Purity: The New Moral Revolution

Rate this book
People worldwide are crying out for a sexual revolution! Counter to the sexual revolution of the 1960s, this revolution values virginity and honors marriage. This revolution sees perversion as sin not an acceptable post-modern mindset. Young adults, teens, fathers, mothers, and grandparents want to shake off the slime of depravity and the bondage of religion, and enter into the joy of passionate purity. This book takes a non-religious, gut-honest, fresh look at a subject as old as Adam and Eve. The wisdom within helps you and those you love emerge from the mire with your trophy of purity intact so you can present it to your lover on your honeymoon. While some nations seem to live in a perpetual orgy, and religion relegates the masses to sexual prison, people need to know they can overcome the power of peer pressure and push back the cesspool of distorted cultural values. You can take a Vow of Purity today you will never regret the decision!

This book was a godsend. I borrowed it from my sister and read it in a couple of nights. It's a great place to start when you have 2 teenage sons and want to give them reasons for 'waiting till marriage' that actually resonate with them and will give them the desire to actually make a plan for doing just that! It starts with a parable about purity and then goes on in very easy, straightforward, un-condemning language. Just a great book for anyone to read.
(It is now called Sexual Revolution with a black and red cover which I also have in my read list)

If you are a hyper-charismatic Christian and believe in this nonsense, you will love this book.

If you are a mainstream Christian, this book may offend you and is full of claims that are inconsistent with the bible and Christian doctrine. It has no basis in scripture and is more pagan than Christian - just labeled nicely as Christianity.

No matter what type of Christian you are, taking sexual and moral advice from primitive, sexist, slave-holding men isn't very practical and should be avoided. It claims a non-religious stance, but the woo beliefs that the author believes can not be avoided in this book.

If this is for your children, I suggest an open and honest discussion about sex and how to be safe when they are in the "heat of the moment" - not using guilt as a motivating force - "because god...".

This is literally one of the worst books I have ever read. It is morally, politically, and theologically offensive. It's main points are not in scripture. It is poorly written. I was assigned this book in Bible College. For my paper, I gave a thorough critique of the book and why it is not only theologically and biblically inaccurate, but actually represents much of what is wrong in the mainstream evangelical church today. I received an A for the paper.

Readers interested in this topic would do much better to read the chapter on lust from John Piper's Future Grace. In that one chapter, Piper says more about the nature of the sin of lust, the glory of sex, and the biblical keys for fighting for the joy God has for us in sexual purity, than Vallotton says in this entire book.

I really liked this book a lot! I bought this book to give it to my son. I wanted a good, honest book, that really showed the importance of waiting until marriage to have sex. I didn't want a legalistic approach, but something that was from God's heart, and this hit the spot. It really is perfect for youth, and anyone who is single and desires to have something beautiful with that special someone that God has intended for them. My favorite thing about the book is that Kris shows that "waiting until marriage" is something that you should fight for and in fighting for it, it makes the value of it all that much greater. Great book!

This book is a very informative book. I read this book in youth group, this book is a purity book. It gives you a testimony from a pastor from Bethel Redding. This book tells you problems about keeping your virginity and keeping your purity until your married. He talks about the battle everyone goes through to keep their purity until their married. It gives us tips about how to keep your purity. It is a great book, you should read it!

This was a super fast read. It covered everything I've been hearing for the past few weeks (the topic has been brought up more and more as we near the election and The Call) and more. Here's hoping another sexual revolution is on the rise to reverse the damage of the last one.

So I have fallen in with a crowd of Christians (friends around town), and they have recommended several books for me to better understand their values and motives. This book tops it off, as bizarre as only could be expected. Great bunch of people, but I won't be converting any time soon.

I love Kris' straight forward, say it like it is style. The book wasn't earth shattering for me, but I'm a 49 year old who has been in church my whole life, so I'm sure that makes a difference. I wish this book had been available when I was in my teens. Teenagers need this!

Great read on living a life of Purity, truly the best one I've read. I would recommend this book to middle and high schoolers and those working with them.

It's very challenging in that it puts you on the line to make a choice based on the word of God and though we may fall we are always qualified to try again
