Professional basketball player, Nate Guillory, has a good life. He enjoyed his childhood as the only child in a single-parent home. There is only one thing he feels he missed out knowing his father. Although he had a great upbringing, he feels that it is his right to know the identity of his father and why they weren’t afforded the opportunity to have a relationship. Because his mother isn’t as forthcoming with information, Nate seeks out rapper, Noah Brooks, who is the bonus son of his now deceased father. Getting to know him through Noah’s eyes only makes him resent his mother for keeping secrets. However, while visiting Noah, amid his recovery from heartbreak, his attention falls on Noah’s sister-in-law, Kenya Zenith. Although she’s in a relationship with someone, Nate makes it clear that she is the woman he wants.

Kenya Zenith tends to avoid the spotlight as much as possible. Being born to a famous singer and musician and having the same for a sister, she likes to keep a low profile. While she doesn’t remember her father, since he died when she was only four years old, she suffers emotionally from his absence, longing for a relationship she was stripped of. As she goes through the motions in an unfulfilling relationship, another man catches her attention. Basketball player, Nate Guillory, in all his glory, seems to be the type of man she’s longed for. However, she knows she has loose ends to tie up before giving in to his pursuit of her.

Drama is the last thing Nate or Kenya want to tolerate, but it finds their addresses. Situations arise that could cause their chemistry and attraction to suffer, not to mention issues from their past relationships. Doubt about one another’s intentions creeps in and tries to make them pump their brakes. Can Nate and Kenya move past their hesitancies and form something special, or will they allow baggage from their past to steer their future?

Yes Nate! ❤️ If anyone deserved a deep, soul stirring love it was Nate. I'm so happy he found his one. Someone who understood him, and loves as quickly as he does, cause they moved fast as hell! 😂 Nate needed love, support, and companionship more than anything. Between still pining over Jessica, the issues he was having with his mother, and missing the relationship he was robbed of with his father, he is spiraling. Kenya stepped on the scene right on time.

Kenya was feeling Nate from afar, although she was holding out hope of repairing her damaged relationship with Arik. When he shows her his true colors, she takes a chance with Nate. He is just perfection to her in every way. They meshed together so well and connected so quickly.

Now Miss Sheila needed to go sit her ass down somewhere! She was acting a whole fool when all the issues she was having with Nate were all her fault! Ughh.... 🤬 I commend Kenya for holding her tongue, cause she was asking for it!

I loved the relationship Nate had with Noah. He was always right there for Nate and threw him an assist many times in this read. ❤️ RJ! Missed him and was glad to see him show up with all his crazy! Then the Henderson's show up in Bmore too! 🤩 I was happy to see that Jessica stepped back and left well enough alone, cause after the last read I was sure she would try to spin the block!
Cheers to another one Miss Monica! 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

I'm really glad that we got this story on Nate. After watching Jess play with my mans heart in the last two books. I was really hoping he would get another chance at love. Kenya was definitely Nate's one both yearning for love both hurt by people they once gave their hurts to. Nate was definitely a real one he handle the situation with his mom and Jess with such maturity. This book was sweet and I enjoyed reading Nate journey to love. Definitely recommend read

On a side note I just gotta say this I don't like Jess she did wayyyyyyy to much teasing with Nate. Even in that last closure conversation she didn't have to mention she would of been happy if she choose Nate. Honestly don't like the Jess and Brix pairing to begin with.

👏👏🙌🙌❤😘

I think Nate is the most perfect man that I've read from this author😍. He was so amazing and respectful. I loved ❤ Kenya for Nate. She was on her grown woman ish once she got rid of Arick🙌🙌. Their relationship and chemistry 💦🔥 was amazing, smooth sailing and sexy. I always love when Uncle Mayor makes an appearance.😍 😂

I need a baby wedding update on these two. Definitely ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

NATE & KENYA ❤️

I really enjoyed this story. I thought Nate was going to be focusing all his attention on Jessica, but he has finally found his one in Kenya. Nate is a man who loves hard and has no problems showing it. Kenya was just who he needed to show him that it's ok to move on, be open, and find that unconditional love. The attraction and sexual chemistry were off the charts, but letting go of their past relationships and allowing their hearts to find love with each other was the icing on the cake.

