Rock & Roll Nights #3

Noah: Smoke and Mirrors

Rate this book
Noah

I never expected this life to be an easy one. My band needs a new deal, and our next tour is our best and maybe only time to find it. I’ve got plans, though. Good ones. I just need everything to go right.

Molly Rush, my best friend and Girl Friday, was supposed to be on hand to help me with them. But when she gets a new job as a magazine photographer, that goes sideways.

When she returns to photograph our tour, she’s suddenly mouth-wateringly sexy. Confident. Shining.

Irresistible.

And I can’t keep my hands off her.

No matter how much I know I have to.

Molly

Noah Michael has been my best friend since we were kids, growing up in the same orphanage, and I’d be lying if I said I never loved him.

Honestly, I’ve loved him my whole life, and it’s always been a bad idea.

Which is why I take a new job, far from him and his bandmates. But when my new employer sends me right back to him, camera in hand, he starts looking at me different.

Looking at me like he actually wants me.

But I’m too smart to give in to that sort of thing. I know him too well to take the risk.

At least my brain does. My heart, on the other hand…

Noah: Smoke and Mirrors is the third installment in the Rock & Roll Nights series, and promises angst, spice, a damaged rock star and the girl he secretly loves, and a guaranteed HEA. Tissues not included!

Quinn Marlowe is a fan of red wine, cheesecake, perfect hash browns, and really good punk rock. She’s also obsessed with everything piratical—though she refuses to acknowledge any actual connection to pirates. She studied English and Film at UCLA and, when forced to choose a career, chose publishing rather than teaching or being a film maker. Quinn lives in San Diego with her husband, dogs, and far too many cats.

Her Romeo is Quinn’s first book, though she hopes it will be followed by many more.

Friends to lovers that was a good read. While this wasn’t a super spicy book it’s one that you see and hear about often. Sometimes it takes losing a person to realize what they really mean to you.

Noah and Molly

Noah and his band needs a new deal and they are hoping the tour will make that dream come true. Molly and Noah have been friends forever and neither would admit that there was more to their relationship. Molly had been by Noah’s side throughout but finally thought it was time for her to move on. She becomes a photographer and when her boss has her go back to the guys, Noah sees her in a whole new light. I loved their connection and the way they found their true HEA.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart to the author for sharing an ARC of this book with me !!!

“I was her guardian Angel. The avenging demon standing between her and everyone else. The place she turned when she was scared. And in exchange, she became my home. My pet. The place I went when the world become too much”

“Because that was my girl right there. And I was hoping - praying - that when I got off this stage and went to her, shams be waiting with opens arms”

I had an absolute blast reading this book. Don’t get me wrong, Lila and Rivers are my babies. But the tension and forbidden romance between Molly and Noah … boy, it did wonders for my heart !!!! Molly is such a fun character to read about. And Noah is absolutely the bad boy we all want, with a troubled past (a real traumatic one at that) who would do anything to protect her even from himself. And I am absolutely in for that !!! And the way he shows his jealousy??? YES, please give me more !!!! While the first half of the book was full of tension and slow burn, it’s only during the second half that we have some release and a bit of trouble !!! Is there also a third act break up? Kind of. But the author made it so good and so sweet that I actually can’t be mad at her for it!!! What a ride really !!!!! And Molly … she is the little girl who has learned to take care of herself regardless of who’s there to protect her heart and even if he was her hero… she sees his faults and decides that she has had enough of him ignoring her. And Noah … he has always seen her. Always loved her and always protected her. Maybe a bit too much!!! This book was truly wonderful and wonderfully spicy in the right moments !!!! The fact that it was a book in a series I love … oh boy I need the next one !!!!

“I would have let you close, Molly. I’ve always wanted you right next to me. But you’re so busy thinking you have to take care of yourself that you’re not willing to let anyone else do it”

“Good girl … Hold me tight, sweetheart. This is going to be a bumpy ride”

Noah and Molly have been best friends ever since he rescued her from a situation at the orphanage where they were brought up. They made up the band The Authors, and Molly was Noah's roadie when they toured. Despite being family, Molly had feelings for Noah, and though he did for her, too, She was always disappointed with him when she caught Noah with someone else. When the job of a lifetime as a photographer for a top magazine, she jumped at the chance and left without telling anyone. Noah down spirals without his rock, and Roadie Molly is there looking out for him. Molly is astounded when she sees what her first assignment is. Will she be able to abide by all the rules on her assignment?
I received an arc for my voluntary honest review for NN Book Blog. You will enjoy this book if you love a rock star romance with some angst. Quinn doesn't disappoint and gives you all the feels.

