Nicole’s name is easily becoming synonymous with messy because chyyyyyy this was messy!! Because I’m hip to Nicole’s storytelling style I was hip to game from the beginning but the way things unfolded still had me LOCKED in!!!
The way the math was mathing with the addition and subtraction was crazy!!! 😆😆 I meeaannnnn!!! And that ending?!? I swear my anxiety was high because I just KNEW somebody wasn’t walking out alive!!
Nicole is the messy GOAT!! I swear I’m going to deep dive into her catalog later this year because I know she got some hidden gems!

Rumor is a recent high school graduate who has been sheltered most of her life by her overprotective and overbearing parents. She was barely allowed to do the things most teenagers do at her age. So, when Rumor turned 18 sis said, “I’ma start doin’ me.” She got a job at the local coffee shop (something her parents wouldn’t allow her to do) and she practically moved in with her best friend. Now, the thing to know about Rumor is, she’s a plus size girly. So, her parents made sure her appearance was what they deemed appropriate for her size. Rumor could only wear loose clothing, she wasn't allowed to wear make-up, and she could only wear her hair in simple hairstyles. When Auri invites them to the club, Cia decides it’s time for Rumor’s glow up. That glow up is the catalyst to all the drama that unfolds in this book. Because, Auri definitely didn't see Rumor coming. 😏😏😏 You already know anything Nicole Jackson pens is going to be messy and Never Saw Her Coming was right on par with the messiness.

Well damn this was better than I expected. Come on with the messy azz story telling! This was juicy and I was like oh so y'all just don't gaf okay. 🤣🤣
I'm not even going to dive into the book like I normally do because you deserve for it all to unfold for you. Just know some heaux think their man would neva when they don't even know their man.
I will say the ending felt incomplete. It felt like there was more story to be told.

I wanted to give this that 5 star but that ending wasn’t right I need me a part 2. This book was messyyyyyy to the rip but it literally made sense i don’t know how and I don’t condone cheating but babyyy they right for each other but it’s messy I need me a part 2 soon because I need to know what happens next. Lowkey Auri needed a wake up call because she thought she was the 💩 and ended up being blindsided. Rumor and Cahvi story just getting started in my opinion and needs an ending because I enjoyed this way too much 🤣.
Also side note I really should not be surprised that author Nicole really be pulling the fast punches of surprise because at this point she still keep catching me !

Rumor was running away from her strict parents into the arms a drug dealer who promises her the moon. She has sex and loses her virginity on her 18th birthday and makes one error after another. She never seemed as smart as Nicole wanted us to believe. She was naive but she had low character and morals. Wish Nicole would use her talent to build a complex tale of a young woman’s awakening and metamorphosis into a fully adult 25 yr old woman without there being an active drug dealer in her life, baby momma situation, or pregnancy while attending university. These pessimistic tropes don’t do her writing any justice because she can spin a well written tale.

I really did like rumor and Ruger's' story. Again I don't condone cheating but I like a good mess in a book. I think that Auri Should have just taken her ill gracefully it's not like she wasn't also Cheating and knew what was what. The fact that rumor had to gracefully tell her that they basically trauma bonded and that's why they were together for such a long time should have hit her in the face a long time ago. I think that rumor even though she understood what she was doing was not completely the best way to go about the situation soul ties are crazy and you can't help wanting the person that wants you also. I was shook it to find out that Cahvi and Ruger Were the same person though and that they had ties to each other... but i understood him as well. I see the situation for all of them wasn't the best but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. Auri thinking that her spot was secure solely off looks was just dumb, cause rumor was attractive...I need conventionally pretty women to stop thinking that just cause other women are bigger that we aren't pretty enough to snatch ya man the two things are not mutually exclusive, and Auri found that out the hard way. I am sorry to say that I didn't feel bad for her cause she was moving funky too, she was just mad her situation had to change.
The life of it I loved his author's books but the abrupt endings I'm not the biggest fan of It's like how we just go in with them stranded in the apartment during a hurricane after all this **** hit the fan and we get no like real resolution. But it was a decent read! 😊

That Ending….
Okay I was almost confused like who is Ruger? And where Cahvi at?! 🤦🏾♀️🤣 It’s crazy how Auri didn’t even realize they were trauma bonded but maybe that’s cause she was so busy worrying about what he was doing for her in the moment. Once that man complained and told her to deal with the issues that brought them together and she act like she ain’t wanna do nothing about it he was done. The text messages showed just how self-aware Ruger was about the situation before it came out. I loved that for him cause he realized that he gotta live for himself and his happiness which was Rumor. Naawwww Rumor shocked me at the end with that last read cause sis act like she was scared until she wasn’t okayyy. Dang I hope they get their happy ending 😒😒.

