When life gives you lemons . . . you have a tequila shot before facing the problem, right?
On the night of her eighteenth birthday, Isabelle didn’t just have one lemon thrown at her, she got the entire tree.
Her world was turned upside down.
Now she isn’t just grieving the loss of her parents.
• She is raising her sisters.
• Suffering from more frequent episodes that are getting harder to mask.
• Trying to NOT fall in love with her best friends and next-door neighbours, Grayson and Taylor.
It’s not until her favourite brand of mac & cheese changes the recipe so she can no longer eat her go-to comfort food that it all sinks in, and she finally falls apart.
It’s okay to fall apart though – tacos fall apart, and we still love them.
With the help of her besties, neighbours, and the mysterious Officer Mitchell, Isabelle learns to navigate her new normal. She just needs to dodge the oranges, pineapples, and coconuts that get thrown her way first.
Fruit punch anyone?
Isabelle and the neighbour is part of the New Hope World. You will see familiar characters pop up along the way, however you do not need to read the other books before reading this story.
Amber Davis is an avid reader who after lots of encouragement from her friends, decided it was time to put pen to paper and write the book that had been niggling at her for some time. Amber suffers from multiple autoimmune and invisible illness diseases and because of this, some of these illnesses are discussed in her books through the life of some of her characters.
She is passionate about bringing awareness to these conditions.
She owns a merch printing company with her best friend and has a whole bunch of other projects on the go.
When she isn’t working or reading, she’s binge watching TV shows and re-watching ALL the Disney movies, especially the classics. She’s a massive fan of all things Disney and has quite a large collection of books and Elmo’s.
Amber is originally from Queensland but has been living in Melbourne with her dog Bella for the past 7 years.
Amber Davis is back with a new book set in the New Hope Universe. I love how the author always does a great job of incorporating chronic illness representation into her books. I was glad to be back with some of my favorite characters from the earlier books as Isabelle lives next door to Arden & Chase and their friends. This was a beautiful and heartbreaking story and I loved every minute of it. I can’t wait for the next book in the series.
It’s about someone who can’t fall apart (literally and figuratively) and knowing someone bit by bit that they can fall. That someone would catch them and be tehre for them. That life isn’t about them anymore and it expanded to the point that their family might’ve lost some people, they gained some more.
It’s about trusting yourself to fall and knowing that there’ll be someone with you through it all. In the long run. Who waits for you. Who will always treat you as someone you deserve to be treated. Who puts you first and treat the people you love the same as they does with you.
I might need more of these series. It brings so much awareness and make it interesting enough to keep reading. To never stop.
Any time a book is released in the new hope series I quickly get sucked in. There's something about them and how the writer portrays her characters that it makes everything so lovable.
My only critique is that a few things seem to be missing or rushed. I would love to have read about the movie night and also how things went when Dom's partner spent time with the girls. We didn't get a lot of details from formal night in Isa's point of view but that could be because it was covered pretty well in Vadas story.
Over all I will read every single one of the new hope books and I can't wait for New Hope after dark series
I love Amber Davis’s books so much because they are so easy to read and i love them. I love how this book has chronic illness rep because i also love learning more about it and also seeing the representation. I want to be in their found family please!! Isabelle and Dom are perfect together and i love them a lot!! this book was good!
fantastic if you can get over the under age main character
My biggest problem with this book is the fact that Isabella is underage and dom is older. I have loved the new hope series, but this one isn’t for me personally. Which probably means I won’t like the Dylan and Brad book. Still giving it 5 stars because this author deserves it.
I love every book that comes out of this world, the characters, stories, always catch me upside down.
Isabella's story is strong and painful but I love how she moves forward with her village, and how her story with Dom develops, and how all her relationships evolve.
Oh Amber, I think this may be my favourite of yours. You had the tears flowing. Such a sweet romance book so if that is what you're looking for then jump right in.
I absolutely love this Author. This series is full of realistic characters. Super relatable life problems. I can’t wait for the next in this series. Recommend to all
Cute book, but also, very confusing. No real flow and seemed to jump a lot. Also, there’s no warning saying you should read the books in a certain order to understand who everyone’s character is.
Only read this for the POTS representation, since I have it. I actually really enjoyed this story, there were alot of characters so it was hard to follow at times but In general I really like it.
Self published cheesy romance books are the best. I love Amber David and will read any book she writes. This one was beautiful and I loved it. This is a perfect addition to the series.
As soon as I realised the date I rushed to get my kindle, I stayed in bed all day reading this book. It was so well written and I totally didn’t cry five times. I can’t wait for the next books to be released
