Rate this book
Bring the life you desire and deserve into existence today!

Before her husband’s sudden death, Regina Lawless was at the height of her corporate career as head of diversity, equity, and inclusion at Instagram and seemingly had it all. Then tragedy struck, forcing her to rediscover who she truly was inside and what she wanted moving forward.

On her journey to live and thrive again after loss, Regina realized that the outdated rules for success—to grind incessantly and sacrifice yourself to get ahead—weren’t serving her or any women, especially Black women and women of color. So Regina wrote this book to encourage people, particularly high-achieving women, to investigate their own states of happiness and fulfillment and to build more meaningful lives, both personally and in the workplace.

The meaningFULL framework that Regina uses will help you

● redefine success and live a more profound life,

● reconnect with your heart,

● restore the body,

● reframe your beliefs,

● renew your spirit, and

● reinvent your routines.

This valuable framework, actionable takeaways, and Regina’s inspiring personal story will allow you to redefine what success means and find the courage to change your life.

I would recommend this book to everyone not just considering it to be about handling loss and to achieve success. I read the book as a memoir considering the way it has been written.

Despite facing challenges of a new job of today’s most used social media and being a woman of color with the sudden loss of a close family, the author has been forced to reconsider her position and the decisions she had to make with the right people.

This book has so much to offer and the more I read the book, the more I got more inspired to be unapologetically to be myself and be motivated to become who I want to be.

If you need to rediscover satisfaction in both work and life, happiness and fulfillment this book will be your best guide and friend.

This one was a Good Reads Giveaway win that made me laugh, cry, gasp, cheer, and reflect. It also made me stop breathing as it is the second book that I have read in the past 24 hours that literally told me to "keep seeking".

Regina shares navigating life as a black woman in the corporate world when she unexpectedly loses her husband. As you learn about her story, she fills you in on what she has learned during the most difficult times of her life. Whether you are trying to cope with burnout and work stress or learning to reconnect with yourself, she has tips and principles that can help.

It’s not a self help book so much as it is a memoir with helpful advice. It is wonderfully written and a moving journey and many parts are very inspiring

I devoured the advanced reader PDF of the book the author sent me.

In the book, Regina Lawless shares the raw emotions after her husband’s sudden death. She doesn’t hold back in her honesty and vulnerability. She also examines how she had compromised so much of her well-being and herself in being a model employee for so many years. As she discovers a new way forward, she provides encouragement and inspiration to anyone who has gone through something hard.

In reading this book, I cried, I smiled, I laughed, and I cheered. I highly recommend "Do You" as it offers not only powerful stories but also an actionable framework anyone can use to find their new path forward.

Greatest Read During Grief

Lawless writes flawlessly about her growth through grief. I’ve lost too many close to me recently and to be frank, my younger self wouldn’t have been so reflective and often fell into depression. Through positivity, putting myself first in honor of my sister, mother, and best friend, and now including this insightful book’s recommendation I have been able to learn and grow instead. I highly recommend this book!

This is a very personal story of grief from a high-acheiving black woman. I didn't personally relate to it, as she lost her husband of 21 years, but the general tone and story of continuing on after tragedy is universal. I enjoyed it but it wasn't a page turner. I did appreciate reading about her perspective as a black woman in the corporate world and how hard that is.

While the main focus of this book is how the author navigated the grief she felt after unexpectedly losing her husband, it also provides insight and good advice for taking a look at how you are living your life. Perfect for "workaholics" and anyone feeling burned out in life. Lots of great and practical advice. I received an advance review copy for free and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I enjoyed this book! I love the way the author told her story! I related heavily to having a roadmap for my life and having to change course. The vulnerability that the author put into this book was definitely felt

Everyone should read this book. Most of us in this fast-running world we forget to look after and reflect ourselves; we do think and pretend to live a more meaningful life as we all think, but we aren’t.
But in this book, I loved the framework for a More MeaningFULL Life. ❤️

Amazing insight!

Her story is gut wretching and so inspiring. It's as if I was sitting across the table from her as she courageously bared her soul for me so that I could hear what it was I needed to from her journey! Thank you Regina Lawless!! #goodreadsgiveaway

We are taught that to be happy we have to be successful. And to be successful we have to be busy - busy doing all the things, making all the money.

Regina's book walks us through her own journey showing how narrow this definition of success can be and how often this type of success does not lead to happiness. Instead she challenges her readers to find meaning, a more likely path to happiness. Regina also shares practical advice for giving that meaning more space in your life.

This is a great book for any woman needing to reset on what's important in her life.
