After barely escaping death when her plane crashed deep in the Rocky Mountains during tornado season, Laura Doyle is left with a lingering fear for her life. Her lover, FBI agent Cameron Winger, reassures her that he found her then and always will. But Laura is right to be afraid, because when their engagement is announced it signals to a madman that it's time for his killing spree to begin again.
Twice thwarted by Cameron and his partners, the Stormchaser pairs random acts of God with deliberate acts of evil. His final act of vengeance will finish his twisted vendetta by taking from Cameron the thing he loves most: Laura.
As law enforcement struggles to connect the gruesome murders he's committed to mask his return, the Stormchaser draws closer to his true target. But Cameron and Laura don't realize they're in the eye of the storm—and this time, being unprepared for the onslaught could spell disaster.

Skimmed to finish series but could barely get through...days to finish a very short story.
The 3 book series felt very contrived and way drawn out. The FBI didn't feel real, the criminal didn't feel real and the romance wasn't much better. Can't recommend this series or any of the books.
2 ½ stars. The best I can say is that it kept my interest. But I was annoyed with some things including stupidity.
The Series: This is book 3 in the Forces of Nature series. The same bad guy Hershel is in all three books. He is after a different woman in each book. The three women are the love interests of the three FBI agents trying to catch Hershel. The bad guy finally gets caught in book 3, so there is a cliffhanger in the first two books. Each book has a happy ending for the couple. The first book was good, but I was disappointed with books 2 and 3.
Going Gone (Book #3): I was kind of bored during the middle. I was tired of the bad guy being lucky all the time. One example: All the local cops had a picture of Hershel but they did not tell the media they had his picture. Hershel pulls into a gas station and sees a cop talking to someone nearby. Hershel walks over to the cop’s car and sees his picture inside. That tells him to immediately do something different. Three books of the bad guy constantly being lucky. Somehow it was too much.
Laura did stupid things. She knows Hershel is after her. So why does she sit in a grocery store parking lot alone at night after work and make a phone call to her sister? And why does she open her front door when the bad guy knocks pretending to be a delivery man?
I was let down with the ending. I wanted to see the good guys catch the bad guy and hand cuff him or hit him. I wanted to see Hershel’s suffering, anger and pain. Instead something else happened that was unsatisfying.
I was annoyed that the last six pages of book 2 were repeated “word for word” in book 3 on pages 102 to 121. Book 2 should have called those pages “Excerpts from Book 3” but they were called “Epilogue.” For example the book 2 Epilogue shows Hershel reading about the engagement of Laura and Cameron in the newspaper. That same scene is repeated in book 3 on page 109. It was like “wait a minute I’ve read this before.”
The sex scenes were brief but nicely done.
DATA: Narrative mode: 3rd person. Story length: 354 pages. Swearing language: strong but not often used. Sexual language: mild. Number of sex scenes: 6. Setting: current day mostly Virginia, Washington D.C., and Mexico. Copyright: 2014. Genre: romantic suspense.
This was my least favorite of the series. It felt a little disappointing after reading the previous books. The book started out promising. I was hoping for a better ending.
It pains me to give this author a low rating, but this book was a hot mess. The lack of attention to detail killed it for me. The errors were not all small details, like when a minor character's name changed from Mercy to Marcy. Some were major points in the plot that differed later in the book. I finally skimmed the last 35% just to get to the end. Even the tone of the writing changed from the previous two books in the series, including the addition of three times the number of sex scenes. Unfortunately, those scenes were repetitive and poorly written and added nothing the advancement of the plot or development of the romance.
I'm not sure who is more at fault -- the author for not keeping track of her own storyline, or the publisher/editor who declared this manuscript print ready. The end result was a book that is just plain bad.
What a story! What a series! Sharon Sala wraps up her Forces of Nature series with Cameron and Laura's story. This particular book had me crying, holding my breath and an emotional wreck waiting for the conclusion. I have to admit I usually read a book in a series, some of my other books and then the next in that series. This one had me from the first book and I just kept one clicking that buy button to the point that I didn't even stop to write a review for the second one. If you love crime mysteries with some romance thrown in, you won't find a better read than this one.
Wow! Fantastic story! I loved how the action started in the first chapter. After that, everything was well-written and fast-paced, making me on my toe. One of the main things I loved about the story was how the main couple stuck to each other instead of giving up (unlike many Asian plots). They knew the danger, and instead of breaking up, they came closer and overcame problems together! That was the spirit! I bravo this decision!
Going Gone is the third and final book in the Forces of Nature series by Sharon Sala. We met both main characters in the previous books. Laura Doyle is a Red Cross employee and FBI agent Cameron Winger's lover. She survives a plane crash and Cameron proposes. Meanwhile the evil Stormchaser killer believes he succeeded with his last mission and when he finds out they are alive after all he resurfaces to carry out the deed once again.
This is a series that really needs to be read in order due to the story line. But there are not any major cliffhangers. Each romance is tied up nicely in each book. I don't know if I just wasn't in the mood to read this or it really just didn't have the same feel as the previous books. It was a decent read but I had a hard time keeping at it to the end. I got tired of reading about the villain and I didn't like the ending. Yes, we get the HEA but I didn't feel the villain got his comeuppance. I would still recommend this series, though, to Romantic Suspense fans.
Laura’s plane crashes and she is the only survivor, the first few chapters are dedicated to her survival and being reunited with lover Cameron. Then due to all the publicity of the crash and Laura’s subsequent survival, an old enemy resurfaces with the intent of murder. This book has a fantastic storyline with the perfect balance of a suspenseful plot and sweet interaction between the characters. I recommend that people read this series in order, although each book can be read as a standalone. It was a very satisfying ending to a great trilogy!
