Catchup

This entry introduces a couple new characters, establishes a few youngsters as adults, and advances the timelines of a few useful but not central characters. It acts as a bridge to tie the previous two novels (Comet Fall and Dark Lady) to the next novels (Young Warriors and God of Assassins).

Another fine story in the Wine of the Gods series

This was another enjoyable story and I would've given it five stars but I found parts of it to be a little confusing because it seemed to skip from first person view to first person view involving different people. There are so many different names of people in this story that I'm thinking of writing a chart to keep track of them all. The genealogy alone could drive you crazy. Everybody is related to everybody it seems.

But it's all good. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.

This book continues the story of the magical inhabitants in the world of the Wine of the Gods, but with three distinct and separate characters who are all growing into their powers. It was another of the "three novelette" structured books, which was useful for series backstory, but less satisfying on its own, since overall I mostly care about the family we've been following from the beginning of The Black Goats...