Henderson saga is everything

I love that Nate finally found the woman who was meant for him because Jess wasn’t for him. They were polar opposites with him being an introvert and her being an extrovert. I love these country hood dudes. I can’t wait for the next book.

I enjoyed this book and I’m glad Nate finally got his happily ever after and was able to move on from Jess. Nate was the perfect man and loved hard and without condition. Because of how good of a man he was, I didn’t like the way Jess strung him along and created a soul tie with him that was completely unnecessary, but this book showed that tie be broken in the sense that Nate finally found his one in Kenya. These two were so cute together and were perfect for each other. They both loved hard and unconditionally and deserved to receive that love in return. The only person that I side eyed during this story was Nate’s mother, but she eventually got her act together because she was acting real suspect. This was a great read and an excellent spinoff to the Henderson family saga.

Yall don't haze me for what I'm 'bout to say. Now look I'm from Fort Worth, Tx and i don'thaveafavoriteNBA team, BUT.....this the only way Dallas was going to get the W in the gosh darn'it championship!!! Don't shoot the messenger! Yall blame Ms. Walters!! Lol!! She been writing the heck out Houston, Beaumont, Nome, Liberty, Baytown, ect. for 19 books at this point. She coulda wrote the Rockets won and....yall get my drift, let me stop!!! Lol!!! Now back to this book review!!! Whew chile!!! Lol!!
Even though we only got a brief glimpse of Nate in Nesha's book, I was ready for him and Jessica!!! Looka hure! (Intentional mispelling) Let's not misunderstand me. Kenya's character was great. I enjoyed this book. I couldn't put it down. Mainly because i wanted the heart palpatations to stop, and me no longer need my famotidine for these 120mph curveballs Ms. Walters be throwing!!! But my heart was set on Nate and Jessica. Even once Brix was introduced. Brix's character didn't give me BDE, not for Jessica. Jessica could have broken Brix's heart, he and Kenya could have found each other and at that point I would have been happier than a pig in slop! Lol!!! Kenya's character was sweet. Her character was on par with Brixton's (love that name by the way)
Please don't take this review as bashing or total dislike. I'm practically new to MC. I'm just on book 34 of her artistry. She has me lmao in one chapter or paragraph and boo-who'n in the next!!! She gon pull all the emotions out cha in 200 pages. This book was beautifully written. I just wanted a different character coupling outcome than what I got. I have read the Berottes, I have read 19 books of this series and moving on to 20, and then I plan on finding Noah, Sonya, Serita and all their books, and hope Nathaniel/Kai got a book, so Ms. Monica you gotta new fan in me!! You're penmanship and word play can't be messed with! Yall find her books and support!!

all mushy inside

I was hoping Nate got a book and a happy ending. As beautiful as Jess was she also made a mess of that man and it pissed me off! I needed for him to win in love while winning literally in his profession. His mama did him dirty too for selfish reasons and he really needed someone to put his feelings first and not fumble him.
The author expressed everything that I felt. Nate was the perfect emotionally intelligent man. The man resolved issues as quickly as possible, was considerate, kind, and had a soft heart for the women in his life. He loved hard, wholly and completely.
Now Kenya was my kind of girl. She was a no-nonsense type of sister. She was so trusting, wanting to believe that everyone had the same value as she did. Her ex did her dirty too! Who in the hell has to do all that traveling as a surgeon - aren’t you supposed to be saving lives?!?! But his loss was Nate’s gain because he got dropped quick, but not without drama on his part - the fool.
They moved fast as hell, tho, but it worked for them. They were two grown people who knew what they wanted. There was no need for procrastination or hesitancy, because they both refused to project past experiences onto each other. Open and honest communication and with their feelings. I respected it.
Amazing read!
Oh P.S.
Noah is the best big brother ever! So considerate. That tribute at the concert had me all up in my feelings! It was well done and well written by the author. Wonderful!
Storm still crazy!

