It is extremely unusual for me to DNF a book, especially if I have been generously provided with an advanced copy for review. However, I have also read enough books to know when something is not for me, and when I have written over 4 pages of notes, none of which are positive I know it’s time to call it a day.
As such I will keep this brief and constructive.
Unfortunately I found the plot lacked direction or any real depth, the characters needed development both in their backgrounds and personalities, and I found them all as a whole pretty unlikeable.
The writing style didn’t gel at all for me, some examples below –
with his piercing gray eyes on me I feel like a brick wall. Unmoving, but breakable just from his glare.
I couldn’t close my eyes last night. Not one second did I sleep. One moment I was thinking about Hunter so much I thought I was dreaming, but of course I wasn’t. Sometimes I even wondered if he was awake too.
I bite my lip as I almost see him think. He’s staring at his table, probably mulling over his words, over what is happening in his life.
It just doesn’t look good, but I can’t say what it is either. I didn’t see anything, but I know it’s not cool. But I don’t want to worry anyone without proof.
Hunters eyes meet mine. His piercing gray eyes zoom in on me, and he starts to squint the moment he realizes it’s me.
When that guy passes up, I pretend I’m eating some lettuce and stuff my mouth full of it. As he leaves, I almost choke on the huge amount of food in my mouth.
As you can see I went a little highlighting crazy, (and this is just a portion of what I covered in the part that I read). The story has potential, but it’s just not for me. As this is only my opinion, I am sure there will be plenty of others that will love it.
Also, one final question, I am from the UK and we break our school year down into terms, I am pretty sure in the US/Canada it is a semester, can anyone tell me where school years are broken up into trimesters? I have only ever associated this word with pregnancy before....

I liked this but not sure how much mixed feelings
I was actually dyin for this book after I read Fight the 0.5 book an I really enjoy that an this started out good I liked that Autumn was getting to start a new life after what she put with in high school she had her best friend Evie with her an her best friend Brody how is a few years older than her an hasnt seen in a while she wasn't goin to try an keep her head down an study an do well she needed a good job to help with things at home but things but a bit blurry when she meet the very sexy Hunter but she knew what he was like he had the look of a bad boy the smug grin the girls watched everything he did an he had probably slept with the lot so she normally stayed away from this types she hadnt had a good experience with them but there was something about him that just drawn her in even if she fought it so hard
I did enjoy this book but I found it a lil boring in parts it dragged I was dyin to know what was goin on the middle part seemed to just drag but then when it got to a good part it was over so quick an I wanted more of them parts I did like Autumn's character but god is she stubborn in this book I found that she wasn't at like she was in Fight the 0.5 book an I m glad she got stronger in this book but she was a lil frustrating in parts I really luvd Hunters character he is very sexy an was a great character he was into stuff he shouldn't but there was reason for him doin it an I did like that an it made me like him his character more
There was a few shocking moments in the last 15-10% of the book I really didn't c it coming which when it happened I couldn't believe it I actually would of luvd more of this storyline the ending felt a lil rushed but overall it was a good story an I dyin to know what's goin to happen in the next books to this series xxx

This book was pure cover lust. Who doesn't love a sexy, ripped cover and the hint of a fighter in the story?
Well, sorry- but all I got from this book was the sexy hot cover. The book which I set down multiple times and almost DNF it so many times. In fact, I gave up and then finally decided to plow through and I gave it the old Hunter Bane try and finished it.
I wanted Hunter Bane to be amazing and wonderful and all alpha male. But instead he was a crying baby, who took drugs, and got into fights because is illegal frat told him to. That didn't sound like a strong fighter, that to me was a fool who can't think for himself and is so not the anti-hero.
But, add on top of that Leafy, aka Autumn- who is the stereotypical nerd virgin who is madly in love with Hunter and wants forever. She was just so stupid in what she did, i.e. interrupting a drug deal, breaking up fights, etc. Who does that when they are supposedly so intelligent? I rolled my eyes so much ready this book I gave myself a migraine.
Nothing in this book worked for me, the story was choppy and made no sense. The plot and the reveal also was anti-climatic. Just nothing worked for me.

