I really liked this book. This book is introducing animal's head bone. The illustraions are very interesting and realistic. It looks sometimes unusual and unfamilar but, this is what this book is interesting. There are a large number of information about skulls. This is suitable book that young readers can learn about animal's bones.

This title is a companion to the stunning Bone Collection: Animals book. It features a variety of amazing skulls from several animal classes and affords readers an inside look at some familiar and unusual creatures. In addition to basic information about skulls, bones and animal adaptations, there is a wealth of data and numerous factoids that serve to enlighten the curious reader. The photo-illustrations are awesome and edifying. The book is a feast for the eyes and an excellent browsing book. Animal enthusiasts will enjoy it. It’s unfortunate that most of the larger skulls and animals span the spreads; some of the impact of the illustrations is lost in the gutters. Also, the paper covers are not designed for repeated library circulations. It would be a splendid gift for any animal lover. School librarians, order at your discretion.

This fascinating 96-page book introduces the young reader to bones in all sorts of creatures' heads. On each double spread, there is a photo of a skull, and then many sidebar-ish captions explaining where the animal lives, what it eats, what class of animal it is, how it raises its young, how human skulls are different than other animals' skulls (and the reason for that), and why animals' skulls are the shapes they are. There is just enough information to keep a young reader interested and turning the pages. It can also work as a read-aloud if a group is working on a unit about bones or animals. The drawback to this book is that it comes in paperback format, albeit with a stiff cardboard cover, and will not stand up very long to the stress test of many young hands in an elementary school library.

Although its random organization left me confused, this book's 96 pages of facts, figures, and information about animals and their skulls are amazing. Readers will love having a chance to see the skulls and their eye sockets and learn about how the skulls or the positioning of eyes affects how the animals move or what they see. The book is visually appealing and chockfull of nifty trivia. It would have been even better if readers had been provided with skulls for every species described here, but that is not the case. Still, the focus on those skulls offers an interesting entrance point to the animals themselves and their daily lives. This one won't stay on classroom or library shelves for very long.

The book Bone Collection Skulls is amazing. It describes in detail how important the skull is to different animals. It gives different facts about the animal’s life, about how they live, what they eat, etc. After talking about one specific animal it talks about the group. When it talks about the group it focuses on different animals in that group. I really like this book, because it showed me lots of interesting facts about animals and the groups that they are in. I give it a five star rating. I’d recommend this book for 3rd to 6th graders.
