This story is about a girl who got bullied in her old private school after defending someone else who got bullied. Fortunate for her she transferred to the Cheong-Liang middle school, but her past still haunts her.

I really enjoyed the scavenger hunt for the next letter. At first I thought the letters would be some emotional journal or something but it turned out to be all about Sori's new school, which is cool as she gets to know the school better with an outsider's help. In the end, it turned out to be not just about the school building and faculty staff but memories Ho-Yeon collected while he was there.

Seeing that Sori wants to find the person who gave her letters and thank them was something I could understand a lot. It's not always easy to get used to a new environment after transferring schools and I think that person who gave her letters to search for let her feel more welcome at her new school.

Seeing the backstory of Dong-Sun too made me understand better how he learnt archery and how it helped to settle his emotions. I also felt warmth seeing how he befriended Ho-Yeon and that they quickly became best friends.

Yeon also managed to bring Sori and Dong-Sun together with the letter search. They might not had many things in common, but they both wanted to read the letters, so they too became friends.

But not just Yeon was able to bring people together in this book, Sori herself brought courage to bystanders of bullying. She made it possible that no one else got bullied, she inspired them to take action against bullies. It was truly beautiful watching how one defended someone who got bullied with such courage, not afraid to be the next victim of the bullying.

The only reason I was able to speak up against what I felt was wrong was all because of you. Because you stood up for me, I could stand up for the others.

The ending was so emotional. All dots were connected to eachother and I didn't even realise. This was definitely an emotional read that left me feel hopeful that Sori and Dong-sun will find all those letters. The main themes about this book were friendship, bullying and standing up for others when they are helpless. All the main characters were enjoyable and I felt truly happy for them to be all friends and support eachother through rough times.

Despite me really liking how the story unraveled, I would have preferred it if the story could have been a bit longer so that I would have more time to connect to the characters more strongly. This book wasn't really able to leave a strong impact on me as it didn't dive as deep into the themes of bullying and friendship as much as I initially hoped for it.

————————————————————
There was some cultural thing for the second chapter that many probably didn't understand, so I'm here to explain it: Depending on the type of school some students prefer to secretly order food (mostly done via Yogiyo) which is typically delivered to the school fence as the school food is nasty. South Korean schools typically don't allow students to bring their own food like Japanese schools or other schools usually do. So, if the lunch food is not tasteful for the student or they are still hungry after eating, they sometimes call delivery service to bring food to school secretly.
(I know this since I love Korean media and search everything up I don't understand. This is now already probably the fourth or so media I came across which displays this).

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Heartfelt Whisper Between Pages and People

Your Letter by Hyeon A Cho is one of those rare webtoons that feels quiet at first — like a folded note slipped into your locker — but unfolds into something deeply touching and unforgettable.

The story follows a girl transferred to a new school, weighed down by loneliness, until she discovers a series of letters left behind by someone who once felt the same way. What begins as a simple mystery becomes a tender exploration of empathy, connection, and the invisible threads that tie people together across time.

The artwork is soft and expressive, perfectly capturing that bittersweet atmosphere of adolescence — rainy hallways, fleeting glances, and the fragile hope of finding someone who understands you. Each panel feels like a memory you could almost touch.

What truly makes Your Letter shine is its emotional honesty. It doesn’t rely on dramatic twists or forced sentimentality; instead, it whispers its message gently: kindness leaves traces, even when we’re gone.

Short, sincere, and beautifully drawn, Your Letter is a story that lingers — the kind of tale you finish with a small ache in your chest and a smile on your face. It’s a reminder that sometimes, a simple letter can change everything.

→ Perfect for fans of emotional slice-of-life stories, soft art, and quiet catharsis.

Let me just wipe the tears rolling down my face real quick. 😭😭

This was my third time reading this Manhwa: years ago first on Webtoon in English where I enjoyed it so much I bought the Korean version and read it. And then now. In the official English edition. I remember being so excited over a year ago when I saw the announcement about this coming to the English market and now I’m finally holding it in my hands.

I’ve sobbed at the ending all three times.

It’s not a sad book per say, but the emotion builds up and I can’t help but cry at that final chapter.

This illustrations are beautiful and the adventure is precious. I love seeing friend groups in books, but the true friendship in this book is something so special as well. I love this little trio and their letter hunting. Maybe it’s because I’ve always liked treasuring hunting, but this manhwa is definitely a top favorite out of the 200+ I’ve read over the years.

For content notes, I’m listing the main stuff below, but it is important to know that this book does have a lot of bullying elements in it and trying to stand up for those being bullied, with it sometimes backfiring on that third-party bystander. I feel like if you’ve seen any Korean high school drama, it could be very comparable to that in terms of bullying and language. Bullying is very prevalent in Korean schools and also in this book. (Honestly the thing I dislike the most in this book would be a side character being called a witch and it being portrayed as good/helpful as that’s normalizing something with evil roots.)

Main Content notes:

Language: 1 screw, 1 s—-, 2 d—- it, 2 heck, 2 fricking/freaking, 1 pissed.

Bullying & Fighting; Someone writes for Sori to kill herself after she stands up for a classmate that was being bullied & is also then bullied with the girl (we see then soaked in water and the girl apologizing, which Sori says wasn’t her fault); Sori wonders if she shouldn’t have spoken up when bullying was happening because she didn’t have the strength to fully resolve things (also wondering if the students that were being bullied resent her); She thinks that it’s a relief when it doesn’t make things worse, but “if doing what you think is right only aggravates things then it might not have been the right thing to do in the first place.” But *Spoiler*

Underage smoking by bullies including one who also calls his mom an “old hag” and wants a classmate to lie to her about where he is; A group of students set a place on fire to get back at an adult that turned them in for smoking.

