problems before she was murdered (she cheated on him) but she was suffering from postpartum depression and mental health issues☹️ (he did nothing to help) - they were separated the night the wife was murdered but NOT DIVORCED - the wife called him before she was murdered begging him for help bc she feels like she’s being watched - H ignores her phone call because what is he doing??? he’s fucking some other girl (not the h)
now, i don’t know about you but i felt super icky to find out H was hooking up with another girl he met in the bar while his wife was getting murdered. yes, his wife cheated on him first but i kinda hated how he hooked up with another person SO quickly after not even divorcing his wife yet… maybe this is just me but this book describes the H as such a stand up man, as a good guy, as a family man but it left me feeling icky to read how fast he cheated on his wife when they haven’t divorced yet and mind you, she was getting murdered and called him for help but he didn’t answer because he was too busy fucking some girl he met at the bar.
this just made me feel bad for the wife🤷♀️ i want to hear your thoughts because reading this blindsided me because all throughout the book the H was praised for raising his kids alone (literally bare minimum) and describing him as SUCH a good, standup guy… idk cheating on ur wife doesn’t sound very stand up.
Claim Me Forever is the third book in the series and it just might be one of my favorites from this author. I just didn't want to put this one down, I was so easily consumed into this one. I really was endeared by this story. Its a story that features some unique dynamics of a grumpy hero. This setup is where our heroine has been drawn to the small town hunting her sister who has gone missing. The hero is a widow when his wife was murdered and taking care of his three children. The hero rescues Savannah in what he believes is a homeless situation. As Savannah and Ezra learn to trust each other, they both have secrets from each other. Seeing these two that have both suffered differing types of pain, learn to trust one another. We also have some adorable children moments within this story that utterly charmed me. I will admit the NARRATION is what made this book a five-star. It just elevates the writing style. But I will say that the writing style may not work for everyone.
The romance was sexy and fun and packed with deep emotion. There is something about this series that just works for me in every way. I also had a blast with the suspense plot. And how it connects Ezra's late wife to Savannah's sister was perfection. I am loving seeing suspense becoming more mainstream. We also see how well these two get along together. They are very in sync with each other. And love how the conflict between their relationship wasn't dragged out. Very superb!
3.5 stars. Claim Me Forever is the 3rd book in the Time River series, which I have been loving! This is a small town, single dad, close proximity, romantic suspense. The audiobook is narrated spectacularly by Zachary Webber and Desiree Ketchum!
Savannah ends up getting arrested for trespassing on private property when the story starts. Ezra is the sheriff in town and feels pulled to wanting to help her right away. He even finds her a place to stay and gets her a job! Ezra is a major cinnamon roll hero who just wants to protect and take care of her.
“Everyone deserves a safe place Savannah. Let me be yours. Even if it’s only for a little while.”
After a few more run-ins and things start happening to her, he asks her to move into the guest house on his property. Ezra is a single dad to his 3 little kiddos and has some hurt from his past he’s still kinda working through. Savannah has secrets as well for why she’s in town and what exactly she keeps get caught trying to look into. These two tortured souls find healing with one another, which was sweet. This one also definitely has a strong romantic suspense element to it! While I didn’t love this one as much as I did the first two in the series, this was still a good addition to the series.
I received an audio ALC from Valentine PR, all thoughts in this review are my own. Claim Me Forever is out February 20, 2024!
Another stunning and moving romance from AL Jackson!
Ezra and Savannah get off to a rough start but the sparks are there right away. His heart is closed off and he only has room for his babies and she's in town to find her sister. She has also been burned by everyone she's ever known. There is no trust in her.
But Time River has a wonderful community and Savannah can't help but be drawn in. She may be hesitant to reach out for help but that can only last so long. They both have pretty heavy pasts and secrets that their souls carry. So getting to that point is going to take some work. Through love and time those walls can be broken down. When you're meant to be together, things will work out.
Some other things to look forward to: -adorable twins and a sweet little girl -close proximity (she stays in his guesthouse) -He falls first -A mystery to solve -teasing with toys....
I listened to an ALC and the performances of Zachary Webber and Desiree Ketchum were brilliant. They performed the author's words so well. I personally believe audio is the best way to experience this author's works. There is a lyrical, poetic quality that needs to be soaked up.
4.5 stars 3 on the spice scale
CW: drug use, sex trafficking, Childhood SA, SA, mental health struggles
A feel-good romance about two broken souls who find their HEA in one another. Packed full of charm, heart, and heat with a sprinkling of angst. Highly recommended.