Finally, Nate has gotten his HEA because Jess had my man out here looking like a simp in these literary streets 😩. Monica Walters had to come through with this book because that soft spot Nate held in my heart couldn't be filled by just any female and my girl Kenya was just what he needed!
If you’ve read any of my previous reviews you know I'm here for a good age-gap romance and I loved everything about this one. I wasn’t sure where this story would take me, but it was softer than previous books which I didn’t know I needed until I finished the book without a headache 🤦🏾‍♀️. I loved how this book progressed and how the issues were addressed head-on rather than letting them fester. I liked all the characters except Nate’s mama; she wrong and gone stay wrong in my eyes; taking accountability ain’t enough for me. I loved seeing the Hendersons again; they are always a good time and Uncle Mayor is still giving them hell 😂.
I couldn’t have asked for a better story for Nate and Kenya, I got to laugh, cry, smile, curse (a little bit), and just breathe… Monica usually has me clutching my pearls and holding my breath, so I thank her for this refreshing story. I wonder who is up next as there are so many possibilities.

Finally Nate got what he deserves….

It took me ages to actually get started on this book just because the whole Jess and Nate-pining-for-Jess storyline has annoyed me for several books now and I just didn’t think I could stomach a whole book with that plot. Because first of all Jess ain’t ish, it’s just as well she picked Brixton who matches that energy, and it’s annoyed me that lovely and wonderful sweet Nate was bordering on a problematic obsession and wouldn’t just stay away.

Anyway enter in the lovely Kenya who matches Nate’s energy and sweetness and was everything he needed. I kept waiting for their toxic fight moment that would require a big apology but they were both such delights to read. The openness, the vulnerability, the amount of care they demonstrated towards each other, yes they had some high spice chemistry but unlike some other books in this series, you never felt like that was all they had going for them. From being apprehensive about starting it, this ended up being one of my favourites in the series so far in the end. I’m glad I didn’t skip it and kept my streak of reading every book in this series going. Nate and Kenya are top favourites in this Henderson world!

Sorry Nate your fake brother ruined your book

Sorry, Nate. I couldn't push through with this book.

Had to check out at Noah's dedication to David. Daddy?? Are we supposed to pretend or forget he didn't abandon Noah and Raquel?

Smacking Sonya's 60 year old 🍑 and everyone was supposedly excited about it. FOH! Noah was and is a selfish self obsorbed pig.
(incert eyerolls)!!! I think I can't embrace Taz because of her connection to Noah.

Whenever she started "humming" or Noah's "spirituality" was mentioned in this book, I cringed. It came off as fake and unbelievable.

I read what, like 13 books trying to understand, like or redeem his character and actions chasing a woman who didn't or couldn't love him. Ultimately throwing away his marriage to no avail.

Now, poorNate's book/ story has been turned into the Noah and Taz show! What a waste!

Aye, please!

At the end of day 4 years from now the writer is going to dead this relationship anyway. Jess chose wrong. She knows it, We know it. There was no closure. It was just bad timing. A connection like they shared transcends time. They both needed to let go to grow and figure life out. They'll be back.

Sorry, Kenya.

I wasn’t expecting that!

I just knew I’d be upset throughout this book because Nate had it really bad for Jess and I thought she’d sneak and spin the block with how good Nate put it on her. They both had me so nervous. Now that Kenya has tasted that same dose of medicine, she ain’t coming up off it. But, I do like how she was willing to if he couldn’t get his feelings for Jess under control. Kenya displayed just what Nate needed to get past his past. How he got permission from Brix to speak with Jess was Fire! Kenya deserved all of Nate after her fiasco of a relationship and he gave her just that. The most Kenya had to deal with was Shiela, Nate’s hating mother. He put her as well in her place and she knew he meant it. Both got some kind of closure about their dads’ passings and can now relish in their flourishing and ever growing families. Great read!! One thing Monica is going to do is find someone love whether in their 20’s thru their 50’s. I need to head to Nome to find my forever.

I loved me some Nate and Kenya 🩷

I went into their story sort of blind. I didn’t read much of the synopsis beforehand, and I haven’t read any of the books that this one was spun off of.

