It’s soooo many moving parts to this book & series. Everybody is connecting to someone & people were not to be trusted. The suspense & thriller aspects I loveddddd! I was on the edge of my seat tryna figure out where TA was going with the story.
Julez 💔🥺
Jordan my sweet girl. Did y’all catch her little secret she had. I was like oop! Lol That was her little get back.
Everybody else Noelle, Slim, Kira, April 😡 TRASH people. I know the burning in h£!!‼️
The end of this story was like a crossover of Thicker Than Water. Also Jordan makes a cameo on Seasons of Fidelity series. I think the last book.
Man! What a whirlwind! The taste for revenge is so potent, it enters your mouth and drops on your palette burning with fire 🔥! This series was intense but I loved every moment of it! I’m so glad the snakes got what they deserved at the end but I’m also saddened. I won’t give away any spoilers, but you HAVE to read it to understand what I mean! Bravo 👏🏾 looking forward to reading more by this author! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This series really took me through it. There were so many secrets, lies. Just a tangled web of mess. The drama went on all the way to the bitter end. Karma came back around for everyone but I can’t help but feel sorry for Jordin at the end of all this. I was hoping for a HEA but Takerra had other plans. I’m just really baffled at how Julez and Duval were supposed to be so powerful and resourceful but they couldn’t get a handle on Slim. He was like Jason - he just kept coming back! Noelle tried to do the “right” thing in the end but of course..you can’t get off so easily. Every character was connected in some way and you can’t trust anyone.
One of my main gripes was what happened with Jackie. Why?? How did Slim even know about her? Pissy tail self 🙄
This series was the hood soap opera I never knew I needed!
After a near fatal shooting, Jordan and Julez attempt to move on with their lives as a happy family with their exes finally out of the picture but Julez’ can’t find peace until he gets revenge on the man who almost took Jordan away from him. Slim, Noelle AND Julez all lost their minds in this one. The ending was so bittersweet, I went from relieved to heartbroken in a matter of seconds 😩 This definitely deserves to be a movie or limited tv series.
As if I could be more impressed with this author she creates another story that has drama from the beginning to the end. I was an emotional wreck but I made it to the end.
4.5⭐️ Messy AF! Characters delusional AF! Everybody got on my nerves! This series took me through it. Lies. Secrets. & more secrets. This is a soap opera for real! Everybody got what they deserved but that ending. Takerra I ain’t like that!!!!!
Well, damn if I thought Restricted was messy, Restricted TOO was even messier. The twists and the turns, the lies and the deceit - all of it had me on the edge of my seat with each chapter I read. Everyone in this damn book had me ready to pull my edges out, and I don’t even really have any right now.
I don’t want to say how and where book 2 picks up at, but if you read book 1 then you know what we are dealing with when it comes to Noelle, Slim, Juelz, and Jordin.
Let’s discuss the characters:
Noelle - Girl, it’s f*ck you until the end of the world. Noelle was the most insufferable and low life FMC that I have ever read before. Everything that happened to her was rightfully deserved, in my opinion.
Slim - To be that envious and jealous and still end up with the bad of the stick is crazy work. All of that, and you still ended up be the lesser man. You reap what you sow, n*gga!
Side note: Duval and Juelz, y’all had ONE JOB! ONE JOB and y’all couldn’t do that correctly, huh?
Juelz - Something about a man that’s about his business and his family just makes me weak! Now I understand why Juelz is at the top of the girls list of the girls favorite TA men.
Jordin - My girl! Everyone in this book kept dogging my girl and I was so over it because I was tired of Jordin not standing up for herself at certain points. Instead of folding and jumping on Juelz’s peen, I needed her to stand on business! Everybody has her f*cked up. I was happy when Jordin finally put Slim in her place though, but still, even that was too late.
If you read Seaons of Fidelity then you know Jordin was in that series so now everything that happens with her character in that series makes sense.
Also, Duval and Jackie were really meant for each other. I loved them sooo much!
In true TA fashion, there is no traditional happily ever after and to say that I am sad about this ending is an understatement. Juelz and Jordin … my heart.
