Bespelled
Toni (Antonia) is a witch. She lives on campus studying English Literature. She has been promised to another witch since she was very small. Jules, the Coven leader’s son, is her promised mate. Witches marry witches according to the coven rules. She was always attracted to Jules and they dated until he hurt her the night she gave him her virginity. She will not forgive him and as a result vows to never marry or have a long-term relationship. Her mom told her to sow her wild oats but she will settle down with Jules.
Lately, Toni is feeling not quite herself. She is clumsy and things seem difficult. What is wrong with her? She slides into the lecture hall and sits with a witch from her coven, Nevaeh. She bangs into a table. Their professor announces a guest speaker. A tall dark-haired man with blue grey eyes enters and takes Toni’s breath away. Next to her, Nevaeh, says “Vampire”. Then a second man enters with a red aura vibe. Toni wonders then; why does a vampire need a bodyguard? Witches are supposed to hate other super naturals so why is she drawn to the bodyguard? Toni has been lonely since her friend and roommate left to go home. Maybe she needs a hook-up, no strings attached one night stand.
Gideon is a bodyguard to an old vampire, Alister Killian. They cam to this small college town after hearing rumors of Witch Covens causing trouble. He notices a pretty red-head with blue eyes in the lecture hall. He feels something is not quite right about her, something wrong. He follows Toni and Nevaeh and overhears them talking about the new app, Crystal Connection, a supernatural dating app.
Will Toni and Gideon hook-up? What kind of supernatural is Gideon?
This was a fun short read that just whets your appetite about this series. This is book 4 in the series, Swipe right for Magic. I am going to have to read the previous ones! I want to know more about the potential witch trouble and the Metlocks, Jules and his dad using dark magic.

Toni, the female witch college student lead, is part of a coven that prizes pure bloodlines and strengthening magic. Promised to the coven leader’s son since they were small, she’s decided to remain single, after he hurt her.

Gideon, the gargoyle bodyguard/investigator lead, is on Toni’s campus as part of an investigation into witches threatening other magical species. When he sees Toni, he’s drawn to her, and, when he get closer, he realises she’s his mate. Now he needs to convince her to push back against her parents and coven, and choose him…

This short story is dual POV, well written, and a sweet and steamy, contemporary fantasy romance. I enjoyed Toni’s certainty that she was done with her arranged partner. I enjoyed Gideon’s confidence that Toni was his mate, and his willingness to help her however necessary. I enjoyed their steamy intimate moments, and appreciated how Gideon used those as building blocks for their longer term relationship. I enjoyed the world building, and Gideon’s vampire partner, and the overarching plot premise that gives options for future stories.

Toni is a witch, student and a delightful, intelligent and determined young woman. There’s something wrong with her magic, feeling weak, tired and distracted. She meets Gideon after class, he’s the bodyguard for professor Killian a vampire. Gideon is a gargoyle, big, tall blue eyes and very hot and Toni can’t stop watching him, very dreamy and sexy. Gideon knows Toni is his mate and he’s worried about her, something is wrong a darkness overshadows Toni. They are so very sweet together, they have a wild, steamy and delicious date night. Toni has a dangerous stalker, Jules is the wizard her family has promised her too, he tries to take her. Gideon will protect his mate no one will ever hurt her again. I loved this story and the wonderful happy ending is truly heartwarming. Beautiful, delightful and delicious reading. I loved every second of this book, couldn’t put it down.

Bespelled is part of the Swipe Right for Magic series. It's a short and steamy, instalove, OTT, opposites-attract, paranormal, fated mates, witch gets her gargoyle romance. Antonia (Toni) is a young witch going to college. Gideon is a hunky bodyguard for a vampire and a gargoyle. When Gideon's boss does a lecture for Toni's class, the two are instantly attracted to each other. But Toni has a controlling ex that she is supposed to marry. Things get hot and steamy between them, but Gideon notices the control her ex has and wants to protect her. How will she react when he reveals he is her fated mate? This couple had great chemistry, and we did get a happy ending. I can't wait for Elowen's story next!.

Toni's life does not seem to be going well. She has been promised for marriage since being a child to the son of the leader of the coven but after he broke her heart and she discovered what he was really like she is determined promised or not marriage will not be happening. After a run in with him she decides to set up an online profile and swipes right on Mr Tall, dark and handsome. Unfortunately he turns out to be a Gargoyle and her fated mate! With the odds stacked against them, can they possibly manage to overcome the obstacles in their way and be together?
For such a short story this was really good. I love the two main characters and was thrilled that they managed to get their HEA

Short spicy story. Toni is a witch that is promised to a real jerk. Her parents are prejudice against anyone being with her except another witch. It takes courage to go against what family, friends and event communities beliefs. Gideon is a gargoyle. He finds his mate in a young witch attending college where his boss is lecturing. He must convince her they're meant for one another and face her families and Covent's disapproval.
Loved Toni's independent spirit. Loved Gideon's protectiveness yet not stifling.

Toni was a witch and witches marry witches, well Toni had been promised to Jules but he had hurt her and now she was not going to not marry him or anyone else. She put her name on the Crystal Connection application, just to find a hook up little did she know that her world was to change. What did Professor Killian a vampire and a gargoyle named Gideon have to do with those changes, and what had Jules done to her with his dark magic. Such an intriguing foundation to a story that is going to take us down mysterious paths looking for answer to those questions.

Toni and Gideon

This was my first book by Cali Mann and I really like her writing style. I wanted a quick read but also a good story behind it and Bespelled delivered, I loved the main characters and the development of the relationship. A steamy page turner with drama, magic, love and danger that had me on the edge of my seat and I couldn’t put it down. This is part of the Bite Club: Swipe Right for Magic series and I highly recommend this book and you won’t be disappointed!.

This is a short lunch read. We have Toni, a witch and Gideon a gargoyle. Toni pretty much hates her coven. Gideon has his own issues with his clan. I liked the idea of the story, but felt it was rushed and missing so much. It ends with you not knowing what happens in the end. So hopefully the next book will give us more details.

loved it !! love Toni and Gideon... this is their story... a fast paced short story... Toni needs something.. maybe a hook-up.. she's living at school...she's never marrying... especially that witch she's supposed to marry.. she hates him... then, she sees a vampire with a gargoyle body guard at her class... so good !!.

Toni and Gideon have got some chemistry. There is also a bit of a minor mystery of what is going on with Toni and her ex. Her coven seems determined to have her marry a witch, but can this gargoyle win her over.