Nate and Kenya’s story was swoon-worthy. I liked that they both were so sure of what they wanted, communicated it, and allowed themselves to free fall into it. Nate and Kenya’s story is almost as insta-love as you can get, with the exception of love at first sight.

After they officially got together and everything with Noah’s family happened and the stuff with Kenya’s family and then Nate’s mom being butthurt, I was like “oh, this is a lot to be happening in the first month of a relationship.” I wish y’all could’ve seen my face when after all this, Nate opened a paragraph with something along the lines of “ever since we made it official a week ago”. Girl 😅 that was a lot to be happening in a week. I would’ve needed to sit down and catch my breath lol.

But, again, I really liked Nate and Kenya’s story. If there’s a continuation of it, I’d check it out.

His one indeed💕

Finally! I’ve been waiting for Nate to get a shot of real love. I hated to see him pining away at Jessica, while she moved on and started a family elsewhere. I think Kenya fit him well. She was independent, yet all about her man. She was nurturer and poured into Nate from the beginning. I like how even with the pacing of their love affair that they reassured one another when necessary, and didn’t let outside forces influence them. Shelia needed therapy though because denying Nate of his father and then going into “overprotective, you ain’t taking my son” mode was overkill. I’m glad she got it together.

I’m also very happy that Nate and Jessica finally cleared the air—that conversation was long overdue. It was great getting a glimpse of the rest of the Henderson clan and good ol Uncle Mayor.

Be gentle with my heart

Nate's love for Jessica made it hard for him to move on with his life. Although she had made her choice with Brixton it was still hard for him to move on. When he met Kenya. He was mesmerized by her beauty but was doubting if he was capable of fully loving her. He also knew she was in a relationship and didn't want to fall in the same trap he had for Jessica.

Kenya was unhappy in her relationship with Arik. Him confessing his infidelity was all it took to end their relationship. She also was attracted to Nate. She was cautious with her heart after having it torn apart. She also knew of Nate's feelings for Jessica.
After spending time together a few times they both felt they were willing to take a chance on a relationship. They moved past all barriers meant to hold them back to make their love work.

It's Such A Great Thing When Your Pain Turns To Pleasure!

Monica, when I tell you I love your pen baby I really do. I love all your work but the Henderson clan and extended friends are my favorites. I am so glad Nate was able to finally find the right path for forgiveness and true love. I never thought his hurt would ease, Kenya, came in and had no idea the way her whole entire world would change from what she thought was real to really having a forever love.
This also was a lesson on letting go when your children are grown. Oh but Kenya is such a good example of thinking of others first. This was such a great lesson on taking a chance at something new and letting go of past hurts. 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗

Be still my 💜❤️💜💜💜💜

All I can say is I absolutely loved this story!!! Nate was such a sensitive old soul and it would take someone with a beautiful sensitive and clingy heart to be his equal. You brought back Noah, TAZ, and RJ for this book as well as Uncle Mayor, my heart is full. (Even though I'm still mad at you for breaking up Noah and Jah, but I understand). This book wasn't what I was expecting but it was well worth the wait. I cried when Nate met his Grandpa and when Noah lost his. Grandpa's are special. I finished this book in a couple of hours that's how good it was. I hope and pray that those of us who are true Rachelle Ferrell fans keep her in our prayers and go out and donate to her go fund me page. You did it again Ms. Walters!! Job well done!!

This was so beautiful!

Kenya had been thru it with Arik and Nate was still pining over Jess! They got together rather quickly and things just organically progressed. I was so glad Nate got to connect with Grandpa Guillory and even resolved the issues with Jess and fiance Brixton! Mama Sheila finally came around and accepted Kenya wasn't going anywhere and now in 3 short months they are on to the next level! I loved the feeling of this one, there was healing and restoration along with much growth! You did great Monica Walters! Read this one in a couple of hours! Can't wait to see what happens next!

