All were-mountain-lion Melody Marx ever wanted was to find her mate and start a family. After being rescued from her own people by two mountain lions, she knows that she’s found not just one mate, but two. She goes with them to their old home in Pennsylvania, but finds an even chillier reception than she found in Ashland.
Tristan and Micah Harrison would do anything to keep Melody safe, even if it means walking away from the Ashland Pride and their own family forever. When problems arise in their hometown of King, Pennsylvania, it turns out that the males aren’t the only ones who don’t approve of their mating.
Be prepared for two males with plans to hold onto their mate forever, a female searching for a place to call home, and an enemy who is always looking for new ways to wreak havoc in the males’ lives. This book contains sweet males, a feisty female, and m/f/m interaction.
This truly was my fave book in this series so far. The introduction of a new series of shifter, the return of Jilly, and finally an answer to why the female mountain lions are like they are. The mystery is about to be solved. We had a brief glimpse of the two brothers in the second book to the series and i knew then that i would love them. Melody also was easy to love and while she tended to show her tender, caring side she still showed that she can be tough and protect those she loves when there is need. Excited for the next book in the series.
I am really enjoying this series and loved the different were groups being introduce. I loved this one and liked that jilly got brought back I hope she gets her own book eventually. Can't wait for the next one.
What Is It About: Melody is a female mountain lion that was kept away from the influence of the other females and she's stayed a loving, caring woman. When she hears of the plan to hurt Lachlyn, she escapes and helps keep her safe. But the male lions don't know what's going on and lock her up. Knowing she's their mate and unlike the other women, Tristan and Micach help her escape and take her to meet her uncles in the King Pride that they'd left. Even though Melody's a mountain lion, the females hate her relationship with her, find her unnatural and they plan to capture her and make sure no other female lion ends up like her.
What I Liked and Didn't: I'm a little on the fence about a few parts of this story. I wasn't too fond of the fact that Melody's so "special" and "unique" because I prefer more relatable main characters and that makes the character a bit too hard to get into. But she does help the male lions realise that they can keep their daughters away from the females and they'll stay loving. Another one is that I'm happy that it's finally explained why the female mountain lions are so uncaring even though they aren't born that way. But I don't like the choice of explaination. The idea of gods and goddesses suddenly being brought in when there's been no mention of their existence in any of the linked series that I've read just doesn't make sense to me. I would have preferred something different, or even the same idea but a witch instead of a goddess. It was just a bit much. I read this book yesterday and can't even tell you anything about the two men in this story, so I'll just skip right over that. My favourite part of this book wasn't even Melody's romance, it was Jilly's. Jilly is a female mountain lion that left her father and brother as soon as she'd turned sixteen. She runs into two panthers and discovers they're her mates but that goes against everything that the females have taught her over the years. Their romance was way better than Melody's and sweeter. Plus Melody never really interacted with the females while Jilly was converted and lived with them for years, so I feel like Jilly falling in love is a much more interesting story than Melody.
Final Thoughts: I think that out of the series so far this is my favourite book. The romance of both Melody and Jilly makes it double the story of the other books while finally answering questions about the female mountain lions. But I still think that I would have preferred Jilly to have her own book. Would I recommend it? I don't think that I would. Will I be carrying on the series? I'm curious about the albino panther and Rue's story so I'll give it a go.
Melody is a were mountain lion raised by her dad away from the female mountain lion and any other pride mates when her father died he sends her to find her uncles in Kings but on the way she is taken prisoner by the female and taken to Canada she excapes only to find out the males don't believe she any different then the other evil females. Silver lining is she finds her mate's Tristan and Micah and meet her uncles but nothing seems to go smooth for her. Jilly a female mountain lion rats her out to the others in the area. Then she meet her mate's twins Fate and Wyked black panther shifters. Oh and we get to find out the mystery of why the females are so cold but you will have to read to see just how that happened and how melody and jilly's life turn out with thier mates lol I loved the characters. Great action, mystery, intrigue, suspense, drama, betrayal and more. It's a little rushed at times but wow the author pack so much into the story. And even though I read the last book first lol I love seeing how things unfolded. Can't wait for the next book Voluntarily reviewed a copy and I honestly loved it.
