Nothing is real about Kenna Wraith. Not her name, not her story, nothing. Kenna, formerly named Denara, is rescued from an enemy-held outpost called The Keep, which is her first introduction to Christian, the Prince and next in line to the Kingdom where she will be hidden. Aiding her deception and survival is Marcus, the Commander of the Queen’s Army and Otis, her father’s best friend.
As time passes, Kenna becomes more comfortable leading her new life in the Kingdom. She makes a friend in town, becomes a renowned physician’s assistant, and even shares a bed with the prince. None of this comes without a price however, and she soon realises that it isn’t only her enemies who have plans for her.
When tragedy befalls the Kingdom and the one person she’d been trying to avoid is in the midst of it, Kenna is forced to make a hard choice between saving herself and saving everyone she has come to love.
A stunning debut novel that immediately drew me in, kept me hooked, and left my wanting more in the best way. I cannot wait for more stories from this world.
A fabulous debut. The world building was solid while also being easy to understand. Because of this I found I could power through the first 1/4 of the book, which is where I usually stumble and put fantasy books down. Bonus points - I didn’t struggle with any pronunciations. The FMC was likable and rounded. It was nice to have a lead who can use a weapon but isn’t opposed to the more “feminine” things like pretty dresses & flowers. Also, to have a main character who doesn’t just automatically “know” everything was refreshing. You could see overtime where she was learning and who from. There are quite a few side characters but no one seemed unnecessary to the plot. Banter was great & I felt the relationships (the good, the bad & the ugly) were fairly genuine. I loved Marcus. Give me a grumpy dad character any day of the week. There weren’t any places were the pacing dropped off for more than a page or so but at the same time I’m glad it wasn’t action pact on every page. With that ending, I can’t wait to know what happens next.

Im not really a fantasy fan, but I devoured BFF and have been recommending it to pretty much anyone with a pulse.
From the opening line, I was so invested, and skipped lunch for almost a week to finish reading it as soon as I could - I just had to know what came next.
Characters are so beautifully written and I'll forever have a soft spot for Zemira and Marcus.
The author has made my buy-on-sight list and I'm chomping at the bit to know what happens next!
Born from Fire pulled me in right from the start with its mix of intrigue, hidden identities, and high stakes. Kenna’s journey, from survival to building a new life while grappling with loyalty and love, was both gripping and emotional. The layers of deception, romance, and tough choices kept me turning the pages. A great blend of fantasy, romance, and political drama. I’m really looking forward to reading more from Cyn Wren!
A spectacular read, filled with life and intrigue. I'd have read it cover-to-cover in one sitting of I hadn't needed to sleep. Whether it's a sequel or something entirely different, I can't wait to see what the author brings us next.
I really enjoyed ready this book,, not my typical genre so I presently surprised that I found it so intriguing as I became invested in the characters. Such a strong female lead so I look forward to reading about what comes next for her in the sequel.
Born From Fire was an outstanding book, that kept me intrigued the whole way through, had a fantastic time reading this book, it is definitely worth a read, I can not wait for the story to continue
Not the type of book I usually read but Born from Fire kept me turning the pages with anticipation. Throughly enjoyed this book. Can’t wait to continue the story in Forged in Fire.