There’s an adult security officer at the school who is said to be a witch as well: A couple kids calling her that and shocked that Sori is in her “den”; A student later comments on betting that she grows her own tobacco; Hoyeon says she teaches him simple magic from time to time & another student thinks that maybe he does know something "like magic"; There’s a special place that Hoyeon says you can get to by drinking her tea; There’s a conversation about magic and miracles and how they take a lot of time; The woman is able to remove water from a soaked letter & the kids are amazed and call her a “bona fide witch”.

A bully comments that another boy has grow *something* to be able to stand up to him now; A bully makes an comment hinting to two guys being together (completely untrue as they were friends); A couple mentions of dating & a boy turns red at being asked if he's dating Sori.

I received an advance reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review via netgalley and the publishers.

Your Letter is a beautiful manga graphic novel about a girl who moves schools after sticking up for a fellow classmate who was being bullied. When she gets to her new school, she finds a letter hidden below her desk, which leads her on a scavenger hunt to find the next letters and work out who the writer is and why they wrote them. During her hunt, she meets a new friend, and their pasts end up linking together through the writer of the letters. This was such a cleverly weaved story with fantastic artwork and a heartfelt plot. The ending was beautiful and brought a tear to my eye. This book is just beautiful from start to finish, and I found the characters relatable and interesting and enjoyed seeing their maturity and growth as the story unfolded.

Now just to give people a gentle reminder, this isn't romance, it's more of a friendship based story and it is still a pretty nice quick read for 10 chapters. Although I will say that the ending had given my heart a "Omigosh this is just so warming" moment. Man I want people like Yeon and the rest of them to be my buds if I was back at school again lol.

I like the fact it deals with bullying because I'm sure many of us who have experienced bullying while in schools can relate to what Sori goes through.

Yeah read this 10 chapter manhwa folks on webtoon if you feel like a quickie read!

This was cute, fun, and a great story of friendship—both new and old. It was a little simplistic for me. I guess what I mean by that is that there were a few things I had a hard time following as the dialogue was slim, but eventually I was able to catch up to what I was reading. Lol. But overall this book was very sweet and worth the read!

For something that spans a mere ten episodes/chapters, this was surprisingly more wholesome and engaging than I expected it to be. I should give webcomics more credit considering how much I enjoyed Cho's.

An emotional roller-coaster that churns your heart with awe and despair, nostalgia and joy and a strange sort of longing that rarely gets talked about (because we're obsessed with romance). Not to trash romance, but I won't lie that it's exceedingly refreshing to see a story that takes a different turn.

All in all, I absolutely loved it. Thank you, Manveer, for such a wonderful recommendation.

This is pretty much just going to be one big gush of a review.

ALL. THE. FEELS.

I can't tell you the last time a manga had me almost in tears by the end of it, while smiling so hard my face felt like it was going to crack.

I am not spoiling a darn thing about this book other than to say the characters, the storyline, the connections, the artwork, THAT ENDING, ALL blew me AWAY.

5, this was ordered for my permanent library so I can re-read and hug to my chest every time I finish it, stars.

My thanks to NetGalley and Yen/Ize Press for an eARC copy of this book to read and review.

Sori-Lee a brave and kind middle schooler moves to new school in her old city from her grandmother's, after she stood up to bullies for someone, and facing bullying herself.

In her new school, assigned to an unoccupied desk, soon she finds a letter addressed to her; containing names of her new classmates, school map and a clue for next letter.

From one letter to another Sori moves into a world that she can't explain. There is a witch gardener in school who offers her tea. She walks seven and half steps with closed eyes and ends up finding a magical hideout. From ordering delicious food to school to jumping into the pond to retrieve the letter she ends becoming friends with Eugene Park. Eugene an archer is having a hard time concentrating on his sport. So they become partners to uncover the letters.

Each letter is just not words but a task ahead that helps Sori, and Eugene later or both just having a magical time together.

The story is sweet; it's about courage, it's about having faith and it's about the timelessness of friendship and about fragility of life.

They constantly face obstacles while looking for their letters, from the wet letter to the moment when another bully burns their letter, they never give into despair. They overcome the obstacles by wit and logical thinking and their believe in their pen-pal never weavers.

The art and storytelling of Your Letter is a like blissful marriage between Makoto Shinkai's narrative detailing and Miyazaki's magical adventure in the ordinary life. The beautiful transition from childhood to adolescence and the friendships triangle is so well balanced. There is no hint of 'love', but affection for each other and the art helps enhance the curiosity of the characters by ten folds.

Your Letter is only ten chapters long, and each chapter is bewitching. My personal favourite scenes were; Sori and Mrs. Kim have tea, Sori receives a thank you letter from, the jump into the pond was simply gorgeous!

This is a perfect story for people who crave Miyazaki and Shinaki stories on paper.

I read this once before when I first got Webtoon and again today because I needed something to make me cry. I adore this short comic and how emotional it made me. At first you think it’s a kind student in the school helping the new kid, but then a revelation happens which reveals the best plot twist I’ve experienced in years. I loved most of the minor characters just as much as the main ones.
While I understand why the author wanted this to be short, my heart just wishes this could’ve been longer; or even the first book in a series.

I don’t know how the author did it, but they did it.

Your Letter is a literal work of art. Though it was only ten episodes long, it has some of the most beautifully designed panels I’ve ever seen in a webcomic. Not only that, but the story is heartwarming. I know it was - it definitely warmed by stony heart, and that’s saying something. I’m basically Scrooge, so a story actually getting a reaction out of me is incredible.