“You said you’d forgotten what being happy really was until I came here, but I don’t think I even knew what it meant until I met you.”
Amy has once again given us one hell of a swoon worthy story with Ezra and Savannah! I'll never understand how her mind works and the amazingness she creates with words, but damn Claim Me Forever had me in a chokehold with the sweet, swoon worthy characters that had me gasping on the edge of my seat with the mind blowing twists and turns. Every time I thought I figured the storyline out, she took it somewhere else entirely, which kept me guessing.
“Sometimes you need to stand back to appreciate the things you’ve been given. Memorize them. And sometimes you have to stand right in the middle of it to know that you truly belong.”
I have to say that Ryder and Dakota got a run for their money with Ezra and Savannah. These two were everything, and their story was a heartbreaking, beautiful story that had me rooting for their HEA. Plus, Ezra's three amazing kiddos just added the perfect touch to this UNPUTDOWNABLE story that everyone needs to read!
“Sorry to break it to you, Little Trespasser, but you’re mine, and I claim you forever.”
OMG yall Daddy Ezra is in the building and all is right with the world. I really am not one to speak around in a series even when authors say they are stand alones. I like to read things in order so I can get everything in context. I decided to skip book 2 ONLY so I could jump on this one. Ezra caught my attention from book 1. The cousin with the family and tragic past that is haunting him who happens to also be the sheriff. I kept trying to figure out if he would end up with one of the ladies we had already met but alas his lady was caught trespassing and bam there is your story!
Ezra is holding things together. He has his three kids. His mom nearby and is seeing his loved ones pair off. They all look at him with pity in their eyes but none of them know the real story about what happened between him and his wife who is now deceased. None of them know that they were all but done before she got murdered. None of them know he is still working that case as much as he can and that his guilt is eating him alive. Nothing can distract him from this until he gets a call about a trespasser outside of town. A beautiful trespasser in a car. A trespasser who catches his eye and who makes his savior complex kick in. He knows that she is in trouble and finds himself wanting to help her. He finds himself attracted to her and wanting to learn more about her. He introduces her to his friends and tries to help her get some roots. He does understand that she will be leaving after she does whatever it is she needs to do here. He holds himself back and tries to protect himself but the pull to her is just TOO strong. After a break in at her motel, he asks her to move in to his guest house and she eventually moves into his heart.
Savannah is on a mission. She knows that her sister's last message to her disowning her was sent under duress. She knows her sister wouldn't just abandon her. She just can't put all of the pieces together. That is why she is in Time River. To get the answers she seeks and then leave back to her life. But all of the changes when she meets Hot Cop AKA Ezra. The man who literally bulldozes through her defenses and tries to see what is really happening. He cracks her open faster than she thought possible. He makes her feel things she doesn't trust herself to feel because no one stays around in her life. She knows she is going to leave after she finds her sister but will her decision change when Ezra asks her to stay? When he literally saves her life? When she finds herself realizing she belongs in this small town with these people and that she deserves their love?
UGH This book was fantastic!! Both characters have their issues and I just love that they find each other to be able to help each other. Their chemistry is off the charts. The spicy scenes were oh so spicy. Overall I am loving this series. Now I have to dive back into book 2- Dakota and Ryder. I just know that one is going to be hot. Also looking forward to book 4 with Cody- the man who says he will never settle down!
Favorite parts: - Night out with the red dress - Savannah meeting the kiddos - Them both opening up to each other about their demons - The dancing scene at the festival
Where to begin? The title. It’s stupid. The writing: mind numbingly stupid. Rant incoming to the author: if your book falls completely apart if the two main characters have a normal conversation. You’re on fucking shaky ground. The mmc is a cop. HE NEVER ASKS ‘why?’. He’s immediately shit at his job. He never asks the fmc why she isn’t staying in town. In fact nobody does. They just accepts that she is getting a job and a place to stay but isn’t staying in town. Because if they ask her, the story falls apart. The fmc is such a stupid fucking character. I hated her. Her sister is missing. She should be telling everyone and anyone that will listen. She should be showing her picture around town asking if anybody had seen her. Instead she keeps it a bigger secret than Area 51. By the time things start to get revealed, it’s too late. I’m already so annoyed with this book. Another note to author: characters are allowed to grow and change throughout the story. They are allowed to reveal their motivations to each other and have meaningful conversations before the 70% mark.