In this book you actually learn why the female mountain lions are mean, vicious & have no empathy for anyone.
There’s a beginning of a young relationship that starts in this book & probably finishes in a book of their own & then there’s the story that of Melody, Micah & Tristan.
Melody was raised by her father & away from the female mountain lions & so she wasn’t uncaring or vicious but, some of the older generation didn’t believe her & locked her up in a room. Micah & Tristan immediately felt connected to her the moment they scented her & saw her; but, again the older generation didn’t believe them. So, Micah & Tristan greed Melody from her “prison” & left with her.
This is the beginning of their story & you’ll have to read the rest to find out what happens.
This is the third book in this series and is amazing. Its Melody, Tristan and Micah's story. When she first showed up and helped save Lachlyn the other lions didn't believe she was there to help and locked her up in a room. Tristan and Micah both know she's their mate. They will do anything they can to protect her so they helped her get away and leave. They go back to their hometown and meets her uncles for the first time. Its a lot worse than Ashland is for sure. There they get an even more unwelcome threat. Then we also find out why the female lions are the way they are and its surprising to say the least. This one has so much heart ache and anguish in it for what they go through but also heart warming and a ton of happiness that will melt your heart.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 - I LOVE THIS AUTHOR!! What a whirlwind! Melody’s journey to finding her two mates, Tristan and Micah, is filled with emotional twists and heartwarming moments. The trio’s chemistry is electric, and I adored how Melody grows through the story, gaining confidence and learning to trust her mates. I was really invested in their fight to protect Melody, especially when the outside world poses such a threat to their connection. The emotional depth is fantastic, and the love between the characters feels so genuine. The love triangle dynamic adds layers of tension and excitement, keeping the pages turning.
An enjoyable read that gives us a huge answer and another tri mating and also sends us back to the town of King. What a twist it was to get Jilly back and for her to find her two mates in nomadic panthers. We also get to find out why the female mountain lions behave as they do. It still doesn’t negate how vicious and depraved they are. Hope something is done soon to sort them out but I fear most will not be changed due to the wording used. Read and reviewed previously but review missing.
One female comes home and another finds her way back to the pride! Loads of back ground info how the females became nasty. Another wonderful journey with the Ashland pride, a little more violent than the first two, but worth it!
I enjoyed the first 2 books in this series, so I purchased the rest of them. This book I had a hard time getting through it. R.E. Butler is one of my favorites, however, this book was not one I could get in to. A little too sweet for my taste 😉
Melody Marxis a Female Mountain-Lion. She is not like the other females of her kind. Her father took her as a baby and disappeared, not wanting her to end up like the other females. As she try's to warn the pack in Ashland, she is caught and imprisoned in a closet. Tristan and Micah Harrison brothers and part of the Ashland Pack relize she is their mate. They release and run with her. She soon meets her uncles and has to overcome what all males think they know about a Female Mountain-Lions. Enter into the picture Jilly who is used as a spy for the females. She is about to open everything there was to know about Female Mountain-Lions and find her 2 mates in the process. The Female Mountain-Lions are not about to let either woman have a safe and happy life. Their families will do everything to save them from the Female Mountain-Lions.
As always with a book from R.E. Butler the reader is not to be disappointed. This book is a page turner and will draw you in so as you have to remember to breathe , set book down walk around just to get your self ready for what is next in this book! I stayed up most of night just to finish this book. Sleepless was so worth it!!

Were-lion Melody Marx knows she is different than other felines, where most felines of her nature are uncaring and aloof, she is dedicated to those she loves. When Melody is rescued after being held as a captive for saving another, she realizes quickly she has found her mates.
Tristan and Micah Harrison realize very quickly that Melody is different than the other women they have met that are lions. There job as her mates is to love and protect her, but when people from their own town spurn her because she is a feline lion they need to decide if they will go or stay?
I was a bit torn on this one, has another story that is a surprise that develops from another character from the first book. Overall good story but it was a bit too smooth for Micah, Tristan and Melody in the acceptance of mates. Good story but I think I liked the complexity of the first two books more.