Autumn is heading off to college looking for a new experience from the years spent being the geek in high school. But when she finds herself in an embarrassing moment with the hottest guy she’s laid eyes on, her thoughts that college will turn out different slowly drift away.
Hunter is a little dark and mysterious, but there is something about this bad boy that doesn’t seem all that bad. When Autumn finds herself drawn to him after a few encounters she can’t help but fall for him.

I was on the fence about 15% into this particular book on whether or not I would finish it. I typically won’t DNF a book. I’ll put it down and come back to it later (even if it gets shelved for months), but with an ARC I try to push through it.
I was looking forward to this particular story based on the cover (which I absolutely loved) and the blurb looked appealing. But that is pretty much where it stopped. I couldn’t really find anything about the characters that I could relate or connect to; there was not much in the way of their back-story that gives you any real insight into who they were. Being freshmen in college, I expected some immaturity but the behavior of how they (Autumn and Evie) reacted to situations around them just seemed as if they were more like freshmen in high school (and completely sheltered).
The plot overall had potential. But the story was just not deep enough to get sucked into what was going on. As an example, Autumn sees Hunter once, has a short conversation with him at her dorm, sits next to him in class and finds him in the hallway and they have conversation with a handful of words. By this time, she is already in love with the guy and wants to know why he won’t share his secrets.
I think had the characters been more developed and the story wasn’t so instant-everything, the plot itself could have held up the story a bit. But for me, this just was missing the mark. There are a lot of reviews out there that are giving this one high ratings, so please remember we all read our own book and come away with our own opinions.

3 "I so was hoping for more" stars
I started this book with high hopes. After all the cover is amazing and the characters were right for the type of reads I enjoy. Autumn was more than just the shy girl who was unsure of herself, she was actually a self described nerd, wore glasses and had few friends. Enter Hunter who is your typical hot muscled bad boy. I never really got why he fell for Autumn, or his Leafy as he calls her.
Honestly, not understanding the attraction, was only one problem for me with this book. There was so much crazy going on that I never could really believe half the things that were taking place. Crazy-drug-dealing-illegal-fight-club-frats, best-friend-but-I-secretly-love-you-lesbian-roomates. I just became a little too much. Unfortunately, I never got connected to the characters either. Hunter had the most potential with his background of learning disability, poor and broken family, but other times I found him to be a complete jerk. I did not find him to be swoon worthy based on character, based on his body and looks, sure but that was it.
I don't know, perhaps I am being too critical, but I just didn't feel it and at some points I was ready to just start skimming. As a fighter-fix junkie, this one just didn't knock me out.

Sigh.. I don't know how to say this, I liked this book.
But that's it. I just liked it.
I almost DNF at one stage.
Long story short?
Autumn is your run of the mill nerd. Spends all her time studying trying to be the best she can be for her parents, and missing out on life because of it.
Hunter is your typical bad boy.
Only problem is?
Autumn really is a lame nerd. who whinges a lot.
Hunter has about 14% bad boy in him. The part that sells drugs.
The rest of it is just a cover up and he was a bit of a normal guy.
The huge reveal as to Hunters past? and who the bad guy really was?
Really not all that huge and kinda left me with an anti-climax face.
Honestly I didn't really like Autumn, or Hunter, or Evie or Brody, or Scarlet.
and I freaking hated the nickname "Leafy". Just didn't work for me.

Tthis book had an interesting premise. Hero isn't the ultimate can do no wrong bad boy and that's unusual for this genre. Heroine had potencial as did the story in general. At 388 pages, this could have gone so different as the author had the outline for a good book.
However, the character development was weak. Background and set up was almost non existent. Various subplots weren't utilized to benefit the story and scenes fizzled before revealing. A majority of the secondary character we saw where nothing more then fodder. The dialogue, especially Autumn, was bi polar. She was the innocent Mary Sue one minute then cussed like a sailor the next. Adjectives were abused and repeating.
So, I'm going to give it 2 stars as it entertained enough to get me to finish it.