This book could have been vastly improved by: The fmc and mmc having a conversation about 50% revealing their secrets, then deciding to partner and solve the mystery together. They could have put their stories together and start working the case. Finding out who the missing/dead were hanging out with before they went missing/died, interviewing them. Reviewing mobile data and retalking to anyone that had contact with them before they died. Getting into some sticking situations searching for the truth. They could have grown closer that way instead of insta lust that never really goes anywhere.
Stray notes:
The timeline makes no sense.
6 year olds don’t talk like that.
The diary: if that’s your only evidence. Make fucking copies! Take pictures with your phone. Why is every decision in this book baffling?
Little Trespasser and Aqua Eyes are the winner for worst nicknames I’ve ever read. (He also never really asks why she was sleeping in her car, he’s a fucking cop)
You know when you get a huge clue. Like You just solved the mystery, the tattoo matches. You did it. You found the bad guy. Do you: A- tell your cop boyfriend you were just assaulted and found a huge clue to the identity of the bad guy. B- say nothing, whats one more day of your sister potentially being held captive by a mad man or murdered and go home and have anal sex.
B the answer is B if you wrote this book and you hate your readers and are actively insulting their intelligence.

tropes: single dad town sheriff small town mystery subplot
claim me forever was so freaking good!😩
that mystery subplot had me itching to find out what was going on!! IT WAS AMAZING!!
and savannah and ezra🥹🥹💕 love how these two met and ezra just knew savannah needed extra love. the way he brought her into his family and life made me sob!! seeing savannah finally have that family and friends who just love her and nothing else made my heart burst. ezra, savannah, and those 3 adorable kids deserve the world 🥹🥹
I love me a good mystery romance yalllll. I'm on the edge of my seat while enjoying these swoony emotions and moments these characters are going through. I think I've never read an AL Jackson book so this is definitely my kind of vibe - hopefully I'll get to read more from this author soon!
A single dad romance ft a girl looking for her missing sister, so many secrets, grief, forbidden romance, slow-burn, yearning, and more.
4.25!! This was SOO good! My favorite A.L. Jackson book!
We get a cinnamon roll overprotective single dad who just wants to take care of the heroine and it was SOO SWOONY🤭🤭 Ezra is the perfect book bf >>> I also loved Savannah and her sass and the way she didn’t let Ezra get away with anything!
Ezra’s kids really stole the show for me and I loved their relationship with Savannah!! The romance between Ezra and Savannah was my fav in the series🫶🏼 they were so soft for each other and I adored every second.
The suspense took me for surprise and I didn’t guess the “criminal” which I liked! I wasn’t as invested in the suspense as I was the romance and found family, but I still really enjoyed it!
Overall, LOVED it! I go back and forth between 4.25-4.5 stars so my rating might change the more I think on it🫶🏼💖
“And I was still shivering from the tension that had curled around us like an unstoppable force.”
“You might be my favorite person in the world, Ezra Patterson, and that terrifies me.”
“Never have felt anything like you. I’m ruined for you.”
This book was so perfect I can’t even handle it. I still have tears in my eyes and can’t believe it’s over. I was not ready for Ezra and Savannah and the feelings they would pull from me. You could taste the tension and their desire from the very first page! The electricity that shoots through the pages anytime these two are near! I felt that current through my body throughout the entire book.
Ezra is a single dad who lost his wife two years ago. He’s still looking for answers, while punishing himself for her death. Savannah is passing through Time River in search of her sister and one night Ezra finds this little trespasser sleeping in her car on someone’s property and from that moment on, they’re linked. I love this immediate intense need of protection he feels over her. Touch her and you’ll die kind of feelings. It’s instinctual. She’s a runner, she’s been hurt her whole life and she is only here temporarily so starting anything with her hot cop is out of the question. Or is it….
Claim me forever is out February 20th and you won’t want to miss this one! Also, if you haven’t read the first two books in the series, Love Me Today and Don’t forget me tomorrow, now’s your chance! @aljackson you are such an incredible author, writer and human and I’m honored to be part of your team! You are the best 🩵
Narrated by Zachary Webber & Desiree Ketchum. I think they both did an exceptional job bringing Ezra & Savannah and their story to life. However, Zachary’s narration pacing was not on point for me, and I honestly can’t think of a time I felt like this about one of his narrations. When he conversed, he came across naturally, but his inner monologues were stilted and came across as being *read* and not narrated. It’s a fine point in reviewing, but narration is part of the experience, and his just didn’t make me smile *shrug* so I had to point it out.
