I have been writing and storytelling ever since I was able to hold a pen. When I spent time working as a teacher with children of varying ages I was fascinated by the awesome power of words to excite and inspire the young mind. The art of Storytelling is what makes a good teacher great.

My degree in History with an emphasis on Ancient Near East, and my personal interest in world myths, combined with my fieldwork in archaeology have inspired my research and development of many elements in the story.
I also remember what it was like to be a girl myself and have often wanted to share my own thoughts, fears and dreams during that age with others. I read many books during my teenage years and some of them were essential in helping me make it through that time, and helping me become the satisfied person that I am today. I want to be able to return that favor to all the readers out there.

I don’t even know how to write this review. If I could give this book more then 10/10 Bloody Fangs, I would cause it’s that good! You have to read Pulse Genesis yourself just so I can talk to someone else about what I am feeling. I have loved this whole trilogy and with each book it just keeps getting better. I do recommend you start with Pulse of Heroes; I don’t want to spoil anything in the previous books in my review of Pulse Genesis.

Michelle can’t wait to become Mrs. Elliot De Costa but on the way to their honeymoon Michelle talks Elliot into letting her open one of the presents. The one she picks is not at all what she expected. It’s a heart shaped soap covered in blood with a cryptic letter. Not wanting to upset Elliot she keeps this from him and asks his sister Jessica to help her find the meaning behind it. But when it comes to light who's behind the gift and the meaning, can Michelle and Elliot’s love conquer one more battle?

As I said this is one of the hardest reviews I ever had to write, as I don’t want to give any spoilers away and ruin this book as so much happens in this book, so many things unfold that had me with my mouth hanging open cause I did not see it coming, plus never in all my years of reading has an author completely shattered my heart not just break it but shattered it. I am not a big crier when it comes to books, there have been some that made me cry, but nowhere to the extent of this book. So let me start off with what I loved about this book. When we first meet Michelle in Pulse of Heroes she is so naïve, but with each book and everything she is forced to go through, she grows up into a strong smart women. Each book I found myself routing for her, that everything will work out and she will get her happy ever after with Elliot. Now, for Elliot, I fell in love with him in Pulse of Heroes, then even more in Of Blood & Pulse. I honestly didn’t think I could love him anymore but in Pulse Genesis he proved me wrong in so many ways. He is just AMAZINGLY EPIC and to see him go through all the pain, and how he has to watch Michelle deal with heart ache on her own, when all he wants to do is to comfort her, is simply heart breaking. Personally, there is one scene where he's talking with Rion and we really get to see just how much his love for Michelle has changed him and made him into the kind of man we all wish we had in our lives. Now for Rion, I can’t even explain how much I have loved him in these books, but in this one he stole my heart almost as much as Elliot has.

I can’t really get into much about this book without spoiling it for you but what I can say is that AJ Sweeny is the only author who has shattered me heart and soul and put me through so much emotional turmoil that I honestly believed that nobody else could do this to me. I literally cried for two hours from one scene alone, something I have NEVER done in all the books I have read. Not only did I have to put the book down while I was breaking down completely, but after my meltdown I had to keep telling myself to breath as I was still crying from what was happening. I was on such an emotional roller-coaster that I needed days to write this review; to let it all sink in. And I had to give myself time to heal emotionally before I could pick up another book to read. But through everything I went through emotionally while reading this amazing book. I would do it all over again

Along with page-turning suspense, UNPREDICTABLE plot and heartbreaking moments. A J Sweeny has ended this series with a bang. The storyline is filled with so many twists and turns you certainly won't see them coming.


Pulse Genesis is equal parts heartbreaking as it is heart-warming. I don’t think I have ever felt so torn before after reading a book. I had the plot all worked out - my happily ever after envisaged and it never happened. I think I was expecting a predictable ending and that certainly never did. ** which is great ** but NOT ! lol.

Don’t get me wrong there was a wonderful Happily Ever After if you understand the storyline and thought process behind the story. With the Greek mythology entwined in this storyline you can certainly see that ray of sunshine for all. Every character got a HEA - if you can see it that way.

But me - being a reader, who had already predicted in her head what I wanted - never saw this coming. I was teary eyed, heartbroken and certainly gob smacked.

But also at times grinning like a Cheshire cat.

This story will fill you with many emotions, many thoughts and what if’s. Take your time when reading to absorb the inside of the story- the meaning behind the words and the mythology that Aj has so cleverly put through this story. It’s just amazing.

Also keep in mind you must read from book one to enjoy and understand the whole storyline.