Ok, it is very very very RARE that I want to rage on a book. I am one of those people that just reads for fun. I a lot of the time enjoy books that NONE of my friends do and just allow the story to envelop me as a whole.
Then there came Fierce, which turned me into a ragey beast woman, who actually questioned the whole of the publishing world for a moment.
Now, I'm not anti-self publishing.
I'm very PRO self publishing and read loads of self published authors and support, share, wrap them up in my own personal fangirl blanket and nourish them.
However, I feel like there are some authors that don't listen to ANYTHING. I even question if they hired editors, because no WAY editor would let slide, the type of stuff that was in this book.
Let me explain.
I was going to read this whole book. Honestly, if I'm gonna rage, I want the full encompassing reason to rage. However, I couldn't. I just could not waste another second on a book that was so poorly constructed. Some may call this a 'bully review' Ok, I'll let you have my bully review and I'll raise you head hopping, poorly constructed characters, and internal dialogue that sounded like I read reading Dr. Seuss.
You can go ahead and say I'm being mean.
That's fantastic for you that you loved this book. I thought I would too, the little teaser images were very misleading. As was the blurb.
You get this big impression that this is a story about the a-typical virgin and this awesomely alpha cage fighter.
Um, NO!
Most of the characters are stupid. They are made even more stupid when their inner dialogue sounds like "No I do not like green eggs and ham, I do not like them sam I am."
I'm really NOT playing this up, I have examples:
"I mean, I've known for a long time people don't really like to sit next to me. I don't really care about the reason. I don't care at all that they don't want to sit next to me. I like being on my own. I have Evie. Enough friends for me." 22% Loc. 791
Does she smell bad? Does she have bad breath? Does she has some sort of deformity that is repelling people? People just don't, not want to sit next to you, most people don't care!
"His words make my insides broil." 22% Loc. 814
Broil? Really? You sure you want to use this word?
"But I don't come any closer. I don't move one muscles." 23% Loc.827
I do not like green eggs and ham, I do not like them sam I am.
"My groin clenches, and my clit thumps." 23% Loc. 842
I just... I can't... Yeah....
"I want to give them back what they gave to me, and this is the only way to do it.
I want to help them. I want to give back to them." 25% loc. 916
You sure? You want to give back to them. I'm not quite clear, you didn't quite SAY IT ENOUGH IN THREE SENTENCES!
"I gasp. "Oh my God! You've read Harry Potter? God, it's been ages since I last saw that book." 36% loc. 1278
Ages? Really? Since Harry Potter? The damned last movie JUST came out on free on demand and they still have a Harry Potter display in every Barnes and Noble. Ages you say? What are we doing here. I don't understand. I was close to done at this point anyways.
So, those are a FEW of my examples. However, the author likes to post on kindle boards were are all lying meanies and she didn't write these things. So I made sure to include the percent and the location on my kindle.
I'm not done. Not by a long shot.
So, like I said we got lied to in all these fantastical teasers. Hunter. This highly marketed Alpha Male? HA! No! Hunter spends 99.9% of his time beat up, limping into his dorm, and grunting like a cave man. Grunting does not an alpha male make. Top that off when the other 1% when he's acting human. He's just dumb. Like meat head worst kind of male dumb.
Then we have Autumn. This self professed virgin and geek. Well, she doesn't act like a geek. She just acts like a doormat that allows her, lesbian? BFF to control every other friendship she has other than her own, so she can keep Autumn in her little bubble so she can secret lust after her?
This storyline is there, just really really poorly done. The storyline is just that though. You have no effing clue what is going on 99.9% of the time. And the romance? Nope, there is NO ROMANCE! The characters act one way one page then totally different the other. None of the secondary characters are even likable for you to give a crap about them. Ok, I'm done, if I missed anything, I'm sure another reviewer will pick it up. It has been awhile since I read this and to be honest, I'm shocked I remembered as much as I did. I think my anger kept it fresh in my brain.