STORY: 4.5 STARS
I’ve enjoyed Jackson’s writing style from the moment I discovered her a few years back, and even tho her prose is more often than not, not typical, and she tends to repeat adjectives which I assume is to emphasize the descriptor, she is one of the better storytellers out there. Her storylines are rarely out of the norm, and she always has something hidden in the shadows that turns a story on a dime and everything you thought was going to happen more than likely you thought wrong! LOL That last part I LOVE about her style. She turned this story on its head for me at the twelfth hour and it just had me spinning. It was a really good story until then. Once she spined it, it became extra for me. I almost rewound my audiobook and started again because surely I had missed a clue … spoiler alert, I had not. WELL DONE! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I’m sad that I haven’t had a chance to read and/or listen to Don’t Forget Me Tomorrow (book 2 in the series), not because I felt I’d missed out for the storyline’s sake, but because this is a close, tightknit community and they’re all involved in each other’s lives whether by blood or by choice so I did feel adrift a bit but the story does truly stand on its own. It was an expertly unfolded storylines with plot points that made sense, and all moved the story forward, even the dramatic ones! The characters and relationships were all very well developed and also grew as the story progressed. I was highly entertained and on my toes at every turn. Again, well done!
#FunTidbit: I don’t know whose idea it was to use *little trespasser* as the term of endearment, but if I did, I’d have questions. It was great a few times and it also hit the mark a few times but overall, no. lololol When I think about how many times I yelled (not in my head), “stop calling her that it is not as sexy as you think it is”, I laugh out loud like a lunatic. Like right now. ON THE FLOOR LAUGHING. If you’re wondering how this could possibly have ridden my very last nerve, it’s because Ezra used the term of endearment 55 times. Yes, FIFTY.FIVE. You may now laugh on the floor as well. Lololol
This one was utterly boring. The only parts that were interesting were when Ezra & Savannah first me and later when all the suspense was revealed. Everything else was boring.
I probably would’ve dnf’ed it but Brianna kept the book interesting when she popped here and there tbh ! I hated her character but she was the most mysterious & interesting among all of them. Even tho that mystery was clearly predictable. Only thing that forced me to read this book till the end was to see if Brianna & Jessica was the same person but i was relieved when that wasn’t the case.
I don’t think i’m gonna continue this series because I dnf’ed the first one and didn’t like this one. It was way too long than necessary.
Single dad + grumpy + three adorable kids ready to steal my heart written by AL Jackson?? I am sold!! Olivia and the twins were so precious. If you know me, you know I love some babies in my books and those three little O’s just made my heart so full. They brought the levity that was needed during this angsty read that pulled on my heart strings.
Savannah had grit, fire and single-minded dedication to her mission no matter how dangerous. She was in Time River for one thing and one thing only and it definitely wasn’t love. But, what she hadn’t counted on was the grumpy sheriff disrupting her plans. That Ezra tried his best to keep his heart closed but his little trespasser bulldozed her way in without even trying. I’m going to be honest with y’all, my heart and panties seriously just melt for a cinnamon roll and Ezra was it. When I say that filthy mouth was the opposite of sweet though?? I mean hot damn. He and Savannah’s love story was so sweet, so steamy, and just full of every single feel. Ezra was also not to be played with, while he was sweet to those he loved, he wouldn’t hesitate to take you out if you messed with what was his. Jackson for sure kept me on my toes. I swear the whole time I had one theory and she completely flipped the script and shook me!! Ezra and Savannah’s story was everything. I hated to see it end.
Zachary Webber and Desireè Ketchum were absolutely amazing! These two were the perfect Ezra and Savannah and their narration just heightened the tension, mood, suspense and emotion of story making for an unputdownable read.
A woman with her own problems, and a single dad of three... need I say more?? And the chemistry? 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥😍😍😍 You can't help falling for Ezra and his level of overprotectivness. His the town sheriff and a widow, with 3 young adorable kids.
His twin boys, Oliver and Owen, and daughter Olivia
I thought Ryder was awesome, but I just fell more in love with Ezra as I read. He just might be my favorite. I loved seeing how Ezra and Savannah just gravitated towards each other.
“Watch yourself, Little Trespasser, or you’re going to find out.”
“You’re everything I couldn’t believe existed and everything I’ve come to need.”
“And together, we were shattering the stars. Rising above the heavens. Floating somewhere that shouldn’t exist.”
