I am not sure where to begin on this one. Gideon Thorpe is a billionaire who takes what he wants and he finds himself infatuated with a seventeen year old girl. Gideon is early twenties, he plans to wait until she is eighteen which is around the corner but when he finds out her fathers plans for her, he intervenes. Gideon marries Ashley knowing she is it but danger is around the corner and he does question her youth.

I think I would have liked it if the heroine was eighteen going on nineteen, had a problem with the age although the author does take great strides of pointing out it is legal for where the book is set. The other thing about the story it completely unfolds into this cloak and dagger story which for Gideon being so young seems more like a hardened forty year old and his parents are not an indication of why he is the way he is. I was curious enough about story to see how it unfolded but there were enough problems that I questioned the ages repeatedly.

This book sorta creeped me out.Now don't get me wrong,I love the older man/ younger woman er girl trope, but the heroine is only seventeen! and the hero is a 26 year old billionaire. He watches her daily as she goes to school in her uniform and finally meets her in the park during her lunch break. He knows everything about her, talk about stalker tendency!
l was cringing with the sex scenes, this was an enthustatic virgin to say the least.2.5 ***

Hey author?

How about some professional editing considering the high prices you charge for your ebooks?

Less alarming but still problematic is, how come - whether they be biker, high schooler, or billionaire tycoon - all your heroes talk exactly the same?

Tropes: older man (9 yrs but she's 17 so it's legal, yo)
Sensuality: R

Read for the 2nd time and still liked it. Will keep the original 4 star rating.

I did want to point out that the girl started out as 17 years old and her 18th birthday is not for another 3 months. However the hero does marry her at 17.

*****Re-read for 3rd time*****

Still a good read. I haven't been liking some of the more recent Jordan Silver books so I've been re-reading some of my favorites from before. I do notice that not all her books are on KU anymore, but only 1/2 of them. This makes me sad :-(

I was enjoying the first half (it’s the typical JS instalove and OTT ridiculous situations - I know what I’m getting into when I pick up a book from this author), but it should have ended there. The second half was very repetitive and unnecessary. The hero running around taking down a sex trafficking ring and stopping every few pages to sex up the h who just waited at the house. It’s was silly.

I don't know how I stumbled on this book but here it goes!
I don't usually write reviews but I will make an exception for this one and no because it deserves it but because readers deserve to be warned!

" There she goes again, fuck me. Does she have any idea what she does to me? Of course she doesn't, she haven't a clue, she doesn't even know I exist.

In her catholic school uniform that made me want to perform all sorts of illegal acts. Well maybe not so much illegal. She looked to be at least seventeen or eighteen; sixteen is legal in this state.

So what if I'm twenty-six years old?

...

She had the typical teenage body, tight ass, perky tits, though hers seemed a little on the heavy side on her slender frame, but it was her lips that really got to me, those fucking lips that made you think 'Angelina who'?

I've had dreams of fucking that mouth for three weeks and counting, but still I hesitate to approach her. A man in my position can never be too careful and going after a young girl might not be the smartest move. On the other hand Gideon Thorpe isn't in the habit of denying himself anything, especially something that affects him so deeply. Not much does anymore so that added even more of a pull. A challenge something to get the blood pumping again. I felt my body react at the thought. "

All this happens in the first pages of the book so you can all see how fucked up that sounds...
and then he goes again:

My dick stays hard now just the thought of getting my hands on her is driving me insane.

I have one of my security team on her at all times now as well, while an investigator is gathering all the information he can. I should know by end of business today what moves I need to make thank fuck. It feels like forever since I’d first laid eyes on her. Since this heat in my body has been threatening to consume me. I should be annoyed that one little girl should have this strong an affect on me but somehow I’m not. In fact it’s quite the opposite, I feel excited and energized. Like I’m about to embark on the greatest adventure of my life. The one thing that gives me pause is her age. Will she be closer to seventeen or eighteen?

I'm hoping for good news, I don't fancy ending up in a police blotter as a pedophile. I'm not sure I could touch her if she turned out to be sixteen, legal or not. Neither am I sure I could wait to take her if she turns out to be that young. Fuck!"

There are so many things wrong about this book I think I could write a book on it, I'll stop here for now.