Ok, it is very very very RARE that I want to rage on a book. I am one of those people that just reads for fun. I a lot of the time enjoy books that NONE of my friends do and just allow the story to envelop me as a whole.
Then there came Fierce, which turned me into a ragey beast woman, who actually questioned the whole of the publishing world for a moment.
Now, I'm not anti-self publishing.
I'm very PRO self publishing and read loads of self published authors and support, share, wrap them up in my own personal fangirl blanket and nourish them.
However, I feel like there are some authors that don't listen to ANYTHING. I even question if they hired editors, because no WAY editor would let slide, the type of stuff that was in this book.
Let me explain.
I was going to read this whole book. Honestly, if I'm gonna rage, I want the full encompassing reason to rage. However, I couldn't. I just could not waste another second on a book that was so poorly constructed. Some may call this a 'bully review' Ok, I'll let you have my bully review and I'll raise you head hopping, poorly constructed characters, and internal dialogue that sounded like I read reading Dr. Seuss.
You can go ahead and say I'm being mean.
That's fantastic for you that you loved this book. I thought I would too, the little teaser images were very misleading. As was the blurb.
You get this big impression that this is a story about the a-typical virgin and this awesomely alpha cage fighter.
Um, NO!
Most of the characters are stupid. They are made even more stupid when their inner dialogue sounds like "No I do not like green eggs and ham, I do not like them sam I am."
I'm really NOT playing this up, I have examples:
"I mean, I've known for a long time people don't really like to sit next to me. I don't really care about the reason. I don't care at all that they don't want to sit next to me. I like being on my own. I have Evie. Enough friends for me." 22% Loc. 791
Does she smell bad? Does she have bad breath? Does she has some sort of deformity that is repelling people? People just don't, not want to sit next to you, most people don't care!
"His words make my insides broil." 22% Loc. 814
Broil? Really? You sure you want to use this word?
"But I don't come any closer. I don't move one muscles." 23% Loc.827
I do not like green eggs and ham, I do not like them sam I am.
"My groin clenches, and my clit thumps." 23% Loc. 842

"I want to give them back what they gave to me, and this is the only way to do it.

You sure? You want to give back to them. I'm not quite clear, you didn't quite SAY IT ENOUGH IN THREE SENTENCES!

Ages? Really? Since Harry Potter? The damned last movie JUST came out on free on demand and they still have a Harry Potter display in every Barnes and Noble. Ages you say? What are we doing here. I don't understand. I was close to done at this point anyways.
So, those are a FEW of my examples. However, the author likes to post on kindle boards were are all lying meanies and she didn't write these things. So I made sure to include the percent and the location on my kindle.
I'm not done. Not by a long shot.
So, like I said we got lied to in all these fantastical teasers. Hunter. This highly marketed Alpha Male? HA! No! Hunter spends 99.9% of his time beat up, limping into his dorm, and grunting like a cave man. Grunting does not an alpha male make. Top that off when the other 1% when he's acting human. He's just dumb. Like meat head worst kind of male dumb.
Then we have Autumn. This self professed virgin and geek. Well, she doesn't act like a geek. She just acts like a doormat that allows her, lesbian? BFF to control every other friendship she has other than her own, so she can keep Autumn in her little bubble so she can secret lust after her?
This storyline is there, just really really poorly done. The storyline is just that though. You have no effing clue what is going on 99.9% of the time. And the romance? Nope, there is NO ROMANCE! The characters act one way one page then totally different the other. None of the secondary characters are even likable for you to give a crap about them. Then the BFF is running off with this chick randomly and leaving Autumn alone then yelling at her when she finds out Autumn was with Hunter.

It was OK – not great – but readable till the end. I had some problems with the characters and how they didn’t stay “true to form”. For example, Autumn was supposed to be a shy virgin but in turn she was getting into trouble and putting her 2 cents in left and right. While Hunter was supposed to be this big bad Alpha guy….while the only badness in him was his mood swings and his constant changing of his mind.
I was also confused in what exactly Hunter was involved in. It may have been me and my feeble mind but I just didn’t get it. Was it a frat? Was it a gang? And why the hell would he bring Autumn into the middle of it? Just to shut her up?
In all actuality – to sum this up – the story needed to flow and it fell short of coming together and fitting properly. The premise of the story is good – Bad boy, virgin girl, dickhead old friend, drugs, addicts, death, secret love F/F, fighting etc. It just seemed to me to be all over the place.
I hate doing these reviews and it kills me but as I always believe – “honesty is the best policy”.

