Biblical Eldership is an excellent resource on the biblical evidences for a plurality of equal elders. Strauch helps the reader see the biblical model for each church to have a plurality of elders shepherding the church from a number of biblical passages on the topic. In the book, Strauch leaves no stone unturned as he shows with detail the Bible's clear teaching on the topic. I read this as part of an Eldership Cohort and it was very thorough and helpful.

Excellent. I don't think you are going to find a better resource on eldership. I have known Alex for 50+ years and he lives out what he preaches. If anyone has lived out Biblical eldership, it is the author. I highly recommend this for any believer, but especially those who have been or will be an elder. Thanks Alex.

quite helpful providing the theological and practical knowledge about church leadership. I will admit that I am biased as he was reinforcing what I already believe, which means I tend to favor this as a resource

Great content, second half was good but overall it was extremely repetitive. Read the front half of this book and you’ll get the pertinent message the author is seeking to convey.

Excellent book. Foundational and very thorough. But yeah, he doesn’t need to go through a second qualification list in the second half of the book. Just do it concurrently and this would be 5 stars.

I highly recommend this book if you want to understand the Biblical Office of Elder. The beginning of the book summarizes the Biblical model and it's application, while the remainder walks sequentially through the major passages that deal with the subject of Elders. Whether or not you aspire to the Office of Elder, this book will help you understand what it means to shepherd a church, who is and who isn't qualified to do so, and how the Biblical model of Eldership promotes the flourishing of the Church.
