Lily's Story #2

Full Circle

Rate this book
Admittedly, misery is a somewhat extreme dieting technique, and everything I read assures me I am likely to puff up like a blood-bloated tick the second I start eating normally again, but hey, I’m willing to take my pleasure where I can find it.

Still emotionally reeling from the cluster bomb fate decided to throw at her love life, Lily is finally shown a lifeline when her book is accepted for publication.
Cast into an unfamiliar world following the novel’s success, Lily knows she has almost everything she could ever want – except love.

Why can’t I move on, Annie?

Still haunted by dreams of her abusive husband and her dishonest lover, Lily longs to move forward and learn to love and trust again, but karma still has some surprises in store.

Karma’s a bitch, and you can expect at some point she will come back to bite you.

As her old life blends with new, Lily faces yet more choices in her quest to find her happy-ever-after.

Full Circle concludes Lily's Story, which started in What goes around comes around, and is recommended for readers aged 18+

Lily Lambert paid for her mistakes in Book 1, some in more tragic ways than others. In this second book she finally starts to get the good that she deserves.

After being devastated Lily decides to write the book she’s always wanted to write now that she is free of the chains her marriage and lost the other man she thought was her soul mate. That book ends up being a best seller and starts her on a new journey that takes her places she never imagined but she is still hurting over the love she had for a man who lied to her but yet still holds her heart. With the huge success of the first book and everyone awaiting the second the book get picked to be made into a major motion picture which moves the story from the UK to the USA for a big chunk of the book when Lily is asked to co-write with the screenplay writer for the film. The author does a great job of showing us the good and bad of Hollywood.

As with the first book the secondary characters shine brightly in this book. Lily’s two best friends are the type every woman wishes they had. They have supported her whole heartedly through thick and thin.

The author makes you feel through the words written. You not only feel all the pain Lily goes through but also those of the secondary characters and of James once he comes back into Lily’s life halfway through this book. You also as a mother ache for her over the emotional distance that was put between her and her children due to the circumstances from the first book. It was so rewarding to see her two boys finally see what their father really was and to come to realize their mother had been a victim for 19 years.

The whole journey through this book you FEEL. You feel Lily’s pain and happiness at her success and her love for her friends who stand by her and you feel for the new man introduced into her life who is a good man but one Lily cannot feel anything for because of the one she is still in love with. Once all of the characters converge when James comes back into Lily’s life and we finally get to find out what really happened at the end of the first book their common love for Lily was so heartfelt you were rooting for that happy ending.

There is a happy ending at the end of this book. There are some more suspenseful things that happen before we get that but after the devastation of the first book we the reader are finally rewarded with what I think is a very satisfying ending.

This would have been a much better story if it weren't so coincidental and predictable. Her clumsiness got old in the first book and got considerably worse in this one. It also ended a little too unbelievably perfect for every character.

I liked the idea of the story. Great concept. It was funny at times which is why it received 3 stars instead of 2.

This is not a stand alone book... you must begin with book one... What Goes Around Comes Around!
If you are a fan of stories that revolve around mature/older women then this little duet is a good choice. I love the character of Lily. She is clumsy, witty, endearing and the kind of character that I find easy to connect with.
I was already invested in this story after book one (which I personally loved) and I just had to see how things turned out for her after the emotional and painful events that occurred in the first installment. Book two is a little more upbeat as Lily finally gets her big break as an author and begins the arduous task of picking up the pieces of her shattered love life and tries to move forward. She spends a lot of time crossing over to the good ole' USA to promote her book which is being made into a movie. Lily trying to fit in to the LA scene was very amusing. She also meets an attractive screen writer named Tony who is drawn to her unique personality. A chance for her to find love again??? hhmmmm... maybe...
There were some really funny moments in this book... my favorite being the moment she meets the real Rob Lowe. I was literally laughing out loud at her reaction to seeing him. And, I think ole' Rob was a bit confused as well. I gotta' be honest... that one scene made the book for me... loved! It brought me back to my own "I heart Rob Lowe" days... :)
A long list of wonderful supporting characters makes this story even more enjoyable... from the British maid in America with her hidden tea stash to the loving and devoted friends she has back home. They were an added bonus to this story overall. EXCEPT I was disappointed that they were drinking Tetley Tea and not Yorkshire Tea. This little American gal is a Yorkshire tea fanatic! Sorry... just had to get that in there... :)
I would love to see this author tackle more romantic humor type novels... she has a talent for it for sure.
There were a few events at the end that I felt were a bit rushed and I think I would've liked a little more fight from Tony... but aside from that I really enjoyed Lily's journey as a whole. I think that this is an author to keep an eye on. I would happily read more of her work. This book completes Lily's story but there is room for it to grow if she wanted it too. Perhaps we will see more again some day.
This series it titled well... "What Goes Around Comes Around" rings true for many of the characters and yes.. Lily does come "Full Circle".