Unfortunately my review is not a good one. When I read the blurb I thought it was going to be enjoyable. I was wrong. The characters aren't particularly likable despite their best efforts. The timeline is all over the place and doesn't make sense in places. The fact that every time Autumn sees Hunter she has to go into gushing descriptions of what he looks like is really distracting and if I had to read one more time about how her clit or pussy or nub throbbed and her folds got wet, if I had had a paperback copy of this book it would have been thrown across the room.
The concept is good, nerdy girl meets bad guy, thinks she can tame him/change him and it all comes good in the end but the actual story is slap-hazard at best. Autumn is naïve but not in an interesting way. She comes from a poor background and her parents worked hard and saved so she could go to college. Her best-friend Evie is in love with her and although she knows she chooses to ignore it, hoping nothing will happen to change their friendship.
Hunter comes from a poor background too. His brother sold drugs to get the money for him to go to college. He seems to have anger issues and admits to having a learning disability but this is glossed over.
When Autumn finds out what Hunter is really up to, instead of listening to him she ends up endangering him and herself. She also tells his secrets to her friend which everyone knows is a really big no-no, you never dish your boyfriend/girlfriends secrets.
All in all, this is a good idea that didn't get translated from the authors brain to paper very well.

It's very rare that I ever feel motivated to right a negative review. However, this time I feel it's my duty as a reviewer to constructively make it aware to the author that this book needs a lot of work.
Frankly, as soon as I started reading I knew it was going to need more—more depth, more character development, and frankly more and better planning of the story itself. Although the premise has potential, Autumn and Hunter were poorly written. I couldn't discern their personalities. They're so all over the place that I couldn't keep them straight. Autumn is supposed to be a shy, and geeky kind of girl...or so I thought. And with Hunter, his mood swings could possible give a reader whiplash.
This book should be edited by a really good team of editors that can smooth out these mistakes.
In terms of the story and development, by the time I got to 80% I still had not really understood what the hell Hunter was involved in. It should have been made clear before the climax.

As they begin to spend time together she falls for him even as she learns of his dark side and what he does when they are not together. She's determined to save him, but at what price and how long will she last in his world?
Autumn is a shy geek, away from the meanness of high school she is blosoming and growing into who she really is. As the story unfolds we see her turn from quite and unsure, to standing up for what she wants no matter the cost. Hunter is an awsome guy once you look past what you expect of him you see that everything he does is for those he cares about. This is a story about growing up and learning about what's really out there in the world beyond what you usually see and what you expect.

Autumn has to be one of the dumbest heroines I’ve read in awhile. Each page was like one stupid move, one right after the last. There was not much storyline happening either just a whole lot of thrown together drama that was just bad. The heroine immediately becomes obsessed (stalker obsessed) with the hero after seeing him once and just sort of inserts herself into his life. Even after getting attacked herself by people in the heroes life, she still rushes headfirst into what appears to be a drug deal. Yep, she just inserts herself right in, passing judgment and expecting answers when she’s maybe known the hero for days. There is no growth to their relationship, no real getting to know one another and everything was just weird between them even the sex. I can see why the book has such low ratings and I definitely won’t be reading on.

The interesting about this story is the dynamics between them...
Autumn is new in college. First year of English Lit. She only knows two people : her roommate Evie, and Brody, a friend of the former high school.
On the day of her arrival at college, Autumn passes through a difficult having her skirt lifted and various tree leaves stuck in her hair because of a wind. This was a perfect excuse to Hunter started to call her as Leafy.
Of course Autumn noticed how gorgeous Hunter is, but she is fully aware that guys like him do not approach girls like her. She has suffered enough bullying in the old school to learn this lesson .
The good news is that as she and Hunter have several hours of similar classes, he always sits next to her, unlike the rest of the classmates that often change places when she approaches.
Hunter realized in Autumn something she herself did not know: she was that kind of good girl who was afraid to take chances, but was eager to break some rules. And he was the best example...
Even if you told me, I still wouldn't leave. I always go against the rules.That's why you want me (Hunter)
Meanwhile, Autumn saw him that despite spending a bad boy image, with his leather jacket and his face bruised from fights, he was a good guy, involved with the wrong people.
Throughout the growing involvement of them, a whole full of drama and suspense plot. Passions revealed, breach of trust, discovery of secrets.
Hunter awakens in Leafy her wild side, adventurer; she awakens in him the calm and confidence that better days will come. And so they will be shaping the perfect match.
The book brings some more spicy and with a modern and appropriate language to the plot, with reference to homosexuality, violence and drug trafficking, therefore inadvisable for younger audience.
And the best: no cliffhanger. It ends here and now.
Good pace, no rush.
Modern and accessible language. I felt connected with the characters from the beginning.
Positive point: the reader realizes well the concerns of the main character and her maelstrom of emotions. And the end was wonderful. Amazingly surprise!
Negative point: Hunter's grounds (and secret) were so well kept that when it was revealed on perfet time, it made the end of the book so wonderful. So, I think if there was a focus on his point of view, the surprise would be broken. On the other hand, I missed to know more what he thought about Autumn. Why from the beginning she did he feels well .
A couple with so many problems and flaws than perfection, and exactly because of that, so charismatic.