Nate..... He needed that one and he found it in Kenya. His mom was really getting on my last nerves... You have to let go he is not a little boy but a grown ass man, Nate was not stupid he knew what his mom was doing and I loved how Noah got Nate's grandpa to Baltimore to meet him like RJ said Noah likes to do surprises. The Henderson's I love how they came with their Uncle Mayor my boo... The life of the party, the way Nate asked Brix if he could talk to Jessica just made me love him so much more cause that's what you call respect. Now he won MVP and getting ready to be a daddy too. Great Book Monica

My Man Nate🥰💗💓❤️‍🩹❤️‍🔥

Yes I could not wait for Nate’s story. Some Henderson fans may not agree with me, but Jess did my man dirty. Jessica knew she was going to choose Brixton back in book 16 yet she still chose to sleep with Nate knowing how he felt about her then just expect him to get over it and watch her live her life with someone else. I am so happy that my man found “HIS TRUE ONE”. His heart was to genuine and full of love, for him not not to have the same love and trust in return. Kenya was just what he needed. And of course our favorite “Uncle Mayor” has to make an appearance with his nonsense..lol. Who’s next RJ maybe…. I need more

Nate and Kenya, Love has Finally Come At Last

I was and am sooooo excited for this love adventure Nate is about to go on!!!…Finally having a love of his own and one with no competition definitely has him look like a different man!!!…
RJ and Noah were the biggest support for Nate during those moments those months he struggled to heal from the loss of Jessica in his life and I love that they didn’t judge him, but encouraged him and supported him during his moments of weakness!!!…
Kenya was a perfect fit for him and as rushed as their relationship seems, the orgasmic way they fit was not rushed at all!!!…I can not wait to see what becomes of their relationship, because this young man older woman relationship definitely makes me smile!!!…
I’m happy and he and Jessica has freed themselves from one another so they can bask in the relationship they are growing in!!!…

THE one

Whew, I was happy to see that Nate finally got over Jess. Though I thought that Jess was going to do something stupid and mess up her relationship with Brix. Nate had a lot of underlying issues, especially with his mama not being forthcoming regarding his father. Nate really needed to know his where he came from and what was ahead of him. Noah being his brother was a real plus and really kept him grounded. Nate needed Kenya in his life , she was strong, independent and could hold her own for sure. There's no time limit on love!

Second chance at a greater love❣️

And another AMAZING Henderson Family Saga! ✨

Nate is such a loving, family oriented man that TRULY puts his woman first! Who wouldn't want him? Well the one he yearned so immensely for, chose someone else. I know, unbelievable, right??

Oh but when someone is truly "your one", there is no time limits or boundaries on what is meant to be. This is a story about Nate getting a chance at the love he so rightfully deserves... With "The" one that was destined for him.

It's a great read! Get into it! 💖💃🏾

Well done Author Monica Walters!

My kind of love!

I loved Nate!! He is definitely one of the most emotional mature male characters I have ever read about. From the way he knew how to deal with Jessica, the way he had to politely check his mama and especially the way he wasn't afraid to express himself to Kenya. Kenya was really the perfect match for Nate. I know author Monica Walters didn't mention birthdays/zodia signs but if I had to guess I think both main characters were water signs. Their relationship flows effortlessly.

And to have it reciprocated to the level that he gave it was even better! Nate and Kenya deserved each other! Their love although swift was BEAUTIFUL! I enjoyed every minute of their budding romance! Beautiful Love 🥰

This book is what I call a good palate cleanser. Perfect man, perfect woman. Well, "perfect for each other."
Doing grown folks ish... communicating and working through issues. Squashing all mess quickly. They didn't let past experiences control their present or future. I love Nate's confidence in their relationship. I love Kenya's willing to trust Nate and believe in the flow of their relationship. She fit in well with the Hendersons and didn't match energies with his mother. This book was a beautiful expression of what love could be. Couple goals! 😄

I enjoyed the love story in this book. Glad Nate was able to get over Jessica and Kenya over Eric and his trifling *ss. Its crazy when you are with someone and they are so not willing to ley go and move on to the point where you need to get a restraining order on that person but things happen and I am glad everyone was able to be Adult about their situations. Loved how Nate loved on Kenya and that bad blood was able to switch to good. Definitely recommending this book and others. Narrators for the audiobook did a great job and I will be listening to more books in the Henderson Family. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