I don't mind 9 years age difference but when he takes her to his office with him so she can do her homework or he continually talks about how young she is and calls her a teenager or a kid, I've had enough. I mean, he talks about letting her watch tv shows that all the teens are watching...WTF? Is she watching teen nick? But you want to fuck her and marry her?? She's not even mature for her age. At least if she was mature I might could deal with it but she's not. I really wanted to like this but I just can't get past it.

this was disturbing in so many ways. First the age, okay she is 17 almost 18 and he is 26. To me thats not really the issue it was that he kept on describing her as a young kid or child or baby during this book. (then have sex with her) REALLY????? Just horrible book which turned me off this author

Some of the references that the hero made about the heroine felt weird. The heroine is 17 (almost 18) and the hero is 16. The heroine is a senior in high school.

Ugh! I was enjoying this book until at the 65% all of a sudden people were immortal, werewolves and in this big crazy cult that can bring back dead people. Hahahaha. Wtf all that came out of no where. Gideon turned into some elite security ops when I thought he was just a billionaire. Whateves.

Almost called it quits but forced myself to finish it and it somewhat went back to normal.

Gideon Thorpe is a 26 year old billionaire businessman who never thought he'd settle down. Until one day he sees a beautiful young woman outside his office building. He knows she's young because she's wearing a school uniform he just hopes she's not too young. He has his security team run a background check on her so he can find out everything he can before he approaches her. Ashley is a high school student, she will be 18 in three months. Her Mom died when she was little & her piece of SHIT dad blames her. He treats her horrible, she has no friends, is not aloud to date & is given nothing. Gideon was so patient & sweet with her & loved seeing everything through her innocent eyes. I love Jordan Silver's books & I liked this one up until the whole supernatural crap. I'm sorry but it just seemed so stupid & unnecessary other than that I liked the rest of the story.

“This is crazy about you, it beats for you now, only you. You've made me happier than I've ever been in my life, more than I ever thought possible for someone like me. And because I love you so much and need you in my life always, I will never let anything happen to you. Do you believe me?”

Gideon Thorpe is perfect! I love his thoughts and feelings for his blossom. His so patience and understanding and what? Perfect! I'm so speechless to how I will describe him. Even do I hate the part when his telling to himself that ashley is to young. I mean to young! But hell his still perfect for ashley. I love also how the story goes and even the twist. *crossfinger for book two.

This was a weird tale...bit creepy with late twenty-something being attracted to 17 YO school girl. He railroads her into becoming his wife after a week, then gets her pregnant all the while battling a human trafficking ring she unknowingly escaped from. DNF-ed about 50% in and skimmed the rest. Overly drawn out and difficult to connect with.

Thank the Lord this thing is finally over.
When I saw the "practical" cover of this one I convence myself to not judge a book by its cover or even the bad reviews because I had read another from this author and it really wasn't that painstakingly bad but saddly I was proven all wrong about this. I really don't want to rant about this, seeing as I've alredy lost too much of my time finishing this thing, so I think I'm just going to point a few of the many things that make this story a complete waste of my time and money.

* This book didn't meet an editor whatsoever, in fact I don't think this was re-read before it was published.
* The creepy stalker Hero in this is just 26 yo but he is portraited as a mid forties to fifties kind of old guy. He doesn't talk, thinks or acts like a 26yo guy. He just loves the kink to call baby to the heroine and think of her as a kid despite her being really close to 18.
* He gives her a nickname, wich he use even with other ppl....and it's Blossom (give me a freaking break)
* He spends 80 percent of this book thinking of killing ppl, torturing them and has an army of goons to do those things...it's as though this guy is mob head when just a couple of week prior was just some bored dude lusting after a high school girl.
* The whole trafficking thing was a mess, it was a bunch of ideas all over the place, with out a clue on how to saw them together in his inner ramblings, like when you have a brain storm of sorts for the plot and you didn't bother to organize the clutter and outline the good stuff.... after a while I just skimmed this dammned thing because it was pointless to read it. It wouldn't redeem itself and I just wanted this over with.