But I’m excited to read more about what transpires with Duval and his new found information. Might have to start reading about Respect and Tatum.
Even though this is baby Takerra Allen and her early writing, the Restricted series is good! I would definitely put this series as one of my favorite series to have read, honestly.
The ending was heartbreaking! I can’t believe Julez died! Omg! I was hoping he would have a happily ever after with Jordin! Wow! I’m still speechless...
This chaotic soap opera is back with a slew of restrictions. Fresh off of a near fatal shooting, Jordin is trying to piece her precious life back together. The ruggedly, handsome Julez has one foot in the streets and another out trying to give his family the peace they desire and just as importantly, giving him back his 'piece' of mind. This thrist for vengence will only be quenched when Jordin's ex, Slim is no longer in existence. Slim along with the conniving Noelle in tow have the same idea. In this cat and mouse play, all bets are off and it's a free for all. When restrictions are no longer in place, all hell breaks completely loose.
Inhale...exhale....breathe.
I literally had to tell myself breathe at the end of this titillating tale that left my mind boggled..confused. Restricted Too was everything I hoped it would be and more. There was suspense that left me literally breathless, drama that had my head spinning, and no predictability to the fact you just was lost in the sauce. The character interaction was everything and made you feel as if they were real. You shared their laughs, tears, losses and triumphs. The character development on the other hand was engrossing and left me wondering..'wow who is that?' From chapter to chapter, you found not one filler; the frivolous words concoted to add to word count. It was thought-provoking work from the author and you could literally see a masterpiece unfolding in front of your eyes.
From the first quote of chapter one I was drawn in as if it cast some spell over me. I started this book the day after it came out..it took me 3 days to finish because I didn't want it to end; it was like sipping the best hot chocolate on the coldest day ever. You just want it to continue to keep you and warm you til the end. And what an end it was. I felt so many emotions reading this book and I actually laughed..and cried in earnest. I don't think there are many books that have done that to me as a reader. I must say that there are very few writers these days that could wrap up such a story in two books and ...even for that matter, write a series period. The author has a special talent in this area and it shows from the first quote to the very last word written. This is the longest review have written in a while but I just had to express how this book made me feel, smh. Takerra Allen, you told me all you wanted to do was entertain me (the reader). Well, kudos! You have done that..and then some.
Jordin and Juelz are back as a family unit, trying to recover from the incident that almost took Jordin's life.Noelle and Slim are in hiding waiting to see if their plan to eliminate their exes was executed properly. Both couples want revenge on each other, but there can only be one outcome, After the storm,Who will be left standing?
This book will take you on a wild and crazy ride, with nothing but drama. The twist and turns are jaw dropping. Takerra once again spins a tale of treachery and deceit that leaves you gasping for air. From the beginning to the end it's action packed with a little humor thrown in to balance everything out.Although one chapter is closing another one is just beginning and I can't wait to read how everything unfolds.Whose side will you choose?
Takerra has never written anything less than a 5 star and she didn't hold back with this one,her consistency with writing good books have me anticipating what's next from this great author.I would definitely recommend any of her work because she never disappoints.Another great job Takerra.
Juelz and Jordin are back, and they are hotter than ever! Focused on raising their daughter, Jewel and recuperating from being shot, Jordin is dealing with the loss of her best friend and possibly connecting with a few new ones. Unfortunately, she must watch her back, because nobody can be trusted.
Juelz has one mission in this book, and that’s to find Slim and make him pay for the things he did in book 1...all while keeping his family safe. It actually brings out a side of him that he’s known for in the streets for...and there’s bloodshed everywhere!
All hell breaks loose when the past comes to haunt this couple. Treachery, deceit, drama, and scandal are all front and center in this 💎💎💎💎💎book. Once again, @bytakerraallen has proven why she is this industry’s “most underrated female author!”
As always in Takerra's books she let's lose and lays down a great story line that makes you develop strong emotions towards her characters. She has your mind thinking and heart racing as you flip through the pages as the story unfolds. Wrapped up in the end, she ties her other characters in. I love all of her work and certainly recommend any of her books to someone that wants a really good page turner.