“I love you, Savannah. I’m fucking in love with you. So far gone that I can’t think straight. So far gone that I close my eyes and it’s you I see. In so deep that I’m stuck. I’m stuck on you, Savannah, and that’s exactly where I want to be.”🥰🥰😍😍😍
“Little Trespasser, sneaking right into my heart and claiming it.” (Ezra)
Ch 45 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Ch 47 😂😂😂😂
**Small town **Single Dad Sheriff **Grumpy teddy bear **Mystery
Story: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Trope: romantic suspense, single dad Angst: 😱😱😱😱 Smexy: 🔥🔥🔥
Probably my favorite book in the series so far! Absolutely wonderful single dad romance with a heavy dose of romantic suspense. Beautifully written story with characters that just grab you and hold tight. Loved all the interactions with his kiddos, something Ms Jackson always does so well ❤. Can't wait to get the next book in the series!
🩵 Single Dad 🩵 Close Proximity 🩵 Cinnamon Roll Hero 🩵 He Falls First 🩵 Romantic Suspense 🩵 Touch her and die
Ahh Amy does it again 😍 She brought us a swoony MMC and a strong FMC. Ezra is a cinnamon roll single dad, but he brings the heat! He's the sheriff of Time River, and the love he had for his kids… I melt 🫠 His kids are so adorable, and I love their persistence and how Ezra can't say no to them wanting to bring Savannah into their lives.
Savannah is searching for someone, and she'll do whatever she can to find them. While doing so, Ezra and his little Family wormed their way into her heart, though her plan was never to stay.
Savannah Ward is on a mission to find her sister who has been missing for a few years . The only clue she has to go off of is a mysterious journal that showed up addressed to her which lead her to the small town of Time River . Except things are off to a very rocky start with no real leads, no sightings of her sister, no idea who the journal came from + no where to sleep except for in her car at the moment . Which is exactly why we find her right away being obtained + taken into custody for trespassing on private property . Things quickly start to form with the mysterious, sexy as sin, single dad sheriff but our little trespasser doesn’t know if she can juggle it all .
Ezra Paterson is the sheriff of Time River, sexy as sin, covered in tattoos, a widower of three years + a single dad to three adorable little kids . Things have seemed to calm down since all the antics of the first two books + Ezra is still “dealing” with the mysterious murder of his wife . But things start to pick up around town once he has locked his eyes on the new mysterious, trespasser in town . Before Ezra knows it he has fallen in deep with Savannah, but can he fully give himself to her when she knows that she will run ?
Every time I think that Amy can’t possibly make a better book than her last, she does . I have been waiting for Ezra’s book since the moment we met him in book one + holy bananas it did not disappoint ! Ezra is probably one of my most favorite cops I have ever read + I absolutely loved how Savannah complimented him so perfectly . I did see a little bit of the twist coming but the full extent of it all was such a good surprise ! I CANNOT WAIT FOR CODY .. GIVE ME CODY AMY PLEASE !!!!
(also random side note but I hate Ezra’s mother . no redemption ARC for her lol)
This is the third book in the Time River series + it can be read as a complete stand alone .
This book was given to me for honest review by Valentine PR + Literary Management .
This book could have been nice, but it was NOT for several reasons: If I were to estimate in percentages, I would say that 20% of it was an interesting plot, 30% of it was Savannah's recurring thoughts about how difficult her life was and how much she has now found her place, 30% of it was Ezra's thoughts about his past and how much he is In love, captive, broken, crazy on Savannah and another 20% were about the exaggerated descriptions of the earthquakes due to the relationship that was forged between them. Savannah and Ezra were overall nice characters with the potential to be deep, but they remained flat characters who repeated the same sentences over and over again, the same feelings and everything in a exaggerated dramatic sugary way . ( also , I hate all the murmuring ... ) The writing/ editing , in my opinion, was not good . I understand that the author wanted to emphasize the intensity of the emotions that swept the couple, but the repeated use of big and explosive words (broken, crushed, owned, awestruck , shuttered , claimed etc'...), and in chewed-up sentences, was ridiculous. Also , the use of separating words in the sentence with a period at the end of each word, to strengthen the meaning, was excessive to say the least. The goal of writing with this technique is to reach some kind of climax, a crescendo, where something is intensified (emotion mainly) As soon as this technique is used once per page (or more) it loses all meaning and all strength. It's getting annoying. irritating. insufferable. pointless.
4 'Yes. Definitely. Absolutely.' Stars! ARC provided via Valentine PR in exchange for an honest review.
