I would pick authors and read everything they have ever written before moving on to others, Stephen King, H.G. Wells etc..
I have been lightly writing for many years starting in High School but didn't take it, or my life seriously until I received my first child and said to myself, "We gotta stop messing around and accomplish something."
I take writing seriously and strive to make it awesome, I hope my writing reflects that and that you agree that, "Yes", his writing really is awesome!