Chasing Melody is the story of a sweet shifter, her mates and trouble from cruel women who are living out an ancient curse. This is the 3rd book in the series. Finally a start into understanding the cruel behavior of women against the males of their species and why girls for generations have become cold and cruel to their males. While this story line has a happy ending it leaves us with more questions needing answers.I am sure that means that R.E. Butler has another stor y coming. Yeah for that. She is a wonderful story teller.
Great addition to the Ashland Pride series. The story picks up right were Loving Lachlyn leaves us. There's plenty of action and intrigue. I loved the reunions and revelations that happen in this book. The introduction of a new clan of Panthers is well done. Characters from the previous two books are still in the storyline. I would have liked a little more interaction between the old and new characters, but still thoroughly enjoyed hearing from them once again. I'm so looking forward to the next book in the series. Recommended author and series
This story is wonderful. I highly recommend reading. R.E. Butler introduction of a new shifter for more to her series or a new series. The story brought the whole series together in this one book. You got to be reminded of each of the books. Tristin and Micah of the Ashland pride rescue Melody from their family and head to King to her Uncles. In king they have no better luck. Jilly comes in to town & sees Melody. Jilly figures Melody for a mountain lion female. After Jilly calls the other females to alert to Melody arrival she goes in the woods & meets 2 males, Wyked & Fate, Her mates.
What I really liked in this third installment of the Ashland Pride series is that we got to see more of what makes these female lion shifters such bitches.
I'm anxious to see what happens with Jilly and to see if we have any others who break out of the hold of the pride.
" Most Amazing Shifter Series!!" The story line of this book is Amazing! . The Characters are brilliant! . There is so much suspense, humor, and action along with fantastic Romance :) . You will love this book!. The whole series is awesome. Each book just gets better and that is the best kind of series! :) . If you love a menage this series is for you :) . This book will hold you till the very last page, and leave you wanting more of them to read. R.e is a amazing person and Author. I know you will love all her books ! :) .
I was very excited to read the latest release from author R.E. Butler and was pleasantly surprised to learn more about the female lions and why they act the way they do. Even though this is Melody's story, we also get a new story blended in. I won't go into details because that would give too much away, but I will say that I like where R.E. took this latest book. R.E. has joined the ranks of my auto-buy list.
Oooo I liked this one. I don't want to spoil the fun but I loved the turn things take with the female lions. If you've been reading this series you probably think there couldn't be any surprises after reading the end of the last book but there is a nice little surprise and a trip to King and back again to Ashland and nasty lions and doubters and love in unexpected places and family reunion. I know I sound like a gushing fan, that would be because I am. Fun read!
I love the Ashland pride and ogre shifters in this series. When u meet melody in the end of the last book u knew a lot was going to be revealed. I'm glad we got some answer to the mystery of female lioness and why they were mean and heartless. In this book you don't just get the story of the Harrison brother and melody but a second story happens as well which makes it even more exciting. Love every word and can't wait for next book.
Love this series with these protective mountain lions =] Was a fun little twist to add Jilly's story and even more exciting to read about what makes the females tick =D So creative in the explanation of why they are as they are. Can't wait till book four but to be honest I'm really curious to see the story for Scarlet, Melody's friend. A fun read and only complaint would be that some info in the story was repeated a few times too many for my taste but the overall read was Awesome =D
Because she didn't grow up around mountain lions she doesn't act anything like the females. She wants to find her uncles because that's what her dad said she should do when he passed. She was kidnapped by the females until she finally got a chance to get away. Along the way she finds her mates and a pride, after a whole lot of problems. We also find out that Jilly has found her mates which changes her attitude completely. This is a fun hot read. Enjoy I did. This is a reread.
Rereading and remembered to review this go round. The story picks up where Lachlyn ended. Micha and Tristan take Mekody, their mate to King to reunite her with her uncles . Their arrival doesn't go unnoticed, the females in hiding plot to kidnap Melody. The females run into trouble when one of their own finds her mates and finds a way to reunite with her family in Ashland. A great story, fun fast paced and syeamy!.
Marking Melody was great, I enjoyed reading it from beginning to end. There were a lot of surprises in this book that I totally did not expect. I loved it, it was sweet, hot, romantic, intense, and sexy. I am looking forward to Redeeming Rue where James and John finally get their woman to love and share.