This has become one of my favorite books ever.I love the way the author handles a very sensitive and horrific subject in this book. You will never look at things the same once you read this book. This book kept me up all night long because I could not put it down. I kept going Wowzers I didnt expect that. The author has so many twist and turns in this book that you will be biting your fingernails down to the nub. I was like No way how can her own flesh and blood do this to her. There will be some people who probable wont like this book because it does cover some very taboo subjects. I think the author does a wonderful job of bringing these subjects up with how she writes them into the story. She makes you feel bad about things that were going on in this story and shows us that even after tragic events happen to people that they can overcome it. I loved the male character in this book and everything he stands for. Everyone needs to run and one click this book. You will not regret it. It was one of the best books I have read this year and for me to say that is saying a lot because I read quite a bit.

I liked this one, I know some don't, but I think everyone likes different things and I liked this one. Yes she's young, but it was still a great read. Little ow f buddy, but he broke it off with her before he even spoke to the h. She did cause a few problems, but not in their relationship.Safety: There is talk of rape of kids that were kidnapped, it wasn't descriptive but it is there. Also the h was checked to see her hymen from the time she was 12. It was also said once that someone fingered her from the time she was 12.

I am unsure as to how I stumbled down this rabbit hole. Right now I'm blaming Val.

Jordan Silver writes some serious fantasy here. She has some standards that are in [almost] every book: older man/younger woman (most of the time she's barely legal), rich alpha male who does what he wants, lots of jealous bitches, virgin heroine, incredibly large penis, jealous bitches getting fucked up by the rich alpha male, heroine's family/care-givers not treating her right so they get fucked up, too (by the rich alpha male), insta-love, insta-lust, lots of use of the word "fuck." Lots of the rich alpha male getting people back for hurting/harming/not loving the heroine. And babies! We can't forget the overwhelming amount of babies and semen.

Oh! I forgot to mention Silver's complete and total lack of knowledge about anatomy. It's quite painful that she believes that the hymen is 5+ inches inside the body. I mean, WTF? What would be the purpose of that??

The heroines are all passive toss aways: the MC of these stories is always the guy. He's always batshit and his family is often in cahoots.

But she reminds me of Kristen Ashley with the crazysauce without the clothing porn.

This one through me for a loop when werewolves were mentioned. None showed up but still...

Silver's books are always 'take the bad with the good.' The author has a knack for alpha characters, subtle humor, and fast paced plots, but she ALWAYS has serious editing issues that drag her books through the mud!

However, this one was just more bad than good since it lacked her usual touches of humor & good characters. The secondary child sex trade plot was really all that the book had going for it, & that's not saying much:/

What's wrong? Well, almost everything...

The fact she's almost 18 and he's 26 didn't bother me, especially considering her home life and his somewhat honorable intentions.

What did bother me is the way he constantly called her a child, kid, baby, etcetera & coddled and cooed over her like a literal father vs a nurturing lover. Either see her as a young woman and treat her as such in EVERY facet, or see her as a child, kid and treat her as off-limits in EVERY facet. The way it was done tainted the age difference with a way, way, way creepy element.

Not so alpha:/ His personality goes drastically back and forth from fretting, second guessing, indecisive, and docile to ranting and beating his chest like a drum; this is far from the alpha males typical of Silver. The "Passion" characters, for example, would've had all the bad guys castrated, in the poor house, & being tag-teamed by a gang of roughends before they knew what hit them!

The female MC does gain empathy from readers for her plight, but she's written as a damn childish simpleton stuck in another era post lobotomy. OMG at the stupid ass questions she asks the male MC. He raves about how smart she is for basically adding 1+1=2. Yet, this is a chick that believes that her long lost bf covered in blood just a couple hours after them coming under attack is suddenly all bloody in the middle of the night because he's been out hunting deer. Rocket science? Nah!

Then there's the whimsical, speed of sound romance. When I say this shit moves fast... I'm talking meet her day one and by the end of the week they're married and house hunting, okay!?! I can deal with knight in shinning on a billion dollar white horse; I can deal with two people seeing something, knowing it's theirs, and taking no hold bars. The problem here is that Silver made the female MC entirely too docile, naive, shy, insecure, & vulnerable for this to feel like anything more than an escape on her part.

Lest I forget all the nonsensical shit that left me scratching my head:

Dude bust through the door of a cop's house... Oookay.

Pregnancy test a week after having sex the first time... Reeeeallly.