A surprising and fiery New Adult book. Hunter Bane and Autumn Blakewood are an awesome new couple.
I must say, I am happy this couple had so many problems. It resembled a true to life, real couple. It wasn't all sex, and it wasn't all happiness. They had their problems and I loved it!
Hunter was truly cocky and threw out so many innuendos! I loved it! He was so... true to life. The only thing I didn't like was how this book was a happily ever after. It isn't that I don't like HEA, but if you think about it, would that really happen in a case like this? It is very rare.
It was nice that Clarissa Wild wrote from a nerd's point of view. I loved that because I rarely read a nerd. Generally my POV's I read are either incredibly cocky (and hot!) boys, or girls. The girls are generally friendly and have many friends so I don't see them being nerds much.
The thing with this book is that it is a girl in college and so things change quite a bit for High School to College, but Autumn still seemed like a true to life nerd. She stayed home (at the dorm) and did her studying like a good girl. She never broke the law or any rule. When she met Hunter, she broke a few rules and some laws. I enjoyed seeing her change.
The only thing I would change in this book is Autumn's best friend being a lesbian. I think it would be awesome if there was another book on Evie with a guy, like one of Hunter's friends. It would just open opportunity's for more books, is all.
I wasn't a huge fan of the cover when I first saw it, but after reading the book, I realize it ties in with it! I love that the author made it tie in with the book! I haven't read many books with covers from a scene in the book.
I must say, for a virgin, Autumn was quite vulgar and sometimes I was slightly disturbed by it, but it didn't make me like the book any less. Hunter seemed to be the same way, but wasn't vocal with it (nether was Autumn, though). I think I would love it if I could read this book from Hunter's POV! It would be just fun to pick his brain and see what he thought all those times Autumn surprised him.
I recommend this book to readers who enjoy New Adult romance and a slight mystery.

Fierce is about a girl named Autumn Blakewood entering her first year of college. She has always been known as a nerd or a geek. But with her best friend Evie by her side, she knows every thing will be okay.
But then on that first day, she runs into Hunter Bane, the ultimate bad boy. He set's his sights on her and doesn't let her go.
As their relationship grows, secrets fall loose, testing the waters of their relationship more than ever.
This is seriously a really good book. At first I wasn't so sure. It seemed a little cheesy, but then you see so much more of what's really happen behind the scenes of the school and Hunter finally spills the truth, you see a side you never expected.
I fell in love with both of these characters. Autumn is feisty, she may be small but don't push her around. She kind of lives inside her head but she grows out of that a little. She has attitude. Hunter is a bad boy with a heart, which he only has for Autumn.
I am still reeling from this book. For something I wasn't sure about during the first few chapters turned out to be way better than expected. These two just mesh well together, they balance each other out. They are complete opposites but that's what makes this.
The last 6-7 chapters get so intense, you won't be able to stop. Their sexual tension is so high, it makes it even better when they do finally have sex. What I like is they wait, and it just builds to the point where you want to start ripping clothes off. I like that it doesn't jump right into sex.
Clarissa Wild approached me and offered me an ARC... I'm glad I read this. Fierce was my first by this author and it won't be the last. Thank you Clarissa!
I hope to see more of Autumn and Hunter in the future. I feel there are a few things left unanswered... To me personally. But I look forward to more.

