Well, can't say book was great but satisfactory. I guess taking break paid off since book got more interesting lately.
The best part is the last part where two ex-villains take over the control of the worlds greatest and strongest family.

I knew I was in good hands starting out in this one just knowing Korman was at the helm, he is always one of the standout writers of the series and brings tension and drama that’s usually unseen in younger audience focused media and isn’t afraid to show reality and its harshness at times and I respect that and it makes sense for him to be the second spinoff series’ finisher. While he did throw some interesting and captivating curveballs, unlike some books I felt like it was rushed a bit too much and not given quite enough read time to fully make use the storyline and such it felt wrapped but slightly unsatisfying but the completionist in me is thrilled at another series down. 4.5/5

The clock is ticking

The Cahills have only a small window to release the antidote on J. Rutherford Pierce. Also, what is up with everyone, even him, referring to him only as J.? What is his first name, did I miss it?

They have it easier now that they have the world renowned hacker on their side, April May, who is also Cara Rutherford. Once again, all five branches are co0operating to save the world.

But will Amy sacrifice her life in the process?

Overall:
This book was really great!!! It’s the last book in this 39 clue series, Unstoppable. I haven’t read the first 3, so it was honestly a little confusing, but it was still really good! I don’t own this book, I borrowed it from our neighbor. I do, however, own the first book in this series, so I’ll be reading that one soon!

Amy has taken the serum which might kill her if they don’t make the antidote within a week.

Suspense through the whole book!!😁

Thus ends the second of the four 39 Clues spinoff series. I've said a million times that everything that happened after the main series is fairly unnecessary, though I do think they upped the life-and-death stakes in this arc.

So, the release date says August 26th and it's already August 28th. Is it already out in the US? Or not? Because I've been looking for epubs (or ebooks) for two days now. But they always come with a price.

So, I've finally read it.

I was shocked because of the "Cara Pierce is April May" revelation. But it's cool. Like, really really cool. But I was a bit, a teensy bit disappointed since there are only a few Jake and Amy moments.

I have to admit, that was one of the things I was waiting for!

And... another shocker was the Hope - Pierce thing. Like, really? HOPEOLIVIA?

I also want to find out what happens to Debi Ann after... because she was like, "That's for Letitia Tyler!" Ekats are great. Also Galt. But I won't even bother to ask what happened to Rutherford.

But, great book! Liked it. Full of action and wasn't boring. It was a very enjoyable one hour of reading the ebook.

Nem acredito que essa temporada acabou, foram só quatro livros mas foi tão cansativo ficar na repetição de toda hora os capangas do Pierce aparecerem pra correr atrás da Amy e do Dan. Cansei mais com esses 4 livros do que lendo as duas primeiras temporadas juntas. No geral eu gostei dos livros e dos personagens novos, mas a repetição pesou muito, acho que dei uma saturada. Amei demais o Ham e o Jonah melhores amigos, eles são tudinho juntos e também adorei que finalmente trouxeram um pouco de paz pro Ian, eu acho que ele que teve o maior desenvolvimento ao longo de todos esses livros (além do Dan e da Amy obviamente) e fico feliz por ter chegado onde chegou. Não sei o que esperar da última temporada, mas devo dar um tempo antes de ler a próxima.

It's the 3rd series and the 22nd book and I am still keeping track with it. Why so? Because I AM SERIOUSLY IN LOVE WITH THESE BOOKS.

Everytime I'm reading a 39 Clues book, I can actually feel that I am a part of the Cahill family. Every book in this series, especially this one, is nothing short of adventure, danger and humor. They are as though written by a single author instead of many because I can't really see the difference. Or maybe because it's particularly Amy and Dan who were narrating the story, that's why.

I'm glad to see Amy alive, though. Wishing her and Dan a safe trip!

So excited, and a little bit nervous, for the last series: Doublecross.

A brilliantly written tale told masterfully. It managed to capture all the charm of the original series and takes away the bad taste which the previous finale had left in my mouth.

A short but sweet franchise ending with a pretty nice read which is a balanced mixture of thrill, suspense, and intrigue and a whole lot of wholesome adventure.

I think I'm starting to like Gordon Korman's writing as well. After all, he seems to have proven himself time and again and every single time I've read a book authored by him, I'd always wanted to read more.

A great way to end a series.
There were some nice twists and funny moments, but also some disappointments. Why did Amy and Dan have to stop doing Cahill stuff?!!
Saladin was being his normal, gorgeous self.

Inexplicably good and indescribably the 39 clues. I enjoyed this so much, and as great as my relief is for the Cahill's, a part of me still hopes there will be more... Is that wrong?

I absolutely loved the beginning of the 39 clues books. I read 18 volumes across two of the series between 2009 and 2012. But then life got very busy with a change in roles at work and 3 young children at home; and they sort of fell off my radar. But I have been on a mission to read and review the complete works of Gordon Korman. I picked this one up when I had a little over 7 to go. It reminded me how good this set of series is, and I have added the remaining books to me ‘to be read’ pile (for after I have completed Korman’s canon). I read this book out of order to complete my way through Korman’s works. It was strong enough to stand on it’s own, but I will circle back and read the preceding three volumes. But back to the volume at hand, the description of this volume states:

“The final adventure in this explosive 39 Clues story arc.

