I’m a country girl at heart, an author, a homesteader, and a lover of all things simple living. My passion lies in capturing the essence of the simpler side of life, much like the one I enjoyed growing up in rural Pennsylvania.

My life has always been intricately linked with Amish culture, and it’s only fitting that I have a deep, genuine love for their simplicity, sense of community, and God-centered way of living.

Growing up in Northwest Pennsylvania, I spent my childhood immersed in the heart of Amish Country. The rhythmic clip-clop of horse and buggies was my morning soundtrack as Amish men journeyed past my home to work. A pivotal moment in my young life was shaped by a tragic Amish murder, a story detailed in “Crimson Stain” by Jim Fisher. Jake, a key figure in that true story, was my uncle.

Now residing in South Carolina, my family and I frequently travel through the Amish regions of Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, and Wisconsin. These journeys are not just visits but research expeditions. I take pride in writing Amish fiction that authentically represents their culture, thanks to the invaluable insights from friends within these communities.

If the Amish lifestyle fascinates you, join me on Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, and check back here often for new short stories and updates on upcoming book releases. Together, let’s explore the serene and captivating world of the Amish.

Another amazing book by Tracy Fredrychowski. I enjoyed how both the characters, Savannah and Neal are married, and have something more in common than that. As secrets about Neal slowly reveal themselves, will the damage it causes further shatter their trust and relationship? As Savannah’s grandmother shares more of her past with Savannah, will she have her own unknown secrets? The story comes full circle with faith, forgiveness and family. It totally has me engaged from page one. Get your copy today and make sure your calendar is clear because you will not to put this book down.

I was given a complimentary copy of this book from the author. All words are my own.

Savannah’s Amish Ties That Bind by Tracy Fredrychowski is like taking a heartfelt stroll through two worlds that seem worlds apart yet share the same heartbeat. Picture Savannah Carmicheal’s posh Charleston life suddenly upended by her husband's mysterious disappearance. What follows is a journey that pulls her into the heart of a quaint Amish community in Northwestern Pennsylvania, where she uncovers connections she never knew existed.

Savannah’s move from the bustling streets of Charleston to the calm, rolling fields of Lawrence County is as dramatic as it is moving. It’s like going from a whirlwind to a gentle breeze, and you can feel the shift in every page. Her discovery of hidden Amish ties and her evolving relationship with her loving grandmother add layers of warmth and complexity to her story.

Enter Neal Zook—a man who left the Amish world behind only to find himself wrestling with his past. His struggle between staying true to his roots or forging a new path is portrayed with such authenticity that you can almost feel his inner turmoil. His story isn’t just about choosing between two lives; it’s about reconciling who he was with who he wants to become.

Faith isn’t just a backdrop in this novel; it’s woven into the very fabric of Savannah’s journey and Neal’s internal battle. Moments of prayer and reflection are as integral as the characters themselves, guiding them through their challenges. Fredrychowski doesn’t just sprinkle in faith; she makes it a central part of their growth and decisions, offering a gentle reminder of how faith in God, our Creator, can shape our paths in ways we might not expect.

The chemistry between Savannah and Neal is like a slow dance—sometimes awkward, sometimes deeply moving, but always sincere. Their relationship is a mirror to the novel’s exploration of family ties, personal growth, and the search for meaning in unexpected places. The secondary characters, especially Savannah’s grandmother and the local Amish folks, add a touch of authenticity and community spirit that enhances the story’s warmth.

Savannah’s Amish Ties That Bind is more than just a story about faith and family; it’s about the ties that bind us to our past and the courage it takes to forge a new path. Tracy Fredrychowski offers a story that’s both comforting and thought-provoking, leaving you with a sense of hope and a reminder of the profound impact of faith and love.

If you’re drawn to stories that explore the intersections of past and present, and find beauty in the journey of self-discovery and reconciliation, this book is definitely worth a read. It’s a heartfelt exploration of finding where you truly belong and the power of faith in God Himself to guide you there.

I received a digital ARC of Savannah’s Amish Ties That Bind from the author, Tracy Fredrychowski. I am not required to write a positive review in any way or for any reason. My honest and unbiased opinions expressed in this book review are my own. My review focuses on the writing style, the pacing, and the story’s content, ensuring transparency and reliability.

Savannah & Neal are married but Neal has secrets he isn't sharing. The story goes more in-depth with the characters and immerses you in the grief and guilt he faces. Wanting to make things right Neal decides to confront his past but is in for more heartache. Many changes take place when Savannah ends up in the same town.

The story is heartbreaking at times but also shows the strength and flaws of each character and their involvement in trying to fit into the Amish community. This is one of the most interesting and informative Amish books I've read. The characters are real, their struggles impactful, and the descriptions of the town and community made me feel like I was there. It's a great read that will stay with you long after you turn the last page.

I received an ARC from the author; a positive review is not required. All opinions are my own.

SAVANNAH’S AMISH TIES THAT BIND by Tracy Fredrychowski is the sixth book in The Amish Women of Lawrence County series. It can easily be read as a stand alone which is what I did. But now that I’ve read this one I will definitely be reading the previous books in this fantastic series. Savannah and Neal are married, but Savannah feels like Neal is pulling away. Savannah wonders if she will be able to stay in Charleston, SC.