I want More More More Author Takerra Alen. When do I get more of this juicy story. I wish things ended better but I guess not. Julez and Jordin and to go through so much for the love that they want to share. Love shouldn't be hard or stressful but theirs were. Why did the story have to end. You did your thing excellent job. Looking forward for more from you. 10 stars
RESTRICTED/RESTRICTED TOO: a Takerra Allen classic. There are some triggers and I must warn you—this is real, raw URBAN lit and BODIES are dropping in this 2-part series. Felt like an episode of (the original) Power and i was INNITTTT, okay?!
Jules Payne, a well-respected G in his city has traded in his guns for a briefcase, kissing the street life goodbye. He’s got it all—the house, the beautiful wife, the successful business…but a small favor for his wife’s best friend opens Pandora’s box that unravels ties of lies, deceit, and jealousy…leading Jules to deal with his life’s LARGEST ultimatum: Kill or Be Killed.
I think this story should go in the urban lit hall of fame as it has ALL of the elements that makes this genre what it is. Written to supreme perfection as only TA can, the story literally LIFTS off the page and reels you from beginning to end. It’s sultry, it’s grimy, it’s emotion-provoking..ALL of the things. This was written over 10 years ago—i still have the feels as if she JUST dropped this in 2025. She left NO detail out, and I was not prepared for THAT ending; well, yes I was. It’s Takerra, lol.
When a story leaves me speechless and mind-blown…the author has done what he or she sat out to do. If you are familiar with TA’s pen, you know she doesn’t write stories, she writes experiences. @bytakerraallen you’re one of NONE, but you know that already! Standing Ovation, again!!!
Before I begin, there will be a spoiler so stop right here if you haven’t read this book. This urban thriller was everything and so much more. After surviving the deceit of book one and near death of Jordin, all is right in the world after Juelz & Jordin find happiness with each other and their new bundle of joy. But it’s short-lived because of the vengeful and hateful ploys of Slim, Noelle, Driis, and Kira. While we just wanted Juelz and Jordin to live...others wanted their love and then to die. Emotions ran deep and high as I was whisked away into the love connection of Juelz and Jordin and even Duval and Jackie. Even the betrayal of Juelz couldn’t permanently rock this relationship and as a reader, I just didn’t want it too. Juelz and Jordin’s love was so timeless that it only made sense that they would be together. The simplicity in the words “I promise” were so potent and powerful that I couldn’t help but remain Team Juelz. That’s why losing my book bae in the end stung so deeply. Since it’s an urban soap opera, I sure hope the author resurrects him because he is one character that it would be hard to live without!
This was an AMAING BOOK & I definitely fell in a rabbit hole and didn’t want to turn around!!!…All the loss in this book has me in my feelings and I hope there is more to this ending!!!… I need to know what happened to Jordin and Jewelz & if they made it to California!!!…My heart broke for on that patio!!!…Did they get married or not because, after all this, she is left alone with memories!!!… This book was an emotional one and I was cheering for Julez and Jordon, because after all they endured, they deserved their happily ever after!!!… I was sooo disappointed that Slim was able to get away with soooo much destruction before his demise!!!…He should have put put all that energy he had trying to destroy Jordin and Julez, he could have been building some success for himself!!!… I was only happy that Noelle told Julez what was happening, but she got everything she deserved!!!… She had the man she couldn’t let go of, but wanted to hold onto the one she played on!!!… I need Duval to make some things shake because he lost a lot!!!…
This was truly a good story and even better series. Part one exceeded my expectations which leads me to believe that Duvall was a waste of power. The amount of money, power and prestige this ruthless boss had , Juelz should have always been a step ahead of slim. The ending just throws the entire story into another dimension for me, like what was the purpose of fighting for love to lose it All and a nameless faceless family member step in with no connection to the original characters. In my readers opinion Slim should have never made it out of prison this last time. And Kira, we all knew she was butt hurt but nothing was done to get at her. Too much energy in this book was wasted on catching Slim and he still got what he wanted, for them Not too be happy. Four stars for the entire series but this played out too long for absolutely no reason. Duvall basically got his whole family killed and poor Jackie got nothing out of meeting him.
