Completing his time with the SAS, Martin Stonesfield is approached by a shadowy government agency and joins New Ventures Energy, a London based Oil & Gas exploration company and front for the discrete, ‘off the books’ operations worldwide that even MI6 or the SAS can't risk being involved in. The action is relentless and Stonesfield is immediately sent to the Middle East to hunt down those responsible for killing his predecessor. Returning to the UK he is sent with a covert team to Crimea, parachuting into the Black Sea at night to join a submarine to extract an ejected RAF pilot secretly seconded to the Ukrainian Air Force. With a major storm approaching across the Black Sea, a British pilot on the run and a Russian patrol almost on top of them, the team have to make life and death decisions to survive.Fighting memories of an abusive father and violent upbringing in Yorkshire, when his girlfriend is killed by a crime syndicate, Stonesfield embarks on a brutal campaign of revenge, and he tracks the man responsible to a remote Welsh farmhouse.

Decent story in desperate need of an editor

Good story, decent pacing and really great technical knowledge of military operations - sadly let down by almost continuous spelling and grammatical errors and often garbled sentence structure. A good editor could have made this more of a pleasure to read.