cute and spicy 🥵
I wasn’t expecting that to be the last page. This was short and sweet. Spicy too. Auri was well within her right to grieve the relationship…for a few seconds. Cahvi or Wuggie shall I say 🤣 could have been slightly more discreet but at the end of the day the day gotta end and Auri wasn’t getting the hint. They definitely trauma bonded. I’m sure because they weren’t suppose to take things to the next level, he wasn’t happy so he slept around a lot. That probably triggered her to start doing her own thing. Rumor came around and souls were tied. Can’t be mad at that. I can’t lie, Auri had a warped way of thinking about big girls. Her shallow way of thinking is how Rumor snatched Ruger right on up. She was so insulting in the beginning. I knew it would go down the way it did. The chemistry was insane in this book.

Let Them Know…
This story was good, with a crazy twist. It’s funny, sexy and flowing with hot s€x scenes. A crazy situation but when you love what you love, nothing can stop a soul tie and that’s what Ruger and Rumor have. I loved how the author bonded them mentally, intellectually and spiritually allowing them to make decision based on their lives and what’s best for them, and not what others thought.
This was a teachable lesson to never judge a book by its cover and further more to judge brains over vanity and arrogance. Just because you don’t something, somebody out there is going to love it!

Lawd we need a follow up to this story. The way I was invested in the drama. The soul ties between Ruger and Rumor was so strong. I want to feel sorry Auri, but her friend told her nothing but the truth.”A man should only have to tell you once he don’t want you” Honestly she didn’t want him anymore he was her emotional blanket. He protected her when she needed someone, but now it’s time for her to get the help she need and heal.
Overall, great book. Wishing it was an epilogue to give us closure on this crew.

Underestimating the Shy Girl
I really enjoyed this and I probably shouldn’t have since so much was going on behind the scenes and in the dark BUT I did understand Ruger’s reasons. I pray him and Rumor continue to blossom and thrive together. Auri dusty self needed to stop playing little girl games like her position couldn’t be taken. Anywho….. I’m not sure if there��ll be a part 2 cause it ended kinda weird but good read!!!

Let me just say that I loved Ava!!! She kept trying to spare her dingy friend but some people can’t see the Forrest from the trees.
Ruger and Rumor tsk tsk tsk but Auri was no victim so hoewell!!! I’m on the fence about Cia and still trying to discern if she was semi sneak dissing or just being over protective. Either way I lovedddd this story and the lesson for the day never ever underestimate who think in the underdog!

This book was so good & left no crumbs! The way Rumor & Ruger relationship developed was wrong, however I was proud of Rumor. She was so confident in the skin she was in & got her man! Why have I been sleeping on this author? Like why didn’t anyone tell me her pen game was a beast. All her books I’ve read have definitely been a BOMB 10 out 10 & this book is certainly no different. I need more of Rumor & Cavhi ❤️❤️❤️

Another book that has me feeling conflicted. Ruger is a bold dude. That guy really just said I’m gonna do what I’m gonna do. I was legit screaming in my head for Rumor to mind her business and leave him alone.
Then there’s Rumor, I’m not a fan of her messing around w Ruger. HOWEVER, there’s nothing I love more than a woman people underestimate. Like people saw her one way buttttt sissss, sis was a whole ‘nother type of sis. & I bloody loved it

Ruger and Rumor.....
Have a true bond and love. That has grown since Cai and her become friends at a young age. He wasn't what they made him out to be. He was more than a street dude,Rumor and Cai was the only two ladies who could make him show that other side. AURI wasn't the brightest crayon in the box. This story was goodt and I enjoyed it.

Honestly l wanted to like this book so bad but l just couldn’t. We kept hearing about how smart Rumour was but we really never saw it. She was naive, easily influenced and lacked morals in my opinion. I just wish Nicole would genuinely develop her female characters and give them more cause Rumour wasn’t it

To sum it up never underestimate a person. And don’t trust no one around your man. That Rumor was too sneaky…I was a little confused about the ending or lack there of. Kind of weird.

good but felt repetitive
This book was too reminiscent of Fat Ma. A few changed circumstances and names was pretty much the difference. Although the book was good, it just felt repetitive.

Book was good
This book was good and I recommend. The only issue is the ending. It was very abrupt. I’ve seen that in serval of her books. Not looking for a happy ending but closure.

Definitely a page turner, with all the drama that going on in this story. I really didn’t like how it ended I wanted to get a quick update from Ruger and Rumor.Like did she a chance go school and how they were doing going forward. But overall it kept up on my toes.
