MacFarland Ranch #7

The Cowboy’s Intriguing Love

Rate this book
The Cowboy’s Intriguing Love is the seventh book in the MacFarland Ranch series. This is Tyler and Shayna’s story.

Most of his brothers have met amazing women and settled down – and Ty’s open to the possibility of doing the same. He’s not sure that the online dating profile that Nessa set up for him is the way to get there, though.

In fact, he plans to take the profile down just as soon as he can. Until he receives a message from a hot blonde in California …

Shayna’s lived in Summer Lake her whole life. She doesn’t expect that online dating will lead to her finding the man of her dreams, but she’s already dipped a toe, or two, in the dating pool at the lake – and it could use a good shot of chlorine.

When a well-meaning friend sends a message from her account to a hot cowboy in Montana, things might be looking up.

Exchanging messages with Ty is great, but is it crazy to think that they might get together in the real world?

She doesn’t know it, but there’s already someone who believes that she’s the one for him – and he doesn’t intend to let her go easily.

Hi, I'm SJ. A coffee addict, lover of chocolate and drinker of good red wines. I'm a lost soul and a hopeless romantic. Reading and writing are necessary parts of who I am. Though perhaps not as necessary as coffee! I can drink coffee without writing, but I can't write without coffee.

I grew up loving romance novels, my first boyfriends were book boyfriends, but life intervened, as it tends to do, and I wandered down the paths of non fiction for many years. My life changed completely a couple of years ago and I returned to Romance to find my escape.

I write 'Sweet N Steamy' stories because to me there is enough angst and darkness in real life. My favorite romances are happy escapes with a focus on fun, friendships and happily-ever-afters, just like the ones I write.

These days I live in beautiful Montana, the last best place. If I'm not reading or writing you'll find me just down the road in the park - Yellowstone. I have deer, eagles and the occasional bear for company, and I like it that way :0)

Ty McFarland was so great! He was a little reluctant to answer any of the messages he received on a dating up a friend set up for him. But there was one that intrigued him, and he was so lucky to have messaged her back. I loved that Shayna who was in Summer Lake had a friend message him without her knowing. It was so cute how the two talked by messages, then email, then finally talked. It was exciting watching the two when they first met each other. It was such a small world as Ty had friends in Summer Lake, his brother’s had friends in Summer Lake, and it felt like the two were meant for each other. Shayna had a sad story about growing up, found good people in Summer Lake who loved her like family, and was such a hard worker. There was a stalker after Shayna that had me on the edge of my seat at times. I loved how everyone looked out for her. There were also so many people I met in past books that I was glad to catch up. This is a great story that I strongly encourage you to read.

Newest MacFarland installment and as always SJ never disappoints. I liked the whole text/email style writing of the initial contact. It's something I could see myself doing. I also love the way the rest of the family and characters we have previously met (if you haven't read the previous books, you really should) and blend them into the story. Read well into the night as I couldn't put it down. I really need Tanners story please :)

What a great story! This was a nice combination of Summer Lake and the Montana McFarland’s. I love how the relationship builds from online dating to meeting up in Salt Lake City. The intrigue of the stalker situation adds another layer to an already great story. Always nice to catch up with everyone! Well done S.J.!

Another great book to a great series. I love Tyler and Shayna's story, the messaging between them was great and they were willing to make long distance work, but fate stepped in an unfortunate situation.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐, since 5 stars is not enough.

