NASCAR driver Justin Murphy is content to go through life flying by the seat of his pants. Why bother with commitment - to racing, his girlfriend, or even living responsibly - when he can just have fun and occasionally finish in the top ten? But when an irate fan injures Justin, nurse Sophia Grosso makes him forget all about family obligations, his former love and even partying hard.... But any thoughts of a happily-ever-after are quickly extinguished by a reminder of the decades-long grudge between the Grossos and Murphys. Justin and Sophia come from families intent on tearing them apart. They whisper things that hurt. Secrets meant to drive a wedge between the lovers...for good.
Can Justin afford to ignore the misdeeds of the past...and marry the enemy's daughter?

This is NASCAR's version of Romeo and Juliet. Sophia Grosso has always been told to hate the Murphy family. Jason Murphy has never been in a successful relationship and definitely doesn't want to try one with the woman who’s relatives may have killed not only his great uncle but possibly his father too.
It was a well written and entertaining story that left me wanting to know more. I would definitely try another romance by this author. You don't have to be a fan of auto racing to enjoy this contemporary romance.
Forbidden Attraction by Marisa Carroll Harlequin NASCAR Series Library Secrets And Legends Book 2 Sophia Grosso puts her nursing skills to work after Justin Murphy gets hurt trying to help her out. Her family always tried to tell her she was suppose to hate the Murphy’s but she can’t seem to do that. If she chooses to even be friends with Justin, her choice will take her family away from her. And what no one really knows is that Sophia is a coward.
Justin Murphy was afraid he might be like the father he never knew, not relationship material. Especially when it comes to a relationship with the woman who’s relatives may have killed not only his great uncle but his father as well. Tell his heart that though.
The story continues where In High Gear left off. They still don’t know who is responsible for the deaths of two Murphy’s and feud is still alive and strong. Sophia and Justin are up against a hate that has been building for over fifty years. Other characters introduced in this story will have their own tales told in future books. The next book introduces one of the Branch daughters in Truth and Consequences. There are sixteen books in all for this part of the Harlequin NASCAR series. http://justjudysjumbles.blogspot.com/...
Two of the biggest moments of conflict in the book (the hero and heroine each dumping the other) take place offscreen and we're told about them after the fact. We also skip the races he wins, and we're told about them having sex after a scene that was in no way a leadup to sex. If this wasn't a library book, I would have thrown it against the wall.

I really enjoyed this installment of the Harlequin NASCAR series. It's like Romeo & Juliet for NASCAR. Two families torn apart by suspicions and accusations older than the main characters. And not everything is wrapped up neatly in the end, which I like.

This was my first Nascar book I read and after reading most of the Harlequin Nascar series books this remains my fave besides the Pamela Britton series.