Fierce is about a girl named Autumn Blakewood entering her first year of college. She has always been known as a nerd or a geek. But with her best friend Evie by her side, she knows every thing will be okay.
But then on that first day, she runs into Hunter Bane, the ultimate bad boy. He set's his sights on her and doesn't let her go.
As their relationship grows, secrets fall loose, testing the waters of their relationship more than ever.
This is seriously a really good book. At first I wasn't so sure. It seemed a little cheesy, but then you see so much more of what's really happen behind the scenes of the school and Hunter finally spills the truth, you see a side you never expected.
I fell in love with both of these characters. Autumn is feisty, she may be small but don't push her around. She kind of lives inside her head but she grows out of that a little. She has attitude. Hunter is a bad boy with a heart, which he only has for Autumn.
I am still reeling from this book. For something I wasn't sure about during the first few chapters turned out to be way better than expected. These two just mesh well together, they balance each other out. They are complete opposites but that's what makes this.
The last 6-7 chapters get so intense, you won't be able to stop. Their sexual tension is so high, it makes it even better when they do finally have sex. What I like is they wait, and it just builds to the point where you want to start ripping clothes off. I like that it doesn't jump right into sex.
Clarissa Wild approached me and offered me an ARC... I'm glad I read this. Fierce was my first by this author and it won't be the last. Thank you Clarissa!
I hope to see more of Autumn and Hunter in the future. I feel there are a few things left unanswered... To me personally. But I look forward to more.

I just finished Fierce and I liked it. Autumn is what you call a nerdy girl and she is at her first day in college where she makes a grand impression. People laugh and is distraught. Here is where she meets Hunter. Hunter is a tough looking college student and cant keep his eyes off of her. Autumn cant help herself either. She is very attracted to him. She does try to stay away from him but with Hunter there is more to him that meets the eye. He is hiding secrets and what will happens when those secrets come out? Will Autumn be able to understand and forgive him for what he has to do? You will have to read and see....

I liked the story, I thought that it flowed really well. I thought that the story line was good and it went to something unexpected, I never would have guessed the way that it turned out. I can tell you that Hunter is a bad boy, someone you might not want to take home to your parents but that is all on the outside. He really likes Autumn and wants to be a better man but he has things that he has to do. Autumn is a sweet girl and she had some tough decisions to make. This is the first book I've read by Clarissa Wild and won't be the last.
I loved this story don't get me wrong, loved the whole bad boy undercover cage fighter alpha male persona, it kinda reminded me of Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire but there where some unneeded sentences I couldn't over look, it had me rereading sentences over&over again.

They're Skinny, well built, have smug faces, and some of them have girlfriends hanging on their laps.
They're talking loud, and I can barely hear what they're saying.
I dislike the first half of the book but when it go to the 50% mark everything shifted and became more enjoyable.
I also felt so unconnected with the heroine. but had no problem connecting with the hero Hunter.
And can I say Hunter Bane is H-O-T. like new book boyfriend HOT!

Not going to lie but didn't like the story and I ended up not finishing it. The characters were just not connecting enough for me. It felt like a little too rushed or it just could be me, but I seriously didn't get it. Anyways, I have to admit, the cover image is the only thing that I connected with *smiles*.

Unfortunately my review is not a good one. When I read the blurb I thought it was going to be enjoyable. I was wrong.
I just couldn’t connect with this book or its characters. Everything was slow and unrealistic to my eyes.

2 Meh-It just-didn't-do-it-for-me!
I really wanted this to be good, it sounded good and well look at the damn cover!! I love the cover but this book was a disappointment.It was like I was reading it but I wasn't hooked in, I was merely skim reading, which i hate and rarely do.In this case it seemed to be the only way I could get through this book.You know when you read and its a great book and you don't want it to finish so you are trying to go slow but you love it so much that you need to read on? Yeah it wasn't like that, I just wanted it to finish!

It all starts of when Autumn Blakewood starts college with an embarrassing incident which causes her hair to be covered in leaves along with that she meets Hunter.Autumn Blakewood is geeky, awkward and loyal friend whilst Hunter is cocky, confident and looks dangerous. Hunter's nickname for her becomes Leafy and soon they begin chatting since they are in the same class.
Hunter has a lot going on and none of it is good stuff, he is involved with some dodgy guys and things seem to be getting worse day by day.Autumn decides to get involved and find out what is going on with Hunter so she can stop him or help him.Lets just say Autumn should have minded her own business, I didn't exactly love her she annoyed me at times and I found her really immature.
I did like Hunter, even though at times he could be a right arsehole but hey that's just him.He was a good guy involved in a messed up situation.I just didn't feel connected with these characters, or the story.It was slow and needed a lot more to it, for the book to actually pull me in.