Back in the world of broken boys and rock music, finding out so much more about Noah and Molly while also enjoying glimpses of the happiness between River and Lila and I loved it. Noah and Molly's back story goes way back to shared experiences in orphanages and foster care, a time which has forfed a deep bond, which has now reached a much needed turning point.
This has been such a good read. I loved the dynamic between these two, alongside the growth they both needed so much, in order to be able to take the next steps in their lives. Their tattered childhoods have made them who they are to a great extent, but they are more than those days and are truly beginning to find that out. Good read. 💖💖💖💖

Molly has always been able to count on her best friend Noah to be there for her since they were children which included working for his band. Her feelings for him run deeper than friendship so she decides to put some distance between them not realizing that her first assignment as a photographer will send her back on tour with Noah and his band.

Noah has always wanted to protect Molly and that includes from himself. When she leaves to pursue another career opportunity and returns it forces him to face his true feelings for Molly and what he must do for them to be together.

Filled with emotion and despite the setbacks they encountered along the way I enjoyed seeing Molly and Noah find they way to each other and what they were truly meant to be.

Noah: Smoke and Mirrors delivers a heartfelt friends-to-lovers story against the backdrop of a rock band’s journey. Noah and Molly’s connection, rooted in a shared past, brings an emotional depth to the narrative, and their chemistry is undeniable.

While I enjoyed the romance and the characters’ growth, I found myself less drawn to certain lifestyle choices, like smoking and drinking, which felt excessive at times. Understandably, this can be a rock star's lifestyle. That said, the novel’s sweetness and promise of a happy ending kept me engaged. Fans of angsty, passionate rock star romances will likely enjoy this installment of the Rock & Roll Nights series.

I really enjoyed this, but I felt like the ending was a little bit rushed. I'm not 100% sure why Molly forgave him to be completely honest, so I must have missed something.

Maybe it's addressed in later books in the series, but it was just left open. Like did Noah get a record deal thing? How are they staying together? Are they doing distance? Is she on tour with them some more? What happened to her dad? Did they connect and she got to hear his side of the story? Does she forgive him? How's little Whiskey doing? He a concert doggo now? So many questions and not enough answers :(

wow

Wow, just wow! Molly and Noah have been best friends most of their life. Being in an orphanage together, he protected her while she did the same for him. Deep down she had always loved him, but it took him A while to figure out the same. They had a rocky relationship but came out on the upside. Whiskey was absolutely a delight in this book. Quinn, whoever proofreads your books needs to be let go. There are so many wrong words in this book, it’s distracting. The same with your other books as well. It even went so far as putting Anna’s name where Lila should have been. Someone should’ve caught that. That’s just the basics for a professional writer.

Just ugh.

Too many spelling mistakes. Was there no proofreading by anyone, including the author?
Also, I thought it dumb that she left the band to work for a magazine, that then sent her on assignment after working there for 2(?) weeks to take pictures of the same band....a band in which her boss had no idea she worked for for years? Was that not in her resumé, nor a cursory internet search? Also also, this girl needs to sort her feelings out. She would literally change her mind every few seconds about her feelings for Noah, and then get mad when he did the same thing that she was doing to him.
This book was BAD. ⭐1.5 stars.

*Noah* is a steamy friends-to-lovers romance with tension and pining. Noah and Molly have been best friends forever, but when Molly returns as the band's photographer, Noah starts noticing her in a whole new, irresistible way. Molly, on the other hand, has always secretly loved him, but knows getting involved would be a bad idea.

Their chemistry is intense, and while I enjoyed it, at times the back-and-forth felt a little dragged out. The romance definitely has its sexy moments. Overall, it's an enjoyable, steamy read with a satisfying ending, though it didn’t totally blow me away.

This is a story of best friends that each have had feelings for each other but kept quiet. Noah and his band need new deal and his bands tour should help him with that. He also wants Molly to help as well but she takes a new job because her heart wants him but her head is telling her otherwise. When she returns Noah finally really sees her. Loved the chemistry and story for these two best friends.

Bringing Past to Present

Noah and Molly grew up together as well as the other band members, making them family they never had. Molly always loved taking pictures where Noah bought her a camera. The band is trying to get a better contract while Molly seeks a job away from her brothers. Noah has to clean up his bad boy image while letting his feelings for Molly grow. It is a well written story finding happiness and true love.

A masquerade of emotions that stays on your mind and sticks to the heart. Marlowe delivers sweet romance with a spicy center that puts addiction to the test. Molly and Noah are a feast that encompasses soulful truths and sensory overload from beginning to end. Heartache that is hard to dismissal.
