Enjoyable read.

I've been keeping up with this series. I have to say, though, that for a carboholic, like me, it is torture to have to read about the rolls and scones and breads that sound soooo good that I can't eat. Seriously, I'm happy to see that Gracie has shared her secret with the people who mean the most to her and that she's accepting that her father has given a lot up to be with her and that he deserves some happiness, too. And I love that little pup, Biga. He makes me smile. Keep it up, and I'll keep reading.

Another delightful entry in the Laughing Loaf Bakery series. Mouthwatering descriptions of delectable baked goods (recipes included!), a thoroughly obnoxious victim, and likeable characters reappearing at key moments, make for a satisfying read. Extending her settings from the Santa Cruz Mountains to wine country and beyond, Ms. Kazarian captures the sounds and scents of Northern California in vivid prose (I nearly laughed aloud at her on-point description of riding on a certain municipal pier). You might say this book gives "rise" to expectations of the next in the series.

Another Excellent Addition to the Series!

I am totally enjoying his series, it just keeps getting better. Gracie and Nate are growing closer and she accepts his invitation for a get away to nearby Sonoma. While there they visit a local bakery that her assistant Beck is enthusiastic about. The owner of the bakery has a huge social media presence as well as a devoted following. Gracie suggests that he teach a class on bread making at her bakery as well as filming it as part of his utube series. He agrees and Beck is over the moon to be included. But Gracie discovers that Daniel is not a very nice person. Courteous to his customers but rude and nasty to his employees.

This is another fast paced well written story. Really great characters that are starting to feel like old friends. As Gracie tries to piece together clues as to who would want Daniel dead she must also confront her growing feelings for Nate and just how much to reveal about her true identity. And also reconcile with her friend Elana whom she truly misses. And to add to all the drama come to grips with her father's growing romance and explore why she doesn't like the new lady in his life.

So much going on, laughter nd tears, and of course delicious descriptions of bread and pastries. I highly recommend this series, you won't be disappointed!! 🎉🎉👏👏🌟🌟📚

"Sourdough And Cyanide" is book #4 in the "Laughing Loaf Bakery" by Victoria Kazarian.

Gracie regrets inviting popular bread maker Daniel Bordleman to do a sourdough bread making class at her Laughing Loaf Bakery - especially after he ends up dead after the first day. He was nice to his customers but treated his employees and several others badly so there could be any number of suspects. Who had the biggest motive and opportunity?

As well as trying to help the police chief solve the case, Gracie is trying to deal with some personal issues. Her dad is dating and she isn't sure how she feels about that. Her friendship with Elana is fractured after what happened in October. Gracie is also sensing that Nate may know more about her than he should and isn't sure how to deal with that. It's all a bit stressful.

No surprise on who the murder victim was. Several interesting possibilities but I was able to narrow it down to a couple of people before the ultimate reveal and a very dangerous situation for Gracie.

As always, this is a very entertaining series with great core characters, believable and often witty dialogue. The vivid descriptions of the breads and pastries at the Laughing Loaf will leave your mouth watering. A few recipes are included at the end.

I enjoyed this book about a bread maker and her obsession with running her Californian store, to the extent that she finds it hard to switch off on a holiday. She visits a different breadmaker, famed for his sourdough and creepy theatrical YouTube videos. Setting up classes at her place with the publicity-minded baker, she may have let herself in for more than she can chew.
There's plenty of activity and interesting characters, and you'll learn about baking bread and other goodies, in a fun murder mystery.
There's a running thread that the baker is in witness protection, but as I had not read the earlier books that didn't really matter to me, except that it gives a reason why our central character is not in a committed relationship.
I read the Kindle version. This is an unbiased review.

This was so good! After a really scary situation back in October (aka the previous book) things were really looking up for Gracie businesswise and as far as her relationship with Nate went…then there was a murder. I’m sure Gracie missed her usual sleuthing buddy Elana since Elana had kinda ghosted her since October and the scary situation. I kept hoping they’d patch things up, but you need to read for yourself to find that out.

The showdown was pretty exciting and lucky for Gracie, she had a great network of friends who just seemed to know when something went wrong. Nate should get boyfriend of the year award for such a sweet ending!

Another captivating Cozy Mysery

I just so enjoys his book. It was an easy read and very hard to put down once I started reading it. I like that there are now too many characters. It certainly my interest and I look forward to the next book. With all the talk about cinnamon rolls I had to go to my favorite bakery and get my cinnamon roll fix. I guess next I will be on the hunt for Beignets. Haha

Death of a baker

An internet-famous baker agrees to teach a class at the Laughing Loaf but dies at the end of it. Gracie needs to figure out why, and who.
I love those Jokes of the Day, by the way.