CEO billionaire from old money, high society that acts like a damn militant / mobster Godfather spewing military time to his "protection detail" and waving his "piece" around before capping people in the head and kneecaps. Uhm, okkkkay!

These two were laid up in bed humping, licking, and sucking every other paragraph, and hours upon hours at a time. It became monotonous, over the top, and unf'ing believable.

Where the fuck did wolves come from? Hello, left field ... Please meet out of nowhere!

Silver has better. So skip this one!

Okay not rated yet because not finished. She keeps getting recommended in groups I’m in, so I thought I’d give her one more try but I just can’t. First, a lot of overlooking needs to be done to be able to read this to start with. He is 26 and a self made billionaire employing thousands of employees all over the world. Yeah- NOPE. 26? At least 30 would be still ridiculous but at least partly believable in fiction world. Then the insta love is just insane. He hasn’t even TALKED to her yet. Only seen her FROM AFAR. She could be a total narcissist, or a selfish mean girl, or have awful breath or just be Bart vacuous. I’m all for insta love- love that trope- but I need them to have had some conversation or witness of something more than just looks. And last- the part I’m giving up on they first had sec just a few days ago- maybe not even 7- yet the doctors in the hospital already could tell she was pregnant. That there is a big fat NOPE. Suspended my beliefs just too far for me. I’m out.

Ew

Stopped this book at 14%. Dude is creepy. He's talking about how shes a baby. But called her a woman. She is 17, an innocent Catholic school girl and he wants to do her. She's not a woman. She's a girl. Sure if she's had some experiences as an adult she could be called a woman but, she's not. She's a girl. He's a creepy older guy.
He wants to court her? He goes to her father and basically ally tells him he's taking his daughter. He will make sure she gets home for curfew. Holy Hell. Curfew. This book gave me the heebie jeebies. Don't buy it.

Don't normal post reviews but after looking at others that are posting 5 stars im starting to think i read a different book. Sure the whole knight in shining armor was good, but the way he talked to her calling her little girl etc was off putting. It nearlly became a DNF which i think would have been the better option.

Totally different Jordan Silver book. It was pretty dark and depressing and far less about romance. The age difference in the relationship didn't bother me and I liked the addition of Jason at the end.

I get it: she's young. What I didn't get is why it had te be repeated a couple of times every page. After the first 100 times, I got it, really, no need to write it down an additional 200 times...

Other than that an okay OTT alpha billionaire story.

A really good storyline. Awesome description of characters and scenes.

Some scenes transitions were a little too quick but overall a entertaining read.

I decided to give this author another chance and... Nope. This is a grooming guide.
The male protagonist does not want to desire her but of course she walks around in her school uniform and well!!!.
He's a good guy who doesn't want to sleep with her on his wedding night but don't worry because suddenly she turns into Lolita and well!!
He is worried about having gotten her pregnant so young but stop there because she tells him that before women hunted each other and had children much earlier But if that didn't convince him, she told him that the Virgin Mary looked like she was 14 years old when she got pregnant and well!!!
I don't understand the high reviews. This is not an alpha male, this is a man subtly and not so subtly manipulating a teenage girl.
I said it in my previous review and I say it again, this author is a man.
Its male protagonists dominate and control, using various tactics, until all that remains of our FM is an empty shell without will or thought of its own.
And I'm not even going to start on the fact that what every FM needs/wants is a dick to function, to be happy or to stop talking.

Loved it

Gideon Thorpe is a 26 year old billionaire. Works hard and plays hard. Then he sees a girl in a Chaotic school uniform and he becomes obsessed by her. He is determined to claim her.
Ashley is almost 18. She has no friends and is kept sheltered by her widowed father. Memories of the handsome man she saw on her way to school, are her only joy. Than that man shows up and says he is going to claim her.
As Gideon and Ashley get to know one another and obsession turns to love terrible secrets start to emerge. Ashley's fathers hearted for her leads to a plot to sell her to human traffickers. The more Gideon digs the uglier the truth becomes and he is determined to being some very powerful people to Justice.
Loved Gideon and Ashley's story. Jason Stark needs his own HEA. The Billionaire is set in the same universe as SEAL Team 7, The Lyon Series, Mancini's Way, The Bikers Baby Girl, Man of Steel, Bad Boy, and Rough Rider.