All A.L. Jackson fans here, we have been impatiently waiting for the next story in the Time River world. Ezra aka cinnamon roll is here and ready to steal all our hearts! As always, Amy has been teasing us about this guy since the start of the series and let’s just say he finally gets his much-deserved happy ending together with Savannah and his mega-adorable children. Just like I said in my review of Don’t Forget Me Tomorrow, this book is another wonderful continuation to the series.
Claim Me Forever is the third installment in the Time River series and it tells the story of Ezra Patterson and Savannah Ward. Ezra is the town’s beloved sheriff, and he is surprised to find a little trespasser in a private property while on the job. He and Savannah feel instant sparks between them, and Ezra decides to help her. He insists on letting her stay in his guest house (right next door to his house and children) and that turns their connection into intense chemistry. But not everything is about that, obstacles and pasts get in the way of their feelings and it’s not easy to beat them.
It was the wrong fucking time for me to fall. For me to bring someone into my kids’ lives. For me to go putting my heart on the line, but I was afraid it might already be there.
I mean, I am a sucker for hot single dads. And Ezra does not disappoint! Together with themes like small town, heroine in danger, dirty cinnamon roll hero and falling HARD, Claim Me Forever turns out to be an engaging, entertaining, and full of heart (and heat!) love story. I just love Jackson’s way of writing; her narrative is almost poetic, and it just makes me love even more what I am reading. I loved Ezra and Savannah, their slow burn connection, the adorable interactions with the kids, the banter with the rest of the crew, the suspense and all the feels.
That’s what it felt like, looking at him. Like he was a beacon. A safe passage home. My safe place.
Therefore, I am rating Claim Me Forever with 4 STARS because it continues this series with another beautiful installment, with a couple that gives us all the swoons and feels and three adorable kids that will melt your heart. Yes, I do have to say I enjoyed a bit more the other two stories in the series (this one felt a bit slow at times) but still this third book was pretty good, enjoyable, and steamy. I cannot wait to read Cody’s story next!
Can AL Jackson write a bad book? The answer is NO!
Claim Me Forever is book three in the Time River series and this book is Ezra and Savannah’s book.
I loved Savannah! She’s sassy, bright, beautiful, intelligent and fun. She is on the hunt to find her sister when she finds herself in a small town called Time River. She’s found asleep in her car on private property by Ezra Patterson, the town Sheriff and from the moment of meeting Savannah, he wants to help her. He helps her find a place to stay and a job. They had an instant connection. Savannah had no idea that this town was about to change her entire life.
Ezra is a very protective man. He’s protective of the people he cares for and loves especially his beautiful children Olivia, Oliver and Owen and he is also the town sheriff. He lost his wife years ago and he has carried around so much guilt. He lives in fear that daily he is not enough for his children, that he’s not doing enough. When Savannah gets caught trespassing there is just something about her that has him wanting to protect her at all costs, wanting to help her and wanting to get to know her more.
Savannah continues to search for her sister, only now she has Ezra’s, the more time they spend together, the closer they get, the more their feeling become undeniable. The chemistry between these two is off the charts and it gets to the point where they can no longer ignore how they both feel about each other.
This book had my head in a spin and had my emotions on overdrive. It was so well written and as always, AL makes it so easy to fall in love with the story and the characters. She’s truly one of the most talented authors I’ve read!
Claim Me Forever is the third book in the Time River series and it was AMAZING! Ezra’s & Savannah’s story did not disappoint. It was the perfect small-town romance with lots of suspense, mystery, and spice!
Savannah is passing through town and is sleeping in her car and Ezra, the town sheriff helps her find a job and a safe place to stay. The attraction between them is instant but they are both are focused on different things. Ezra is searching for answers over his ex-wife’s death and trying to be the best dad he can, and Savannah is looking for answers over her sister’s disappearance. As they spend more time together, they find it impossible to stay away from each other.
Ezra is a total cinnamon roll and just so swoon-worthy! He is an overprotective single dad to the three most adorable kids ever! I loved him so much and how he just wanted to take care of Savannah and become her safe place! I also loved Savannah’s sass and how determined she was to find her sister.
The suspense element in this book took me by surprise! I thought I had it all figured out, but nope! There were twists and turns that kept me guessing until the very end!
The narration of this book was fantastic. Zachary Webber and Desiree Ketchum did an excellent job at bringing the characters to life and made me feel so many emotions! They were the perfect pair, and their performances were just so good!