A J certainly threw in a lot of twists, turns, suspense and with the Greek Mythology entwined within the storyline it made it food for thought.


A J Sweeny has truly crafted a unique, moving, and suspenseful and gripping story...you will not be able to put it down until every aspect, thought and emotion as been revealed. You will turn that last page, heart aching- brain in top gear but also wandering.... for hours after.

Pulse Genesis demonstrates that A J Sweeny is one of the best writers of mythology and romance. She beautifully captures the atmosphere of Greek Mythology, the characters - there emotions, the turmoil the love, the romance - she skilfully describes the big and small moments in the lives of all the characters in her story.

In this unforgettable novel, A J Sweeny paints an indelible picture. We see all the highs and lows of being immortal and human and being in love. She has certainly given this story a lot of thought and time and research.

This by far is a book I will remember for a long time...



ps.. Elliot was intense and passionate as always... I so love his character!

OMG! Where to begin? This last installment is so brilliantly written, with so much passion, you can feel the scenes within. Some made me sob right along with these beautiful characters, wanting to throw my Kindle or phone across the room, others made me chuckle, while still others left me with my mouth agape asking myself, "What the heck just happened?"

This is a YA Crossover Series.. It starts in Book 1, Pulse of Heroes with Michelle being 17 and now she an adult. This installment is spellbinding, with an emotionally charged intensity , jam packed with astonishing adventure, tragedy, Love, and is filled with Our Oh-So-Hot-Drop-Dead-Gorgeous Heroes. A. Jacob Sweeny has truly blown me completely away with Pulse Genisis.
Just when I thought I had it figured out, it would twist and turn me in a completely different direction. LOVE THE SUSPENSEFUL MYSTERY!

I have been following this series since it came out and it is ONE OF MY FAVORITES OF ALL TIME!!

Loved it! Bittersweet feeling as I finished the book knowing it was the last in the trilogy and was time to say goodbye to Michelle and Elliot - emotional roller-coaster with an unpredictable ending I did not expect. I can not recommend the Pulse series enough. If you have not read any of The Pulse Myths books (or novellas) they are well worth the read!

Wowza

I give this 5 stars. The entire book was good. The ending made me legitimately cry and the I was so happy for Michelle. I didn't see that coming. Amazing!

I loved this series and was so excited when this book came out. Like the other books, this one is very well written and well researched. There was one part I did not really think fit with the lore, but I am pretty darn nit picky about stuff like that, so I am sure it was just me. I will say, however, that this book is unlike the other books in this series. I have seen them referred to as Mature YA and I think that description fits well. This book, however, I see as more of an adult book. I could possibly agree with NA, but the themes have me leaning towards adult. Without getting too spoilery, it is not sex and violence that makes me say this. It is the underlying themes. They were emotionally poignant and very intense and adult in nature. If you are an adult fan of this series, you definitley will want to see where the story goes.

This series does not end with an HEA and explores depression, miscarriage, and grief. It gave me nightmares for a week and while that is a sign of excellent emotionally packed writing, it also tells me that this book may not be for everyone.

Aaaaaaargh.....It's so difficult to express how AWESOME this book is in words without giving away spoilers. Just know that it IS! Yep it's that good!!
This series has been one of my absolute favorites out of all the books that I have read. These characters & this story are forever a part of me. I highly recommend it to all of my paranormal, romance, & history lovers!!!
I have now read all of the Pulse series including the novellas of the guys past lives, & I can honestly tell you I am sad that there is not another one for me to download right this moment to continue on. After reading them in ebook format I immediately knew I needed them in print. I am happy happy happy to have my signed copies of the Pulse of Heroes 1 & 2 as well as Pulse Genesis to enjoy again & again! Now I just hope to convince AJ that we definitely need more of our lovely immortals & their families! I simply can't get enough, & I refuse to say goodbye!
That being said the ending was not what I expected at all & I must agree that some issues that arise in this book are not for everyone. If you are not a fan of emotional books then this may turn you or break you, but the best stories do that in many cases.

I liked this book but I have to admit that I loved the 2 other books more. In the beginning I was really frustrated with Michelle but Elliot and the other personages made up for that. Elliot is so kind and swoon worthy, I really loved him for everything he did. What happened to him made me cry.

I have to admit that I liked the ending. I’m not gonna tell more because that would spoil the twists and turns in this book.

I really liked this series and recommend it to everyone who loves a good paranormal romance with swoon worthy and historical facts. It’s different than all the other books I have read.