Tick tock. Fifteen-year-old Amy Cahill has only a few days to live. There's a poison coursing through her, and her only chance is to collect ingredients for an antidote. Too bad the antidote's ingredients are scattered around the world. And too bad that survival is by far Amy's smallest problem.

The antidote she needs is also the only thing capable of stopping a deadly enemy. J. Rutherford Pierce is on the brink of becoming the most powerful man in the world, and if he does, no one will be safe. Amy and her younger brother, Dan, will do everything it takes to bring Pierce down. Even if Amy must pay the ultimate price.”

This is the final story in a four book series for the 39 Clues Unstoppable story arc. As mentioned I had not read the previous three and even the 5 other volumes in The 39 Clues Cahills vs. Vespers series since Korman’s last work in the series. This story starts with pure action. Amy has consumed Gideon Cahill’s formula. And the various branches of the Cahill’s are working together to gather the ingredients of an ancient antidote. It is proving quite a challenge. They are trying to get their hands on the last ingredient, venom from a now nearly extinct snake in South America. They need to not only gather the ingredients to save Amy, they also need to stop Pierce a man set on first the presidency and then conquering the whole world. They need to make the antidote, test it, and find a way to get it on Pierce and his whole jacked up family and goons. No small task for a group of teens and young adults no matter how gifted a family they come from.

This was the third novel I have read in this series in 13 years. Reading this volume and the other three after a 13 year break was like a visit with old friends. The plot is breakneck, the pace almost non-stop action. And the characters are masterfully written. Another thrilling adventure featuring Dan, Amy, Ian, Alistair, Hamilton, Jonah and other friends are on the team in this concluding adventure. I can easily recommend the book and books across all the 39 Clues series great fun for the young and young at heart!

Y bueno llegamos al fin al de esta Saga.

Lo único rescatale fue ver el amor y cariño de unos a otros con la familia (Aunque se siente horrible ver cariño forzado en Amy y Dan NO HAY NECESIDAD DE TENER A UNO EN PELIGRO DE MUERTE PARA QUE HAYA AMOR).

Mismo final cortante, conclusión sacada de la manga, hasta usaron el mismo recurso del traidor qué nos venían manejando desde 2 Sagas atras y el sacrificio valioso para tener el final feliz.

Es todo como una lista de cosas que se deben cubrir en esta Saga; al inicio de Vespers, de verdad creí que veríamos un poco de madurez de los personajes y pensaría que podríamos ver la evolución también en sus aventuras... E incluso por las situaciones terribles parecería que no era ya lectura para peques, pero me equivoque y mucho, el final fue muy cortado, otra vez no hubo consecuencias de todo este caos, muy poca credibilidad...todo muy plano.

Sip, mi hype se estaba diluyendo un poco desde mediados de Vespers, pero aquí creo que cayó mucho.

Hay muchas situaciones incongruentes, pero bueno, me quedo con los puntos buenos de esra serie: La familia Cahill se está volviendo cercana (Sigue la incongruencia latente de que la cabeza familiar sean jóvenes adolescentes, no haya ningún adulto aquí qué ayude o retenga o algo) así que lo bueno lo veo asi: primos que estaban peleados en la búsqueda, ahora son mejores amigos y se llevan de lujo.

De todo este desastre Ian salió ganador con una novia (que és un espejo de el mismo😑), pero creo que jonah y Hamilton fueron los mayores ganones...

Ahora que Amy y Dan tuvieron su jubilación temprana, a ver con que nos sale la 4ta Saga (Digo, espere mucho por estos libros, al menos quiero leerlos para que valga la pena)

This book really seemed to divide the cahills again. They worked together, but designated certain tasks to people based on their skills as a cahill.

Apparently nellie and sammy are a couple? Did i completely miss that?? Ian and cara might be a couple. Amy and jake were fighting the entire series and only when she almost died did it seem like he still cared.

The plot was great, but the character relationships could have been given some more attention

- Only need one more ingredient for antidote
- Jonah staged an appearance to cover for amy and dan escaping out of sight of pierce
- Pierce is running for president. Eventually wants to kill his wife. Can’t stand her. He loved hope. He only wants to destroy amy and dan because hope rejected him
- Debbi ann found Olivia’s book
- April may is pierce’s daughter. She hides it from pierce
- Find a room in a pile of rock
- Fight with the pierces
- Jonah rented out his plane. They have to wait another day
- Amy is given a timeline. 2 days…
- Need someone to take the serum to test the antidote
- Fiske takes the antidote. When did he have the serum??
- Spray the antidote the way villains usually do in movies
- jonah causes a distraction until amy is ready
- yelling at his wife was broadcasted
- Amy loses consciousness. May have received antidote too late
- pierce thinks he has the upper hand because of bombs created by april may
- Dan and amy want out if the family business so they can travel. Ian and cara are now the leaders
- Exclusive: branch leaders get together and want to bring the branches back. Don’t like that everyone is basically a madrigal now

The Unstoppable series lacked something that the previous series had. I can't quite put my finger on it, but it just didn't have that one thing that made the danger more....I don't know. It might've had something to do with Amy's decisions, it might have had to do with the smaller scope the series had, since it was only four books. It might've been that there wasn't a new edge to it.