I loved this book from the beginning to the end and still wanted more. These two are both trying to find ‘the one’ and have gotten involved on a dating website. Who knew that between April and her detective skills that she would have found Tyler from MT in the list of options on the dating website for Shayna. It was also a small world when you look at all the connections these two have. We have Chance, Alexis, Xander and so many more. Their chats as part of the book were great and it was nice to see them going from Tyler and Shayna to Ty and Shay as they learned more about each other. Through another twist of fate, they decided to meet but not where you would like they would have met, it was so Shay could get some one-on-one time with Eli for her schooling and they could finally meet and spend time together. Unfortunately, there was something that came up towards the end of their time together which added stress to both of them. Of course, that is also when Cash comes into the picture. I really liked when Ty goes to the lake to see Shay and of course Cash tags along not only to see his friend Alexis/Alma but to help figure out the situation with Shay. It was hard when Shay made the decision, but she did, but it was the best for her at the moment. Couldn’t have been more excited when we ended up in Montana with everyone making sure Shay was good to go but you knew that the threat was going to ultimately find her and unfortunately it did. It was interesting to see Cash and Alexis/Alma in action knowing they would do and most likely did whatever it took to eliminate the threat. I was also surprised, even though I shouldn’t have been, when Lucky and our wonderful Echo showed up as well. I was hurting for Shay with everything that happened but, in the end, everything turned out amazingly well for Shay and Ty and the ending was perfect. I’m definitely intrigued by Cash and the one who got away and I’m also wondering about Jessanie Archer. Excited and eagerly awaiting the next book.

This is the seventh book in this phenomenal series, and this is Ty and Shayna’s story.
Ty has watched most of his brother’s find their significant others and settle down, and he is open to the opportunity for himself. Nessa opens an online dating site for Ty, and he is almost ready to close it down when he receives a message for an intriguing woman. Shayna has spent her whole life in Summer Lake, and a well-meaning friend sends a message from Shayna’s account to a hot cowboy, they start chatting online, and their relationship develops from there on.
This is a well written MacFarland Ranch / Summer Lake story which has family, friendships, emotions, humor, witty banter, intrigue, a stalker, engaging and realistic characters, romance, and love, which leads to an entertaining and compelling page turner.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

SJ McCoy does it again! We start to fall in love with Shay in Life Should be Beautiful and we’ve known about Ty for awhile. I was so excited for them to get their own book.

This HEA is a great read and Shay’s stalker adds a little bit of excitement to the story. It’s always great to check in with some of the other folks from Montana and Summer Lake too. Easily a standalone read, but definitely worth starting at the beginning to meet everyone.

Thanks for another great book!

This story hooked me from the start and I could not put it down. The perfect example that found family can be just as caring, protective, and meaningful as biological family.
I loved getting to 'visit with' various characters from both Montana and Summer lake and how close and interconnected everyone is. But, no worries, if you haven't read all of the previous books, this one can be read as a standalone as well! Highly recommend!

The Cowboy's Intriguing Love is book 7 in the MacFarland series. Ty is one of the last MacFarland men standing as his brothers and cousins have all found love on the ranch. With a little push of a friend we soon find Ty falling for Shayna. This was a Summer Lake/MacFarland cross over series. I love when series and characters blend across SJ McCoys adventures. This book did not disappoint and delivered another great romance.

This book is so good. I absolutely loved Ty and Shayna’s story. These two make such a great couple and I so enjoyed watching them fall for each other as the book progressed. This book combines Summer Lake and the MacFarland's which makes for a captivating read that I couldn't put down. I anxiously await the next book.

Loved Ty and Shay’s story! Ty and Shay meet online and decide to meet in person. Can it be love at first sight? With Shay being gone. For a few days, it causes some crazy person to start sending messages to Shay. What they need to figure out is if it’s a real threat or not. But while they are figuring it out we get to see the rest of the MacFarland crew along with Booker, Devin, Alexis.

I loved absolutely loved Shay and Ty. It shows that even meeting on a dating site how quickly a couple can fall in love. Such a wonderful story of Shayna finding a family and love. Tyler is so protective and sweet. A lot of adventures to keep you turning the page. Can’t wait for the next book.

Wow what a book. The love they had was amazing. He fell hard and fast. She felt the same. Thinking they were ok in the mountains. When she went missing. I loved how characters from other books are involved. Great book

Ty & Shayna

Written a bit different from her other books in this series. There are quite a bit text messages in the beginning chapters, but there is still a lot of romance, intrigue & family interactions. Worth the read. (Reviewed by Lin)