Well, Neal is carrying quite a few secrets and before Savannah knows what is happening, Neal leaves. Savannah doesn’t know too much about Neal’s family and has no idea where he could have gone too. SAVANNAH’S AMISH TIES THAT BIND finds Savannah heading back to live with her grandmother in Lawrence County, PA to try and figure out where her life is headed. While reading SAVANNAH’S AMISH TIES THAT BIND I became emotionally invested in all of the characters. They are all flawed, real and lovable! Once I started reading, I was instantly hooked. I devoured every page and couldn’t wait to see what was going to happen next. This not so typical Amish story is filled with jealousy, temptation, lies, rumors, but also love, family, and second chances.

Neal is determined to make Savannah happy once again, but first he needs to confront many things from his past. Plus it seems everyone knows about this secret tragedy except for Savannah! In SAVANNAH’S AMISH TIES THAT BIND I loved Savannah and Neal, the primary characters, but also fell in love with all of the secondary characters. Every one of them has an important part to play in this heart warming story and even though I wanted to reach in and shake some sense into one or two of them every now and then, they all weaseled their way into my heart. This story is also funny and I found myself giggling out loud many times. My emotions were all over the place and I was even reaching for the tissues quite a few times. Neal and Savannah are both hiding painful pasts and are afraid of being exposed at any moment. Will they learn to forgive themselves and begin to live again?

After a troubled childhood, Savannah Carmichael has tried to build the perfect life including a perfect marriage and a perfect job. However those dreams are shattered when first her husband disappears and then her job. Meanwhile, her husband Neal, who also tried to make a new life for himself after a devastating accident, begins to realize that he c⁸an’t run from the past, including his Amish roots, and needs to confront it in order to move on with his life. The two love each other but will they be able to build a new life together?

Savannah’s Amish Ties That Bind is the nicely done sixth book in Tracy Fredrychowski's The Amish Women of Lawrence County series. Truthfully, I didn’t like Savannah all that much at the beginning of the book – she had a quick temper, a bit self-centered, and not all that nice. However, I began to realize that readers weren’t supposed to like her – that she needed to grow as a character – I did indeed begin to like her as she started to change. Neal’s situation is a bit more complex as he struggles with his past and trying to do right for all involved while deciding what his future will be. The two make a good couple and become a stronger couple as they both begin to change. Without giving any spoilers, I love the way that Fredrychowski does not take the easy way out for any of these characters nor does she sugarcoat the Amish way of life or the Amish themselves. In the end, I really enjoyed this book and was sorry when it was over because I really enjoyed the characters and story.

I received a copy of this book from the author but was under no obligation to review it.

Savannah’s Amish Ties That Bind by Tracy Fredrychowski is book 6 in The Amish Woman Of Lawrence County Series and just as the other 5 books this one didn't disappoint! Tracy has a way of writing that brings you into the characters world, you become one with their story.
In this book Savannah and Neal will each travel their own journey in the hopes of eventually landing in a place together stronger in their faith, stronger in their self, and most of all stronger in their life together, however it isn’t without facing the pain of their past and daring to do all the work to grow in that pain.
They realize that faith is a personal journey, their past, pain, and mistakes will follow you until you face them and lean on that faith to carry you forward.
I loved Savannah’s and Neals story it shed light on the importance of self love, community belonging and family ties.
You can read this book as a stand along however I would suggest reading the whole series as with each book you too will become part of this wonderful community of women. I am already looking forward to Book 7 which is Ruths Amish Words of Faith
Please check out this series it wont disappoint.

Savannah’s Amish Ties That Bind

As I’ve mentioned before I am big fan of the author Tracy Fredrychowski. I’ve been reading her books ever since she started publishing. Each book is better than the previous book! Her latest book I couldn’t put down. The main characters are a young man who grew up in the Amish community but left the community. He met and married a young woman who had grown up in Charleston, South Carolina. She had no idea about her husband’s upbringing. When certain events occur Neal, the husband must face his past and Savannah ends up seeking refuge with her grandmother, there she discovers Amish ties that she had no idea about. Will the couple find their way back to each other? How does God play a part in their reunion? This inspirational book will inspire you as you learn how reconciliation can change a person’s life.

Disclosure: I received a copy of this book via the author. I was not required or asked to leave a positive review. All thoughts and opinions are my own and are honestly given.

Savannah’s Amish Ties that Bind by Tracy Fredychowski is the sixth book in The Amish Women of Lawrence County series. It can be read as a standalone for those new to the series. I enjoyed returning to Willow Springs, Pennsylvania where life moves at a slower pace. I love Savannah’s grandmother, Gigi. She is a sweet, kind woman. In the beginning, Savannah is a smart, spunky, and creative woman who needs to work on her temper. She also needs to address issues she has with her parents. Neal is confused and needs to figure out his personal as well as his professional future. Savannah’s Amish Ties that Bind is a different type of Amish book. It is a good story told from Savannah and Neal’s point of view. Neal and Savannah have a lot to figure out. While Savannah’s Amish Ties that Bind is an interesting tale, I did not like seeing individuality discouraged. Faith is one of the main focuses of the story along with regret, family, love, and forgiveness. Savannah’s Amish Ties that Bind is a special story that will resonate with many readers.