Sharon Sala made some good choices in this trilogy. Now upfront it is an arc story that comes to its completion during the last installment. So there’s a bit of a cliffhanger but it doesn’t affect the relationships and lives of the characters. So I’m not complaining.
#3 He just couldn’t leave well enough alone. Nope, he had to come back and bring havoc and death with him. This is the conclusion to this trilogy and for me it was well done. The beginning was harrowing and I couldn’t figure out where this author was going but I felt it was so very well written that I got uncomfortable and twitchy waiting for the rescue. Laura could have become a nightmare but Sala chose to give her resilience that saved both her and the readers. Cameron was delicious. All the secondary characters were very well drawn out from a smart old lady to the victims. I was angry on their behalf. I loved the chase and the conclusion. Kudos
It was nice to finally end the series and see what happened with the characters you grew to like from the first two books. However, it was a little slow. The first two books seemed faster paced and there was more of a hunt involved.
The plane crash scene at the beginning of the book was good, but didn't really fit with the rest of the story. It seemed like part of another novel with characters from the first two books thrown in. I felt like it was a page-filler scene, not a scene to advance the characters of the story. Once again, I wondered if Sharon Sala had a ghost writer on this one. Either my memory is lousy, or she didn't used to write like this.
If you want to see how the series ends, definitely read it, just don't expect as much entertainment as the first two books.
This is Laura Doyle’s story. She is all set to marry Cameron Winger in a couple of months when coming back from a convention her private plane crashes in the mountains killing everyone aboard except her. After she is found by Cameron and their engagement is announced in the paper and the Stormchaser sees it, he becomes fixated on her and starts killing again.
As the police begin investigating the murders and can’t connect them, but the FBI “Stormchaser” team believe he is active again and is after Laura, but they also can’t connect the murders.
Read on to see if the mystery will finally be solved.......

In this final book of the series, the Stormchaser Herschel Inman targets Laura Doyle, fiancee of FBI agent Cameron Winger. Laura is a survivor who lived after an airplane crash in the Rocky Mountains during a snowstorm. Cameron was one of her rescuers and works to help her overcome the terrible fear resulting from the trauma. When a series of murders with Inman's signature appear around Reston where Laura lives, the FBI team join the local police forse to investigate. With the help of a feisty old lady they are able to find out Inman's new identity. This was a good ending to this exciting trilogy.
This is the 3rd book in the Forces of Nature series. The series is a romance but I think even more a suspense series. The story starts with Nola a single lady stranded in a tree due to flood waters. While on her roof she sees a man pull up to her neighbors down the street to help them but then actually kills them. The story starts there and then continues for three books while they try to figure out who the killer is. During the three books there are three different romances that bloom amounts the three investigators. Fun and suspenseful to read.
The end of the best trilogy I have ever read has come!
Laura was the only one who didn’t die when the small plane crashed in the Rockies. Her two friends and the pilot were dead, wolves were circling the wreckage howling, smelling death. Her boyfriend Cameron was part of the search party, he found her alive but hurt. Weeks later, now engaged, she was being stalked by the madman killer the FBI has been chasin
I would say that from the hop this book snagged my interest. Then it teetered off a little bit with turning into a strict romance for a few chapters and then it held my interest just out of pure curiosity for the outcome. The last 4 chapters I flew through. For being a romantic suspense, I can't help but feel slightly disappointed with the suspense aspect throughout. I do love Sharon Sala and look forward to her other novels.
This was meant to be a quick light read since it was from Harlequin. It was just that, a book that kept me engaged on my downtime at home.
It was a mixture of a love story and the suspense of a serial killer on the loose. With this being book three of the series and I was reading as a stand-alone, did not get the benefit of the story up to this point but the author did a good job of filling in the necessary blanks.
Three's the charm -- and probably because it included a trip to my hometown where the murders continue by a crazy old man who loves changing his appearance, eating fast food -- especially donuts, stealing vehicles and committing heinous revenge killings. All the while, he carries on conversations with his deceased wife who pleads with him to stop.
Sala upped the shock and sent chills down my spine. All three books in the series are fast-paced and action-packed.
Book 3 of the Forces of Nature series reaches a satisfying and unexpected conclusion for both the suspense and the romance. Each of the 3 books focuses on a different member of the Stormchaser team and their quest for love while also racing against time to capture a serial killer who has made his insane and evil aims personal against the team.
This is the third of a series about the Stormchasher who murdered people who survived a major disaster. The FBI agents thought their murderer had died in a boat explosion but they were wrong. Unfortunately the killer had gone after the first two women connected to the FBI and failed so now he is after the third woman who was engaged to a FBI agent. This is an exciting story with a great ending.
This was the 3rd book in the series and it was great. Finally all the questions are answered and the mystrey resolved. I was surprised a bit by the ending but in a good way. thank you Sharon for a great ride. Alice
Hard to lay down, awesome story line and characters. Reason I put four stars is that we hate the F word. Where I am from, we are not accustomed to hearing it..at all. A wonderful book doesnt need that garbage in it.
Great romantic suspense! Heart pounding page turner! I love all of Sharon Sala's books. She is a master out of making you live the emotional roller-coaster by keeping the story interesting and fast-moving.
I liked all three of the books in this trilogy, the first one being the best. By the end of this one, I was just as ready as the characters for the enemy to be dead and gone. :)
I love Sharon Sala. I thought that this was a good book. glad the bad guy finally got what was coming to him. this is the 3rd book of a series. I would recommend this book to others.