ITS OKAY
On the first day of college Autumn meets bad boy Hunter Bane. Guys like him don't normally notice a nerdy girl wearing glasses. At Atumn's first class, Hunter comes and sits next to her, it seems to amuse Hunter to tease her. Hunter is a man with problems that he keeps well hidden, he tries very hard to stay away from Autumn but she's proving irresistible. He knows she's far to good for him.
First read for me by this author. I'm a big fan of these types of stories with the bad boy falling for the nerdy good girl, and I wanted to love this but I couldn't. The story was a bit difficult to get into, it was a bit slow to start for me. Autumn is starting college with her BF Emily, I'm sorry to say I found Emily a very unlikeable character, she's meant to be Autumn's friend, but she only wants to control Autumn, she even wants to control who Autumn can talk to or be friends with. Otherwise she gets angry. But then Emily has her own agenda. Autumn was extremely naive for a college girl, Hunter I liked, he had a vulnerable side. I did not find the story flowed very well, the characters lacked development, we know absolutely nothing about them, they just exist in the here and now. There are parts of this that are just too unrealistic. Unfortunately this just wasn't for me

Hmmm...
I liked it, but there were parts in the book that I found highly cheesy. I mean I guess the cheesiness fits Autumn since she is a nerd. And it worked for her. I enjoyed reading her character.
Hunter was a good character and I liked him well enough.
On Autumn's first day of college, she gets deemed Leafy by bad boy, Hunter. From the moment her eyes land on him, she's captivated. But Autumn is a good girl who studies and follows all the rules.
Hunter likes to break the rules. And he's hiding a terrible secret. A secret that you'll figure out early on in the book but Autumn won't find out until the end. How she was so naive to what it was, I don't know. But nothing in the book surprised me.
The sexual tension between the H/h was good, I did find myself smirking a time or two. They both sure do know how to talk dirty to each other.
And despite my rating, I did enjoy the book, I just felt there was missing something. I was given this review copy in exchange for an honest review.

This book really surprised me! I was anticipating an unexpected romance between heart throb and nerdy girl, but I got a whole lot more than that!
Autumn is the exactly what you picture when you think of a nerdy girl in college. She has never had any reason to stray from her straight laced lifestyle. She works hard and studies hard to make sure she makes her family proud.
Hunter is the campus" bad boy". He has the look, the attitude, and the reputation. However, there is a lot more to Hunter below the surface. Autumn is the one person who sees beneath the reputation, and sees the real Hunter.
The more they get to know each other, the more things cone up that just don't add up. There are a lot more questions than answers.
I enjoyed this book a lot more than I thought I would. Yeah, there was a few situations that seemed pretty unrealistic but the underlying mystery that I wasn't expecting really made up for it!

So this book took a little bit for me to get sucked in but was so worth reading to the end!! Hunter Bane is a super sexy alpha male with quite the secret. Autumn Blakewood is an innocent nerdy girl off to start her college adventure with her best friend, Evie. Autumn meets up with her other best friend Brody who is three years older than her at college. Brody is no longer the nerdy guy she remembers from high school. He's more muscular and popular. Add in a secret frat that deals in underground fighting, drugs and murder giving you quite the plot twists. Hunter teaches Autumn to live a little while Autumn teaches Hunter some studying points. Their attraction grows stronger and Autumn needs to decide if all of Hunter's secrets are worth the price of love!!
I enjoyed reading this story with all it's secrets going on & I thought I knew where it was all leading only to get some of it right. I love when the author keeps me guessing!!

I need to preface this by saying I am not a fan of non-series books. Primarily this has to do with I think that series books have more of an opportunity for character development. However with that said I did enjoy this book. While I felt that there could have been a touch more back story on Autumn and Hunter's story could have gotten out a bit sooner, and there could have been a bit more intrigue to finding out who the "boss" was I felt that this book was a good romance story. Add in that it had some really hot parts (I was fanning myself over some of them!) and I couldn't put it down. It really made me remember how fun early relationships were and how dramatic they can be even if they aren't in the same context as what was in this book. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a little bit of romance and a lot of hot times. It makes a great way to warm up from cold winter days!