The drama didn't end in the second installment of the Restricted series.
Without giving away too much, things just didn't end the way I thought it would and I'm saying that Duval leaves me loving and hating him.
Julez and Jordin had their set of issues but I did want to see them living and thriving, together. He tried so hard to make things right and his trying was not missed, however, Jordin was also not who I thought she was. Did she really win? I'm still thinking on that.
Noelle and Slim were messed up from the get-go so I would have liked the histories of this relationship and of Julez/Jordin. In the end though, it was a hard slap for me that they caused so much hell to rise up. They deserved it right back and I say they got it tenfold.
Now with the closing of the book, Duval is front and center. I'm not exactly sure where this takes me but I wanna go.
Why on earth would the book end without following up on the MAIN character? It was like Jordan never actually mattered throughout the whole series. As the reader, I was way more invested in her than the uncle, the new sister, Tatum or Respect. Why introduce 3 people when the main character has no resolution other than being “safe”? Im giving it 3 stars because the rest of the book was gripping and you didn’t know what was going to happen. Im just so disappointed that book ended with another potential story without closing this one off. Im also confused again about the cover of this book. It’s misleading in my opinion. Can’t judge a book by its cover, but loads of people decide if they want to read it based on the image. The image just doesn’t match AT ALL.
I can never rate a Takerra Allen book below 5 stars because of the emotions she evokes—whether good, bad, or in-between. Julez and Jordin’s relationship wasn’t an easy read; it felt like they were constantly battling the bad, making the sweet moments even more precious. Jordin might just be my favorite TA character. The book is full of terrible characters with their own POVs, and despite my frustration, TA’s writing keeps you hooked. Lies, mistrust, deceit, and revenge run deep, but this is how you end a series!
I loved this series. I was glad to see that mad man Slim get his karma. I was surprised that Kira was part of his crazy plan. That threw me. Her and Jules did not have a relationship. She was delusional. I was disappointed that Jules was killed. I was seriously wishing for him and Jordin's happily ever after. I loved Julez character. I would definitely recommend reading this book and the first one.
I adored part 1 and I liked part 2 as well... until I got to the ending. What in the world? I understand that not all stories end in fairytales but this went a little overboard and was all over the place. Then you finish the story without letting us know how Jordin was handling the tragedy that happened. Like I didn’t give a da*n about the uncle lol. I’m just pissed. Ending’s make a story imo and this just ruined it for me smh
While I appreciate drama, this came with way too much for men who we’re supposedly heavy in the game. Juelz and Duval were outsmarted by low level, druggies and bitter women who didn’t have the money or connections they did. It all made no sense. Even the killing of Jackie. Once you’re messing with men like Duval, eyes she be on his girl. I love Takerra!s work but a lot of events were illogical and for no one to get a HEA made this read frustrating.
This book was good it was a page turner. This book had a lot of drama twist and turns it dragged at certain parts in the book. The book bae was definitely Julez he was a very sweet guy but had a very mean streak within himself. I didn’t really like the ending but all books won’t end how you want them too. Great read all in all
Wish I would've gotten a happy ending or at least a 3rd part. And I am not a person big on long, drawn out series and ppl just doing sequels for the hell of it. But these 2 books were really good. I loved Jordin's growth from book 1 to book 2. I loved Juelz PERIOD!!!! I loved Duval. I loved Duval and Jackie's storyline. But Noelle, Slim, Kira & April 😡😡😡 bruh! I could punch them all!
This book here took me for a spin ride . The ride was crazy you dont see half the stuff was coming at you as you read this book I'm going part 2 is WILD from page one to the last page. When you get this book to read ,make sure you got 2-3 days off cause you wont put it down .cause you are going to want to know what is going to happen every second.
I thought the story was actually really good part one was amazing. Part two was good up until the end ending. I felt like there were too many characters after Jordan and Jules by that point. I would’ve been happy with a happily ever after ending honestly but it was a good read.
I was a little disappointed in book two. Julez died by the hands of Kira?!! Really? You would think after all the drama with Slim and Noelle they would have a happy ending. I don't know it was just OK for me.
