Rate this book
The action-packed saga continues as Sonic and crew zip around in search of fun, but find trouble instead! But don’t worry. No bad guy can keep Sonic from a good time.

Sonic can’t catch a break! Every time he tries to relax, some other danger shows up! A relaxing day at the beach? Not if the Babylon Rogues have anything to say about it! Chilling with his best buddy, Tails? Whether it’s a Chaos Emerald trapped in a mysterious cave or the return of the Warp Topaz, something’s going to get in his way! Good thing Sonic has lots of friends to help when he needs it: Amy, Jewel, the Diamond Cutters, and of course, the Restoration’s newest heroes, Surge and Kit!

Collects Sonic the Hedgehog issues #67–68, Sonic the Hedgehog’s 900th Adventure, the IDW Endless Summer one-shot, and the Halloween Special one-shot.

This is one of those 'everything but the kitchen sink' kinda trades, with a lot of one-shots bundled together with two spare issues of the main series before the book went on hiatus in favour of the Fang The Hunter mini-series instead.

The two issues of the actual series are fine, but they definitely feel more like they were playing for time rather than trying to set-up anything too big outside of the next arc with its big race theme.

The 900th special is a neat idea. I do like all these little specials that IDW have been putting out for the classic era characters, and I hope more of those get collected further down the line, probably when all the big ones are done. The Endless Summer and Halloween Specials are mostly just some fun little side stories with your favourite characters.

Inoffensive, but not exactly substantial.

The main story is really getting dragged out in these recent volumes. There are a lot of seasonal or annual issues (some of which are fantastic), but it causes these volumes of have very little of the main story in them. Overall a good read, but it left me wishing that IDW would focus less on standalone issues.

This was a fun collection of comics, mostly one-off stories. I liked that Sonic was actually in it a lot unlike a shocking percentage of this series.

I'll say again, though, if I was purchasing these instead of utilizing my library I would be aghast at the measly page count/number of issues IDW is selling for almost 20 bucks.

Love the tribute story! This feels like a little filler, but still enjoyable to read. ☺️