That said, FLASHPOINT was my favourite in terms of character development, and involvement. Rutherford and his wife were more flushed out (and she was particularly interesting to me, since it's her heritage and his obsession with it that allowed the entire plot to happen). Cara was already interesting, but became even more so (though I do wish her brother wasn't so one-dimensional).

You know, I think it's the fact that it wasn't a Cahill matter that made the series feel off. Rutherford Pierce wasn't a Cahill. The media outlets he owned were attacking the Cahills, but it wasn't like the Vespers. There wasn't a connection. It just seemed weird that it wasn't because of a well-established hundred-or-so-year feud. It was just one guy who was spurned one time, and thought hey, I deserve to rule the world, so why not?

All that aside, the action in this one, and the stakes being as high as they were, I really must say that it was a good finale, despite being my least favourite of the 39 Clues series thus far.

This one is a much better pace than the last two. Amy was utterly annoying in this arc. Having Jake literally in her hands and she still could not kiss him really ticked me off. The nuclear bomb situation- I saw it coming a mile away. The Cara ex-machina could have been better if they had spent more time on the clam baking event than wasting like 10 pages looking for a snake. The last part of the book saved the book. It’s not bad but could have been better.

I also wish they could harness Jonah’s musical talents more often and not make him a running joke. Same with Ian. It still felt that it was an Amy & Dan show and some supporting cast when we should know by now how to properly display each kid’s talent.

All in all it was a good read. I’m ending it here because I sincerely do not want to see how they fuck up Amy’s love life in the next chapter.

I had really high hopes for this series. It was still good, but just not as good as the first two series. Plus, it is still so annoying to me that we get more of Jake and Atticus than the rest of the Cahills (outside Amy and Dan)! I gave the first three books of this series four stars, but I really did not like the ending to it. I don't like Cara and I don't understand how meeting a girl and barely having a handful of conversations with her made Ian totally forget about Amy with next to no closure of his feelings. It feels like Ian was just being used as a device to rile up Amy's boyfriends and they had to find someone to pair him off with so we wouldn't still hope he would end up with Amy. I'm not totally excited to read the last five books but I intend to do it anyway. I really have loved this 39 Clues journey, but I really hope that my expectations for the last series and the super special are exceeded. Either way, I will still have the first two series to reread at least!

A great ending, tying the series together and unveiling the mystery and questions bugging me for the last few books. Although, the moment I had a pretty strong haunch that Cara may be April-May, was pleasantly surprised at the confirmation.

Ian and Cara now ruling the Cahill family? Might need some time to digest this one.

Found this book to be better than the last two, it echoed of the original series where the family either works together or is at each other's throats. The bonding was heartwarming and Amy's character improved a lot. At least she's not a whiny teenage dictator anymore

Gordon Korman is my top two favorite authors in the series, so it was bittersweet reading his final contribution to the series. I always loved what he brought to the characters, the engaging plots, and the fun moments.

The series ended in a fantastic place, so a part of me wants to stop here, but my other top two favorite author, Jude Watson, wrote the next book, which will also be her final contribution to the series, so I have to go on, but after that, it'll be brand new authors, and I'm skeptical as non of the non-original authors were able to capture the magic behind the series.

In this book it is a race against the clock to find the antidote to the serum, save Amy's life and stop Pierce from taking over the world! This series takes readers on an absolute rollercoaster journey of intense page-turning drama. I really enjoyed reading this book and getting to find out what the final outcome would be for the characters. I highly recommend these books and think that a lot of people would enjoy them.

Easiest way is to do a whole series review I think. I loved this quartet! J. Rutherford Pierce was an awesomely evil villain... but would he really be a worse president than Donald Trump? ;) I was floored when April May turned out to be Cara, and again when Cara turned out to be the girl who hoodwinked Ian in Ireland! OMG I was devastated when Pony died though, unfair :( That was harsh. Loved the settings and the hunts for the serum antidote ingredients so, so much.

I read this book aloud with A during summer between 4th & 5th grades. It reminded me of the Explorer Academy series I read to D - young kids traveling on their own to exotic places all of the world, searching for a serum to save lives, fighting against a group of bad guys, family ties, etc. It was a good read, hunting for an almost extinct snake, swimming in ancient lakes, etc. Lots of excitement.

This one was actually a great ending to this mini series. The pacing was great- it was action packed enough that it kept me on my toes and it has just enough suspense that it makes you want to read more and see how this mini-series ends. Some things were predictable and a bit too similar to the first series- like one of the villain kids going against their parent and then changing sides - but it was still an enjoyable read and a decent conclusion to this sub-series.

What a thrilling end to this 4-part set in the 39 Clues franchise. It really came down to the wire... with poison killing Amy Cahill as every hour ticks by, how are the Cahills going to put everything back together again and free the country from J. Rutherford Morgan, AND save dearest Amy? It's a tall order, and an exciting adventure.