This 5 star read was another absolute treat from the hand of Tracy Fredrychowski. I read this in one sitting not wanting to eat or doing anything except read. This book had absolutely wonderful characters who portrayed the Old Amish Order accurately as well as the New Order and those who were Amish or with Amish roots living as non-Amish. I absolutely loved our main characters, male and female and I loved being transported back to Willow Springs in Lawrence County in Pennsylvania. I felt as if I was visiting and could see the picture that Tracy so cleverly painted with her descriptive words. I should like to thank Tracy for my digital ARC and can promise that this review is not biased in any way. Tracy knows that all my reviews are honest and my true feelings. This book could be read without reading others in the series but I know if you love this you will want to go back and read all about the Women of Lawrence County.

I loved book 6. Savannah suddenly discovers her husband has taken off and she has no idea what has happened. This leads her into a difficult position as she wonders how to continue with things as they now are. She finds respite with her grandmother and finds out things about her heritage and that of her missing husband. As she learns of the Amish, she finds confrontation from the community members because of the outside influence they feel she is bringing into the community. Will she find her husband and the reason for his disappearance?
This book revolves around love, family, repentance and forgiveness. They story held my attention throughout and it was really engaging. Never a dull moment. I highly recommend this book to those who enjoy Amish reading, a bit of mystery and conflict.

I received an arc of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

There are some books which just by looking at their cover, you know that it’s going to be a good read.
“Savannah's Amish Ties That Bind” is the sixth book in The Amish Women of Lawrence County series. You can read it as a standalone, but the series is so good that you will want to read them all.

the truth will set you free

I found this book to be an interesting one, I have seen how families of different living can be made into a living family. How one person holding such an unforgiving heart, to find out he was the one causing the troubles of Neal and Savannah’s life. They wanted to make peace with the community and turn their lives over to God.
Then when the truth came out the congregation accepted them but as for the asking for forgiveness now was the congregation asking them for forgiveness.
We all have a tendency to jump to conclusions, judge and accuse people, even though we know that is wrong. It hurts peoples feelings and when the truth comes out we ask God for forgiveness for doing what God has taught us not to do.
We need to remember when Jesus said those who have no sin on their soul can cast the first stone, we all have sin on our souls.

This book will soften even the hardest of hearts, bringing hope to the hopeless, peace to the troubled soul. What a refreshing experience sharing the lives of Savannah, Neal, Gigi and many others, culminating in a story not easily forgotten, rather one to ruminate on often reminding each reader of the power of forgiveness and God’s faithfulness. Amazing writing and skilled deliverance from the author’s heart and personal relationship with the Father!

Home is where the heart is

Wonderful story Savannah and Neal share the love of family and Willow Springs, but both of them have Amish pasts that they seemed to want to forget. But time and circumstance brings them back to find their roots and faith in the community. It appears that AnaBaptist, Mennonites, Old And New Amish orders share similar faith backgrounds but approach the modern world slightly differently. I’ve noticed that simple and humble make for better community.

It was very interesting and full of heartfelt regret and forgiveness. I received this as an ARC and this is my honest opinion. Thank you, Tracy, for this opportunity.

What a powerful book. This is one that leaves you wanting to turn the page, just to see what poor Savannah has to go through next, yet your heart ❤️ is breaking for her at the same time. It also has a powerful message from God on forgiveness.

Complex plot with a satisfying resolution

This book had a plot with lots of moving parts - complex interactions between a couple with Amish roots, Amish community members who - rightly or wrongly - felt injured, etc. One unresolved issue: The man who contributed to the death of 3 boys never seems to have admitted it to the wider community.

Reading one of Tracy Fredrychowski's books is like wrapping yourself in a warm blanket and settling into the pages for what is always a wonderful way to spend the day.
Savannah's Amish Ties that Bind is the sixth book in her series The Women of Lawerence County. In this story we meet a young woman Savannah who seems to have life altogether along with her husband Neil but when Neil up and disappears Savannah is left devastated and confused. Seeking help from her grandmother she leaves all she has known behind and takes up residence with her. Savannah is quick to anger at times and the not knowing where her husband is a hard struggle for her. With her grandmother's help she discovers a past in her family history she didn't know existed.
Neil is running and trying to right a wrong. His untold past life has finally caught up to him. Instead of talking it out with Savannah he chooses to head home to a family who is not sure what to think of his return. Neil manages to communicate with Savannah through texts not to worry but Savannah finds herself caught up in a world she knows nothing about, a culture that is not sure as to whether to accept her and loving a man she thought she knew.
This was a book that had me on the edge of my chair. A bit mysterious, readers will delight themselves in this well written book . One of my favorite things about Tracy's books is forgiveness as only God can orchestrate. Her characters are always true to life making the story seems more real to her readers.
I received a complimentary copy of this book and was under no obligation to post a review. It was truly a pleasure to read and review this book.
