Reflections of a wicked witch.

Bryce and I are trying to revive Alondra’s old metaphysical history class. We’re in college again, this time teaching. But It’s stressful under our former teacher’s shadow. Not only that, there’s a new demon-witch messing with my love life. So I’m going through that again. Well, at least this time I have Alondra’s magic to protect me.

Actually, not only do I have her magic, her spirit is inside me, possessing me. But don’t worry, Alondra’s ghost is a positive force here to help Hawthorne. I mean…are you good, Alondra?

A witch council is gathering at my house to reflect on ways to save us. They’re convinced Alondra is evil, but Alondra and I are unsure they know what they’re doing. Well, if I can’t hold things together—inside and outside of myself—I fear my plans of finishing graduate school at Hawthorne U. and starting a family are going to shatter.

Update:
I listened to the audiobook for this story and once again, Alexa Elmy didn’t disappoint in bringing this story to life. She really knows how to make me feel like I’m experiencing the moment instead of just being told. She is definitely rising to be one of my favorite narrators. I can’t wait to see/hear how she does with the next book and her other work.

I love this series, A.L. Hawke has brought us the fourth book in this series. I recommend reading the two prequels, books 1 & 2, and the novella before this. Each book can be read as a standalone (aside from this book that ends on a cliffhanger) and recaps the major events of the previous books, but you get a better understanding and appreciation if they are read in order.

Things are definitely heating up for Cadence (Katie), Bryce, the coven and Hawthorne University. Cadence finds herself in more than one difficult situation. I love that her previous professor and High Priestess, Alondra, is still a big part of the story. I loved the way that Cadence is getting the answers she is seeking.

The questions/answers, suspense, chemistry, angst, character development and pretty much everything is on point and leaves you wanting more. I was provided an advanced readers copy. These thoughts and opinions are my own.

I read the first 3 in this series in just a few days in March of last year. I don't recommend going almost a year between books 3 & 4! I'm getting a bit old, & had little memory of what I'd read a year ago; which made it difficult to pick up where I left off.

This didn't feel quite as coherent or amazing as the first 3 ( & related books I've also read from Mr Hawke), but by about halfway through I was somewhat caught up & it started to make sense!

This one focuses on Kate/Cadence/Windsong, her husband Bryce & Alondra, her predecessor.

They unhappily take on "foes" one after another, but fortunately are largely successful. We are left with a cliffhanger, & some uncertainty as to what the author has in mind for the series moving forward. The list of upcoming books in the series Features 1 new book (Ravens) & 3 prequels; 2 of which have already been released.

FYI: There are several adult scenes, that while they are somewhat tame by today's standards, I would suggest 14 at minimum age; probably older.

Even though I had some difficulty with this one, I really like this author a lot & look forward to what's next.

I received a copy of this book at no charge, and I'm leaving an honest review.

Cadence and Bryce are now married and reviving Alondra's metaphysical history class, he as the professor and she as the teaching assistant. Life is still crazy from their Samhain Witch encounter last Halloween and life at Hawthorne University is somewhat unsettled. Cadence has an uneasy feeling that she's feeling Alondra around her, but it isn't long before she starts to understand that Alondra's inhabiting her body. Alondra urges Cadence to go find Liam to fight the evil that's present. While the premise in Witch Mirror is a continuation of the series, the execution isn't quite as focused as the previous four books. There's more rumination than action, more telling than showing and it takes a while to fully understand the transitions. The writing is spectacular and I had an unsettled, nervous feeling as I read, which is an indication of the talent of this author.

Audiobook: Book four of "The Hawthorne University Witch Series" was as entertaining as the first three books. Cadence was back at Hawthorne University trying to complete her graduate work; however, life wasn't simple. Cadence was possessed by Alondra's spirit, and a demon-witch was interfering with her love life. The story was complicated. I found the underlying themes thought-provoking. There was some profanity and some steamy situations described. Alexa Elmy's narration was great, and her performance enhanced the story's entertainment. I was given a free copy of the audiobook, and I have voluntarily posted this review which reflected my opinions.

Paranormal action and suspense.

As a teaching assistant in her husband's class, Cadence Wallace lectures in the style of her deceased professor. Cadence is more powerful than ever. Her possession by Alondra endangers the coven, Bryce, and the Council. Candace must regain herself or lose everything she cares about. She will need all of her powers to combat the dark witch.

It’s an exciting storyline. There is magic, grief, anger, battles, love, and loss. I received a free copy, but my review is honest and voluntary.

I love this series and the switch from student to teacher! Back at Hawthorne academy, we follow Bryce and Cadence and of course Alondra in this enchanting and magical read! Brimming with mystery and suspense as another demon witch appears on the scene to cause trouble and more twists and surprises, this is a great addition to this series.