I received an ARC from the author in exchange for a review

Oh god no :( this book ended. Totally crestfallen.
It is a must read, it is as gripping as "what goes around comes around" if not more.

Lily becomes successful with her books and can live the life she has always dreamed even if the spotlight isn't great.
Her life is just a dream only problem is she can not move on from James. She meets a wonderful man but she still can't find it in her to feel anything for anyone again. I was begging her to fall for him but the turn of events for her love life amazes me and made me so happy for her.
A part in the book she has to be around Greg again much to her horror but what happens in his life is great and he gets the "what goes around comes around" thrown back in his face and it is amazing.
I became apart of her life in this story, it's written so well that you want to be there be apart of what Is going on.
I urge you to read both "what goes around comes around" and this one "full circle"
Fantastic read.
Mrs O.C.Shaw I thank you so much for bringing this wonderful inspirational story into my life.

If its possible I think this is better than the 1st book.
I loved Lilly and all of her friends, they were all lovely. Ethan and Adam are great and I am glad they stick by their mum I also loved the relationship that grew between James and Tony.
Again this is an emotional read but also very funny with the certain things that are said between some of the characters.
Well done O.C.Shaw for such a lovely story.

I loved how Lily is discovers that she is strong and can be her own person. She is more than a wife or mother. She is Lily.

I had so many of my own hangups about the subject matter but it was all for naught. Shaw did a great job showing how a cheating spouse can tear a family to bits. I was so worried that it was just going to glossed over, but it wasn't.

But the most important take away from this series is be your own woman.

This is a must read ... and maybe even a reread!

Really enjoyed this second book. I laughed I cried, it was an emotional roller coaster. For anyone of a certain age who is fed up of books that are all about young love. You will love both this book and the first book in Lily's story. Don't want to give too much away but these books are fabulous.

Well the first book was better. This one dragged and then also felt rushed. I didn't like the flow. Lily was getting annoying with her never ending drama. I will still like to read more from this author I think she has potential!

SPOILER ALERT: if you have not read Book #1 What Goes Around Comes Around do not read this review. I will be referencing back to the first story as this is NOT a stand alone novel.

**********************************************************************

hmm… How can I put this? I was kind of disappointed. The story was great the ending phenomenal and I felt completed after reading this BUT I have a few complaints. James is whiny and presumptuous. I mean come on man YOU LIED about having a wife AND you never defended Lily when that harpie came in trash talked her and then kicked her out the house. YOU messed up and let her go. In my opinion you don’t get to act like a possessive man child and be jealous of Tony. Speaking of poor Tony, I loved him and I’m kind of mad that Tony experienced the whole “nice guys finish last thing” *sighs* I’m glad Lily found her happy ending and stood up for herself and became stronger – frankly to me she was always that way it just took time BUT Tony was perfect. Amazing. Wonderful….I may have a crush on him.

Moving on… Lily! has done well for herself in the face of many tragedies. She is an amazing writer and has come into her own money, and body. She is traipsing across the globe on numerous book tours and then BAM! things literally change gears and she’s thrust into the proverbial Lions den. :\ I don’t want to talk to much about it because I will spoil the story. Things get crazy for Lily’s career, She ends up face to face with the douche bag Greg for the first time since the rape, and then she’s face to face with Amanda Lattimer as well! Lily get’s closer to her sons in one fell swoop, inadvertently knocks up poor Emma, Annie goes through a shit storm of drama in her relationship and then finally a happily ever after. Lily finds herself in the middle of a HUGE dangerous scandal, which if you know Lily it’s not unusual. CRESCENDO!!! CRESCENDO!!! — I can’t talk about what happened on the crescendo there because it would spoil this novel for you. SO instead CRESCENDO!!! Hey did I mention Bitch face is the reason half the issues were raised in the first place and thank god she removed her claws out of Ethan. uhhhhhhh so the end of the book… -_- Everyone lives happily ever after. SOMEONE READ THE BOOK SO I CAN PROPERLY TALK ABOUT THIS!!!

I am all for Love prevailing in the end but I just think that he should have been dragged through some broken glass and then his feet held to the fire before Lily even considered anything. *shrugs* that probably makes me a huge bitch but I’m OK with that. Oh yea Lily finally reports the rape :) it was like a cherry on top after everything.

Overall, I was happy to see how things worked out. I wished they had played out a bit different but hey it’s not my story. It pleased me to finish it but it didn’t exactly stop my heart by ending.

WOW! The second book was as good as the first. Seriously, I could not put it down - read it in a day. Elements I wanted dealt with from the first book we all dealt with really well, so it felt like closure. I loved the friendships described and this was one of those rare books that actually made me laugh out loud. Excellent, and a refreshing change from the younger heroines
